00:00:00populated with European settlers, but Tunisians did not put
00:00:04up with the loss of freedom. Arab patriots had been fighting against French
00:00:07Colonialism for decades until Tunia gained
00:00:11independence in
00:00:13of 1956.
00:00:23In the headl international, 12 people are killed and over
00:00:27300 wounded in attack on the main. international airport in
00:00:31Riad, according to Saudi
00:00:32of authorities, of that is
00:00:33as the Yemeni hoti movement
00:00:35of confirms to Art that it was behind the
00:00:38st. These attacks are Yemeny
00:00:41of attacks. We do not do this out of revenge or to take vengeance, but rather
00:00:45to force the Saudi leadership to accept a comprehensive and permanent peace by
00:00:48agreeing to end the war. I think it's time for Ukraine to get new
00:00:52president, but he could have settled it many times and he chose not to. Donald Trump
00:00:56lays it out clear to Keyev after Washington enters a deal with.
00:01:00to lift sanctions its diesel, the decision deemed weak by
00:01:04Vladimir Zelensky and one that prompted a Ukrainian delegation in
00:01:08of America to immediately pack its bags and return
00:01:11home and the sea of
00:01:14solidarity, pro Palestinian demonstrators making a stand in
00:01:18London on the first anniversary
00:01:20of the Hamas
00:01:21of Israel peace deal, which critics say is a ceasefire only in
00:01:24name. One activist at the rally says the UK turns a
00:01:28blind eye to the suffering. of
00:01:30gas, nobody
00:01:33in wants to
00:01:33of necessarily yet address the
00:01:35of issue that genocide, post genocide, we've got a situation where we're
00:01:38asking Palestinians now to coex exist with the people
00:01:42who basically are committed to wiping them
00:01:45out,
00:01:53welcome to the program here on RT international live from Moscow, your
00:01:56news, your headlines, unfiltered as always.
00:02:01It
00:02:01of is breaking news to kick off the program here on this hour as 12 people have been
00:02:05killed and
00:02:06of 309 wounded in the latest attack on the main international
00:02:10airport in Riad, that has been confirmed by the Saudi
00:02:13authorities, and houti spokes person has confirmed to us here at RT
00:02:17that the movement was behind
00:02:18of the strike it is by the way the second strike on that airport in as
00:02:22many days and some unverified footage circulating online
00:02:26of appears to show smoke rising near the airport, the site has been evacue.
00:02:30all flight suspended, and a senior huti spokesperson told
00:02:34RT that its actions are a direct response
00:02:36to the continued aggression against civilian infrastructure in
00:02:40Yemen by the
00:02:41Saudis.
00:02:45Yes, these attacks are Yemeni attacks after 12 years of Saudi
00:02:49aggression, destroying Yemen infrastructure whether airports, ports,
00:02:52even wedding and funeral halls as well as schools, hospitals and markets.
00:02:56It targeted everything in Yemen and targeted and destroyed. infrastructure
00:03:00and today it acknowledges that airports are civilian facilities that must not
00:03:04be targeted under international law, but we say that we
00:03:08of deal with Saudi Arabia in kind and our military operations deep inside the
00:03:11Saudi entity will continue and will not end except by destroying all
00:03:15Saudi infrastructure belonging to the government, whether military
00:03:19of facilities, airports, or even ports and any vital facilities belonging to the Saudi
00:03:23regime. We do not do this out of revenge or to take vengeance, but rather
00:03:27to force the Saudi leadership to accept a comprehensive and... peace by
00:03:30agreeing to end the war and end the siege by both sides. the Saudi
00:03:34of leadership can agree to achieve peace, and these are Yemen's
00:03:37demands. this comes a mid rapid escalation
00:03:40of the conflict in
00:03:41of Yemen. the hoothies right here, the hoothies releasing this footage. they say it shows
00:03:45dozens of fighters from the
00:03:47of Saudi back side surrendering to advancing hoothi
00:03:50forces. the video comes as Saudi Arabia and its regional
00:03:54partners plan to step up their military coordination on Monday. it
