00:00:20Donald Trump's vow to lower the prices, boost factory jobs and
00:00:24improved life for the middle class as yet to materialize
00:00:27in with the midterm elections a little more than three months away, the
00:00:31economy has also stalled in many
00:00:33of of the areas where Donald Trump said that mass deportations of
00:00:37undocumented people and higher import taxes would trigger
00:00:41a boom with the US in his rudy war against Iran
00:00:44intensifying some key
00:00:49of rests.

00:01:29The first eight. 15 months of President Donald Trump's second term and the
00:01:33White House have seen a series of policy driven economic
00:01:37shocks, highlighted by higher tariffs that he promised
00:01:40during his 2024 presidential campaign an
00:01:44unanticipated war with Iran that has boosted the price of
00:01:47oil and threatened global supply
00:01:51of chains.
00:01:55of of Coming up in today's program, Donald Trump's economics,
00:01:5818 months point. Trump's economic policies have been a
00:02:02whirlwind of ups and downs from inflation which has been
00:02:05increasing to factory jobs, which has been decreasing. Our
00:02:09second headline: tariffs, war and economic shocks.
00:02:13What has Donald Trump
00:02:14of done to the economy? The question should be, what hasn't he done? From
00:02:18tariffs economic shocks to the Iran war, he has pretty much
00:02:22covered the entire gammit, unpopular war and
00:02:26economic
00:02:27of downturn, but the illegal aggression of... on Iran has caused the
00:02:31of US econom a lot leading to economic downturn which
00:02:35is evident in the lower than expected economic
00:02:39output or the GDP. We're going to be
00:02:41of discussing of those points
00:02:42of and a whole lot more with our guests right here, Nick Cruz, Writer,
00:02:45Activist and co-founder of Revolutionary Blackout
00:02:49Network and Dr. Matias
00:02:52Vernango, full professor of Buchnel
00:02:58of of University.

00:04:06Donald Trump, he couldn't give, he couldn't care about the American people any
00:04:10less than he does, he promised that he was going to address
00:04:14uh the problems of inflation and the
00:04:17of economy, meanwile he's bragging about how he's been the best
00:04:21president that Idra has ever had, he even
00:04:25mocked the pain that the American people was
00:04:28of
00:04:28of in feeling during the... inflation crisis by saying it was
00:04:32inflation crisis
00:04:33hopes.
00:04:39so he don't care about the American people. the only thing he cares about is
00:04:43dividing the American people by pushing culture wars and
00:04:45division and doing the
00:04:48of agenda
00:04:48of the zionist regime
00:04:50in and promoting endless wars. as the American people are
00:04:53suffering, they are expanding the United States military.
00:04:56you cannot pass
00:04:57of a audit, by the way, they're expanding the... budget to
00:05:00$1.5 trillion dollars as the American people
00:05:04struggled eat as their call their life continues to drop. this
00:05:08is what we seen throughout the ruling class mean times before the promising to take care
00:05:12of the America. people but abandon them the second day take
00:05:14power.
00:05:21It has been exactly one year since President Donald Trump signed the
00:05:25one big beautiful bill act. When it comes to income, the trend has
00:05:29continued in the US and Donald Trump's policies are no
00:05:32exceptions. Incomes for the wealthy and highest earners
00:05:36prosper while lower and middle income households
00:05:40fair less well. The net worth. the top 1%
00:05:44grew 30% over the past three years, the middle
00:05:4740% grew by less than 10% over that
00:05:51same
00:05:51period.
00:06:27people have been predicting a massive economic downturn for very long
00:06:30time and Donald Trump's mismanagement is making things even
00:06:34worse, but to be clear, this is bipartisan
00:06:37failure of neoliberalism in the west uh
00:06:41that has been a problem even before Donald Trump took office,
00:06:45the result of failed neoliberal policies that promotes
00:06:49giant police states, giant authoritarian military
00:06:52budgets has led to the top 1% in the United
00:06:56States, owning more wealth than the bottom
00:06:5990%.
00:07:04We have over 60% of Americans who live paycheck to
00:07:07paycheck, we have one out of five children in America who live in
00:07:11poverty and face. insecurity, that's why they
00:07:14spend lot of money promoting uh propaganda and hollywood
00:07:18and on tv shows to promote the image of American living
00:07:22a fancy um very
00:07:26well-lavished life, but the reality of Americans is one
00:07:30of suffering due to capitalist mismanagement, our
00:07:33infrastructure is even falling apart, but instead of fixing that, once again
00:07:37the focus of Donald Trump and the entirety the United States Congress
00:07:41is just to provide. money for never-ending wars, providing billions of
00:07:45dollars to Ukraine and billions of dollars to the state of
00:07:47visual.
