00:00:17Donald of Trump announces there's an energy ceasefire between Moscow and
00:00:21Kief, just day after saying Ukraine needs a new leader,
00:00:25while Russia has yet to comment,
00:00:27of Vladimir Zelensky is caught by surprise saying Kiif will agree. if Moscow
00:00:30does the
00:00:31same.
00:00:35Saudi defenses intercept another cruise missile near
00:00:38Riyad's main airport and that's after the hoothies warned against anyone
00:00:42using Saudi airspace following
00:00:46of their devastating strike on the airport which left 12 people dead and more than
00:00:50300 wounded. The hoothis confirm to RT they were behind
00:00:53the attack. These attacks are yemeny
00:00:57attacks. We do not do this out of revenge or to... vengeance,
00:01:00of but rather to force the Saudi leadership to accept a comprehensive and permanent
00:01:04peace by agreeing to end the war the attacks are now intensifying
00:01:07across southern Leben and they're increasingly striking areas beyond
00:01:11the shifting boundaries of its so-called
00:01:13of yellow of zone. as ADF strikes on Lebanon
00:01:17continue unabated, the country's prime minister reveals
00:01:20of a crippling budget deficit. It leaves financial recovery of
00:01:24a distant prospect despite offers of support from
00:01:27in Hezbollah. most of... village was
00:01:31in a destroyed, there is no sign of life, people were given ready-made housing units to
00:01:35live in, but they are completely bare. there is nothing inside. life is
00:01:39difficult due to the constant presence of aircraft and ongoing
00:01:42strikes. we are always
00:01:44anxious.
00:01:50of it's time for the news on RT international. my name
00:01:54iskanov, welcome to the program.
00:01:58barely an hour seems to
00:01:59of pass with. without Donald Trump making a new announcement on Russia and Ukraine, from
00:02:03diesel deals with Moscow to calling for new leader in Kieve. The US
00:02:07president is now claiming the warring nations have both agreed on immediate
00:02:11holt to attacks on each other's
00:02:13of energy infrastructure. Effective
00:02:17of immediately, there is an energy sacefire in the war between Russia and
00:02:22of of Ukraine. Both parties have agreed, do not break
00:02:24it. And for more on this, let's
00:02:28of cross live now to our senior correspondent. Murad: Donald Trump
00:02:31is now claiming there's an energy truce in the conflict, just days after cutting a
00:02:35diesel deal with
00:02:36in Vladimir Putin, break these latest developments down for us,
00:02:39please. Well, this
00:02:43is the second time in the span of months that Donald Trump has
00:02:46declared surprisingly to the entire world that
00:02:50Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an energy cease fire.
00:02:54Last time uh Zelensky came out very quickly and said there's
00:02:58no such deal uh in place. This time Zelensky
00:03:01has also come out and said that this is the first time he's heard of
00:03:05it, that if Russia and the United States and
00:03:09agreed to an energy cease fire that please inform
00:03:14of Ukraine and Ukraine would be willing to join in, which is in
00:03:17start contrast to what
00:03:19of Zolensky said previously, the last time Trump had
00:03:23of declared an energy cease fire between Russia and Ukraine,
00:03:27Zelensky came out with all manner. conditions, he
00:03:31wanted a hole to russian strikes on Ukrainian
00:03:35of shipping, the strikes that Zelensky himself began
00:03:39of when he launched a campaign against Russian uh
00:03:43shipping, then Zelensky demanded that there was an end to
00:03:46strikes on Ukrainian logistics and all again
00:03:50all manner of
00:03:54of of conditions uh now under tremendous pressure
00:03:57of with Trump
00:03:58of himself coming out you uh as well as American
00:04:01senators supporting Trump, congress people coming out and
00:04:05saying that
00:04:06you know what, perhaps it's time for Zelensky to
00:04:10go, should have never started, you wouldn't have
00:04:14lost 30% of your country already, you've lost
00:04:1730% of your country and you've had over
00:04:21million people killed, but he could have settled it many times and he
00:04:24chose not to, that's a war that should have
00:04:27of never started, and I think it's time for Ukraine to... new
00:04:30president, Donald Trump
00:04:34uh, referring there of course to the
00:04:37multitude of peace deals that Russia had put
00:04:40forward, that the United States had approved,
00:04:44deal made between the United States and Russia
00:04:47anchrage in Alaska during the meeting between Putin and
00:04:51Trump, they agreed
00:04:52in a framework there, Ukraine rejected it time and time
00:04:56again, for years, Ukraine has either rejected or demanded.
