00:00:19But despite
00:00:20that, especially
00:01:34The decisions of the governors have taken over
00:01:38administrative decisions. We will talk
00:01:41about this entire situation. Dr. Farooq Adil is present with us in the Islam Studio. He is a senior analyst
00:01:45and author. Thank you very much. Humayun Khan is also with us.
00:01:49He is a senior journalist and expert on international affairs. Shanila Mar is also with us.
00:01:53She is a senior journalist and author. Thank you very much
00:01:56to you too. Owais Shirazi is with us. He is an analyst.
00:02:00Dr. Farooq Adil
00:02:02sir.
00:02:06freedom. Let me Kashmiris had a special status. Kashmir had a special status. A disputed territory with more than 17 resolutions
00:02:09in the United Nations. Their
00:02:13right to self-determination was not given first. Then
00:02:16an excuse was made that we will end it soon. We want to develop the infrastructure.
00:02:20Now in this regard, there are bitter experiences from the past.
00:02:24Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti
00:02:27who were in power and played the role of puppets.
00:02:31Today they have realized that development does not do anything.
00:02:34These black laws are actually difficult.
00:02:38Thank you, Doctor sahib. Look, when you were giving the introduction
00:02:41and asking questions, I remembered Ahmed
00:02:45Ben Bella. Ahmed Ben Bella was one of the greatest
00:02:48leaders of Algeria. And you remember that when he was leading
00:02:52the freedom movement there,
00:02:56Pakistan issued him a passport.
00:02:59He said a sentence about occupied Kashmir, in which he says
00:03:03that the ocean has been closed in a small pot. He says that
00:03:06occupied Kashmir is the world's largest open
00:03:10prison, in which there is no concept
00:03:13of human rights left, and
00:03:16people, humanity, understand that human rights
00:03:20have been violated, the dignity
00:03:24of human life has also been destroyed.
00:03:28So this is occupied Kashmir, and this occupied
00:03:32Kashmir, from 1947 and even before that, the Dogra rule
00:03:35and its sale, and that whole
00:03:39story of knowledge is in its place, but
00:03:42after 1947,
00:03:44the story
00:03:46that begins has broken all records.
00:03:50There is no doubt about that. Okay, now you
00:03:53see that when this BJP, this cockroach Janatha Party
00:03:56etc., was fired upon with pellet guns,
00:04:00they realized what a huge
00:04:03violation of human rights and what a huge injustice
00:04:07this is. But you have been firing pellet guns
00:04:10for a long time. Thousands of children have been blinded because of it.
00:04:14Their bodies have been riddled with pellets, and
00:04:18there is a continuous violation of their rights. I am saying
00:04:21this only to make a comparison that
00:04:24look, some methods of oppression
00:04:28are only for occupied Kashmir
00:04:30and nowhere else in India
00:04:34is its existence visible. When the CGP went out of control, they were fired upon.
00:04:39continuing and we are aware of Otherwise, no one in India knows what a pellet gun is. So these are their double standards.
00:04:43The main thing is that
00:04:46how much can you suppress any nation by changing
00:04:50their constitution and their legitimate rights,
00:04:54their status under the United Nations.
00:04:58After
00:05:12this, these different phases, in which their
00:05:16life and spirit of freedom and spirit of liberty
00:05:20has been proven with such determination that the world recognizes
00:05:23it, but anyway, because
00:05:27there were world interests, and in that, the world has double standards.
00:05:33after this battle for truth, the
00:05:37stature that Pakistan gained
00:05:39and especially the world realized
00:05:43that Pakistan was attacked for no reason.
00:05:47In fact, the Indian state itself commits terrorism. Okay, Doctor sahib, I will continue
00:05:51what you are saying. Humayun Khan, you talked about double standards.
00:05:55On one hand, after the League of Nations, the purpose of its establishment
00:05:58was to protect the devastation of war,
00:06:02territorial integrity and sovereignty. This was the aim under which
00:06:05the UN was established. Then the UN
00:06:08Charter, and if we talk about its Article 52, where you will find...
00:07:12gentlemen, very warm good morning,
00:07:16we begin with the opening statement: I welcome you all to the ministry of foreign
00:07:20affairs. Ladies and gentlemen, prime minister, his
00:07:23excellency, mr. Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif will undertake an official
00:07:27visit to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 6th
00:07:31to 8th August 2026. This is starting
00:07:34today. He will be accompanied by a high level
00:07:38delegation, comprising the deputy prime minister and
00:07:41foreign minister, sir and the chief
00:07:44of army staff and the chief of defense forces
00:07:47and other ministers.