00:03:58is raising
00:03:59of fears the conflict could... span further or perhaps even draw more
00:04:02countries in. now this latest airport attack
00:04:06comes as Saudi led forces in Yemen say they've destroyed three rocket
00:04:09launch platforms used by the Hutis to quote threaten regional
00:04:13security. In fact, the group itself confirmed the Saudi Air Force carried
00:04:17out 59 air strikes and missile attacks in just 24 hours,
00:04:20causing multiple casualties. And professor of
00:04:24of political science at the Qatar University, Dr. Ali al-
00:04:27Khail believes that the main benefit. fitiary of such
00:04:31escalation in the region is actually
00:04:34in Israel, this is a part
00:04:37of the vicious circled war
00:04:41between thehis and Saudi Arabia on one
00:04:45hand and between the
00:04:48a of hoothies and what's called the legitimate
00:04:50of government at the temporary capital city in
00:04:53Eden at southern
00:04:57Yemen, well could be... well
00:05:01from the very first glance we can
00:05:04say probably it is the hoothies, but
00:05:08also we should not doubt
00:05:11others. sources, Israel probably takes
00:05:15advantage of this chaos and
00:05:18Israel has an interest in making Saudi
00:05:22Arabia bleeding and weakening Saudi
00:05:26Arabia in order to force Saudi Arabia
00:05:30into normalization with
00:05:33Israel, just day after
00:05:37blindsiding Ukraine by doing a diesel deal with Russia and
00:05:41Donald Trump's again up. the anti against Keyev, Trump
00:05:44suggesting, it's time for change at the
00:05:47top. should have never started, you wouldn't have lost
00:05:5030% of your country already, you've lost 30%
00:05:54of your country and you've had over million people
00:05:58kill, but he could have settled it many times and he chose not
00:06:01to. that's a war that should have never started, and I think it's time for
00:06:05Ukraine to get new president. Donald Trump is no longer hiding his
00:06:09frustration with Vladimir Zelansky, putting the blame square. on Kiev
00:06:13for continuing this conflict non-stop, but the U.S. president says that
00:06:17Washington has on multiple occasions asked Zelensky personally
00:06:21to stop strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, on oil depots,
00:06:25because they have international consequences. We're seeing a global energy shortage that
00:06:29affect affects people worldwide, including the average American
00:06:32citizen. But you know, Trump ev interestingly went even
00:06:36further here, accusing Zelensky of having passed up multiple
00:06:40opportunities to try and settle this conflict. he even said that he's to
00:06:44blame for creating all these problems worldwide, but
00:06:47you know he's actually backing these words up with this concrete deal that we've seen,
00:06:51the diesel deal between Donald Trump and President Putin, which is set to
00:06:55bring Russian diesel into the US market, no an
00:06:58estimated $4.5 billion dollars, I mean that's a staggering
00:07:02number, Rory, and he says that Russia will essentially be
00:07:06able to supply uh 300,00 tons of diesel
00:07:10today, and also another 500... 100 thous tons next month
00:07:14and also there will be more shipments all throughout April because he deal also
00:07:18includes a temporary US sanctions waver to allow these Russian
00:07:22diesel exports and of course Trump has made absolutely no
00:07:25secret of his appreciation for Putin's willingness to
00:07:28actually send this diesel to the United States. Russia
00:07:32agreed to send us millions and
00:07:36millions of barrels of oil and it's diesel
00:07:40that's what we really need so.
00:07:43Thank you, you, and that public thanks to Putin has evidently
00:07:46infuriated Kiev. Now Zelensky boldly on social media
00:07:50called Trump's decision to ink this deal as some
00:07:54sort of weakness, betraying the deal as also this concession to
00:07:58Moscow. At this moment when we are talking about
00:08:02peace, America is allowing Russia to export diesel. It's
00:08:05millions, billions. In any case, all of this is directed for war against the
00:08:09people, against Ukraine, against all of us.
