00:00:27has a project for the community to take care of
00:00:30green spaces, and in Paredes we visit the new city museum

00:02:49More than a hundred and a half farmers
00:02:51last about a month, at the end of gathered this morning next to parliament to demand support
00:02:54measures for the sector. They are claiming 140 million euros.
00:02:58RTP knows that a meeting is already scheduled for the 29th of this month
00:03:03and tomorrow's mass on October between the government, producers, and distributors to discuss the crisis in production
00:03:07costs.
00:03:10The food basket has almost everything, and
00:03:13almost everything is not too much, but
00:03:16production, say the farmers, is starting to
00:03:19fail, and they feel and complain about the loss of
00:03:23competitiveness. They want 140 million
00:03:27Fátima for the October euros to give new life to the sector. A
00:03:30very serious crisis of the
00:03:33sea agitation comes from increase in production factors, the government has not reacted
00:03:36adequately to
00:03:38they eat it in this crisis. What we came to do is alert the parties, especially
00:03:46If you have just joined us, I invite you to celebrations are invited to at a time when the It's Monday, that's why it's the day state budget is beginning to be discussed and measures are needed to maintain the competitiveness of
00:03:48Portuguese agriculture. What we want is not
00:03:51subsidies, what we want is for Portuguese
00:03:56then farmers to be able to compete with farmers from other countries. The
00:04:00request for help and support was
00:04:03during the mass of October 13th, made next to parliament by more than a hundred and a half producers
00:04:06from all over the country
00:04:07small garden, was
00:04:08Finland, that's right, the who wanted to deliver their demands to the president
00:04:11of the Assembly of the Republic, to the political parties, and we hope
00:04:15A balance was sought between the that they will listen to us now if they only listen to us, this is the
00:04:18beginning of a struggle that today takes its first step here. We came here
00:04:22in an orderly fashion as associative leaders. We hope that this will be
00:04:26enough, otherwise count on us. We will not
00:04:28stop... until we have competitive conditions. I call attention here
00:04:31to the fact that the trade balance is
00:04:36is located. The correct sinking, the agricultural trade balance with Spain.
00:04:39We are importing more products from Spain and exporting less,
00:04:43and small farmers are the most vulnerable here. The
00:04:47difference with what happens in Spain was
00:04:49inevitable. The support for the demand for more
00:04:53funds is given by the
00:04:56a viewpoint over the European Commission itself, the European Commission itself that
00:04:58says we are facing a crisis of exceptional
00:05:02gravity, and therefore we, the European
00:05:05Commission, authorize member states to support
00:05:09their farmers with a certain percentage, not...
00:05:42Fernandes says it's 200 million since the government took office and
00:05:46there are another 162 million that will be approved this
00:05:50year. What I told you is very
00:05:53clear, we increased the farmer's income by more than
00:05:57200 million euros per year, which we did at the right
00:06:01time, with criticism from the
00:06:05Socialist Party and Chega, and now for
00:06:082027, but the approval is now.
00:06:12We cannot anticipate that because it is a possibility that the
00:06:16European regulation gives us. There will be another 162 million
00:06:20euros to support income, and
00:06:23I insisted on a point that is obvious, we had a series of
00:06:26storms, there was an additional effort of 250 million euros
00:06:30from the state budget also and from
00:06:33European funds worth 200 million. I didn't tell you about the credit
00:06:37lines where the credit lines with our
00:06:40guarantees in 2026, the year, are also
00:06:43more than 430 million euros. We are doing our
00:06:46best, but I understand that there are farmers in
00:06:48difficulty, but unfortunately, I'm going to tell you
00:06:52this, those who are in the greatest difficulties are those who have the least
00:06:56voice.
00:07:00remove the tents from the camp set up in downtown Porto.
00:07:03The protest for the right to housing began on Saturday and
00:07:07continues this afternoon.
00:07:10The protest for the right to housing gathered hundreds of
00:07:13people and more than 50 tents in Praça Dom João I in
00:07:17Porto since Saturday, a peaceful demonstration that
00:07:21surprised everyone in the early hours of the morning with
00:07:25the intervention of the municipal police. The police
00:07:28arrived here and initially informed us that we could keep the food that was
00:07:32kindly donated by many institutions, even restaurants, and that we had
00:07:36to remove the tent. Ah, then later
00:07:38eh they ended up telling us
00:07:42that... eh they were going to start removing the tents, and many tents are there, they went to
00:07:46the trash eh with new pretenses, there was no justification, the
00:07:49justification is that I genuinely believe that there was already a
00:07:53massive popular power happening, maybe it was bothering
00:07:56someone, because everything we did was visible yesterday,
00:08:00there was a popular assembly open to everyone, people came here, gave
00:08:03their ideas, told their stories and felt heard for the first
00:08:07time instead of voting every four years for a party that then doesn't keep its
00:08:11promises, well... municipal wouldn't have a, doesn't have a mandate to
00:08:14touch our things. Municipal police asked us to remove our
00:08:18tents, we were doing it in an orderly, calm way, and at
00:08:22the scene there were also teams from the Public Security Police
00:08:25in a surveillance role without any intervention
00:08:29having occurred. The encampment follows the
00:08:32demonstrations that took place throughout the country, with thousands of people
00:08:36demanding changes in access to housing. I am
00:08:39here because housing conditions in Portugal, Porto, in Portugal in
00:08:43general, have reached an absurd level where
00:08:46on average, the average salary is no longer enough to pay the rent of a house in
00:08:50Porto or Lisbon, eh, we are here to
00:08:53protest the fact that we are young, we want a country to live in,
00:08:56we want a country with living conditions and above all
00:08:59we want to receive a decent salary and we want to be able to have a house with that salary like everyone
00:09:03else. I am a living example of this, a young
00:09:07worker, I am currently paying €890
00:09:10for a studio apartment, and... This makes no sense, and now
00:09:14the laws that are going to be approved in the legislative assembly are
00:09:18absurd. We have 400 and something left to
00:09:21pay for water, electricity, internet, food,
00:09:25and how do we live? We just survive. New protests
00:09:29by this civil society movement
00:09:33for the right to housing are planned, on Wednesday, an assembly is already
00:09:36scheduled to take place in the city of
00:09:40Porto.
00:09:44Sofia, good afternoon, is the protest
00:09:46going to continue?