00:07:51The DPM will join the delegation from Madina
00:07:54Munawwara where he made a brief stop over after
00:07:57concluding his visit to Jordan for the ministerial meeting on
00:08:01Palestine and Jerusalem.
00:08:05During the visit, the prime minister, during the visit to
00:08:08Saudi Arabia, the prime minister will meet his royal highness,
00:08:17and the prime minister of Saudi Arabia.
00:08:19Discussion will focus on consolidating the Pakistan, Saudi
00:08:23Arabia bilateral relationships
00:08:26as well as exchange of views on areas of regional
00:08:30and international developments of mutual interest. The visit
00:08:34marks Pakistan's longstanding partnership with the kingdom of Saudi
00:08:37Arabia anchored in decades of mutual
00:08:41trust, cooperation,
00:08:43and brotherhood. Although taking place against the
00:08:47backdrop of heightened tensions in the Gulf, the
00:08:50visit will carry immense significance
00:08:53beyond the immediate crisis and short term
00:08:57considerations. It will further strengthen bilateral
00:09:00relations, deepen strategic cooperation,
00:09:03enhance coordination on regional and international issues of
00:09:07mutual interest, and also reinforce
00:09:10multilateral cooperation.
00:09:13Ladies and gentlemen, Pakistan remained engaged alongside with
00:09:17brotherly countries in our sincere efforts to resolve the
00:09:21crisis in the Gulf and the Middle East, especially with
00:09:24respect to the standoff in the Strait of
00:09:27Hormuz. As a littoral state, overlooking
00:09:30the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf, Oman
00:09:34has, let me, let us add that Oman has
00:09:37consistently played a very constructive role in promoting regional
00:09:41peace and stability. "Pakistan acknowledges and deeply
00:09:45appreciates Oman's valuable contribution in its steadfast
00:09:48efforts to further to foster de-escalation and
00:09:52peaceful coexistence.
00:09:54Pakistan will continue to actively pursue diplomatic engagements and
00:09:58support all sincere efforts
00:10:01aimed at achieving comprehensive, just, and lasting
00:10:05resolution to this conflict.
00:10:09And in the same way, and in the context of our own
00:10:12efforts, on the 30th July, the foreign, the
00:10:16deputy prime minister and foreign minister held an important telephone
00:10:20conversation with the foreign minister of kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince
00:10:23Faisal bin Farhan.
00:10:26They exchanged views on regional developments including the situation
00:10:29in the Red Sea, Babal Mandab, and as well as in
00:10:33Palestine,
00:10:35and on June 3rd, and on August 3rd, 2026, the deputy prime
00:10:39minister, foreign minister held a telephone conversation with the foreign minister of the
00:10:43Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyad Abbas Arakchi. The two
00:10:47leaders discussed regional international developments including
00:10:50the deteriorating situation in the occupied
00:10:54Palestinian territories, countries, and east Jerusalem. The
00:10:57DPM also invited the foreign minister of Iran to
00:11:01visit Pakistan.
00:11:03Ladies and gentlemen, this week the deputy prime minister and foreign
00:11:07minister undertook an important visit to
00:11:09Jordan at the invitation of the deputy prime minister and minister
00:11:13of foreign affairs of Jordan, Mr. Ayman
00:11:16Safadi. The DPM
00:11:20visited Jordan. Most of his activities were on the 5th of
00:11:23August. To participate in the ministerial
00:11:27meeting on Jerusalem, so this was the primary purpose. The
00:11:30meeting brought together Arab
00:11:33League member states and selected Islamic countries to coordinate
00:11:37a unified response to the deteriorating
00:11:40situation in the occupied Jerusalem.