00:08:11I believe our... is just being used as a facade, and that's definitely not
00:08:15fair. this is definitely not very partner-like in my opinion. this is a
00:08:19weak solution, unfortunately, it's a weak decision by strong
00:08:22partners. it seems like Zelensky can't grasp
00:08:26why the United States has has made this deal with Russia and can't
00:08:30grasp the fact that there is a global energy shortage in this situation. but there's another
00:08:34problem that Ukraine is currently facing and this is the
00:08:37announcement after so its delegation actually
00:08:41came to Florida. recently to sit down with the American delegation, so
00:08:45Jared Kushna, this is Trump's son-in-law as well as Steve Witkoff,
00:08:49this is Trump's special envoy, but the talks apparently were supposed to
00:08:53initially last around two days, but the Ukrainian team reportedly cut
00:08:56its visit short because Zelensky says that Ukraine was apparently
00:09:00blindsided by this Putin Trump deal, but you'd think that right now
00:09:04is the exact time that Zelensky would be approaching Trump from so for some sort of
00:09:08deal, some sort of talks, but it's evident that he doesn't think so, clearly the
00:09:12key. leadership and its circle of friends and operators are very
00:09:15upset about this diesel deal, meantime, what's what's the
00:09:19outlook from Moscow, any reaction from the Kremlin to this deal?
00:09:23well, Moscow has benevolently welcomed this agreement, but is
00:09:26that really surprising, we've seen this message consistently from Moscow that they're
00:09:30open to talks, to friendly relations with Washington, and
00:09:34we've also seen these uh, statements in social media
00:09:38uh that uh business ties, economic ties have
00:09:41been um hot topics behind closed doors, but following
00:09:45Friday's call with between Putin and Trump, the Kremlin also
00:09:49made it clear that KV's own actions have further undermined the
00:09:53prospects for this renewed peace. Vladimir
00:09:56Putin, Vladimir Putin provided detailed account the measures we
00:10:00are taking in response to the terrorist attacks by the Kiev regime, which has
00:10:04opted for escalation and various forms of prolonging the conflict, through its
00:10:08attempts to disrupt our elections by launching a massive drone strike on
00:10:11Moscow, other. cities and polling stations on the main voting day,
00:10:15targeting specific individuals associated with organizing the
00:10:18elections. The kie of regime has essentially derailed the possibility of
00:10:22immediately resuming the negotiation process. "but we also know that the
00:10:26Kremman has also insisted that Russia is always prepared for a
00:10:29political and diplomatic settlement, but one that actually
00:10:33delivers what it describes as this long-lasting peace, the sustainable
00:10:37peace, not a freezing the contact line, not a sease fire that
00:10:41would just effectively allow Kief to rearm, I mean we've seen that
00:10:45happen previously during those Minsk agreements, but what it seeks
00:10:48is an actual uh underlying solution to the
00:10:52conflict. Zelensky's had few choice. words to say about it all, but
00:10:56it's uh, it's not the first time he's been angry at Donald
00:10:59Trump. well, absolutely wrong. mean, this is pattern that we've seen before.
00:11:03donald trump and Zelensky have certainly exchanged harsh words and what
00:11:07not, but just a day before this announcement of this diesel
00:11:11deal. zki was already demanding that Trump implement harsher
00:11:15sanctions, you know, pressure Russia, and also rejecting
00:11:19the uh suggestion that diplomacy had reached a dead end, and that was after a
00:11:23statement by Marco Rubio himself.
00:11:55That's on social media, but with fuel prices, American consumers and
00:11:58energy supplies now part the equation, this could prove to be
00:12:02way more than just another heated exchange between Zelensky and
00:12:06Trump, but Zelensky you may have pushed Trump into this position where the US
00:12:10president is actually focused more on prioritizing its own
00:12:13citizens over Ukraine, and while Trump
00:12:16essentially says Zelensky's time is up, it's no surprise, the
00:12:20Ukrainian foreign minister has come out to praise Zelensky saying he deserves the people
00:12:24support. well, after untold billions have been laundered through
00:12:28Ukraine over the years, we spoke with a lecturer in political science at Rutka's
00:12:32University who says, since Zelensky's term is long past due, it's
00:12:36become too costly for Washington to deal with
00:12:39him. We all know that Zelensky has
00:12:43effectively frozen elections over the past
00:12:47year, which means that he has long passed his
00:12:49mandate.