00:08:09This is the social section the program, I can't. believe this is
00:08:13a real video and not AI. Donald Trump says America can't afford
00:08:17to take care of Americans medicare and day care, but he
00:08:21can find well over $3.1 billion dollars every year
00:08:25to send to Israel, another 1776 is needed
00:08:29in America, because the United States can't take care
00:08:33of daycare, that has to be up to a state.
00:08:37We can't take care of daycare, we're a big country, we have 50 states, we have all
00:08:41these other people, we're...
00:09:13Donald Trump's administration is ending medicare part d
00:09:17subsidies, raising prescription drug costs for
00:09:20more than 11 million Americans. You can't afford
00:09:24rent, you can't afford groceries, you can't afford to get
00:09:27sick, they found a billion dollars a day to for
00:09:31bombs. The money exists, they just decided you don't deserve
00:09:35it. Promises made,
00:09:38promises broken in the minds the American public.
00:09:424%, 38% said they make them worse off back in October of
00:09:462024. Look at these numbers now, oh my goodness,
00:09:50John shaking his head off on the side, now 58%,
00:09:54nearly three in five voters say that Trump is making them financially
00:09:58worse off, that's up like rocket, the better off down through
00:10:02the floor a lake Michigan, these are absolutely
00:10:05devastating numbers, the issue that got Trump
00:10:08reelected, now the voters absolutely turn against Donald Trump.
00:10:12says we have an amazing economy, really 60% of our
00:10:16people live paycheck to paycheck, 85 million
00:10:19are uninsured or underinsured, more than
00:10:23750, people are homeless, the price of
00:10:27groceries is through the roof. if this is amazing then
00:10:31god help
00:10:31us.
00:11:37the economy in some ways,
00:11:40structural things have not been doing well for a long while preceeds
00:11:44trump, in fact it is the poor performance the
00:11:47economy that explains why trump uh
00:11:51is in the presidency and and not just this time 2016. and what not,
00:11:55so for working class Americans, it's
00:11:59been four decades since the economy sort
00:12:02of uh really showed significant improvement
00:12:06for for
00:12:06them.
00:12:12in the very short term, the American economy was already slowing down uh
00:12:16coming out the pandemic because the stimulus the pandemic was
00:12:20coming down, so the the economy has slowed down and and
00:12:23Trump has not helped. that so so the the
00:12:27economy is growing which is not terrible at about
00:12:302% uh slightly more i think the first quarter but now
00:12:34that's the average by by european standards is actually pretty decent the
00:12:38unemployment rate in united states is low 4.2%.
00:12:42however that doesn't mean that the situation in the labor market is good so that
00:12:46camouflages the situation in the labor market that it's much worse
00:12:50uh with people that yeah don't get enough
00:12:54work and are discouraged and are out the labor force and so on and so
00:12:58forth, so so those are significant problems uh,
00:13:02but again those problems have been there for a
00:13:04while.
00:13:49first manufacturing for those that thought that just uh
00:13:53hiking tariffs and have been problematic, part them have been
00:13:57sort of repudiated by the supreme
00:14:00court, although he has reimposed
00:14:04tariffs again, but the average tariffs did go
00:14:07up and and the tariffs many thought
00:14:11including the labor movement in united states, people that were for tariffs
00:14:14in the among unions and and
00:14:18and what not, they did not bring back
00:14:22manufacturing jobs, so manufacturing jobs require... more than just tariffs, they
00:14:26require you industrial policy,
00:14:29incentives, national
00:14:33strategy, things that if
00:14:36anything with the
00:14:40election of Trump and and the end the Biden government have
00:14:43become less organized, so so there was more of a
00:14:47preoccupation of bringing some manufacturing jobs i think a more coherent way
00:14:51with the Biden administration.
00:14:57"the prospects for the future, I think depend
00:14:59incredibly on what policy choices are
00:15:03made, and the war in Iran is a complicated sort of thing, because on the one
00:15:07hand, the war in Iran has, as I said, in the first question
00:15:10accelerated inflation, and that implies that the Fed might
00:15:14keep interest rates, if if not highed interest rate, at least maintain
00:15:18interest rate, a level that it's relatively high, and that creates problems,
00:15:21because you lot the consumption depends on on. on
00:15:25credit and interest rates are high, the housing market, that's
00:15:29the most important mechanism, the housing market heavily depends
00:15:32on on credit and mortgage rates and mortgage rates remain
00:15:36ra relatively high, so so that is something that points
00:15:40to a weakness in the American
00:15:41economy.
00:16:09This is the info news section the program, AI bubble
00:16:13burst. The AI bubble is bursting, don't get muld. The
00:16:16AI hardware and semiconductor sector has experienced a
00:16:20sharp correction, despite recent volatility. The AI bubble
00:16:24has not peaked. Our special investigation revealed this one
00:16:28example, that South Korea's stock market, it has
00:16:32plunged as AI driven boom fades. South Korean
00:16:35stocks have dropped for a... second consecutive session with sols
00:16:39equity market losing about $2.18 trillion
00:16:43dollars in value, poverty in Italy.