00:05:00conditions that Russia simply wouldn't accept and here Donald Trump coming
00:05:04out and outright to the public to cameras saying these
00:05:08person you's incapable of making a deal perhaps
00:05:11another. should come in, they should hold elections.
00:05:15Zelensky previously had dismissed any notion
00:05:19of elections, his arguments had been that simply too many people have
00:05:23left Ukraine. Ukraine's population of course, great
00:05:27demographic tragedy, half essentially from
00:05:3042 million before this conflict a
00:05:3420 odd million Ukraines current population, then
00:05:38Zelensky complained that simply too many people now
00:05:41live. Russian citizens in Zaparoji region,
00:05:44herson region, the donbas, Lugansk and
00:05:48Danilsk. Elections he said are simply impossible. Never
00:05:52mind that Russia staged elections in
00:05:55September. You had voting in frontline
00:05:59villages, soldiers, almost million
00:06:02managed to vote, yet Zelensky claims, simply
00:06:05impossible in Ukraine. Now the tune has
00:06:09changed, now he's demanding, I see.
00:06:1360 days to hold elections in
00:06:15Ukraine, please tell
00:06:19Putin, give us two months, 60 days
00:06:23of total cease fire, 60 days and we will
00:06:27organize elections, of course we will be ready
00:06:31for any choice of our people, exactly
00:06:34Ukrainian people, how quickly
00:06:37Zelensky uh, well changed his mind on
00:06:41elections now that Donald Trump. again senior united states official,
00:06:45even even musk piled on saying
00:06:48that perhaps it is time for Zelensky to move on,
00:06:52for someone new to come in, nevertheless
00:06:55this is all you know in star contrast to Zelensky before, now
00:06:58he's what can only be described this panic mode,
00:07:02you've you've had reports, endless reports of him
00:07:06calling European officials seeking their
00:07:09support in both the spat. United
00:07:13States regarding elections, but also America's
00:07:16insistence a halt to strikes on Russian oil
00:07:20refinaries and that is what it what is at the root of this.
00:07:23Previously when Donald Trump very publicly came out and said Ukraine
00:07:27must stop these strikes. Russia of course before this conflict
00:07:31supplying 20 more than 20% the
00:07:35world's uh global gas
00:07:38supplies, more than 10% the world's
00:07:41oil. and that of course is shortage
00:07:45caused by Ukrainian strikes, it hurts everyone, it is
00:07:48felt by everyone, but no one quite like
00:07:52the United States where elections depend on the price
00:07:56of gas of petrol of diesel
00:08:00at the pump, and the United States and Russia have made it
00:08:03deal whereby Putin has agreed to supply the United
00:08:07States with diesel fuel again which is
00:08:10manufactured or... made a russian refineries
00:08:14which are under attack by Ukraine. Previously, when Donald
00:08:18Trump called on Zelensky to hold those strikes.
00:08:22Zelensky came out and said, "No, we're going to
00:08:25burn all them," which led to Donald Trump of
00:08:29course coming out and saying, "perhaps it's time for Zelensky to
00:08:33go. Star contrast to what Zelenski
00:08:37said previous. Why are
00:08:40they blaming you?" for the continuation of this
00:08:43war, because these
00:08:47people can't find a key how to
00:08:51stop Putin, because it's
00:08:55more difficult to stop
00:08:59Putin than to pressure
00:09:01others,
00:09:04but obvious Russia doesn't depend on
00:09:08the good will the Congress the United States or any.
