00:00:00top headlines: Iran slams
00:00:02of Trump's claim about an Iranian attack on the American soil, saying US
00:00:06of leaders
00:00:07of conjure up an imaginary enemy to frighten their own
00:00:10people. Despite earlier
00:00:13in denials, the Pentagon admits that the number of troops killed in the aggression
00:00:17against Iran is higher than previously reported with nearly
00:00:21900 injuries.
00:00:24And finally,
00:00:25in this hour, Trump and Zelensky trade barbs over the announced diesel deal with
00:00:29Russia. with the US president saying Ukraine needs
00:00:32in a new
00:00:36in leader.
00:00:48in Hello and welcome everyone, you're watching Press TV, world news. Let's go ahead and get started with
00:00:52this hours top
00:00:54of stories. Iran's foreign ministry spokesman has
00:00:57slammed
00:00:58the US president's latest claim. about a possible Iranian attack
00:01:02on the American soil, saying the real enemy
00:01:04of the American people is their own administration. Ismail Bagai
00:01:08made the remarks
00:01:09in a social media post after Donald Trump suggested in a public
00:01:13address that Iran could take out the cities of Los Angeles
00:01:17and San Diego. Iran's foreign ministry spokesman said to
00:01:20frighten their own people, US leaders conjure up an imaginary
00:01:24enemy in the sky to overshadow the real threat on the
00:01:28ground. He added that the real Danger to American people
00:01:31lies
00:01:32in a ruling establishment that has imposed an illegal war
00:01:35on the world with global consequences. He noted that Trump
00:01:39has even described the
00:01:41of destruction of Los Angeles and San Diego as quote, very
00:01:45small price to
00:01:46of pay. Baghay said this is textbook example
00:01:50of the politics of fear, frightening people with an imaginary threat,
00:01:54portraying the
00:01:55of destruction
00:01:55of their own cities as acceptable price to pay and
00:01:58diverting their attention. from the real
00:02:00danger.
00:02:04Meanwhile, Iran's top security official says the US has suffered
00:02:08defeat
00:02:09of of after defeats against
00:02:10of Iran, and that's why Washington has turned to economic
00:02:14war against the country. In an
00:02:16a exclusive interview with Press TV major general Mohsin Rai
00:02:19said, the US has failed even to end the war. The
00:02:23secretary
00:02:24of the Supreme National Security Council said, an end is in
00:02:28the hands of Iran
00:02:29of and they... will not stop their resistance until they get what is rightfully
00:02:33theirs. Razay added that the US is the root
00:02:37of the problem concerning the straight of hormos. The general said Iran
00:02:40seeks management
00:02:41of the straight to ensure regional security, especially in the
00:02:45Persian gulf. Atsie also warn that American
00:02:49assets, including key data and AI sensors will be
00:02:52struck if the US wages another act of aggression against
00:02:56Iran. You can view the full interview on Press TV in the...