00:09:50Good afternoon, yes, it's going to continue. At the moment, eh,
00:09:53you don't see as much commotion here in the center of Praça Dom João I,
00:09:57as eh, as the police already mentioned, they also ordered
00:10:01that all the material they had here, from tables,
00:10:04chairs, and also food, be removed. Eh, meanwhile, the
00:10:07protesters removed some things they wanted to protect,
00:10:11others they left. So there is already a certain climate of tension
00:10:14I would say, eh, but nothing better than talking to a protester
00:10:18here, eh Leonor, do you think at this moment, do you consider
00:10:22that the tension has escalated a little eh between protesters and
00:10:26police or is everything peaceful for now? I would say that for now everything is peaceful and if
00:10:29anything escalated, it was the police's action since 6:30 in the morning that has been
00:10:33bothering and intimidating us in several actions, always
00:10:37saying different things, always alleging different legal things. Eh, on our part, it has
00:10:40been pacifism, eh
00:10:43and we are here trying to explain to the agents that we have the right to
00:10:47demonstrate, it is a constitutional right eh present in the constitution
00:10:51eh the issue of occupying public space here does not apply, we are only
00:10:55with tables, we are with tents, but
00:10:58if in the morning there was an agreement by the protesters in
00:11:01relation to the order to remove the tents, at this moment they removed
00:11:05some tables, some objects, but not all, eh, that's why I
00:11:08ask if there is some tension growing here, why didn't they remove all the
00:11:11materials until now? We didn't remove all the materials because the
00:11:15orders were eh changing and escalating. On Saturday
00:11:18we received instructions from the police that we could have the tents if we didn't have the
00:11:22banners, ah, today in the morning we received... an indication that we could have the
00:11:26food awnings if we didn't have the tents, then that we could have the tables if we didn't
00:11:30have the awnings, and now we can't have the tables, and soon people won't be able to be
00:11:34in a square in the middle of the afternoon eh in a city in
00:11:37a public space. Thank you very much, Leonor, here then the testimony of a
00:11:41protester eh who eh believes that these
00:11:46the police make no sense, also stressing
00:11:50why they are keeping some objects here that
00:11:53eh they were asked to... remove eh from this
00:11:56square. I also have with me right now the lawyer, one of
00:11:59the lawyers eh who represent eh this group
00:12:02of protesters. Eh I asked him because eh we
00:12:05also had the opportunity to speak with some protesters who told us that the action
00:12:09the police took here this morning with the removal of the tents was
00:12:12illegal. I asked him then eh why it is
00:12:15illegal. Well, first of all for several
00:12:18reasons. The first is that this demonstration was eh
00:12:22convened through a perfectly legal advance notice. Eh
00:12:25during Saturday, then we had Sunday, people continued, I don't
00:12:29know, an organic movement, let's say.
00:12:32Then they would naturally wait for the 2nd, Monday, the opening
00:12:36of the respective space eh to continue
00:12:40that same eh eh request for demonstration. What is
00:12:44certain is that when the police arrive here,
00:12:47any document that would support
00:12:50entry here at the demonstration, whether it was the PSP
00:12:54police or the municipal police, they presented nothing. That is, no
00:12:57justification was given, besides the fact that the force used was
00:13:01completely disproportionate, that is, the protesters are
00:13:04perfectly organized here, without any
00:13:07problem, peacefully in fact, I think everyone
00:13:11has that notion, and therefore, appearing here in this
00:13:14completely disproportionate way made
00:13:17no sense. In fact, the council, I think,
00:13:20will have issued a statement a little while ago, saying that the protesters were here
00:13:24legally endangering the safety of the space. I don't see where
00:13:27what I gathered from the
00:13:31police officers who were present here, eh, who are still
00:13:35here, in fact, eh, was that it was an illegal encampment.
00:13:38There are areas eh in cities where it is not
00:13:42allowed to set up camp. What is illegal here from their point of view
00:13:46then? So here the police say it was an encampment, it doesn't look
00:13:50like an encampment. It's a very different circumstance. Encampments
00:13:53imply a whole other logistics, a whole other... but there were
00:13:57about 50 tents here. All right, but if
00:14:00we look at all the encampments that are around the country, there aren't many,
00:14:03fortunately, but the ones that exist, the characteristics are not exactly
00:14:07the same as these, and therefore it was here under the cover of a right to
00:14:10demonstrate that took place during Saturday,
00:14:13Sunday, as was said, it is a non-working day too,
00:14:17it would naturally be the continuation today, tomorrow,
00:14:21Wednesday, whatever. Now, we cannot arrive at a space that
00:14:24is... public alleging, at least at the
00:14:27time there was no such allegation that is now made by the Porto City Council
00:14:31and come here and leave because the tents have to be removed. Now, when I
00:14:34remove something that is already previously authorized, I have to have a
00:14:38legitimate order that allows me to act. Thank you very much,
00:14:41doctor, here the clarification from the
00:14:44lawyer who represents this group, a group of protesters who remain
00:14:48here in the square.
00:14:50They will remain throughout the day today. We still don't know until what time,
00:14:54we still don't know... what their plans are, and all of that will be decided at
00:14:58the assembly they will hold at 7 pm
00:15:08Diário de Coimbra to learn about the topics that are news
00:15:16a controversy today marking this day in
00:15:19Coimbra. Good afternoon, first of all, I thank
00:15:23once again the opportunity given to Diário de Coimbra to participate and to
00:15:27report eh what tomorrow's edition of Diário de
00:15:30Coimbra will be. It is true, there was a controversy this morning when deputies
00:15:34eh a group of of of...
00:15:37supporters of Chega, led by deputy
00:15:40and eh Rita Matias and also by Madalena Correia
00:15:44invaded the building of the Academic Association of Coimbra,
00:15:47eh they entered the studios of Rádio Universidade de
00:15:51Coimbra where a broadcast was taking place eh with the presence
00:15:55of representatives of the youth wings of several parties. Chega,
00:15:58according to what was reported by elements of
00:16:01RUC, will have eh invited, Chega
00:16:04will have been invited to participate online in this debate once.
00:16:07There is a decision by the General Assembly that Chega
00:16:11is not welcome in the Academic Association building
00:16:15nor at academic activities. It is true that this protest
00:16:18by these elements of Chega ended up causing the PSP
00:16:22to go to the scene. Diário de Coimbra also visited the building of the
00:16:26academic association, interviewed the various
00:16:29intervenients in this episode, eh we have been
00:16:32obviously online reporting everything that has been said about this
00:16:36episode. Also in tomorrow's edition of Diário de Coimbra we will report
00:16:39all the different views, all the perspectives eh
00:16:43of this controversy that took place this morning in the building
00:16:46of the academic association. Eh, besides that, Diário de Coimbra also
00:16:50reports on a topic that has been eh
00:16:54debated in various sectors of society and that is
00:16:57also eh quite debated in universities,
00:17:00which is the fact that is digital
00:17:03literacy, artificial intelligence.
00:17:08The University of Coimbra reported that eh it will be eh
00:17:11the coordinator of a national network of eh
00:17:14a network for the responsible use of artificial
00:17:17intelligence in higher education institutions. Eh it will announce
00:17:21this network next Thursday here in Coimbra with the presence of
00:17:24various representatives of higher education institutions, other
00:17:28entities, and also with the participation of several
00:17:31personalities, namely António Guterres, eh eh
00:17:35Secretary-General of the UN, who eh will present a
00:17:38recording with his declaration. Eh we also followed
00:17:41or are following a trial
00:17:45of a condominium manager. She is accused of
00:17:49diverting eh several thousands of euros
00:17:52from buildings that eh she managed and yes
00:17:55we also followed an fire eh with
00:17:59particular concern because it is a fire in a parish of
00:18:03Coimbra, Taveiro, eh the fire
00:18:06caused some damage to the structure and forced
00:18:09the municipal civil protection to demolish eh the
00:18:13building, the structure, and therefore it gave some work to the firefighters.
