00:00:00quietly a piece of broken concrete, waiting in the same place
00:00:04where she last knew her son existed. Malcon's body was
00:00:08never recovered. His story reminds us that the deepest wound
00:00:12of war is not only the
00:00:14of lives it takes, sometimes the greatest cruelty is leaving
00:00:17mother with nowhere to hold her final
00:00:23of goodbye.
00:00:27of
00:00:38of
00:00:47of where
00:00:50Iran and Oman are working toward new operational
00:00:54framework for one
00:00:55of the world's most critical maritime choke points. Iranian
00:00:59officials argue that any future arrangement should reflect the sovereign
00:01:03rights and security responsibilities
00:01:05of the two coastal states. report suggests discussions include
00:01:09new service fees for navigation. supporters
00:01:12of the proposed framework argue that charges for navigation,
00:01:16safety, vessel, traffic management, security escorts and environmental
00:01:20protection could be
00:01:21of structured in manner consistent with the existing
00:01:25international practice. critics, however, content that any new
00:01:29financial or regulatory regime could affect freedom of
00:01:33navigation and global energy markets, so are we witnessing the
00:01:36emergence of new marime order in the straight of removes? what
00:01:40would it mean for regional
00:01:42in security, the global economy and the balance of power in west Asia? that's what
00:01:46we'll be discussing tonight with our
00:01:48guests,
00:01:52a
00:01:57joining us from
00:01:59of London. and Christopher
00:02:03Horstell, author and politician joining us from
00:02:06Berlin.
00:02:10Gentlemen, thank you both for being with us. Um, I'm going to start
00:02:15of with Mr. Horstelle our guest in Berlin. Thank you so much for being with
00:02:18us. Um, let's begin with your broad takeaway on the
00:02:22situation
00:02:22of the straight of removes, the choices that the US has in order to
00:02:26counter any agreements that Iran and Oman um...
00:02:30may be reaching very soon and why and how would such an
00:02:33agreement be strategically important at this time and
00:02:37place? we see that the
00:02:40US now
00:02:42of militarily quite crippled, they are unable in
00:02:45fact to strongly attack Iran, it
00:02:49doesn't help them, Iran is much
00:02:52of stronger in its responses
00:02:54of and that
00:02:55in sets all these little or bigger countries in
00:02:59the re'. somehow free, they have nothing to
00:03:03fear from the US anymore, that
00:03:05of tiger has become a paper tiger, but
00:03:08it is murderous paper tiger which can kill
00:03:12people, so this is the the situation we have, and the
00:03:15talks between oman and Iran are
00:03:19traditionally very good, there's a
00:03:21in good relationship, these countries are open and honest
00:03:25towards each other, and this is what we see as
00:03:28a result, and this... serious and reliable
00:03:32policy of Iran towards all the
00:03:34of neighbors is now
00:03:36of paying out, that is very, very clear, so I think that it's
00:03:40a good chance that this works, unless in
00:03:43fact Trump issues military
00:03:47strong threats against the uh Roman
00:03:50government to stop them from concluding
00:03:54these deals, but that will set up lot of trouble, and
00:03:57I heard just this afternoon, from a direct
00:04:01quotation
00:04:02a from the Pakistani field marshall Assim Munier, the strong
00:04:06man of Pakistan so to say, that he told Donald
00:04:10Trump personally, quote, the time of
00:04:13escalation is over, unquote, so that is the
00:04:17situation, and the Saudis through Muhammad
00:04:20bin have
00:04:22of made it amply clear to the US, that should they start
00:04:25any aggression against Iran, they have
00:04:29no... allowance okay from the saudi side to
00:04:33use their airspace and that's vital, there's a huge
00:04:37detour they would have to fly, so in fact we have a
00:04:40situation here where something
00:04:43you know slowly, slowly, slowly something comes closer towards
00:04:47a solution, and a good deal right now
00:04:50with oman and Iran will give face
00:04:54saving device to us president Trump who is
00:04:57beleged because he's losing. the big majority
00:05:01of the American support for his crazy policies, so that is
00:05:05a good chance that this in fact can appease a
00:05:09little bit the
00:05:10of American idea,
00:05:11you know that... not only Iran should be there, so that's
00:05:15it, but there will be, that is very clear from all inside
00:05:19talks, no and zero compromise from the Iranian
00:05:23side beyond the MOU. The
00:05:26Americans now have to fulfill the Mou,
00:05:30and after that Iran talks, before that there will be zero
00:05:34talks, no matter what Trump is lying about his fantastic
00:05:37contacts to hisb
00:05:39and to Iran and whatsoever, we have a... very
00:05:43serious project and that is the situation that
00:05:46Iran is not attacking Israel for its
00:05:50violations the mou against Lebanon, which
00:05:53is increasingly looking like Gaza, and my
00:05:57Gaza brothers are calling me by the day, they are
00:06:01starving, and please, so to say, my Iranian friends, that's right,
00:06:05Mr. Israel for that, because you
00:06:08are the only power in the world, the only country with guts.