00:11:44Pakistan's participation reaffirmed our steadfast
00:11:47support for the Palestinian people and its
00:11:50commitment to establishment of an independent, sovereign,
00:11:53contiguous state of Palestine, as per
00:11:571967 borders with Al
00:12:00Quds Al Sharif as its capital. On the
00:12:03sidelines of the meeting, the deputy prime minister foreign minister held
00:12:06bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers of Jordan,
00:12:10Turkiye, Egypt, Algeria, Iraq, and
00:12:13Somalia. The foreign ministers of R4
00:12:16countries, R4, as you know, ladies and gentlemen, is a grouping of four countries
00:12:20comprising Pakistan,
00:12:24Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. So these
00:12:27these foreign ministers of these four countries met for the fifth
00:12:30time since since the inception of this
00:12:34group. The meeting took place in Jordan on the 5th of
00:12:37August. The ministers reaffirmed their
00:12:40unwavering support for the inalienable right of the
00:12:43Palestinian people, including their right to self
00:12:46determination and the establishment of an independent sovereign Palestinian
00:12:50state. They stressed that a
00:12:53comprehensive and lasting resolution of Palestinian
00:12:56question remains essential for achieving
00:12:59durable peace and stability in the Middle East. The ministers also
00:13:03reviewed regional situation and underscored the importance of
00:13:06continued consultation, close coordination, and
00:13:10diplomacy to promote regional peace, security,
00:13:13stability, and de-escalation.
00:13:17Another important development, ladies and gentlemen, this week was the
00:13:21fourth round of Pakistan-US counter-terrorism dialogue.
00:13:26This this was convened in Washington D.C. this
00:13:29week and our ambassador
00:13:33uh Nabil Munir, special secretary of UN, led our
00:13:36delegation. The dialogue underscored shared interest
00:13:40in of the US-Pakistan
00:13:43sides on counter-terrorism partnership and and our
00:13:47determination of the two countries to confront terrorism.
00:13:51Delegates exchanged views on the current threat environment, explored
00:13:55avenues of enhanced collaboration, and discussed
00:13:58steps to to further strengthen border security
00:14:01and disrupt terrorist facilitation
00:14:05networks across the region. The United
00:14:09States and Pakistan reaffirmed their
00:14:12joint resolve to confront terrorist
00:14:14organizations that endanger the safety of their citizens and the
00:14:18stability of the region, specifically including
00:14:22ISIS Khorasan, Al-Qaeda. Pakistan
00:14:33and Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Australia held
00:14:36two important dialogues. One was the official talks, this is kind
00:14:40of a bilateral political consultations
00:14:44at the senior officials level. And the second was the joint trade committee meeting in
00:14:48Canberra. This was on the 4th of August. The two
00:14:51sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and discussed
00:14:55ways to enhance cooperation in in political,
00:14:58economic, trade, security, and regional domains. Both
00:15:01countries reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening their
00:15:05bilateral partnerships. And finally,
00:15:09we all celebrated,
00:15:12commemorated Sal, observed it
00:15:16marking the fifth, the seventh anniversary of
00:15:19Indian illegal and unilateral action of 5th
00:15:22August 20, 2019, in the Indian illegally
00:15:26occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan
00:15:29reaffirmed its unwavering support for the Kashmiri people's
00:15:32inalienable right to self- determination in accordance with the
00:15:35relevant UN Security Council
00:15:38resolutions. So with this, ladies and gentlemen, I conclude my opening
00:15:42remarks and open the floor for question
00:15:45answers.
00:15:53Thanks. So you have seen the
00:15:55reaction by the Indian
00:15:59MSON
00:16:02on ongoing process of elections and
00:16:06leave your reaction.
00:16:10Yes, we have seen those those statements. Pakistan
00:16:13categorically rejects the baseless and politic politically
00:16:17motivated remarks by the Indian Ministry for
00:16:21Ministry of External Affairs regarding the ongoing legislative
00:16:24assembly elections in Azad Jammu and
00:16:27Kashmir. It is unsurprising that
00:16:31India has chosen to issue such remarks on the
00:16:35eve of the seventh anniversary of its illegal and unilateral actions of
00:16:385th August through which it sought it seeks
00:16:42to alter the internationally recognized
00:16:45disputed status of Jammu and
00:16:48Kashmir. These statements, those actions
00:16:51were a flagrant violation of the relevant Security Council resolutions,
00:16:55international law and India's own international
00:16:58commitments. The elections in in
00:17:02to the 13th legislative assembly of Azad Jammu and
00:17:05Kashmir are being conducted in
00:17:07a peaceful, transparent, and orderly manner, in accordance with the
00:17:10constitutional and legal framework governing the
00:17:14AJK. They reflect democratic
00:17:17aspirations and political will of the
00:17:21people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. India has
00:17:23neither the legal standing nor the moral
00:17:27authority to comment to comment on
00:17:31democratic process in AJK while it
00:17:33continues to deny the people of Indian illegally occupied
00:17:37Kashmir the fundamental political rights
00:17:40and democratic
00:17:43add that no amount of misinformation or or
00:17:46propaganda can alter the legal and historical reality that Jammu and
00:17:50Kashmir remains an internationally recognized disputed
00:17:53territory and its final disposition is to be determined in
00:17:57accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council
00:18:00Resolutions as well as the freely expressed will of the
00:18:04Kashmiri people through the UN administered.