00:18:17These were some of the
00:18:20highlights eh that are tomorrow in the print edition of Diário de
00:18:23Coimbra and that are all online so that you can also eh, those who
00:18:27can see our website can eh see and
00:18:38Açoriano Oriental, which writes that the Azores Sea School has already trained more than
00:18:412,400 people. In 4 years there were more
00:18:45than 170 training actions in areas such as
00:18:48safety and survival at sea, navigation, fishing, also
00:18:52operation of port equipment and naval
00:18:55construction and repair. On the website, on the website of
00:18:58Rádio PAC there is a curious report about Japanese cows that fatten up in
00:19:02the shade of Alqueva, listen to classical music, drink
00:19:05beer and only go to slaughter after 30
00:19:09months. They are cows of a breed that came from Japan, the
00:19:12Wagyu. The Portuguese Association of breeders of these cattle was founded
00:19:16in 2017, and today has 300 animals. The
00:19:20Jornal Nordeste says that the chestnut of Terra Fria is highlighted as the
00:19:24best in the world by the Atlas text, associated with the Longal
00:19:27variety and the Trás-os-Montes region. The Transmontana
00:19:30Chestnut thus gains international
00:19:33recognition.
00:20:27know which of these hypotheses is correct. We'll be back after the
00:20:30break. Stay
00:20:31tuned.
00:25:49ah.
00:28:25We are back on Portugal em Rede. Three Romanian
00:28:29workers died and three others were injured this afternoon in.
00:28:33The work accident happened at a construction site in Quinta do Lago, in the municipality
00:28:42before one in the afternoon and the three deaths were declared at the scene. We are talking about three
00:28:46foreign workers eh who were doing the
00:28:49maintenance of a water reservoir in this villa in Quinta do Lago, municipality of
00:28:53Loulé, where we are now, and entities between 21
00:28:57and 40 years old, eh they were also accompanied by three other
00:29:00colleagues eh aged around... 50 years old who were assisted at the scene but who
00:29:04did not present any injuries, and the causes of this work
00:29:08accident are currently being investigated eh by the Authority for Working Conditions
00:29:11which has already sent some of its members to the scene
00:29:15eh at this particular scene there were also members of the GNR eh accompanied by several
00:29:19vehicles hh also INEM and the
00:29:21firefighters.
00:29:24The pilgrims, pilgrims, begin to arrive at the Sanctuary of
00:29:29pilgrimage, and this year Carolina, good afternoon. A special
00:29:33prayer is planned for the Pope who will be
00:29:35operated on.
00:29:40Good afternoon, in this pilgrimage, the participants in the
00:29:45pray for the Pope's health. It is an intention that
00:29:48is especially included in these
00:29:51celebrations of these two days and just now a prayer
00:29:55was heard eh for the Pope's health in the Eucharistic
00:29:58procession that is now taking place later tonight in the...
00:30:02celebration of the word and also tomorrow
00:30:05this prayer for the recovery of Leo
00:30:0914 will be included in a specific moment
00:30:12of the universal prayer. It is
00:30:15customary in the history of this sanctuary to have
00:30:18prayers for the Pope, for the mission he performs, but this
00:30:22time the invitation is for the pilgrims present
00:30:26to pray specifically for the health, for the recovery of the
00:30:29Pope. Now, we went precisely. to check the
00:30:33pulse of the people we found here during the day, the pilgrims
00:30:37we heard, we listened to, they
00:30:40told us how they are experiencing this news,
00:30:43how they are dealing with this expectation
00:30:47regarding the Pope's health.
00:30:48Pope.
00:30:51As always we pray for him, but in a special way we ask
00:30:55for the intentions of the Holy Father and for the health of the Holy Father at this
00:30:58moment. Let's hope, as the people already tell us, that he will jump over this
00:31:01hurdle quickly. With some
00:31:04concern, eh, he is a
00:31:07young man, it's not yet
00:31:10eh, it always requires some kind of
00:31:13care, but "I believe he will be able
00:31:17to overcome it and we include him in our prayers and besides
00:31:20all friends and family, we also include the Pope's health, that
00:31:24everything goes well and everything will certainly go well,
00:31:27let's see if he is still here. Our Holy Father was always a
00:31:31man since he was elected, we got used to seeing him with that
00:31:35smile, that spontaneity, that
00:31:38joyful way of living, I never thought that from one moment
00:31:42to another we would have this news, in some way he admires..." the way he broke the
00:31:46news, the open and frank way he spoke, to all
00:31:49pilgrims, to all Catholics, to the whole world after all, he is a man
00:31:53I admire a lot,
00:31:56Leo XIV announced yesterday that he will undergo
00:32:00surgery to remove a lung nodule
00:32:04and it has since been learned that his hospitalization is scheduled
00:32:08for tomorrow, it is expected that the post-operative period will require the Pope
00:32:11to stay hospitalized for at least a week.
00:32:15That is the expectation and the topic ends up marking this
00:32:18October pilgrimage. Still this afternoon, at the traditional
00:32:22press conference that always marks each
00:32:26beginning of pilgrimage, the Bishop of
00:32:29Leiria, Fátima, wanted to speak about the matter, expressed here
00:32:33Fátima's solidarity with Leo XIV's clinical situation
00:32:36and also showed hope
00:32:40for positive news and
00:32:44it is a condition. The condition of being ill, of being
00:32:48weakened, which he shared
00:32:51with humanity and particularly
00:32:54with the church, asking us to pray for him
00:32:58and we here in Fátima
00:33:01particularly always with the attention that Fátima
00:33:04also paid to the figure of the Holy Father, we are very
00:33:08solidary with him. Our
00:33:11prayer that comes from here, that
00:33:14rises to God and that involves so many people in the church
00:33:17in the world, we hope that we can have good
00:33:21news from this to develop from this
00:33:25situation concerning our Holy Father and as
00:33:28a church we pray for the successor of
00:33:31Peter.
00:33:34Also at this press conference, the rector of the
00:33:37Sanctuary of Fátima, Father Carlos Cabecinhas, was again questioned about
00:33:41the invitation that is already known has been made for the Pope to visit
00:33:45Fátima next year. Now, the Rector of the Sanctuary again
00:33:48emphasized the hope that this may happen,
00:33:52if not next year, at another time, but
00:33:54emphasizing this conviction that even with this health
00:33:58problem, the hope for that invitation
00:34:02and that this invitation can be accepted, remains. Now,
00:34:05as for the celebrations themselves, they take place, as
00:34:08is customary every October 12th and 13th, the
00:34:12highlights are tonight. The candle procession
00:34:1813th culminating with the farewell procession,
00:34:22in what is the last great pilgrimage of the year to the Sanctuary of
00:34:26Fátima in a cycle of six great
00:34:29international anniversary pilgrimages that traditionally
00:34:33begin in May and end in
00:34:43Rocha gardens are three new spaces created next to the Guarda ecovia.