00:06:12with the good population was behind its government and
00:06:16punish this country for its multiple crimes, exactly, my brother
00:06:20Abu Safia is dying an Israeli
00:06:23prison, we are going to come back to that, I'm so sorry to
00:06:27interrupt, but we are going to come back to that topic, let me also bring in to
00:06:31this conversation, Masud Shajara, chairman the Islamic Human
00:06:35Rights Commission joining us from the British Capital, London, thank you so much Mr. Shajara
00:06:39for being with us, um, so many things uh... to talk
00:06:43about, let's talk about the situation on February 27,
00:06:472026, the straight off moves was open to
00:06:50commercial shipping, um, even different ships from different
00:06:54countries entered the straight uh and into the Persian
00:06:57Gulf, also at the same time Donald Trump had
00:07:01so-called allies in the Persian Gulf countries. Right
00:07:04now, after more than five months, the situation has changed
00:07:08dramatically, the straight of for moves is in full control the...
00:07:12Iranian armed forces and those allies, according to Mr.
00:07:15Horstoll's analysis, are turning
00:07:19back from what they have been doing throughout the
00:07:22years. Absolutely, I think we need
00:07:25to sort of separate illusions
00:07:28that Trump is trying to hold up
00:07:32and create, and the reality, the reality is
00:07:36that United States has lost this war, the
00:07:40reality is that Trump. stop, he doesn't know
00:07:44what to do, he knows that he needs to give
00:07:47concession, he knows that the game has totally
00:07:51changed, not just regarding the sort
00:07:55the governments in
00:07:58the Persian gulf, but the
00:08:01you know whole spectral
00:08:04the situation has changed, Iran is a very
00:08:08powerful position because United State...
00:08:12all his mind and support of Israel and
00:08:16indeed even some the local
00:08:19governments and and indeed Europeans
00:08:22providing logistical support
00:08:26is failed, it actually lost the war and there is no
00:08:30way that that could change
00:08:33and and what Trump is trying to do by
00:08:37creating illusions and by sort of one
00:08:40minute saying that there is deal. and the next minute is saying that
00:08:44is going to wipe Iran the
00:08:48map the world
00:08:49and and destroy it totally is trying to
00:08:53manage this defeat, this
00:08:56you know total defeat and is not manageable, it's getting
00:08:59worse and now regional
00:09:03governments all realizing that they cannot no
00:09:07longer continue supporting united
00:09:10state and and indeed they
00:09:14want resolution, they want end to this
00:09:17conflict, they want to go back to some level of
00:09:21normality, and they realized that that
00:09:24normality could only be
00:09:27realistic and could be only achieved by giving
00:09:31Iran what is rightful
00:09:35sort of position is in the region and
00:09:38in in regarding the hormones so... so
00:09:42this is a reality that the longer Trump
00:09:46tries to ignore and try to um sort of
00:09:50undermine it by creating illusions, the worse you
00:09:54will become, and the best thing all
00:09:57around for everyone, including United States and
00:10:00Europeans and the regional government is
00:10:04to see solution to see the implementation of
00:10:08memorandum of understanding, to see solution of...
00:10:13ending the aggression of zionist
00:10:16state against his neighbor, against
00:10:18humanity, and
00:10:21you know, so
00:10:22the world could actually start
00:10:24putting the... lives back together and this
00:10:28crisis to begin to be
00:10:31resolved. that's right. mr.
00:10:34horstoll, under the strato for moves deal currently being
00:10:38discussed
00:10:39uh the st that i'm going to tell you are based on
00:10:42routers. um, Iran is seeking transit fees
00:10:45of 5% to 7% the cargo price of
00:10:49vessels passing through the strategic waterray the strict of remoz.