00:03:00of hours, well,
00:03:04despite earlier denials, the US war department has admitted that
00:03:08the number of troops who have died in the aggression against Iran is
00:03:12higher than previously reported. According to the Washington Post, the
00:03:16Pentagon in its latest report has raised the official death tool
00:03:20of US troops linked to military aggression against Iran to
00:03:23201, acknowledging that two additional deaths had not
00:03:27previously been included in its
00:03:29of figures. the newly included deaths are an army major who died
00:03:33in Kuwait on March the 6th and an unidentified navy service member
00:03:37who died by suicide in September. The updated figures also
00:03:41showed that
00:03:42of 865 US service members have been also wounded during
00:03:46the aggression against Iran. Separately, the US
00:03:49of military confirmed the death of another soldier in Iraq claiming that
00:03:53he lost his life
00:03:54in a training accident unrelated to the aggression against
00:03:57Iran. The update came after the war Washington Post reported
00:04:01last month that the number of casualties from the war was greater than what the
00:04:05Pentagon has disclosed publicly. At the time US War secretary
00:04:09Pete Hagsath called that reports a complete
00:04:12lie. For
00:04:16his part, author and journalist Robert Fantina says, although Trump
00:04:19portrays the aggression against Iran as
00:04:22of necessary and downplays its human and financial cost, the American
00:04:26public sees it as an unnecessary war of choice that has been
00:04:30very
00:04:30costly,
00:04:35now the
00:04:37of recent revision of
00:04:39of numbers up to 21, one might say is only two
00:04:43soldiers, however for those two soldiers
00:04:46and that's extremely significant, and the fact
00:04:49that this government was willing to ignore them or avoid their
00:04:53reality, certainly degraded to not only those
00:04:57victims and their loves but all the military. who are being forced
00:05:01into this uh awful situation,
00:05:04so Donald Trump wants the US
00:05:08poc to look
00:05:09of at this as something
00:05:10of unimportant, not costly in terms. of lives or money
00:05:14and just just necessary military adventure, it is none
00:05:18of those things, it has been extremely costly in terms of lives and
00:05:21money, and it is a completely
00:05:24unnecessary and illegal and immoral aggression
00:05:28against Iran. there does seem to be something a little unusual about
00:05:32that if nearly 900 were injured and only
00:05:3621 died and again I'm not minimizing any way the lives of those 21 were
00:05:40lost, but it does seem to be a... rather strange
00:05:43proportion, now the soldier who died in
00:05:46Kuwait apparently was killed when
00:05:50the uh Iranian forces attacked US
00:05:54bases in in Kuwait, so the fact that only one
00:05:58person died in that uh, we can see it as fortunate, but is
00:06:02it true? another
00:06:05news US president Donald Trump says it's time for Ukraine to get
00:06:09new president after he announced a deal with Russia on diesel
00:06:12supplies. Trump said Ukrainian President Voladimir Zelensky could
00:06:16have ended the war with Russia many times, but chose not to. He
00:06:20criticized Zelinsky for ignoring warnings against striking Russian
00:06:24refining facilities, saying Kief had been told not to hit the
00:06:28refineries because of its fallout a global scale. Trump's
00:06:31comment came as the Ukrainian president said the oil agreement
00:06:35looks like a quote birthday present for the Russian president. Trump
00:06:39had said on Friday that the deal with Russia over diesel. supplies will
00:06:43lower fuel prices. He added that Vladimir Putin agreed to
00:06:47sell more than 300,000 tons of diesel to the U.S. and
00:06:51global markets. Analysts have cast doubt that the agreements will
00:06:54bring down energy costs
00:06:56worldwide. Well now joining us for
00:07:00more analysis on the story is Mr. Greg Simons, professor
00:07:04of journalism at Daffadil University there in Dhaka,
00:07:07Bangladesh. Professor, as always a pleasure have you with us and let's go ahead start
00:07:11off with a question, is this again the same
00:07:15narrative that history has shown us that the US is playing a card being played
00:07:19that when they're done with someone is time to either replace them or completely get rid
00:07:22them? yeah, well mean
00:07:25it's it's just us geopolitics all
00:07:29over again which is played throughout history when
00:07:33a proxy or a pawn is no longer
00:07:37useful that discarded or got rid of and this
00:07:41and Solinsky is outlasted his use a long
00:07:44time, the fact that he he seems to have forgotten his
00:07:48place, he he is not a
00:07:51subject of this war, he is an object of
00:07:54it, and zelinski and
00:07:58ukraine are not netanjahu in Israel, they
00:08:02don't hold the same position, so Zilinski has been
00:08:05playing a dangerous game and it seems to be coming to an
00:08:09end, and a professor in regards of...