00:34:46This is an initiative of the municipality to
00:34:49celebrate the week of the Estrela Geopark of
00:34:53geodiversity. It's a project, Jorge Esteves, that will also
00:34:56involve schools.
00:35:00Here we are next to the upper
00:35:03garden, it represents the highest part of Serra
00:35:07Estrela, it has rocks, it has water, it has some
00:35:10plants. We'll understand how all this is intended to be linked this
00:35:14week. in which the municipality of Guarda intends to celebrate
00:35:17geodiversity and also the Estrela World Geopark in a
00:35:21project that was carried out with the municipality's own resources in
00:35:25three areas of the city, all next to the ecovia and the Guarda
00:35:29outer ring road in
00:35:31and spaces that also aim to be pedagogical with children but also with
00:35:35adults. Yes, this is a project that was born to celebrate
00:35:39Geodiversity Week
00:35:41and from the beginning it was intended to associate
00:35:46it with a project that would remain on the ground for the future, to associate the pedagogical
00:35:49component because we think it's important that children and through children also
00:35:53parents and society as a whole know Serra Estrela because
00:35:57knowing, only by knowing, do you value the
00:36:00heritage that is Serra Estrela, here in these three
00:36:04gardens we tried to symbolize and a bit
00:36:08not the ecosystems associated with the three
00:36:11levels in Serra Estrela, not only the rocks but also. all
00:36:15the biodiversity in terms of plants, of
00:36:18animals, even of the existence of biodiversity that
00:36:22exists associated with water courses and what species are endangered and that
00:36:26it is important to know. to protect, of course, all of our Serra
00:36:29Estrela is a territory
00:36:33with many species and that
00:36:37are increasingly threatened by these climate
00:36:40changes that we see all over the world and it is in this sense
00:36:44that we try to make these gardens known to promote
00:36:48also by knowing, preserving these
00:36:51ecosystems so important in the mountains in which the municipality used its own
00:36:54resources, its technicians,
00:36:58give this new beauty to spaces that
00:37:02needed to be requalified, yes, this is also one of the
00:37:05objectives of the projects we have been developing for the past three years
00:37:09in Geodiversity Week, there are already three spaces that
00:37:12we have recovered over these three years and this year with the help
00:37:15of the gardens service team we recovered three
00:37:19spaces that were mistreated along
00:37:21the ecovia in three fantastic
00:37:24and beautiful spaces with...
00:37:28with a lot to
00:37:28learn,
00:37:32there are three thematic gardens, let's say, that are not
00:37:36limited to being contemplative gardens, they are gardens that
00:37:39teach us to better know our mountains, that was the objective in
00:37:43which pedagogy is very evident, they also involve the
00:37:46pedagogical forest space itself, Quinta da Maunça, which is owned by the municipality
00:37:50and that has schools all year round having
00:37:53actions that can now also pass through these three new gardens.
00:37:57Yes, this educational part was also thought of, in the
00:38:01end this project will result in a book
00:38:05that will be in a QR code later in each of the spaces of the
00:38:08gardens that we are now inaugurating and it is a book that goes from school to
00:38:12school that is titled "Traveling Stone"
00:38:15and in which each school, each class, each child will also have
00:38:18the opportunity to hear about and write something
00:38:22about these traveling stones, about these stones from
00:38:25Guarda da Serra Estrela. from the highest city this
00:38:29connection to the Estrela World Geopark
00:38:32with the work of the municipality, Engineer Alves was
00:38:36one of the pieces along with the staff of the environment division of the
00:38:39municipality, Magda Fernandes as the executive
00:38:43coordinator of the Geopark, as a geologist she has here
00:38:46a lot to show about the importance of plants, water, and also rocks
00:38:50exactly, and we also added the climate, right? Because these
00:38:53three levels aim to
00:38:57represent the variation in terms of the different
00:39:01environments that our mountains have, due to the
00:39:04variation in altitude and the climate associated with it, because as we
00:39:08go up in altitude, the temperature decreases and precipitation
00:39:11increases, this will create very specific environments that
00:39:15allow the vegetation we find to be very diverse
00:39:18and it's no coincidence that the Serra Estrela, besides being a
00:39:22UNESCO Global Geopark, since June it is also a UNESCO
00:39:26Biosphere Reserve. And it is precisely because of this
00:39:29extraordinary geology that we have
00:39:32that we can tell five chapters of the long geological history
00:39:35of our planet and, on the other hand, we have here a
00:39:39biodiversity consisting of unique species, many of
00:39:42which are found only in our Serra Estrela and, therefore, these
00:39:46gardens are very important to make this connection between this
00:39:50scientific knowledge, the community, the
00:39:53schools, because as they said earlier, in fact we can only value
00:39:57here...
00:39:57we get to
00:40:05know better this enormous heritage that our mountain
00:40:08holds, which is in fact the largest mountain in continental
00:40:11Portugal, and which has a
00:40:15unique heritage that deserves to be valued and preserved and
00:40:18therefore it is by working with the communities with the people that we actually
00:40:22achieve this preservation because it is the knowledge that we
00:40:26can bring to the various
00:40:29different places here on an ecovia, right? That people while walking,
00:40:33while strolling on the weekend or while running can stop,
00:40:36contemplate this garden and simultaneously learn a little
00:40:40more about this mountain that belongs to all of us. These are spaces that are
00:40:43available to the community, to those who pass slowly
00:40:47on this ecovia, to those who may come on purpose, to the three
00:40:51gardens at three levels that aim to represent what are
00:40:54the various spaces of the...
00:40:58the various areas, their importance, their biogenetic difference and
00:41:01this geodiversity that is intended to remain alive also
00:41:05if possible with the endangered species duly
00:41:09protected and valued.
00:41:23He is one of the most recognized masters of traditional
00:41:26"pedrada" pottery. Ceniza is 77 years old and has dedicated his life to this
00:41:30form of craftsmanship in which clay pieces are decorated
00:41:34with small white
00:45:19for Professor Marco Neves to
00:45:22lands, coming
00:56:08third part of Portugal em Rede, medical students are being
00:56:12invited to spend the weekend in Alto Alentejo, the
00:56:15local health unit wants to show future doctors that
00:56:19they can work in this region where there is a lack of
00:56:21professionals.
00:56:23The mayor of Alter do Chão acts as host.
00:56:27Just imagine, you need to renew your ID card at the
00:56:30office.