00:10:53Omani officials are pushing or lower fees of around
00:10:563%. Washington is claiming that it wants zero
00:11:00transit fees. I don't know where
00:11:03that come from comes from. A fully laiden VLCC, which is very
00:11:07large crude carrier carries around 150
00:11:11million dollars worth of oil, um, which a 5%
00:11:15fee on it that the very least would equal 5.7 million
00:11:19dollars per ship, and when considering the average cargo and
00:11:22volume of ships passing through the straight each. it would net
00:11:26Iran roughly about 45 billion dollars in
00:11:30tolls yearly when we are speaking about that, this number
00:11:33is uh is big enough
00:11:37that it has two different ramifications, one
00:11:41it gives iran an economic leverage over different countries that are
00:11:45coming in through the straight of her mouse and at the same time a
00:11:49political one, your thoughts,
00:11:53well to make that very clear. Iran has charged already
00:11:571 million dollar per ship,
00:12:00roughly like like this, and that was
00:12:03easily taken up by the economy. We are now a
00:12:07situation where the global economy is suffering to such
00:12:11huge extent that we don't know how much
00:12:15the catastrophe in the end will be globally. So this
00:12:19is the situation under these circumstances and
00:12:22also seeing. the
00:12:25sacrifices of 30,000 dead
00:12:29Iranians, hundreds of hospitals and schools
00:12:33intentionally destroyed by the US,
00:12:36I do think there is a growing understanding that
00:12:40Iran is good and capable to maintain
00:12:44a very healthy order for a
00:12:48long period over hormous, and that is what the global
00:12:51economy, what all the peoples around the world want. "they
00:12:55finally want peace, they want order, they want new
00:12:59security for their shipments, and I think they are ready
00:13:03to pay a higher price than before. I'm no
00:13:06expert on these things, I can only do my
00:13:10political judgment, and the political judgment very clearly
00:13:14says that Iran's reputation globally has
00:13:18grown so much, while the US have gone
00:13:22gone down like a missile in the..." the direction so
00:13:26to say, so this is the situation, so for that reason I
00:13:29think the world is ready for Iran to
00:13:33levy a justified price, and that's it, if
00:13:37that is now five to 7%, from my side, I
00:13:41can politically agree, um, but as I say,
00:13:45I'm not an expert, and I think couldn't be more, mr.
00:13:49horstoll, would Europeans back an Iranian plan over
00:13:52the straight of moves, or would they... uh, in your opinion, is it
00:13:56likely that they will go with Donald Trump
00:13:59here? yeah, that last part of your
00:14:02question is so very interesting, so for one thing, the
00:14:06Europeans are,
00:14:08you know, toothless vessels, they are not free to
00:14:12do or to say anything, as far as the
00:14:16global deep states rule over Europe,
00:14:20Germany as a non-sovereign state has a special situation, we
00:14:24are ruled by the... American deep st, that's
00:14:26a special story globally, so this kind of rule
00:14:30makes sure that nothing that is good for Iran will
00:14:34come from Europe, no matter what Mr. Macron
00:14:38from time to time is telling, he is just making up stories, we
00:14:41know that he talked about peace with Russia and special understanding
00:14:45and he kept zero promises and is a cheater, so this
00:14:49is the situation unfortunately, so I'm not expecting
00:14:53anything good from the Europe. but yes, Iran
00:14:57is independent, Iran is strong enough to impose its own
00:15:01rules and make the Europeans
00:15:04understand that you know, if they try anything
00:15:08funny sending warships to the Gulf
00:15:12of Persia or even into the Red Sea, they have just withdrawn, the
00:15:16Germans for example, they understand they are in no
00:15:19way capable to put a counterweight against
00:15:23Iran, so
00:15:24I think... simply obey, that's all. Thank you so much.
00:15:28Mr. Shajar, how would in your opinion a formalized
00:15:32Iran and Oman maritime arrangements the
00:15:36strage of horm? affect the global economy at this
00:15:39point? well, i
00:15:42think the global economy needs recovery,
00:15:46the global economy needs stability
00:15:49and an agreement and
00:15:53process will exactly give it what it needs
00:15:57and this is why everyone is waiting for it to
00:16:00happen, but i think it will be wrong to
00:16:04look at the thing only from economical.
