00:00:00decisions
00:00:02of and in their consequences. It's not an interview, it's
00:00:06a conversation. Let's
00:00:11of talk.
00:00:17Russia is yet to comment on Donald Trump's announcement of
00:00:22of energy cease fire in the Ukraine conflict. Now
00:00:24the US statement appears to have caught Zelensky by
00:00:28surprise as he says the key. would only
00:00:31in agree if Moscow does the same, the
00:00:35Europeans have given the Russians more money,
00:00:39they have since the start of this war than they have given the Ukrainians, because they
00:00:43cannot win themselves off Russian energy.
00:00:46Washington blasts EU's hypocrisy over Russian
00:00:50energy imports as German opposition officials
00:00:54demand their own Trump style diesel deal with
00:00:56Moscow. It is about ending the sanctions. against Russia
00:01:00about building the capacity for
00:01:02of peace rather than military readiness. The hoofies strike
00:01:06iad's
00:01:07main international airports three days in a row, killing more
00:01:10than dozen people and wounding over
00:01:13300.
00:01:22a Welcome to RG International reaching you with all the latest
00:01:26updates from around the world. I am Michael.
00:01:30Russia has yet to comment on Donald Trump's proposal
00:01:34for Moscow in Kieve to stop attacking each other's energy
00:01:37infrastructure. Well, this comes after a diesel deal was reached
00:01:41between Vladimir Putin and his American
00:01:44counterpart.
00:01:47Effective immediately, there is an energy sacefire in the war between
00:01:51Russia and Ukraine. Both parties have agreed, do not break
00:01:55it. This is the second time in mere weeks that
00:01:59we've... Donald Trump come out and declare an
00:02:02of energy cease fire between Russia and Ukraine this
00:02:06time, as last time,
00:02:08of Zelensky coming out within minutes to
00:02:10of comment of and saying that, well this is the first time he's heard of
00:02:14of it, saying that if Russia and the United States have agreed on an energy cease
00:02:18fire, well please inform Ukraine and that
00:02:21Ukraine would be
00:02:23of willing to join in, now that is a far cry from what we heard
00:02:27last time when Zelensky put forward. slew of
00:02:31precondition saying that Russia would also have to hold hold
00:02:34strikes on Ukrainian logistics and also hold
00:02:38strikes on Ukrainian shipping after Zelensky himself
00:02:41ordered his military to begin targeting Russian shipping,
00:02:45nevertheless uh Donald Trump coming out and saying that well perhaps
00:02:49it's it's time for new leader has
00:02:52certainly made Zelensky more pliable, should have never
00:02:56started, you wouldn't have lost 30% of your country already.
00:03:00"you've lost 30% of your country and you've had over
00:03:04million people killed, but he could have settled it many times and he
00:03:08chose
00:03:08of not to. that's a war that should have never started, and I think it's time
00:03:12for Ukraine to get new president,
00:03:16of suddenly things that were impossible previously have
00:03:19become possible. Zelensky of course saying that
00:03:23elections simply couldn't be held in Ukraine,
00:03:26of that simply too many people had
00:03:28a left, that too many people had. become
00:03:30in Russian citizens living across the donbas and Zaparoja region
00:03:34in Hirson region, suddenly elections are
00:03:38again possible. Please tell
00:03:41Putin, give us two months, 60 days
00:03:45of total
00:03:47of cease fire, 60 days and we will organize
00:03:50elections, of course we will be ready for any choice of
00:03:54our people, exactly Ukrainian
00:03:57of people, and that is exactly what... Russia has been
00:04:01referring to, and perhaps even Donald Trump himself, saying
00:04:04that every deal that they put forward to Zelensky, every
00:04:08offer is rejected on the basis that
00:04:12Zelensky puts forward counter
00:04:15demands that make any deal impossible. In this
00:04:19case, two-month seizfire for Zelensky to
00:04:22organize elections, something that
00:04:25in Russia had previously said it would simply be unable
00:04:29to... except
00:04:30of because those two months would be used by Ukraine to
00:04:34show up its military to rearm, retrain its troops
00:04:38and Ukraine would be flooded uh pumped to the
00:04:42teeth with weapons, with munitions, with
00:04:46drones, with rockets and missiles for
00:04:50round two. Russia has said that it managed to
00:04:53organize elections during the
00:04:56conflict, indeed Ukraine launched its big. attack on
00:05:00Moscow during those September parliamentary elections
00:05:04in Russia. Nevertheless, the elections were
00:05:07of successful and so could UK. Nevertheless
00:05:11that is uh... Zelensky's style to put forward
00:05:15conditions which make simply any deal
00:05:18impossible. Zelenski even felt confident enough
00:05:22to accuse Trump multiple times of
00:05:25being weak for engaging with
00:05:28Russia. He called the president week, two days
00:05:32ago and bombed oil refineries moments after the president announced a deal
00:05:36with Russia. Let's stop pretending that he's a good ally.
00:05:40Now Zelensky's complaint is the... It's
00:05:43him rather than Putin that Donald Trump is
00:05:47pressuring that again uh the the
00:05:51American president is displaying weakness
00:05:55according to Zelensky by pressuring Zelensky. This
00:05:58is the same Zelensky that has put
00:06:01Ukraine on the hook of Europe and the United
00:06:05States. Almost all those rockets and munitions shells
00:06:09coming into Ukraine are from the United.