00:12:55It's not because of any expiration date within
00:12:59constitutional law, it's just that simply as far as Trump's concerned, Zelensky is
00:13:02no one that the
00:13:06United States can deal with, can cooperate with.
00:13:10Ukraine is page six news at this point as far as
00:13:14American politics are concerned, we're talking diesel prices in this country
00:13:18are somewhere over 5-6 average a gallon, which
00:13:21means that we are running out of our own resources.
00:13:25is the country, unfortunately, that gets thrown under the bus for
00:13:29whatever needs and interest that
00:13:31it has, and when it comes to this new diesel fuel uh fuel deal that Putin
00:13:35had uh secured with Trump, it shows us once again, Russia
00:13:39plays the long game, and they're able to just simply lock in,
00:13:43endure few short-term moments of discomfort, but they come out
00:13:47top winning. As far as Ukraine is concerned, they are the ones that
00:13:51are going to get isolated and forgotten about the most. In the
00:13:55meantime, Russia's defense ministry has confirmed strikes have been carried out on
00:13:59data centers in Kiyev said to be used by the Ukrainian military to collect
00:14:02process and store intelligence. This comes as reports suggest large
00:14:06parts the capital are currently without power. A local media saying
00:14:10ballistic missile struck the right bank the Dunepa river in
00:14:13Keyev. The city's mayor announced a public transport including the
00:14:17subway, trams and other forms have been suspended amid the
00:14:20wide-spread blackouts. Well, the head of
00:14:24Russia. nuclear energy agency says the speed in which the
00:14:28diesel deal was reached gives hope that those who have issued sanctions
00:14:32will perhaps realize their mistakes, he added that all dialogue going
00:14:36forward must take into account Russia's overall security and its goals
00:14:40in the conflict with
00:14:41Ukraine.
00:14:45First and foremost, this conversation demonstrates the tremendous
00:14:47effectiveness the dialogue between our presidents. Despite
00:14:51being relatively brief, decisions regarding the lifting of sanctions. contracting and
00:14:55so forth began to be implemented with lightning speed. secondly,
00:14:59a sense this gradually reveals the economic essence of sanctions. they
00:15:03have reached such a stage that they are beginning to cause systemic harm to major
00:15:07players such as the United States of America. we are all inclined
00:15:11towards the further development of a positive dialogue provided of course that the
00:15:14objectives the special military operation are achieved and the security and
00:15:18interests of our country are ensured and
00:15:22made falling out with a US president Donald Trump, Vladimir Zelensky
00:15:26is reaching out to various European nations from the UK to
00:15:30Norway to ensure their backing, that says he says Russia
00:15:33mustn't get any energy profits, an idea that.
00:15:37is apparently on board with, but with plenty of loop holes, so now the EU
00:15:41foreign policy chief is calling for new sanctions package on Russia,
00:15:45because I guess the first 30,000 sanctions work just so
00:15:49well, all while the Baltic states are demanding Ukraine
00:15:53continue attacking and destroying Russian oil
00:15:55refineries. Suspending
00:15:59sanctions on Russian diesel provides Moscow with more revenues to wage war.
00:16:03This is not the time ease pressure on Russia and Europe won't. On Monday.
00:16:07EU foreign ministers intend to approve the biggest set of sanctions listings targeting
00:16:11Russia's war machines since the start the war. This is major
00:16:15miscalculation because deals with dictators are road to hell.
00:16:19Money from gas and fuel is being used to kill innocent people. In
00:16:22Estonia and at the European Council, we should discuss next week whether we can
00:16:26provide more support to Ukraine quickly so that they can smash Russian oil
00:16:29refineries to pieces. Despite Brussels and Kiev singing
00:16:33from the same song sheet, it seems not everyone in Ukraine is in tune with.
00:16:38that one former MP says the biggest threat to the country is Zelensky
00:16:42himself. Today, true patriots the
00:16:45country must understand two points: first, Vladimir Zelensky
00:16:49will never agree to an end to the war, and his continued stay in
00:16:53power is guarantee that the war will continue. Second, the
00:16:57continuation the war will result in the total loss of statehood for Ukraine
00:17:01and a catastrophe for its population.