00:09:12European leaders, Russia manufactures, it has its
00:09:16own economy, it has its own sovereign decision making
00:09:20process, Ukraine, on the other hand, entirely
00:09:23dependent on the United States for munitions, for
00:09:27example, for communications, its entire
00:09:30military command and control structure
00:09:33depends on Starling, they have no
00:09:36alternative, so of course it's easier for the United
00:09:39States to to pressure Zelensky, that is the... choice that
00:09:42Zelensky himself made when he took
00:09:46untold billions in aid or loans
00:09:50from the west and put the Ukrainian military on the
00:09:54hook of again European and
00:09:58American leaders. Nevertheless we have
00:10:00seeing you know happening
00:10:03in real time a change in Zelensky's domean
00:10:07from eternal war to much more flexible
00:10:11approach where again. He is trying to
00:10:15appease Donald
00:10:16Trump. ZFRT senior
00:10:20corespondent, thank you for that extensive
00:10:22report. and earlier we spoke with the former
00:10:26US Marine Core Intelligence officer Scott Rider and he says time is
00:10:30long passed for Zolansky to be making any demands and he's not
00:10:34in a position to dictate to any rules.
00:10:38Vlodimir Zelinski, I mean it's it's difficult to call him president, even though he claims
00:10:41that title is, it's been pointed out uh, his mandate expired a
00:10:45while back and he um hasn't held a new election,
00:10:49but uh uh Zelinsky is in the position to dictate
00:10:53terms to nobody uh "he's losing the war on the
00:10:56battlefield, he's losing the war economically, he's losing the
00:11:00war uh politically, both at home and abroad.
00:11:04um, the the bottom line is that president Trump is
00:11:07absolutely correct here, that uh, it's time for Zelensky to go, the
00:11:11question is uh, who will replace him, and will this
00:11:15alter the uh, the the the reality that
00:11:19currently has uh settled in over Ukraine, Ukraine is defeated
00:11:22state, the uh experiment..." that Europe and United States
00:11:26foisted on Ukraine uh in beginning this conflict
00:11:30um by empowering western Ukrainian nationalis this experiment has
00:11:34failed and uh unless you replace Zelinsky with somebody
00:11:38who recognizes the failure of this experiment and acts
00:11:42um accordingly, you're just going to get a continuation the
00:11:45same. now there's been a new
00:11:48attack near Riyad's main international airport, the Saudi Alad
00:11:52coalition says its air defenses intercepted. and destroyed cruise
00:11:56missile, and it comes after huthi military spokesperson warned
00:11:59anyone from using Saudi Arabia's airports or
00:12:02airspace. On Saturday, 12 people were killed and more than
00:12:06300 wounded in a khuthi attack a King Khalid international
00:12:10airport in Riad. Unverified footage just circulating
00:12:14online appears to show the immediate aftermath inside the airport and Moscow has
00:12:17condemned the strike and called on both sides to abandon attacks on
00:12:21civilian infrastructure. A Riad based correspondent. the strike
00:12:25inflicted substantial damage to terminals which handle both domestic
00:12:29and international
00:12:30flights. the yemeny
00:12:34armed forces renew their warning to all shipping companies, airlines, experts,
00:12:38employees, workers and travelers against using Saudi airports and
00:12:41airspace, as they are exposed to targeting and are a theater for
00:12:45operations by our forces, with the exception the airports of Mecca,
00:12:49al-Mukarrama, and Medina Al-Munawara. We urge everyone to take
00:12:53our warning seriously, and Saudi Arab... bears responsibility for any
00:12:56failed interceptions.
00:13:00Indeed, this statement was issued by the Saudi General Authority of Civil
00:13:04Aviation, approximately six hours after the initial announcement made
00:13:07earlier today. It provided details on the number of casualties,
00:13:11confirming 12 dead and 309 wounded, including several
00:13:15in critical condition currently receiving treatment at hospitals in
00:13:18Riad. Among the dead were four Saudi nationals, two
00:13:22Bangladeshis, one American citizen. one Egyptian, one
00:13:26Jordanian, one Syrian, and one Palestinian. May they all rest
00:13:30in peace. Airport operations remain suspended for the time being
00:13:33as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of facilities
00:13:37and the continuation of operational processes. The recent statement
00:13:41also confirms that efforts are underway to assess the extent the material
00:13:45damages in coordination with authorities. Today's toll may represent
00:13:49the highest recorded from either huti or Iranian attacks during assaults on the
00:13:53kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I must also mention the attempt to maintain
00:13:57operations at King Fodd International Airport in Damasham, which is
00:14:00situated outside the city. We are currently managing the situation as
00:14:04there has also been an incident outside the airport area. This provides a
00:14:08summary of what has transpired thus far and we are awaiting further details
00:14:12regarding the injuries that are being treated. Furthermore, we have received
00:14:16information concerning the extent the damage to that airport. According to our
00:14:20sources, the areas impacted were terminal 3 and terminal 4.