00:08:13to this uh deal as Donald Trump is saying of course that they have agreed
00:08:17with Russia and regards to the diesel, again we've been waiting
00:08:20for uh claims and statements by of course of
00:08:24Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin and stuff in this regard, but uh would you agree with some
00:08:28analyst that are saying that completely opposite with Donald Trump is saying that this
00:08:32deal, if true okay, that they doubt that it will bring down the
00:08:35energy cost specifically what we're seeing economically across the
00:08:38world, well trump he we
00:08:42he communicates, he doesn't communicate
00:08:46regarding effects and
00:08:49results, what he communicates, it's a
00:08:53performative action the communication, the communication
00:08:57is meant to make trump look good, this this
00:09:00nonsense like art the deal and so forth, so it
00:09:04looks as though he's achieved something, when in
00:09:08fact the results and what is going to happen are
00:09:11very question. so this is
00:09:15very low quality jinga istic
00:09:19propaganda because November the 3rd you
00:09:23have the mid-term elections and this is very desperate
00:09:26attempt to make it look as though he is still somehow
00:09:29in charge of events around the world which he
00:09:33has initiated by his reckless wars of
00:09:37choice on Iran and professor I
00:09:40mean in regards what we know about personality of course on screen and
00:09:44off-screen and the decisions that have uh been or not of course been
00:09:48made by him in that regard from what we have been seeing between Russia and Ukraine and
00:09:52the NATO uh do you think that he's going to go ahead and put up any kind of
00:09:56fight in regards to this decision by Donald
00:09:59Trump? well I mean
00:10:02Trump is lashing out at the moment
00:10:06whether he sticks to this decision or not is another
00:10:10question uh because he has free for changing his
00:10:13mind, mean if we go back not so long ago he had
00:10:17that very loud falling out in the white house but then
00:10:21seem to make up, but yeah mean zelinsky.
00:10:26uh, he he is not of any use, he is a liability to
00:10:30Trump coming up to this mid-term,
00:10:34and I mean, there is no way that Zelinski
00:10:38is any political position to
00:10:41negotiate a sesation to this
00:10:45war, because if he does,
00:10:48those extremist forces in the Kiv regime are
00:10:52likely to kill him, so Zelinski has... to
00:10:55go, he is a rather desperate
00:10:59situation, just like Trump is a desperate situation of a
00:11:03zone making. And my last question, professor, in that
00:11:06regard is, if Zelinski is indeed changed and Ukraine does have
00:11:10new leader, how would that play out in regards to the geopolitical
00:11:14situation, I mean the ongoing war between Russia and
00:11:17Ukraine? Well, I mean, the
00:11:21problem for Trump now is that he he.
00:11:25Maybe understands that Ukraine is definitively
00:11:29losing the war militarily at this stage and a
00:11:33military age and a military
00:11:36defeat uh for a political
00:11:39defeat for not only Ukraine and Europe
00:11:43but the United States too. Trump does not want to be
00:11:46seen holding the bag as they
00:11:50say in English that
00:11:52is to be the one uh his
00:11:55presidency witnesses humiliating
00:11:59defeat that the west has been trying to inflict
00:12:02on Russia. well on that point, as always like to thank you very
00:12:06much for joining us during this hour's bulletin, professor of journalism at Daffadil University in
00:12:10Dalka Bangladesh, Mr. Greg
00:12:12Simons. Crossing now over
00:12:16to a senior unsada law official who has praised the recent victories
00:12:20the Yemani armed forces warning Saudi Arabia will get more
00:12:23painful and design. of blows if it continues its crimes against the
00:12:27people of Yeman. In an online post, Muhammad Ali Al-Huthi
00:12:31further warned that the continuation the Saudi
00:12:34aggression and blockade would bring Riod more humiliating
00:12:38defeats rather than victory. The Supreme Political Council
00:12:42members said Saudis have been committing atrocities against Yemen for
00:12:46the past 12 years and that they brought them no victory. He
00:12:50further condemned the Saudi disregard for Yemani lives as a
00:12:53clear violation. of international law, hoti vowed a
00:12:57continued resistance amid renewed Saudi attacks on his
00:13:01country.
00:13:04Meanwhile, thousands of people have held a protest in the Portuguese
00:13:08capital of Lisbon, as they're unhappy with cost of living, high
00:13:12rents and low
00:13:13wages.
00:13:24Acompanhar.
00:14:12wages are not keeping up with the rising living cost demanding better
00:14:15access to housing and healthcare other Portuguese cities
00:14:19including Porto and Braga witnessed similar
00:14:22demonstrations. The rallies are held as according. to experts, many
00:14:26are forced to remain in their parents homes or live further away from the cities
00:14:30where they work. Analysts say the housing crisis in the European
00:14:33country is compounded by rising food, fuel and
00:14:37energy prices, leaving households with less purchasing
00:14:40power.