00:16:07perspective, economy is important, is important to
00:16:11Iran, is important to Oman, is important to the
00:16:15regional nations, and indeed important
00:16:18globally, but I think what is really
00:16:22has happened, what significant the
00:16:25victory of Iran, victory for Iran out of
00:16:29this war is that Iran cannot no longer
00:16:33be treated as it was treated before,
00:16:37facing sanction, facing demonization,
00:16:40facing sort of every
00:16:44possible pressure, economically,
00:16:47politically, and being demonized,
00:16:50you know, iranophobia have become a n,
00:16:53and but after this war, after this victory, this
00:16:57cannot happen any longer, Iran will
00:17:00not allow it to happen, it's not just about how much you are going
00:17:04to charge for the services. allowing
00:17:08every ship to go through is about the fact
00:17:11that
00:17:12you know Iran has got a pain card that
00:17:16is very powerful, it affects the global
00:17:19economy and not everybody knows that the gene
00:17:23cannot be put back into the bottle, and this is
00:17:27exactly where we are, and unless there is recognition of
00:17:31this by Trump and
00:17:34and then we will have...
00:17:38more time for him to sort
00:17:41of be forced to recognize the
00:17:44reality of geographical reality, political
00:17:48reality and military
00:17:51reality the region and recognize that
00:17:55you know he cannot lie his way out of this, and looking
00:17:59at the situation of Europe, Europeans have
00:18:02proven that they are irrelevant, they have been irrelevant
00:18:06for very long. long time, JCPO,
00:18:10you know, they showed that they are incompetent and
00:18:13irrelevant, they can neither resolve or bring any
00:18:16solution or indeed have any
00:18:20say in in the
00:18:22in the in those processes and right now they
00:18:26have, they have made it very clear by their
00:18:29action that they are not plays in this state,
00:18:33and Trump has shown that he wants to
00:18:37be... the main man of a player, but he had no card to
00:18:40play, he is indeed stuck in the
00:18:43mod and he has to recognize the
00:18:47reality. the longer it takes is going to be more
00:18:50painful for everyone, but at the end of
00:18:54it, the game is not going to change, the reality is that
00:18:58Iran is a very powerful position after this
00:19:02victory and indeed the future and
00:19:06the future of region. belongs to it and it is
00:19:09irrelevant the agreement with oman or
00:19:13not, there would be agreement, the relationship, as my
00:19:17colleague said between Iran and Roman is is
00:19:20exceptional, and they will come with
00:19:23the resolution, but the problem is that is not
00:19:27resolution with Oman, is is recognition of
00:19:30Trump, recognizing that he
00:19:33hasn't got any other option and he... has
00:19:37to give concession to Iran, not
00:19:41just over the charges, but over the
00:19:45right to be to pay
00:19:47equal right within the international
00:19:51community. Mr. Shajar regarding the Europeans
00:19:55as it is known fact, of course you can tell me
00:19:59from wrong here that the Europeans are still having issues when it comes
00:20:03to the Ukraine policy and that is against what has
00:20:07happened. against Donald Trump and the world is changing, it is said time
00:20:11and again that new global order is emerging. um, isn't
00:20:15a time for the Europeans to back something that Donald Trump is
00:20:19not backing, and that can be Iran's authority over the straight of
00:20:23removes?
00:20:26well, so sorry Mr. that question was for Mr. Shadow,
00:20:30I'm going to come back to you,
00:20:34indeed, I think, I think this racky nation. is long over
00:20:38due, but as is been said, as
00:20:42is been sort of proven over and over
00:20:45and that Europeans are
00:20:49failing. "they're incompetent to make right
00:20:52decisions for themselves, they have failed to do so in
00:20:56Ukraine, they have failed to do so over
00:21:00sort of economical agreements with
00:21:04United States and the failing here
00:21:07regarding Iran, and
00:21:10and the reality is, the reality is
00:21:14that Europe is going to pay heavy price for
00:21:18this, and they know it." but they are scared to stand
00:21:22up against the bully, and the bully has
00:21:26still demands and total respect. I
00:21:30mean, look,
00:21:31you know, it's been proven over and over, do you
00:21:35remember when all these Europeans went to the
00:21:38oval overal room at
00:21:42the white house, and they were all
00:21:46set together like bunch of kids being...