00:14:23Terminal 3 is design.
00:14:42Yes, these attacks are Yemeni attacks after 12 years of Saudi
00:14:46aggression, destroying Yemen infrastructure, whether airports, ports,
00:14:50even wedding and funeral halls as well as schools, hospitals and
00:14:53markets. everything in Yemen and targeted and destroyed all
00:14:57infrastructure, and today it acknowledges that airports are civilian
00:15:01facilities that must not be targeted under international law, but
00:15:05we say that we deal with Saudi Arabia in kind and our military operations
00:15:08deep inside the Saudi entity will continue and will not end except by
00:15:12destroying all Saudi infrastructure belonging to the government, whether military
00:15:16facilities, airports, or even ports and any vital facilities belonging to the
00:15:20Saudi regime. We do not do this out of revenge or to take vengeance,
00:15:24but rather to... the Saudi leadership to accept a comprehensive and permanent peace
00:15:28by agreeing to end the war and end the siege by both sides. The Saudi
00:15:32leadership can agree to achieve peace and these are Yemen's
00:15:34demands. amid a rapid
00:15:38escalation the conflict in Yemen. The Hutis have released footage which they
00:15:42say shows dozens of fighters from the sorry-backed presidential council
00:15:46surrendering. The video comes as Saudi Arabia and its regional
00:15:49partners plan to step up their military coordination on Monday,
00:15:53raising concerns that the conflict could expand further and draw
00:15:57more countries in. And earlier this
00:16:01week, Saudiled forces in Yemen already destroyed three the
00:16:04huti's rocket launch platforms. which they claimed were used
00:16:08to quote threaten regional security, and the Saudi Air Force
00:16:12was said to have carried out 59 air strikes and missile attacks in
00:16:16just 24 hours, causing multiple casualties.
00:16:19Political consultant Ahmed Husai says the attacks mark
00:16:23a dangerous escalation with civilian casualties raising the
00:16:27stakes and the prospect of US involvement adding to the
00:16:30uncertainty across the entire region.
00:16:34It's not just the airport that is significance, I mean the... escalation the
00:16:38ansarullah's aggression against Saudi Arabia
00:16:42has been pushed to the limits, the significance
00:16:46here is the way I see it is it's part
00:16:49the the regional movement
00:16:53basically since the war erupted. Trump stated that we'll
00:16:56make decision quote unquote when asked if the US would join
00:17:00assaudi strikes against the hoothies, but what are the implications of a
00:17:04potential US military involvement for Yemen and the
00:17:07region before, I mean, before the statement, it
00:17:11was clear how the United States of America saw and
00:17:15evaluated the situation in Yemen and didn't, they didn't want to interven
00:17:19or even to be involved in that matter, now
00:17:22I understand the statement
00:17:25since Saudi is one the most
00:17:29important allies in the region, giving that the size of Saudi Arabia is
00:17:32big, we've seen the same thing happening in Iran, it's not easy to
00:17:36protect all the... when the land is big, yet at the same
00:17:39time, we have to understand that the infrastructure, of
00:17:43course it's important, and along with the infrastructure, we started to see
00:17:47losses in civilian lives, this is an important
00:17:51escalation that could not and should not be left
00:17:54unanswered, hence we will see
00:17:57developments on escalations over the next few hours or the next few
00:18:01days, with Saudi Arabia coming under attack from the
00:18:05hoothies a daily basis now, the Mecca defensive agreement between
00:18:09the kingdom, Turkey and Pakistan is in force. However,
00:18:13Ankara has cautioned that it will not send its troops to another country for
00:18:17any military offensive. Let me
00:18:21stress again, my friends, that this is defense agreement. When a state
00:18:24party to this agreement comes under attack, you stand by it to help it defend
00:18:28itself. This is not an offensive agreement. In other words, Turkey will
00:18:32not send its forces to the territory of another state to carry out
00:18:35attack. In Mecca, three leaders signed a promise. An attack
00:18:39on one is attack on all. Turkia, Saudi
00:18:43Arabia, Pakistan. Two months on that promise is
00:18:47under fire. Hoothi missiles and drones keep hitting Saudi airports and
00:18:50oil sites. Meeting in Riad, the Mecca Alliance agreed to send
00:18:54forces to the kingdom and quickly. The committee
00:18:58decided to move immediately to the practical implementation the collective defense
00:19:02commitments and to take the necessary measures to provide the agreed military
00:19:06forces and capabilities. and ensure their rapid deployment in the kingdom,
00:19:10in accordance with the approved arrangements and the national legislation the parties,
00:19:14thereby enhancing readiness, military integration, and the collective
00:19:17capacity to confront and counter threats. President Erdogan has spelled
00:19:21out what that support could look like. Such support
00:19:25could take the form of intelligence, logistical or ammunition assistance. More
00:19:29advanced military support could also be considered, depending on the scale the threat.