00:14:45Thousands of demonstrators have taken to the streets the Turkish city of
00:14:49Istanbul and support of Palestinians demanding an end to
00:14:52Israel's genocidal war on Gaza.
00:15:25game and stop the bloodshed.
00:15:28waving a palestinian and turkish flag's demonstrators marched through
00:15:32Istanbul on the global day of action for Palestine. They called for
00:15:36global pressure on Israel saying that remaining neutral in the face the
00:15:40genocide amounts to complicity. on the third anniversary the
00:15:44beginning the genocidal war, a considerable number of cities around the
00:15:48globe has been the scene of pro- palestine
00:15:51rallies.
00:15:57crossing now over to Venezuela where people have rallied in the capital
00:16:01of Caracus and solidarity with the Palestinian people and to
00:16:04condemn three years of genocide in Gaza. Demonstrators say
00:16:08Palestine has become a symbol of resistance and human
00:16:12dignity, linking the Palestinian struggle against occupation and
00:16:16colonialism to the historical experiences of Latin
00:16:19American
00:16:20people.
00:16:24Well, defending Palestine is, a way, what people today refer to as the
00:16:28cause of humanity, understanding that colonialist actions and acts of
00:16:32occupation are issues that are just as relevant to us as Latin American
00:16:36peoples, so it's a connection.
00:16:37Palestine
00:16:53calls upon and unites critical voices, voices of solidarity
00:16:57and the compassion of peoples and here we are from Venezuela, the
00:17:02for solidarity Venezuelan with
00:17:03movement Palestine
00:17:05and other social organizations, making
00:17:07this exhibition possible. call for solidarity to denounce the genocide, to denounce and
00:17:11demand an end to the genocide that over the past three years,
00:17:14well has claimed the lives of 75,00 people, most
00:17:18them minors, children, mothers, pregnant women and
00:17:22infants, and y
00:17:26lamentablemente no lo podemos aceptar, porque se han cumplido
00:17:30recientemente el 7 de octubre, october 7th, marked the third
00:17:33anniversary of a genocide intensified by the Israeli regime,
00:17:38but we must remember that there have been more than 79 years of apartate
00:17:41occupation and perpetual, flagrant colonialism
00:17:45by the occupying regime which constantly oppresses the
00:17:49Palestinian people. What we have witnessed over the past three years has been an
00:17:52intensification of what Palestinians have actually endured for more than seven
00:17:56decades. So it is a collective responsibility, a
00:18:00global, international responsibility to join our voices and take
00:18:04concrete actions, actions that unite us. through
00:18:07culture, music, activism, calls for boycots, or
00:18:11calls for sanctions, so that international law is respected, so that
00:18:15palestine may be free and sovereign, so that the right of return is
00:18:19fulfilled, and so that, well, finally, Palestine can be free from the
00:18:23river to the sea, well across the
00:18:26United States, protests were held against Washington's complicity in
00:18:30three years of genocide in Gaza, the horrific devastation wage
00:18:34by Israel would not be possible without the weapons and support
00:18:38the United States. Ramen Mazeri has more from Washington
00:18:41DC.