00:16:47Council of Europe sounds the alarm: one in seven
00:16:51children in Italy lives in absolute
00:16:54poverty. The situation is particularly prevalent in the
00:16:58south in outlying areas and in the most disadvantage
00:17:02urban neighborhoods, affecting single parent families and those
00:17:06with more than children in
00:17:08particular. Donald Trump's tariffs, they
00:17:12are sending some companies back to China. For some
00:17:16US brands seeking a location for their factories, the economic
00:17:20logic is once again pointing to
00:17:23China. US LNG sales, Washington's
00:17:27tap war strategy constrains oil and gas
00:17:30rivals to elevate American LNG. This indicates that
00:17:34Washington is pursuing the top war strategy. a calculated
00:17:38effort to limit competing oil and gas
00:17:41sources so that the higher cost US shall gas and
00:17:45LNG can meet global
00:17:47demand.
00:18:18This is the in-depth section the program. Donald Trump's economic performance
00:18:22during the past 18 months leaves lot to be
00:18:25desired. Main street USA is saying it, economists are saying
00:18:29it, economic data for the most part is saying it, and so
00:18:33are US politicians from both sides the isle.
00:18:43In our presentation for this part, we will look at some
00:18:47senior US politicians like Senator Brian Shatz, Chuck Schumer
00:18:51and Bernie Sanders. We will also look at an example of
00:18:55US economic data that is hurting millions of Americans, and that
00:18:59is the mortgage rates. First, let's see what Brian
00:19:02Shatz has to say about the US
00:19:05economy. "there's a lot going on in the
00:19:09world, gas is about $4 nationally,
00:19:13Hawaii, it's about
00:19:14550, um, people can't afford
00:19:18their healthcare, people can't afford their groceries, and senator
00:19:21Clobasar said it exactly right, this is about priorities, this is about
00:19:25giving $70 billion dollars more money to Ice
00:19:29than the United States Marine Core, what the senator
00:19:33there is saying is that regular people can't afford..."
00:19:37their lives anymore, they can't afford to put food on
00:19:41the table, they can't afford their electricity bells, they
00:19:45can't afford to put gas in the tank, they can't
00:19:48afford their health insurance, the numbers are here for
00:19:52you to see, check out the price of beef as an example,
00:19:56to have increased almost 20% right here, more in major cities
00:19:59across the US as well, electric bills, another example
00:20:03of 30%, all these price increases
00:20:07subtract from the ability of US
00:20:11consumers purchasing power. now let's uh
00:20:14look at what's US senator Chuck Schumer has to say
00:20:18about the most recent GDP numbers, which was quite
00:20:22disappointing to say to least. well, Mr. President,
00:20:26today, the disastrous Trump economy delivered
00:20:30another one to gut punch to the American
00:20:34people. growth is down, cost.
00:20:38"the American people don't need government reports and economists
00:20:41to tell them how sluggish Trump's economy is or how high
00:20:45costs
00:20:47are americans see
00:20:47it at the gas pump they
00:20:48see it
00:20:48at the grocery store they" whenever they pay the rent or for heating or for
00:20:52electricity. Trump and Trump on the other hand has
00:20:56no clue just how deep in the dumps his economy
00:21:00is. Truck Schumer absolutely torches Donald
00:21:03Trump after 1.5% GDP growth. 2022
00:21:07to 2023 there was a steady economic growth, but
00:21:112025 there was a dip, as you can see right here, and
00:21:14then comes the point where the US finds itself after
00:21:18all the promises made. by Donald Trump, 1.5%
00:21:22economic growth. Now it's time to listen to Senator Bernie
00:21:26Sanders. Every morning in
00:21:29America, tens of millions of people are waking up and
00:21:33they're saying, how i going to put food on the table for my
00:21:37kid? How am I going to fill up the gas tank when gas is
00:21:41450 a gallon? What happens if
00:21:44my car breaks down and I can't get to work, and if
00:21:48I can't get to work I lose my job. if lose my
00:21:51job, how's my family going to survive? what
00:21:54happens when my dad gets sick and he can't afford prescription
00:21:58drugs when my kid gets sick? how i going to
00:22:02put away a few bucks so maybe i can retire with
00:22:05dignity? half of older workers in america
00:22:09have nothing in savings. bernie's message to the ruling
00:22:13class, pretty dire situation. one in four americans,
00:22:16that's 26% of all Americans say... cannot
00:22:20pay for a $500 repaired job, imagine
00:22:24that, maybe it's because they don't even have
00:22:27$400 in their bank account or their credit has run
00:22:30dry, pretty dismal situation for many
00:22:34Americans. now on that point, let me bring in our guest Nick
00:22:38Cruz, writer, activist and co-founder of Revolutionary blackout network
00:22:42into this conversation, Mr. Cruzs in one the
00:22:45starkest pulls, 95% of Americans believe the
00:22:49US is... suffering and affordability crisis, that's according
00:22:53to a survey conducted by Harris Pole which paints
00:22:57this bleak picture of uh how people
00:23:01feel about the US economy, mid the war on Iran and ahead the
00:23:05midtem elections coming up in November. Uh, what do you think
00:23:09and how do you think that is going to affect Donald Trump's
00:23:12presidency and the mid-term elections results?