00:19:33Unkira keeps the details to itself and reports are filling the silence.
00:19:37special forces, pilots and aircraft, helping defend Riyad and
00:19:41the Holy Cities. An American official says the help includes Turkish drone
00:19:45operators, none of
00:19:46it is on the record. Monday statement does set one condition:
00:19:50forces deploy in accordance with the national legislation of each
00:19:54country. In Turkia, that means parliament, and parliament hasn't
00:19:58even ratified the pact. As for the Mecca
00:20:01agreement, the process here has in fact matured in terms the work done by
00:20:05the ministry, but of course for. agreement to take effect, it will come to
00:20:09parliament, and since this work has matured,
00:20:11it will be sent to parliament within a few days. Ankara's
00:20:15ambitions reach beyond the red sea. David Bach, who
00:20:18leads the nationalist MHP, the ruling party's partner in parliament,
00:20:22says the pact will elevate the country to the center of global
00:20:26geopolitics. This is an exceptionally sound and important
00:20:30agreement. Its tendency towards expansion is also of immense
00:20:33strategic value. If
00:20:35these efforts are carried out under Turkey's leader. this will bring us to
00:20:38the center, making us much more reputable in the world. so
00:20:42the next vote in Ankara is a treaty, not on troops, sending
00:20:46soldiers would take second decision of its own. the... the
00:20:50arithmetic favors the government, the ruling alliance, the justice and development
00:20:54party and the nationalist movement party holds
00:20:57326 of parliament's 600 seats, the largest
00:21:01opposition party wants no part in it, and its leader uzguruza
00:21:04says, signing defense pack with a country at war makes turke
00:21:08a party to that conflict. international agreements
00:21:12will have to be approved in this parliament if there are soldiers and weapons involved.
00:21:16we do not accept being part of Trump's middle east order, we do not accept the...
00:21:20venturism of Trump, which will send soldiers to the deserts of Yemen for 100
00:21:23years. Ankara frames its role as defending Saudi
00:21:27Arabia. The Houthi's leader Abdul Malikhi has message for
00:21:31Ankara and Islamabad. The
00:21:35Saudis want to involve regional powers not only from the Arab arena,
00:21:39but even within the Islamic world. They aim to bring in the Turks and
00:21:43entangle them, to involve the Pakistanis as well, seeking their
00:21:47help day and night, calling out for them to assist them. to fight alongside
00:21:51them, to share in the sin and aggression against our dear people. a
00:21:54senior huti official, muhammad al-Bukaiti says the group doesn't
00:21:58expect Turkish or Pakistani troops inside Yemen,
00:22:02but even indirect help, he warns counts as joining them
00:22:06war, and last month he warned Ankara and
00:22:09Islamabad would meet an iron fist.