00:56:35medical students from Lisbon faculties accepted the invitation
00:56:38to spend a weekend in Alto Alentejo,
00:56:42most will start their internship now. I think it's a great
00:56:45initiative, especially for young people, because we are very used to the
00:56:49idea that to grow we have to be in a place,
00:56:53well, very busy, with many more opportunities and
00:56:56I really think this is good to deconstruct that idea a bit,
00:56:59I think certainly if not me, my colleagues will
00:57:03manage to be happy where they can. have great careers
00:57:06here, if it's for me or not,
00:57:09it's something that I still have to decide and think about,
00:57:13I still have two more days for them to convince me. First of all, they were
00:57:16welcomed in the municipality's spaces, we live here with a very
00:57:20different tranquility, but what we essentially
00:57:23have that's good are the people,
00:57:27the people of Alter are healthy people,
00:57:30so they are not very annoying for
00:57:32doctors,
00:57:34the initiative comes to get to know, it stays to
00:57:37take care, it's a true charm operation,
00:57:41carried out in partnership between the local health unit and the
00:57:44intermunicipal community, we want...
00:57:47to build a terms of reference,
00:57:50let's say, that allows us to offer
00:57:53differentiation to those who choose this territory to come
00:57:57provide healthcare to our population. In Alto Alentejo
00:58:00there is a shortage of at least 12 family doctors. Young people visit the
00:58:04municipalities where the needs are greatest. This is already the
00:58:07second weekend, the second group they're winking
00:58:11at. Why not come like this, choose a different
00:58:14and beautiful place with... I imagine
00:58:18good people, six years of college in Lisbon was very much in the midst of the hustle and bustle
00:58:21of the metropolitan city and so I'm also interested in this
00:58:25interior part because I think it brings a different quality of life with time for us
00:58:28and to breathe nature, it meets what
00:58:32I'm looking for, quality of life and
00:58:35peace, tranquility, to be able to also
00:58:39enjoy something, to be able to help people and
00:58:42to also enjoy life, and in a small town you get
00:58:46anywhere quickly. The health center is already here,
00:58:50it has two doctors who have already retired, it is urgent
00:58:53to hire someone younger, it's a health center
00:58:56and, as you heard, for 3000 and something inhabitants and,
00:58:59therefore, it needs at least two and a half doctors, not that
00:59:03we will talk about the half later, but these young people who come
00:59:07today don't all have to go into general and family medicine,
00:59:11we have 12 vacancies allocated
00:59:14in terms of competition and five vacancies for...
00:59:17internship, so it's a process that will take its time,
00:59:21eh, we obviously also have a lot of need for various specialties
00:59:25at the level of the two hospitals, the Hospital de Toj Maria Grande and the Hospital de Santa
00:59:29Lusia de Elvas. Tatiana Vital grew up in Passo dos
00:59:32Negros, Almeirim and the Alentejo fits into the dream
00:59:36she has. And I already had this option, Alentejo, Évora, Porto
00:59:39Alegre, and now, and suddenly an email arrives and I say,
00:59:43"Oh, how funny, so maybe this is really saying that this is the way to go."
00:59:47It's an unprecedented initiative, one more
00:59:50attempt to take care of the
00:59:51future. He arrived in the Algarve in
00:59:552016, coming from America and since then he started to reproduce in the
00:59:59waters of the Guadiana. The blue crab is a species
01:00:02invasive species that is not part of the Portuguese diet, but
01:00:06is a delicacy much appreciated by North Americans. A
01:00:10team of researchers is now trying to take advantage of this
01:00:14species.
01:00:31It arrived in the Algarve in 2016, unannounced, hitchhiking on
01:00:34ships coming from the other side of the Atlantic, it's here to stay, but
01:00:37it doesn't want to make friends, when they molt they become
01:00:41soft, the others attack and destroy those that are
01:00:44vulnerable, so they have to be in closed compartments. so they don't
01:00:47attack each other, when a crab changes its shell it
01:00:51becomes soft then it becomes quite valuable which is how
01:00:55America
01:00:58uh and so you can fry it, eat it whole in a hamburger or whatever,
01:01:02the blue crab is an invasive species, this is a species that
01:01:05is not native and that does not belong to the habitat of Portugal, it was
01:01:09a species that came from the United States of America where it is highly
01:01:13commercialized and fished, the
01:01:16native river crab. it's a crab of this size and while
01:01:19this crab we're talking about crabs can reach 20
01:01:23such centimeters compared to eight of the native crab and
01:01:27as it has no predators it has been able to develop and furthermore it is also
01:01:30a species that feeds on clams
01:01:34mussels and everything that is present in the rivers, the crab can also
01:01:37be caught in nets, destroying nets etc. so it causes
01:01:41damage to nets, it remains to be seen how to value
01:01:44the invader, which is what has been happening since 2 in the
01:01:48tanks of S2 Aqua Colab in Olhão. Attention on the
01:01:52blue crab focuses on the moment it changes its shell.
01:01:55We have contact with fishermen who supply us with
01:01:58crabs in various sizes for us to
01:02:01test which sizes are ideal so that we can then
01:02:05optimize this process between them arriving with a hard shell and
01:02:09transforming into a soft-shell crab product. Here
01:02:12we are testing the optimal conditions for the
01:02:16production of a.
01:02:30from gourmet chefs to mid-range restaurants,
01:02:33as well as the hotel school and we did surveys,
01:02:37we basically did interviews and saw what
01:02:40what they wanted to do or not with
01:02:44this resource, if they wanted to cook it and I think there is a good acceptance from
01:02:48their part, ah another thing we also did was
01:02:51surveys, yes surveys to
01:02:54consumers and well and see what the acceptance is because basically it has to
01:02:58be there, it's not enough to just develop
01:03:00a product and not know if it's accepted or not by society with a
01:03:04total investment of almost 871 thousand euros, the
01:03:07softcrab project was financed by more than 80% by European
01:03:11funds, joining US2 Aquacolab the University of the
01:03:14Algarve, an aquaculture company in Castro Marim which is the
01:03:17project promoter. We have to explore, discover even the
01:03:21shape of the classes, the periodicity of the feeding, the
01:03:25risks they have, we were putting the crabs in the
01:03:28classes, to make them
01:03:32fished, therefore they come with a hard shell, therefore they will
01:03:36be fed for some time until
01:03:39they grow to molt at that
01:03:43time we capture we commercialize them
01:03:45at the time when it is soft-shelled. It's a
01:03:49fabulous destiny for the blue crab from the net to the plate passing through the
01:03:53tank.
01:03:56Paredes now has a museum dedicated to the main activity of the municipality.