00:17:04It is Zelinsky himself whose adequacy and sanity are. subject to
00:17:08serious doubt, who is the main enemy of Ukraine and its people?
00:17:12too much is at stake. the people are waiting for justice and
00:17:15decisiveness. Ukraine cannot remain a hostage to the unhealthy
00:17:19ambitions and personal interests of a man who has imagined himself to be
00:17:22Napoleon. well American political scientist and publicist
00:17:26Amalek Dutakov believes that Kiev's attempts to scupper the diesel deal
00:17:30might trigger Ukraine's collapse, leaving Zelensky and Europe high and
00:17:34dry. Of
00:17:37course, this diesel deal between Trump and Russia has caused very
00:17:41serious friction and confusion among the ranks the European War party, as
00:17:45well as among Ukrainian lobbiists, and indeed, these people are currently
00:17:49disconcerted by the fact that Trump is concluding an agreement with Russia without
00:17:53taking their opinions into account, and in general, without reacting at
00:17:57all to their statements, criticism, hysteria, and everything else we
00:18:01are observing, especially from representatives the Kiev authorities.
00:18:05This is not bad for Russia, it shows that of... all the contradictions that
00:18:08existed and still exist within the Trump administration, both with the
00:18:12Europeans and with the Ukrainians, are not going anywhere. On the
00:18:15contrary, over time, they will likely escalate further. As for the
00:18:19Ukrainians, the situation is certainly difficult right now, especially with their
00:18:23opinions being disregarded. They are already attempting to work in opposition to the
00:18:27Americans, promising to strike Russian refineries regardless of what Trump
00:18:30thinks, and I do not rule out the possibility that they might run into a situation
00:18:34where the Americans, shall we say, completely cut off. exchange of
00:18:38intelligence, if that happens, the situation for the armed forces of
00:18:41Ukraine will, of course, worsen, as we can see representatives the
00:18:45European War party, the Euroocrats continue to insist stubbornly on the
00:18:49necessity of waging war against us and maintaining confrontation with
00:18:52Russia. They are not ready to retreat from their positions, even against the backdrop
00:18:56the serious energy problems we are currently observing in the eurozone and the European Union
00:19:00as a whole. In other words, they are stepping on the same rake once
00:19:04again.
00:19:05It is also worth noting that the coordination of this. large sanctions package is
00:19:08ahead, it will apparently be the most massive one yet, simply in terms the
00:19:12number of companies and individuals to be included. however, it will most likely
00:19:16be unable to exert serious impact on the situation. that is to say, it
00:19:20is an endless process, a game of cat and mouse that in reality yields
00:19:24no actual effect. i think Zelensky will now become increasingly active in
00:19:28criticizing Trump's actions. this is for a predictable reason. because trump
00:19:32has elections ahead. i believe the Ukrainian lobby is hoping that the democrats
00:19:35in the event their potential. will force Trump to resume support for
00:19:39Kiev, allowing them to work with the Democratic Party by bypassing the current
00:19:43administration, but at the same time we understand that no democrats are going to
00:19:47save Ukraine this winter. In this regard, Ukraine will, of course have to rely its
00:19:51own strength, and those strengths as well as Europe strengths are as we see at the moment
00:19:55becoming less and
00:19:55less. Four
00:19:59Palestinians are being killed and 15 wounded in an Israeli strike on
00:20:03Gaza City, confirmed by Palestinian media. It comes a year after a
00:20:06cease fire. effect, but the deadly attacks never stopped. i should warn you,
00:20:10there are disturbing images
00:20:11ahead.
00:20:20the Israeli military has yet to issue a comment, though paramedics carried the
00:20:24dead and wounded from a neighborhood in Gaza city as residence and family gathered
00:20:28around. local said the fear of further attacks has become part of a
00:20:31daily life with no guarantee that people who leave home will ever return
00:20:35safe. These
00:20:39warplanes mean that when someone leaves their home, they cannot be sure they will
00:20:42return. There is no safety and no loss to protect us, it's as if
00:20:46we are not human beings. is there's been
00:20:50no ceasefire up to this moment since the first cease fire.