00:22:12Yasan, rt,
00:22:13inistomble. Now, for
00:22:17second day a row, New Delhi has been hit with. protests over alleged
00:22:21electoral fraud, the government rejects the claim citing India's economic
00:22:25growth and the prime minister's popularity as the key to recent
00:22:28success at the ballot box. artist rujud
00:22:31reports. now thousands of protesters have been
00:22:35detained by the Delhi Police and commandos and forces
00:22:39from the other forces as well which includes CRPF,
00:22:42Raf, SSB, BSF etc. now these
00:22:46protesters were detained because they were year out on the streets of New Delhi.
00:22:50and central delhi protesting against Janesh
00:22:53Kumar who is the chief election commissioner of India
00:22:57and they are demanding his resignation along with other demands like
00:23:01scrapping of SIR voter list because over
00:23:04130 million people were left out the voter list
00:23:08now remember these protests were lead by the Cookroat Janata party that is the
00:23:12CJP however the main members and the founder
00:23:16of this party was detained just yesterday. as soon as
00:23:20they landed in Delhi for the protest, today as of now they have been
00:23:24released and they also held a press briefing where they have said
00:23:28and ensured everybody that all these protests would still
00:23:32continue till their demands are met. now remember
00:23:36all these areas of New Delhi and central Delhi are coming under the
00:23:40BNSSs 163 section which
00:23:43enforces the rule that more than four people cannot
00:23:47gather in one location and if done so... then they would be
00:23:50detained, hence lot of protesters, more than thousands of
00:23:54protesters have been detained in these two days,
00:23:58now the police have not seeen any
00:24:01violence happening during these protest, however the
00:24:05police are taking extra care that these
00:24:09protests do not go further, they are not allowing people to gather
00:24:13in one place, over 200 or 300
00:24:16police march in the streets of these lanes
00:24:20in central Delhi and New Delhi where they try to
00:24:24detain these protesters and control the crowd movement,
00:24:28in fact
00:24:29we have also witnessed that there have been water cannons,
00:24:33vehicles, lot of police vans and buses to
00:24:36detain these protesters and also lot of
00:24:40tier gas vehicles placed and stationed
00:24:43in some areas where these protests are going on, now
00:24:47all these protests were going to happen a design place that's the
00:24:51jantar mantar here in delhi, however the permission was
00:24:54denied for the protest to happen there, which is exactly why a
00:24:58lot of protesters, including student union
00:25:01members started protesting just near the areas
00:25:05of jantar mantar which is also this place called knot
00:25:09place. now lot of protesters have already been
00:25:13detained, but people are still coming in, in
00:25:17fact the important thing to note here, is that
00:25:21uh people are still coming in, even though CJP has said that these
00:25:24protests would continue and tomorrow there is a chance
00:25:28that different political parties which are the opposition
00:25:32political parties might also carry forward with
00:25:36such protest and with the same demands, in fact last week we
00:25:40also witnessed that India block which is the
00:25:44multiparty opposition block of India
00:25:48also held a series if protests back to back
00:25:51demanding the same
00:25:52things
00:25:57and emit a surge and IDF strikes on Lebanon, the country's prime
00:26:01minister has acknowledged critical budget shortfall, despite
00:26:05Hezbollah offering support, financial recovery remains a distant
00:26:09prospect with Washington tying additional help to the disarmament
00:26:13the militant group, and artist Steve Sweeniy has
00:26:15more. Well, weran's ultra argo beer, one the so-called pilot
00:26:19zones sitting right on the edge of Israel's yellow line, the zone of
00:26:23occupation, a drone hovers overhead watching us ominously, and just moments
00:26:27ago there was an air strikers fighter jets raw overhead watching us,
00:26:30Israely attacks and now in... tensifying across southern Lebanon, they're
00:26:34increasingly striking areas beyond the shifting boundaries of its
00:26:38so-called yellow zone. We have been displaced twice,
00:26:42first in 2024 and again in 2026. This time
00:26:46the situation was truly tragic. Most the village was destroyed. There
00:26:50is no sign of life. People were given ready-made housing units to
00:26:54live in, but they are completely bare. There's nothing inside, even
00:26:57securing water is difficult, and there it is absolutely no