01:04:00furniture manufacturing, an investment of
01:04:03about 3 million euros, allowed the requalification of the
01:04:06old monastery of Vilela and the creation of the first municipal
01:04:16journey through the history of Paredes furniture, from the raw material
01:04:20to the final product, praising
01:04:23the manufacturing technique, the craftsman, the entrepreneurs,
01:04:27all those who constitute the territorial identity. of this
01:04:30municipality,
01:04:32it was the fusion of two desires that allowed the creation of a new cultural
01:04:36place, on the one hand, the desire to recover and value a religious
01:04:40and architectural heritage of the 10th century, worn
01:04:44by time. It was a monastery that was dilapidated, it was acquired
01:04:48some years ago, but it was in no condition
01:04:51for use, we had the opportunity through the
01:04:55PRR to access funds that allowed us to requalify this
01:04:58space, which personally, in itself if it didn't have the museum
01:05:01eh became an excellent
01:05:04cultural space, the opportunity to recover the
01:05:08monastery of Vilela allowed us to fulfill another
01:05:11wish, eh we knew that for example a certain
01:05:14factory eh closed because there are factories that
01:05:18did not have succession with their children and had very old
01:05:21machines and we kept those
01:05:25pieces and then it's obvious that when the
01:05:28funding opportunity arose. to actually install the museum, we still
01:05:32did a more exhaustive
01:05:34search, we gathered people from various parishes
01:05:38linked to the furniture
01:05:41industry and some of them even kept these
01:05:44pieces as authentic relics because they themselves wanted to preserve their
01:05:48past and, therefore, they were kind enough to
01:05:52donate them to the museum, the collection grew with
01:05:56other donations, this piece that identifies
01:05:59me very much... very much, which was a piece that we made for the World Youth Day
01:06:03of Pope Francis, so Pope
01:06:06Francis sat in that armchair and it was
01:06:09the brand there at the houses that did it then I have here another
01:06:13armchair which is an armchair called
01:06:16Sofia which is my daughter's name, when she was born and
01:06:20I asked my creative department to create an
01:06:23armchair in her name, these are the stories of people who have in
01:06:27wood the root of growth that make... make the history of the Paredes
01:06:31Furniture Museum, it is a municipality that lives through
01:06:35furniture, wood, art, for me, as an
01:06:39entrepreneur, as a man of the land it is
01:06:43an honor and even more to have here
01:06:46several pieces of my brand, an investment
01:06:50of about 3 million euros allowed the creation of the first municipal
01:06:54museum of Paredes, the monastery of Vilela now shares
01:06:58the selection process of the material. organic to
01:07:01the realization of the final product, whether functional
01:07:04furniture pieces or designer
01:07:07pieces. I have heard many people who have already entered here furniture,
01:07:10although it basically had a first, so to speak,
01:07:14soft inauguration
01:07:17because of the wood arts biennial that is taking place right now during these two months,
01:07:21but everyone is enchanted by that work that basically
01:07:25represents
01:07:27a part of what the furniture industry was, which was the distribution. of furniture in the
01:07:31past to take these furniture pieces to Porto, which was the
01:07:34main distribution point of furniture and for sale to the
01:07:38public, these pieces were carried on their backs, especially by
01:07:41women called... chair makers and they were fundamental not only
01:07:45in the work within the factories, but also
01:07:48in that very tough task of
01:07:51transporting the pieces from Paredes to Porto. We have
01:07:55heard several references to the Biennial and the International
01:07:58Wood Arts exhibition of Paredes also occupies several
01:08:02spaces of this old Vilela monastery.
01:08:05There are several works on display by dozens
01:08:09of artists who are part of this third edition.
01:08:12further on in Portugal em Rede, we show you these and
01:08:16other proposals and also try to understand what is the objective of this
01:08:19third edition of the biennial. Join us further on in Portugal em
01:08:23Rede.
01:08:30It's time for this language that unites us.
01:08:33Hello, Marco, today we are going to travel through lands outside
01:13:06heritage site with more than 300 years that has undergone
01:13:09changes over time, conservation and restoration works are now
01:13:13underway to maintain the identity of the
01:13:16monument.
01:13:20It's a work of patience to clean and remove the lichens from the Cruzeiro da
01:13:23Charneca in... Lisbon. This religious monument is located in
01:13:27front of the church of São Bartolomeu and is probably from the
01:13:3115th century, just like the temple. This municipal
01:13:34heritage was in great need of a conservation and restoration
01:13:38intervention. There are several phases of
01:13:41interventions, changes to the monument. Eh,
01:13:44for example, in the 80s, there was a lot of
01:13:48polyester present, it has all been removed, cements
01:13:51also have to be removed, because these two elements are agents.
01:13:55that can degrade the stone, when we do this type of cleaning
01:13:59we always try to maintain the patina of
01:14:01time, eh, we try to have a limit of
01:14:05cleaning that does not exceed and does not
01:14:07alter the history of the monument a little and it is very much the
01:14:11history of this monument built in Pero Pinheiro limestone. The Cruzeiro is the
01:14:14guardian of endless memories of the
01:14:18old parish of Charneca. Many processions in honor of
01:14:20São Bartolomeu have passed through here in
01:14:24August. but the monument has also been the obligatory setting
01:14:27for countless wedding and baptism photographs of the
01:14:31residents. The Cruzeiro where there is no
01:14:34inhabitant of Charneca who does not have a photograph with the Cruzeiro,
01:14:37thus a central element of the festivities and the
01:14:40procession. From the beginning the community has a very strong connection
01:14:44to this space, to this cross, so it is a historical
01:14:47landmark in this place. Therefore, as a
01:14:51historical landmark for us it was very important to preserve it, to preserve
01:14:55it in all its phases, because all these pieces have a history, not
01:14:59always good, not always leaving interesting elements, but it is part of the
01:15:02whole, so what we are going to do is preserve memory, do the
01:15:06minimum intervention to make it clean, treated and for people
01:15:10to identify with the piece. now we have to
01:15:13preserve this religious monument ensuring the original
01:15:16characteristics as much as possible, for example, this
01:15:20cross, the column is no longer original, the column was
01:15:24divided into two, this one was made to resemble the
01:15:27other, but in a single piece, in the same material, because it is also limestone, what
01:15:31worries us most is that the final result does not
01:15:35alter its identity, that is, that
01:15:38when we leave, it does not look like it was made
01:15:42yesterday. The intervention will
01:15:46October, the residents of Charneca will once again be able to record unique
01:15:49moments next to the
01:15:50Cruzeiro.
01:15:54Still in Lisbon. The Parish Council of Arroios created a network of urban
01:15:57gardens and vegetable gardens so that the community can take care of the
01:16:01green spaces. Through the program, residents can
01:16:04apply to use a small urban garden and commit to
01:16:08caring for and maintaining the
01:16:17Arroios in Lisbon can now participate in the
01:16:20maintenance and care of several green
01:16:23spaces here in the parish. They just need to reside,
01:16:26study or work here in this
01:16:30parish, they can apply and as if adopt or
01:16:34sponsor a flowerbed or a green space,
01:16:37this initiative comes from the parish council, here next to me Manuel,
01:16:41I would like you to explain to us, so it is a program that also arises a little
01:16:45from the request of several families, isn't it? exactly, that is, we have received several
01:16:48emails, people who wanted to be able to take care
01:16:51of a tree pit, of a flowerbed near their home.