00:20:54strikes continue every day, there are marters every day, with homes,
00:20:58buildings, people and vehicles being targeted. now this comes as a
00:21:02large crowds are formed in central london with people taking part in the national march for
00:21:06palestine. organized by the palestine solidarity campaign, the
00:21:10demonstration is calling for immediate end to military action in Gaza,
00:21:14a whole to UK arms export to Israel and
00:21:17sanctions. the demonstration marks through. years since the conflict
00:21:21began and the first anniversary the US broker cease fire between Israel and
00:21:25Hamas, which has been shattered countless times, most notably by
00:21:29Israel. A journalist and host the deep dive perspective podcast
00:21:32Sied Mosin Abbas was at the rally. He says growing public pressure
00:21:36is forcing the UK government to think
00:21:39differently. This is a pretty big demonstration
00:21:43again, yet again and I think it comes on the back of
00:21:47uh Edvan basically uh capitulated.
00:21:50"accepting that these demonstrators were right all along and saying
00:21:54that actually they got it wrong, the labour party got it wrong, and
00:21:57he's, I guess, made the first moves towards what might
00:22:01be a more palatable uh position from the people's point of
00:22:05view, I declaring settlers
00:22:08terrorists, and also declaring the fact that
00:22:12Israel is violating international law, so there are several bits of
00:22:15progress which have boied the crowd here today, and I think speeches
00:22:19are reflecting..." that kind of hopefulness and they're taking i guess a
00:22:23way some the credit saying actually these protests do work and
00:22:27rallying against uh the the the parties and their line which is
00:22:31usually differential towards Israeli policy and perhaps many would
00:22:34argue actually a British government which is Israeli captured so
00:22:38there's a lot of hope and lot of uh positivity in this
00:22:42demonstration right now the realistic demands are really that the uh
00:22:46arms to Israel should be stopped all together uh trade with israel
00:22:50should be boycotted and that the labour government should be
00:22:53make much more strident efforts to make Israel comply
00:22:57with this international law and to increase the amount
00:23:01of practical if you like censoring of
00:23:05Israel wherever they possibly can, there is this awkward question
00:23:08the two state solution, because that's what
00:23:12Ed Millivan was pushing towards and it's still what the official government line is,
00:23:16nobody wants to necessarily yet address the issue that Gen
00:23:20post genocide, we've got a situation where we're asking Palestinians
00:23:24now to come exist with the people who basically are committed
00:23:27to wiping them out.
00:23:31Iran's revolutionary guard says a super tanker carrying crude
00:23:35oil caught fire after hitting a naval mine while attempting to
00:23:39cross the straight of hormoos. That's a footage published by the
00:23:42IRGC showing a tanker in flames in that critical
00:23:45waterway, with no end in sight to the crisis, Persian gulf countries
00:23:49are scrap. rambling for alternative ways to get their oil to global markets,
00:23:53but finding path that is both cheap and safe has turned out to be an
00:23:56enormous challenge, as our correspondent now
00:23:59explains. the straight of hormus
00:24:03is a choke point and when it closes, the question is not
00:24:06just how to get the oil out, but how to redraw the map of
00:24:10global energy, and there are already attempts to find alternatives.
00:24:14Iraq is now looking west towards Syria and the
00:24:17Mediterranean and its first work around maybe thousands
00:24:21of trucks moving crew one load a time. I
00:24:25expect the export of Iraqi crew via Syria by trucks to start
00:24:29as soon as possible as the deal between both governments is almost
00:24:32done. So hopefully by mid October the first chain of trucks with
00:24:36crude will come to Syria. That would turn Syria into a
00:24:40kind of emergency bridge, but can it really be that?
00:24:44Now, around a thousand trucks a day are said to be carrying fuel oil from
00:24:48Iraq into Syria, old. ly reaching the Mediterranean coast,
00:24:52but the question is whether that same road network can absorb
00:24:56crude in much larger quantities. I think there will
00:25:00be at least the same number of trucks with crude as with fuel oil, or even
00:25:04more than 1,00 trucks per day, because the quantity of Iraqi crude
00:25:08is much more than a fuel oil. If one truck can carry roughly
00:25:12around 220 barrels, then a thousand trucks would move
00:25:15around 220,000 barrels a day.