00:27:01electricity. Most... people sleep by candle
00:27:03light. life is difficult due to the
00:27:07constant presence of aircraft and ongoing strikes. we are always
00:27:11anxious. there
00:27:12is nothing here. if need water pitcher, i can't find one. i can't even make
00:27:16cup of tea or coffee. there's water, no refrigerator, no bed,
00:27:20no washing machine. there is absolutely nothing. it is extremely
00:27:23difficult. god help the army. it cannot even protect
00:27:27itself. let alone get the necessary weaponry. how then could it
00:27:31possibly protect civilians? had there been a strong state a well-armed
00:27:34military, Israel would never have dared to invade. At least
00:27:3835 artillery shells hit Mansouri. This is village on the
00:27:42end of that zone where the Israeli forces have progressively expanded their
00:27:46area of control. Mansori was then hit again on with air
00:27:49strikes, artillery and major detonations
00:27:52and Israely fire is also reaching well beyond that so-called yellow zone
00:27:55near myfur doon three Israeli artillery shells landed very close to
00:27:59journalists from algedeed and navatier news uh fortunately. there were no
00:28:03injuries in that particular attack, but once again it highlights the danger to those
00:28:07reporting on Israeli operations, as journalists are routinely
00:28:10targeted. Israeli forces attacked 15 southern towns with demolitions
00:28:14reported in six them, and in Hula, Israeli troops planted explosives
00:28:18inside the Jabalamo public school and then detonated it, just one of
00:28:22many schools destroyed in recent weeks. now all of this came immediately after
00:28:26prime minister now of Salam traveled to nearby Nabatia, promising
00:28:29reconstruction. his visit, however didn't go... smoothly, he was
00:28:33confronted by residents demanding to know when they could return home, many
00:28:37angry at what they see is government action. locals use that
00:28:41relative calm around the visit to enter navity, alfawa and
00:28:44expect and inspect the home sorry for the first time in months, but
00:28:48even as salam spoke, the Israeli attacks were hitting the surrounding
00:28:51area. i am not here to sell you illusions nor
00:28:55to promise what i cannot deliver. we still need significant
00:28:58funding. and it's the cost here that's key. salam previously identified.
00:29:02funding needed at $27 billion US dollars, a sum he says
00:29:06Lebanese State simply doesn't have. Now following his visit, Hesbollah Secretary
00:29:10General Naim Kassam said that the organization would contribute to shelter
00:29:14and reconstruction for the people displaced from the south. Hez MP,
00:29:18Hassan Fadlala said on Saturday that this pledge would unsettle the United
00:29:22States with Washington insisting that AID is tied to
00:29:25disarmament. We will not discuss the final figures relating to
00:29:29aid for our people in the housing program, as this would come as a shock. to the
00:29:32Americans. Well, exactly how much money Hezballah can provide and when
00:29:36remains unclear, but the immediate problem isn't simply who pays for
00:29:40reconstruction. It's the expansion the Israeli occupation.
00:29:43UniFau has documented Israeli forces operating from nearly 30 positions
00:29:47in southern Lebanon, including eight fortified bases. Israeli
00:29:51forces have already pushed beyond their own yellow line in some areas while Israeli
00:29:55officials say they want to retain a security zone extending as
00:29:59much as 10 kilometers inside Lebanon. This comes salam
00:30:02continues to talk, at least on the surface about Israeli
00:30:06withdrawal, seemingly in contradiction with the reality on the
00:30:09ground. your priorities will remain our
00:30:13priorities, stopping the Israeli attacks, Israel's complete
00:30:17withdrawal from our territory, and the safe and dignified return of
00:30:20people to their homes. now the eighth round of talks between Lebanon and
00:30:24Israel is planned for later this month with some saying they will take place in
00:30:27Florida, but months of negotiations have so far produced little
00:30:31concrete change for the... the south, Israel remains inside
00:30:34Lebanon and is expanding its presence while escalating its attacks as
00:30:38noted by uniful observers. hundreds have been killed since the latest
00:30:42opposed ceasefire. cease fire is something which Israel has never really
00:30:46ateared to. talks about reconstruction seem unrealistic while
00:30:49Israeli destruction continues. so the key question now is whether
00:30:53the negotiations can produce something tangible? that is an
00:30:57end to the attacks and an Israeli withdrawal.