00:18:46Supporters of Palestine across the United States joined the International
00:18:50Global Day of Action on October 10th to finally stopped
00:18:54the U.S. Israeli genocide in Gaza. The global
00:18:57outrage took place on the day of last year's so-called
00:19:01cease fire. Israel has attacked Gaza on almost
00:19:05330 out the path. 365
00:19:09days, killing almost 1,500
00:19:12gazins. For three years, no country other than
00:19:15Israel has been more complicit in the horrors than Washington, where
00:19:19a bipartisan effort has given Israel the military,
00:19:23political and economic support required to murder at
00:19:26least 3% of Gaza's entire population, with
00:19:30the actual figure likely much higher. The generation in
00:19:34America that was raised with the idea that we won the... ideological
00:19:38war and uh we
00:19:39are the good guys that abide by the human rights um
00:19:42have seen definitively that that is false
00:19:45uh the um our leaders whether they are democrat or
00:19:49republican uh do not value human rights or human life? i
00:19:52think it doesn't matter where this democrat or republicans it's unacceptable to
00:19:56fund this this is absolutely horrid
00:19:58and we're watching it live streamed on tiktok instagram and through our phones it's
00:20:02it's absolutely unacceptable and it needs that now in what many believe
00:20:06is a prelute? due to attempt at Israeli occupation,
00:20:1082% of Gaza's buildings have been destroyed,
00:20:13displacing 90% the population, most the water
00:20:17and sanitation network has been demolished, along with
00:20:2190% of schools and 300 journalists have been killed
00:20:24in the last three years, but unlike past Israeli
00:20:28war crimes, this one couldn't be covered up. the social
00:20:32media is on our side now, before it
00:20:35wasn't, um, the... propaganda is less now, people
00:20:39are more aware uh, we definitely won media war,
00:20:43people are more aware of what's going on in palestine, before a lot of people
00:20:47didn't know what's going on, what's actually going on in palestine? In an
00:20:50enormous political shift, polls now show that Americans
00:20:54sympathize more with Palestinians than with Israelis, as
00:20:58the first ever live stream genocide has finally revealed to the
00:21:02entire world what the Zionist imperialist project has
00:21:05always been. Robin Masahari, press TV, Washington
00:21:09DC. Meanwhile, the German
00:21:13capital saw the largest demonstration for Palestine since last year on the
00:21:17global day of action with tens of thousand. marching through
00:21:20Berlin on Saturday, organized by the Coalition United for
00:21:24Palestine, the demonstration was marked by zionist provocations,
00:21:28heavy police presence and several arrests. Our
00:21:31correspondent reports from
00:21:33Berlin.
00:21:38No peace on stolen land was the slogan of this demonstration marking
00:21:42the third anniversary the luxaflot operation in Berlin. According
00:21:46to the organizers around 20,00 participants, answered.
00:22:20Germany continues to kill, displace and destroy. Speakers slammed the
00:22:23ongoing German complicity in the genocide. The country is
00:22:27Israel's second largest arms trader. Despite contrary
00:22:31claims from the government, the arms trade to Israel has further
00:22:35increased since the beginning the year, as late as august of
00:22:39this year, Germany finished manufacturing a new submarine for
00:22:42the Israeli army. The goal of
00:22:46today's demonstration is to mobilize as many people as possible to hold.
00:22:58show that 80% the German population opposes arms shipments to
00:23:01Israel. We are standing here in the government district, directly opposite the
00:23:05chancellor, and it is precisely here that we intend to make those voices heard. Paul
00:23:09showed that the German population is overwhelmingly opposed to German
00:23:13complicity in the genocide, but also to german assistants
00:23:17in the U.S. Israeli aggression against Iran. One them.
00:23:50police presents and several arrests were made for expressing support
00:23:54for the resistance forces and for using the slogan from the river to the sea
00:23:57palestine will be free. natur of course there were
00:24:01some arrests too. unfortunately that is normal in Berlin, but
00:24:05we succeeded because we were able to hold the demonstration. people made their
00:24:09voices heard. we must keep going until the killing stops. that is
00:24:13why i am here today. the united for gaza dem was another strong
00:24:17statement from the german population to their.
00:24:35Well that brings us to the end of this servers bulletin, thank you very much for watching and please stay tuned for
00:24:39latest updates, goodbye for
00:24:40now.
00:25:03three years ago on October 7 the world changed, three
00:25:07years on the anniversary is being marked against
00:25:10backdrop that would have been difficult to imagine
00:25:14before the genocide in Gaza began. Palestine is being
00:25:17recognized by more countries, it's flag is being raised in
00:25:21places where statehood was once beyond imagination,
00:25:25the Palestinian cause has moved into international
00:25:29courts, national parliaments, university campuses
00:25:32and election campaigns and the numbers show
00:25:36just how far it has traveled in 2024 nine