00:21:50sort of bullied by Trump, that is a reality that is
00:21:53happening within the international community and they
00:21:57are too scared to stand up against the bully
00:22:01and they will suffer for it, they are irrelevant right now and
00:22:05they will suffer long term sort
00:22:09economic and political consequences of
00:22:12this, but i don't know how they
00:22:16will be awaken to do the right thing. own
00:22:20citizens in Europe, be in Britain,
00:22:24France, Germany, Spain or Italy and
00:22:27elsewhere are demanding that their governments make the
00:22:31right disposition and stand on the right side of history, but the
00:22:35still they are failing. Mr.
00:22:38Horstole, as the last question, how much longer would
00:22:42you say the US obstructionism in the region can go
00:22:45on? Well, I
00:22:49think... Unfortunately it can go on quite
00:22:53long and there's the issue of
00:22:56tactical nukes which may be used if
00:23:00there's enough craziness in the white house and enough
00:23:04pressure of
00:23:05you now roach satanist zionist
00:23:08billionaires who are financing trump so this is the
00:23:12situation it's a very very complex and
00:23:15corrupt situation so it's not very sure what will...
00:23:20happen and anything is imaginable, we understanding
00:23:24that the global deep state wants a prolonged conflict
00:23:28around, because they want huge global crisis
00:23:31and
00:23:32then a wonderful huge world war to
00:23:36kill lot of people, this is the secret planning they
00:23:39have, so trump is just the little eront
00:23:43boy, the shine boy these guys and he's he
00:23:47is becoming with his family incredibly rich. through
00:23:50the deals which are enabled by this deep state just
00:23:54recently with Saudi Arabia, so this is a situation which is which
00:23:58is unclear, so we will see in the next days how
00:24:02Trump will decide, we understand what is the
00:24:05downside for the good side for the world, that there will
00:24:08peace and stability maintained by Iran, now the
00:24:12downside is Trump will certainly and
00:24:15crazily lose the midterm election, and that
00:24:19can lead... to his you know impeachment
00:24:23and that can lead to his imprisonment even, so this
00:24:27is a Trump's situation, it's a very dangerous situation, and we
00:24:31understand it is very close to the situation
00:24:34of his dear unloved
00:24:38ally Netanyahu who is facing prison if he loses
00:24:42his job in the next election, and we have a time now in the
00:24:46end of October there's the election in Israel and... beginning
00:24:50of November, just one week apart, there two elections in Israel and the
00:24:54US, and if something goes wrong, these two
00:24:57crazys decide that they want to have another attack with
00:25:01Iran and stop the elections, it's
00:25:05very unclear. Thank you so much, both of you for
00:25:09your time tonight, those were Masud Shajar, chairman the Islamic Human Rights
00:25:13Commission, join us from the British capital, London and Christopher Horstell
00:25:17author and politician join us from the city of Berlin. Thank you so
00:25:20much for your time tonight, and that brings us to the end of this edition
00:25:24of our spotlight program. Thank you for being with us and
00:25:26bye-bye.
00:25:41The bombs may have passed, but don't mistake that for peace.
00:25:45This week on the mediast stream we uncover the dangerous illusion behind
00:25:49Washington's. diplomacy as Donald Trump talks negotiations with
00:25:53Iran while reportedly preparing for even bigger military
00:25:56strike. Is the Armani mediation buying peace or merely
00:26:00buying time before the next. explosion, then we shift
00:26:04south, where Saudi Arabia's return to war against Yemen has
00:26:08ignited new front with the devastating consequences from
00:26:12the burning Aramko complex in Jizan to mounting threats against
00:26:16one the world's most vital shipping lanes. We'll
00:26:19examine how one reckless decision could turn an already
00:26:23fragile global economy into a full-scale
00:26:26maritime crisis. The road to wider war this
00:26:30week on the mediast stream.
00:30:07Tops sorry on Press TV: Iran's parliament speaker dismisses Donald Trump's threats of
00:30:11military action followed by demand for negotiations as theater
00:30:15diplomacy on loop and a failed strategy. A new
00:30:19report reveals nearly 700 American forces have suffered traumatic brain injuries
00:30:23in Euron's missile and drone strikes on US
00:30:26bases.
00:30:33and yemeny arm forces say they have conducted major operation against Saudi back
00:30:37mercenaries in Yemen planning to attack the capital
00:30:40son
00:30:44out.