01:16:56eh the answer that was always given that
01:16:59that tree pit, that space, that
01:17:02watered and cared for by the parish council or by the city council, so we created here a
01:17:06specific regulation so that people can choose a place,
01:17:10apply and go to a welcome session at the parish council where they can
01:17:14explain eh become even a
01:17:17volunteer and thus take care of the
01:17:21garden at the same time have access to a kit that includes a
01:17:25vest saying volunteer, tweezers, garbage bags and
01:17:28other type of information that will help people select what kind of
01:17:32plants can exist here and people thus know the rules to take
01:17:36care of the space and over time also count on the help of the
01:17:40technicians of the parish council of Arroios. there are many spaces
01:17:43that eh are subject to maintenance and are
01:17:46cared for, but there are others that need that maintenance, is
01:17:49that it? our idea was to create
01:17:53spaces or make known here spaces that
01:17:56would allow the population to create some
01:17:59community, many of these places that we are giving are places that are within the
01:18:03competence of the parish council to take care of, most of them
01:18:07are... very well cared for, others need some revitalization
01:18:10and the parish council wants with its budget to buy the
01:18:14plants together with the population, that is, the council buys the plants
01:18:18and it is chosen by the technicians and by the population and thus give a new life to
01:18:22those that are a little more lost around the city, but the idea
01:18:25is for the neighbor to call eh other neighbors, the
01:18:28commerce can, for example, if I have a restaurant that has a
01:18:32flowerbed in front, I can take care of it and thus little by little there will be more
01:18:36community between the population eh and
01:18:39these small garden spaces that are very, very
01:18:42difficult to find in a parish like Arroios and, therefore, we have to take care of them as they are already
01:18:46few and scarce and eh a map was made
01:18:49with those gardens, how many spaces can
01:18:52be managed and finally what are the requirements for a person to get involved
01:18:56in this initiative? we created a website that currently contains
01:18:5944 locations, and now we advanced last
01:19:03week to the pilot project that we advanced with 12
01:19:06first eh... it was a success because in less than 24 hours
01:19:10they were all selected, so there is a great demand, we are already receiving
01:19:13emails from people asking when new spaces will be available, we
01:19:17hope that in the next weeks we will be able
01:19:20to release a total of
01:19:23more than 30 mapped places and people can already see on the website of
01:19:27adopt a garden they can go to the social networks of the parish
01:19:30council or the website of the council h from there
01:19:34select a space the only condition is that...
01:19:37they work, study or live in the parish of Arroios and
01:19:41they have to go to a welcome session which is a 2-hour session where the
01:19:44city council technicians will explain all the care they have to
01:19:48have with the space, a very simple thing and from there they can start
01:19:52taking care of that garden always with the support of the parish council and they have to be
01:19:56of legal age or not eh yes they have to be of legal
01:19:59age and work, live or study in the parish council very
01:20:03well Rita this model has also been adopted from what I
01:20:06understood eh in? the cities of Europe is that it eh
01:20:10yes, but in a much more organic way than what we are doing, that
01:20:13is, for example, if we go to Berlin, we conclude that the
01:20:17tree pits that are actually much wider than ours eh,
01:20:21but they are systematically, there are no two alike, they are all
01:20:24appropriated in some way, either because the building in front took care, the various
01:20:28neighbors, or because the restaurant took care and has different plants
01:20:32and therefore that's what also creates
01:20:35diversity and... more green, more green in the
01:20:38city, ah, therefore, I think that what was also intended here, is a
01:20:42little bit to create a culture that we
01:20:46don't have and of caring for public space, but the truth
01:20:50is that on the one hand we don't have it, but on the other hand we also
01:20:53conclude we have been reporting several
01:20:56initiatives by residents, etc. that when this
01:21:00exists it is also often repressed by the authorities
01:21:03and and therefore we want here also a little to
01:21:06reverse and... in fact say yes you can within
01:21:09certain rules and with our accompaniment, but
01:21:13empower people, because we also know that this helps
01:21:16eh the sense of community, helps the sense of
01:21:19belonging to feel the city as ours eh
01:21:23and contact with nature is therapeutic and, therefore, if people have
01:21:27that will, that also helps us, I think it's a win-win. well,
01:21:30thank you, applications are open, you just need to reside, study
01:21:34or live eh in the parish of...
01:21:37Arroios,
01:21:40we are now in Paredes, at the old monastery of Vilela, which is currently the
01:21:44furniture museum, the first cultural event
01:21:48it hosts is the International Wood Arts Biennial,
01:21:57artists for this collective exhibition, children
01:22:01of the land, children of the forest, we have
01:22:04different generations, different origins and also.
01:22:07work done with different materials, always having one
01:22:10element in common, the existence of
01:22:12wood.
01:22:22architectural legacy and the new concept that is desired in the
01:22:25present. Rooms, corridors, nooks, once traversed
01:22:29by the life of a monastery, now give way to the cultural life of the
01:22:33municipality through the arts, an exhibition curated
01:22:36by Helena.
01:22:40Children of the land, children of the forest is a popular expression that has to do
01:22:44with this, with people who live from wood and that is the history of Paredes,
01:22:47because there was here from the beginning an idea that this project should be a project of
01:22:51valorization of the other heritage that Paredes has, the industrial heritage naturally and the
01:22:55heritage, diverse intangible heritage, the cultural
01:22:58ecosystem that the territory also has, so basically I chose
01:23:02the artists, valuing artists who work with wood
01:23:05as material not... as
01:23:07support
01:23:11Brotam do tempo is an installation by Miguel Neves de Oliveira, one of the
01:23:15artists present in this third north
01:23:18Wood Arts. Walls: these
01:23:21shoots are a hymn to life being born, but
01:23:25life that then transforms
01:23:28into death and falls, the force of gravity pulls down, but
01:23:32then life is born again upwards, so
01:23:35my relationship with this piece is precisely that, it is a permanent
01:23:39construction. When I exhibit it, it crumbles on the floor, I
01:23:42then take it home, potelia, and rebuild it
01:23:46again, so this piece is almost a constant transformation,
01:23:50like life, and it is, therefore, this metaphor
01:23:52here.
01:23:56Ana Paz de Oliveira makes another analogy, through
01:23:59three-dimensional painting, she approaches other dimensions of
01:24:02life. I consider the paintings outside, outside of themselves, that is, my
01:24:06painting work, color is fundamental in my work as a compositional
01:24:10element, and also how it articulates with line and with
01:24:13geometry, eh, with an idea of
01:24:17deconstructed, dysfunctional, fictional architecture. And these models
01:24:20end up being, eh, like house projects that, in fact,
01:24:24at the slightest thing can crumble
01:24:28or cease to have their function of protection and shelter. I think that all
01:24:31art ends up being a little political, interventionist, right? In the sense that the act
01:24:35of creating, of creating today in our
01:24:38country is a form of of intervention, it is a form
01:24:42of revolution, it is a form of showing, of demonstrating, eh, and
01:24:46also of breaking the acceleration of today, because people sometimes don't
01:24:50have time to stop to reflect. The biennial was
01:24:53designed so that everyone could enjoy it, even those for
01:24:56whom time seems to have no hours to observe
01:24:59art. We made this exercise of having these installations
01:25:03in the factories, and all the programming also extends to the factories
01:25:07so that the workers, the people who cannot come to the museum during the day, receive
01:25:11culture there. I always find this idea very important that often
01:25:15museums, right? Museums, galleries, are very
01:25:18focused on one audience. Active, right? On people who have availability,
01:25:22children, the elderly have availability to go to museums.