00:23:16Oh, Donald Trump is going to face a historic defeat.
00:23:20uh in the midterms, but this is how the system is designed
00:23:24for one oligarch to take charge due to the bidding the
00:23:28empire and then pass the baton to the next puppet the
00:23:31empire, this is the same thing we seen happen under Joe
00:23:35Biden when the inflation crisis became became even
00:23:39worse as he committed a genocide and funded nazis in
00:23:42Ukraine. Donald Trump is the most corrupt
00:23:45politicians of all time and that's that's going to lead to his
00:23:49massive defeat. in the midterms, Donald Trump
00:23:52has made over $2 billion, Jerry
00:23:55Kuschner and his family has made hundreds of
00:23:59millions of dollars, billions of dollars on shady
00:24:02deals, so yeah, this is how the system goes, you have the
00:24:06revolving door corruption, the republicans will
00:24:08lose, and then the democrats will take charge and they will rule
00:24:12for a while, and then they will sell out the American people, and
00:24:15then Marco Rubio or JDV may.
00:24:20elected in the next election cycle uh, the system is designed to
00:24:23fail, but to to keep itself in power at the same
00:24:27time is fail democracy. now it's time to take a look at the
00:24:30mortgage rates. the rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage rate
00:24:34now stands at 6.66%, that is one the
00:24:38highest in one year. again, that bites into the consumer purchasing
00:24:41power since it is a constant that they have to doll
00:24:45out every month. now on that final point, let me bring in
00:24:49our guest, Dr. Matthias Vernengo, full professor
00:24:53at Bucknel University. Professor, inflation on many
00:24:56goods, especially food and energy is up, manufacturing
00:25:00output is down, 75,00 fewer
00:25:04Americans work in factories than 18 months ago,
00:25:07then the iron ward uh has hurt the US consumers big
00:25:11time as well. How will this hurt the chances of Donald
00:25:15Trump's Republican party winning the midterms in
00:25:19November? "well, I'm not a political analyst, what I can tell you is
00:25:23that there is an affordability crisis, there's no doubt, people, I
00:25:26mean inflation has accelerated, as I said, some people at the
00:25:29bottom, actually until very re from 2023, for a while
00:25:33during the pandemic they were losing, but for the most part since 2023,
00:25:37the wages the of non-skilled workers have sort of
00:25:40recovered, but um, but again from a low
00:25:44base,
00:25:45so so, so I think that there is an affordability crisis, there is anger
00:25:49uh, particularly..." I think that the price of gas and oil your
00:25:53oil and and then gas and yeah when people
00:25:56can drive in this country is sort of a serious issue uh
00:26:00people uh take very serious. the fact
00:26:03that gas is more expensive and so I think that that
00:26:07is a problem that you will have electorally. I think that yes, all
00:26:10indicates that the the situation and that there is
00:26:14discontent and that he may lose
00:26:16the the med terms. Yeah, it wouldn't be a
00:26:20surprise, it's the norm in American elections that the midterm
00:26:24elections go against the incumbent, so so that would
00:26:27be not necessarily a
00:26:31surprise if that happen.
00:26:32for
00:26:33the the the more important thing from my perspective is what happens in
00:26:37in not the mid terms, what happens in two years, and I
00:26:41think in order for an alternative
00:26:44to the economic policies of Trump to emerge, there would
00:26:48be Democratic
00:26:49a Party need embrace some the more
00:26:52populist sort of proposals on the
00:26:55left the democratic party that address exactly those issues, the
00:26:59issues of affordability of affordability. just of gas, but
00:27:03affordability of of healthcare, affordability
00:27:06of of education, which
00:27:10is, I work a university is very expensive, and and I think that
00:27:14those issues uh will certainly affect not only just the
00:27:18midterm, but the future presidential elections in in two years
00:27:21and a
00:27:22half.
00:27:47Don't let the news full you, many items are cherrypicked to
00:27:51present vibrant US economy, that is not the case, there
00:27:54are many outlets that also revealed the true numbers and
00:27:58facts, but not enough of it, the economic situation in the...
00:28:02is pretty bad and the US president knows it, but oddly enough
00:28:06he conducts policies that appear to want to hurt the
00:28:10US consumers. this is the website page of economic divide. feel