00:18:08India's attempt to invoke misleading
00:18:11casualty figures cannot obscure its own well
00:18:14documented record of serious and systematic human
00:18:18rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and
00:18:22Kashmir. These includes and are well documented
00:18:25including extrajudicial killings, arbitrary detentions, and
00:18:29forced disappearances, effective punishment and restriction
00:18:33restriction of fundamental freedoms, and
00:18:36more significantly, to alter the demographic composition in the
00:18:40occupied occupied territories in
00:18:44contravention to the international law. So such statements are clearly
00:18:47intended to deflect international attention from India's
00:18:50continued violation of international human
00:18:54human rights and humanitarian law, as well as its
00:18:57persistent failure to fulfill
00:19:00international obligations.
00:19:03Pakistan would therefore reiterate its call on India to reverse the
00:19:06illegal action,
00:19:09create an environment conducive to peaceful settlement of the
00:19:12issue of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the
00:19:16relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
00:19:31Pakistan has had any official contact or engagement with
00:19:35Bangladesh since yesterday. Address that
00:19:38was there of the excise
00:19:41and there were some comments made about Pakistan.
00:19:45Have we had any engagement with that or are we still
00:19:48consider it an internal issue for
00:19:51Bangladesh?
00:19:53Well, of course our diplomatic engagement with
00:19:56Bangladesh continues. So they are not, they are not
00:20:00bound by one single event, they are
00:20:03bound or constrained by one single event. So I'm sure
00:20:06the diplomatic engagement between the two
00:20:09sides through normal diplomatic channels in Dhaka
00:20:13and Islamabad are
00:20:17the developments, particularly with
00:20:20reference to the event
00:20:21yesterday.
00:20:24We we do not interfere in internal affairs
00:20:27of other countries and as such we do not have any
00:20:31comment to offer. The
00:20:33fact that this statement was made from India is a matter of
00:20:37between those two countries, Bangladesh and India.
00:20:41Let me add that people of Bangladesh are fully
00:20:44capable to resolve their issues
00:20:47independently without external interference. We
00:20:51respect their sovereign choices and will continue to
00:20:54cooperate with them in the journey towards
00:20:58progress and prosperity.
00:21:10Thank you so much. The Indian Ministry
00:21:14Spokesperson has
00:21:17usually rejected these comments made by.
00:21:33Yes, we saw the statement issued this
00:21:35morning
00:21:38by the Indian MEA. We categorically reject the
00:21:42statements and its self-serving
00:21:44eulogy of India's illegal actions of 5th
00:21:48August 2019. The Indian leadership has been expressing
00:21:51this self-serving eulogy
00:21:54of India's actions. No unilateral
00:21:57action by India, nor any amount of rhetoric can alter
00:22:01the internationally recognized disputed status of Jammu and
00:22:04Kashmir or deny the people of Jammu and
00:22:07Kashmir their inalienable right under
00:22:11international law and relevant UN Security Council resolution.
00:22:15The reality in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir is
00:22:19that prolonged and heavy military
00:22:21presence,
00:22:24coupled with draconian laws continue to facilitate
00:22:28demographic change aimed at altering the territory
00:22:31of Muslim majority, the territory's Muslim majority
00:22:35character. At the same time, systemic
00:22:38efforts persist to suppress the voices of Kashmiri
00:22:42people and erase their distinct identity. The
00:22:45claims of so-called development cannot
00:22:48substitute for the inalienable right of the people of Jammu and
00:22:52Kashmir to determine their own future through a free and impartial plebiscite
00:22:55under the auspices of the United Nations in in accordance with the UN
00:22:59Security Council resolutions. So we remain
00:23:02unwavering in our support for the just struggle of the people
00:23:05of Jammu and Kashmir and we call upon India to reverse its
00:23:09illegal and unilateral measures and its human rights
00:23:13violation and engage in the peaceful resolution of Jammu and
00:23:17Kashmir in accordance with the relevant UN Security.
00:24:05The meeting will discuss bilateral relations, matters of mutual interest and areas
00:24:08of cooperation. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas
00:24:12Araqchi also had a telephonic conversation. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar
00:24:15has made an important visit to Jordan. Deputy Spokesperson, Spokesperson Foreign