01:25:26We often forget all the people, the active
01:25:30population. And it is not only the plastic expression of art that
01:25:33extends beyond the Vilela monastery, now the Paredes
01:25:37Furniture Museum. This happens not only with the artistic
01:25:40installations, but also throughout the program. Joana Gama will give a
01:25:44concert in a factory, Felipe Alial will recite
01:25:47Daniel Faria's poetry in three locations. Also
01:25:50and then there is a context of other works and the ethnography and
01:25:54folklore groups and the local amateur theater groups that will
01:25:57create new works here at the furniture museum, working with
01:26:01contemporary creators that we invited, a vision of tradition
01:26:05not as something crystallized and stagnant, but as something that deserves and
01:26:08demands revision and contemporaneity
01:26:11always.
01:26:16These are works to observe and to feel in the different
01:26:20spaces of a building that was once dedicated to religious reflection
01:26:24and Catholic history and that now gives way to
01:26:27cultural reflection through this biennial. It is an
01:26:31exhibition to visit at the Vilela monastery in
01:26:34Paredes until November
01:26:3530th.
01:26:38It's time to find out
01:26:46is rocking the most luxurious resort in the country.
01:26:50The work accident at Quinta do Lago caused three
01:26:54deaths by intoxication and three injured. We will
01:26:57follow the situation to know what happened precisely to
01:27:00cause this accident. The heat will return
01:27:04this week, eh, to Portugal and with force. The
01:27:08forecasts for temperatures in the country will, eh,
01:27:12can reach up to 30 degrees, it being certain
01:27:15that already, eh, last month was the hottest
01:27:19September ever, or rather, the second hottest September ever
01:27:22in Europe. We will also talk about the Pope who will be admitted
01:27:26to the Gemelli hospital in Rome tomorrow to undergo
01:27:29eh lung surgery. A nodule was found
01:27:33in the Pope's lung during a routine
01:27:36examination, and we will follow the situation, eh, of the
01:27:39Pope, then, in the news, where we will also have an interview
01:27:43with the leader of Chega, André
01:28:20forecast for
01:28:22tomorrow. Good afternoon, tomorrow we will have a day
01:28:26very similar to today, with the sky generally clear or
01:28:30even clean, but on the western
01:28:33strip north of Lisbon there will always be a lot of cloudiness or fog that
01:28:37in some places may persist. The novelty for tomorrow is a rise in
01:28:41temperature in the interior regions. Let's see in detail now the
01:28:46northern region. Starting here with the first prognosis chart
01:28:50valid for tomorrow at 12 o'clock where we can see that we have a
01:28:53front approaching the mainland territory, but it is anticipating. It
01:28:57is passing through the middle of the anticyclone. The anticyclone is already positioned here
01:29:01northwest of the Iberian peninsula and will gradually move
01:29:04north and stay there for the next few days. So for tomorrow in the
01:29:08northern region we will have a day with partly cloudy skies, especially in the
01:29:11interior regions where sometimes it may even be
01:29:15clear. There is a rise in temperature, the lows still
01:29:19remain low, lows of around 11 degrees in Bragança,
01:29:2212 in Vila Real, but the highs will already reach 27, 28
01:29:26in these regions. Then in the coastal regions, in contrast, we have a lot of
01:29:30cloudiness, mist or fog.
01:29:32In some places it will persist and therefore the temperatures do not rise, the highs
01:29:36beyond 21 degrees Celsius. Braga
01:29:39will reach 27. Moving to the central region
01:29:42also with the sky presenting itself partly cloudy in the
01:29:45interior regions with maximum temperatures rising, the lows
01:29:48remain more or less the same order of magnitude with Guarda 11
01:29:52degrees, Castelo Branco with 14 and Portalegre with 17. However, the
01:29:55highs already reach 30 degrees, which is the case of Castelo Branco will reach
01:29:5930 degrees, 28 will be for... Portalegre
01:30:0325 for Guarda. Then on the coast the situation is different, with
01:30:07a lot of cloudiness, just like today, in some places it may
01:30:10remain, in others it will clear, but the temperatures here do not rise, the temperatures here
01:30:14are around 22, 23° on the coastal strip, they may
01:30:17reach 27 here in Lisbon with partly cloudy skies
01:30:21and Santarém also with partly cloudy skies at 29°
01:30:26southern region here a day with the sky also presenting itself a little cloudy, during
01:30:30the morning fog in the Alentejo region, which like today
01:30:34will quickly dissipate, maximums rise a little, already reaching
01:30:37here 30 degrees, Faro may
01:30:40reach 27, on the coastal strip, temperatures here
01:30:44may already rise here the sky also partly cloudy with
01:30:47temperatures between 24 and 26, Setúbal will register
01:30:5127 degrees Celsius. The wind will continue to be weak
01:30:55during most of the day, but during the afternoon it will blow moderately from
01:30:58northwest on the coastal strip, south of Cabo Carvoeiro, even reaching
01:31:0230 km/h on the south coast of the Algarve it will be from
01:31:06southwest also moderate and as for the
01:31:09sea agitation on the western coast it reaches up to 2 meters, water temperature
01:31:13between 16 and 19 degrees Celsius, on the south coast of
01:31:16the Algarve it is less than 1 and the sea water temperature varies between
01:31:2020 and 23 closer to Spain. For the
01:31:23Madeira Archipelago it is also a similar day with the sky presenting periods
01:31:27of very cloudy, showers may occur on the north-facing slopes
01:31:31of the island of... Madeira, we have a maximum temperature forecast for
01:31:35Funchal of 26 degrees Celsius, the wind continues to blow from the
01:31:39quadrant moderately, sea agitation reaches
01:31:422 meters, sea water temperature 24 degrees Celsius.
01:31:46Moving to the Azores, here after the passage
01:31:49of that frontal surface we will have much more sun in the morning during
01:31:53tomorrow, the wind will blow weakly, tending to be from the
01:31:56south quadrant and we have maximum temperatures forecast practically
01:32:00for the entire archipelago of 23 degrees Celsius,
01:32:05west, reaches up to 2 and here the sea water temperature
01:32:09is 22 degrees Celsius, these
01:32:11are the forecasts for tomorrow, have a very good
01:32:14afternoon.
01:32:18revisit some of the topics that we highlighted in this Portugal in network,
01:32:22they are at your fingertips on our social networks, we got to know, for
01:32:26example, different gardens, such as the
01:32:29rock gardens inaugurated today in Guarda and that...
01:32:32recreate the landscapes of the Serra da Estrela. We were also in the
01:32:36parish of Arroios in Lisbon where there is a
01:32:39project to adopt a garden or an orchard.
01:32:43We also visited Paredes, which now has a new museum, it's the
01:32:47furniture museum that has a biennial to
01:32:50visit.
01:32:52This was Portugal in network, that's all for today, good night, see you
01:32:55tomorrow.