00:25:20However, that is still small, considering Iraq's
00:25:23break, crisis export reached around 3.5 million barrels a
00:25:26day by sea. For that, you need roughly
00:25:3016,00 tanker trucks every
00:25:3324 hours, so the truck route is useful, but it
00:25:37is not replacement for Hormus, it's more of a
00:25:41pressure volve, and there's another problem, cost, a
00:25:44single sea tanker can move hundreds of thousands of barrels in
00:25:48one journey, by Comparison, transporting oil by
00:25:51road means moving much smaller quantities a
00:25:55time, requiring far more individual trips, and that's
00:25:59why the real strategic prize is a...
00:26:02pipeline because it can move millions of barrels
00:26:05continuously without the hurdles the truck route deals
00:26:09with, and two years, the straight of hermooth will be like
00:26:13a worthless piece of water, the
00:26:17the the oil will be going on pipelines across land.
00:26:21what we are going to see over the next two years, the straight is going to become
00:26:25irrelevant, it is going to become just another body
00:26:28of water, and i would say that more than 50 or...
00:26:3270% the energy that moves through the straight
00:26:36now is going to go through, but again, there's a catch: pipelines have
00:26:40to be designed, financed, negotiated, built,
00:26:44and of course protected. for instance, Saudi Arabia's east-west
00:26:48pipeline can carry millions of barrels a day, but
00:26:51attacks have shown how vulnerable overland infrastructure can be, and
00:26:55there is a price tag, take the proposed Iraq Syria crude pipeline. The
00:26:59project could take around four years and cost. least
00:27:03$15 billion dollars with initial target capacity of
00:27:06only around 2 million barrels per day, but the challenge
00:27:10isn't just about the money, it's the geography as well. A
00:27:14pipeline crossing several countries means several governments
00:27:17have seat at the table with transit agreements, fees,
00:27:21security guarantees and potentially political leverage, so if
00:27:25Iraq wants to reach the Mediterranean through Syria, it needs
00:27:29Syria on board, and roots farther west can't mean even
00:27:33more countries and even more negotiations, which brings us to
00:27:37another idea. Israel has openly proposed redirecting energy
00:27:40infrastructure westward away from the Gulf and toward the Red Sea and
00:27:44the Mediterranean. just have oil pipelines, gas
00:27:48pipelines going west through the Arabian
00:27:52peninsula, right up to Israel, right up to our Mediterranean ports, and you've
00:27:56just done away with the choke points for forever. people will
00:28:00move the energy pipe. lines out the
00:28:03straits to the red sea, from there to Israel in the
00:28:07Mediterranean. I am already telling you that you will begin to see
00:28:11energy pipelines moving not through the Gulf,
00:28:14but westward, and we have an opportunity here to be on that route to the
00:28:17Mediterranean. The idea sounds fairly simple there:
00:28:21move energy west across the Arabian peninsula rather than through the
00:28:25Gulf, but the map tells a different story: Iraq
00:28:29and Saudi Arabia don't border Israel, so... any route
00:28:33west would require agreements with range of regional
00:28:36actors, meaning borders, negotiations, and
00:28:39potential points of failure, and that is the problem with
00:28:43almost every alternative to hormose, so moving oil
00:28:47away from the straight doesn't necessarily remove the geopolitical
00:28:51risk, the challenge facing at post Hormus energy map
00:28:55stays, finding route that is large,
00:28:58cheap and secure enough to survive.
00:29:03Right, before we go here on the program, a quick recap of our breaking news for you here on
00:29:07RT, because Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil aviation
00:29:11said the October the 10th attack on the King Khalid International Airport
00:29:15in Riyad killed 12 people and wounded 309
00:29:19others, some critically, and it is the Hutis and the Huthies Ansar Allah
00:29:23movement that carried out the attack as the group confirmed to us a little bit
00:29:27earlier. Yeah,