00:06:12states paid for by Europeans, so of course there's
00:06:16a pressure mechanism on Zelensky, whereas
00:06:19Russia isn't dependent on the United States or Europe
00:06:23for anything, nevertheless Zelensky believes it is
00:06:27he personally who is the victim, why
00:06:31are they blaming you for the continuation of
00:06:34this war? because these
00:06:37people can't find a key how to
00:06:41stop Putin. because it's
00:06:45more difficult to stop
00:06:49Putin than to pressure others. Nevertheless,
00:06:53now Zelensky much less defined than he had
00:06:57been previously. There
00:06:58are also now reports that the Ukrainian negotiation team
00:07:02in the United States in Miami for talks was
00:07:05threatened by the American side with cut in
00:07:09unicion supplies if you can. in
00:07:12strikes on Russian oil refineries for
00:07:15a little background, Russia before this conflict supplied more than
00:07:1910% the world's oil exports, it
00:07:23supplied more than 20% of global natural
00:07:27gas exports, there was a huge
00:07:30quantities that even if the conflict in the middle east
00:07:34hadn't broken out and cut supplies from there a
00:07:38shortage of Russian supplies would be felt in every country in the world.
00:07:42Well, the United States is on the eve of elections. It is often said
00:07:46that Americans vote at the pump and incredibly reliant on
00:07:50cheap fuel. Now that the United States and
00:07:53Russia had made deal to supply diesel to supply
00:07:57also uh uh raw oil. The
00:08:01Ukrainian side Zelenski coming out and saying he would continue
00:08:05to burn Russian oil refineries is insulting of
00:08:09course for Donald Trump himself,
00:08:12but it's... seems that this time, after
00:08:15second round, the worst falling out between
00:08:18Zelensky and Donald Trump since early
00:08:212025, Zelensky has become
00:08:25more pliable, now while Donald Trump is
00:08:29trying to broker an energy deal, peace deal between Moscow and
00:08:33Kiev, the Kramlin says that Vladimir Zelensky appears to have no
00:08:37intention of resolving the conflict
00:08:39peacefully.
00:08:42Zelensky is a state of hysteria. If he were capable of deliberate
00:08:46rational action, he would be showing inclination toward peace negotiations
00:08:50right now, but he isn't. Instead, he demands more capabilities, more
00:08:54money, infrastructure access and the green light to strike deep into Russian
00:08:58territory from all his overseers. He demands funds for air
00:09:01defense, long-range weaponry and so on. In short, his
00:09:05seria drives him to favor aggression against Russia, aggression he believes
00:09:09will be effective. This is a mistake, a tragic mistake. for
00:09:12Ukraine, so earlier we spoke with former
00:09:16US Marine core intelligence officer Scott Ritter, he says that the
00:09:20expiration date for Zelensky making demands has long
00:09:23passed as he is not in the position to dictate any
00:09:27rules. Vlodimir Zelinski, I mean it's
00:09:31it's difficult to call him president, even though he claims that title is, it's been
00:09:34pointed out, his mandate expired a while back and
00:09:38he um, hasn't held a new election, but
00:09:42uh... Zelensky is in the position to dictate terms to
00:09:45nobody uh, he's losing the war on the battlefield, he's
00:09:49losing the war economically, he's losing the war uh
00:09:53politically, both at home and abroad. um, the the bottom
00:09:57line is that the president trump is absolutely correct here, that
00:10:00uh, it's time for Zelensky to go, the question is
00:10:04uh, who will replace him and will this alter
00:10:07the uh, the the the reality that currently
00:10:11has uh then over Ukraine, Ukraine is defeated state,
00:10:15the uh experiment that Europe and the United States foisted on
00:10:18Ukraine uh in beginning this conflict um by
00:10:22empowering western Ukrainian nationalists. experiment has
00:10:25failed, and unless you replace Zelinsky with somebody
00:10:29who recognizes the failure of this experiment and
00:10:33acts accordingly, you're just going to get a continuation the
00:10:36same. So oil prices have fallen on
00:10:40expectation of increased Russian supplies, although quotes
00:10:44still remain above $100. Now, as part the US
00:10:47Russia diesel agreement, Moscow will supply more than
00:10:51300,000 tons of diesel to American. and
00:10:55global market followed by a further half million tons
00:10:58in November. Now, according to President Trump,
00:11:01additional 1 million tons will be delivered immediately thereafter, with
00:11:05another 3 million tons to follow depending on the condition of
00:11:09Russia's refineries. Now US treasury secretary Scott
00:11:12Bessent has accused European leaders of hypocrisy.
00:11:16This is in response to the EU foreign policy chief
00:11:20speaking out against uh Washington's energy deal with
00:11:23Moscow. "the Europeans have
00:11:27given the Russians more money, they since the start of this
00:11:31war than they have given the Ukrainians, because they cannot win themselves
00:11:35off Russian energy. They had a failed energy
00:11:39policy, and Vladimir Putin, the they
00:11:42continue to fund him, so for them to say
00:11:46that we cannot have re respit in diesel
00:11:49pricing is completely
00:11:51hypocritical. All right."
00:15:25We've had very useful conversation and I'm sure that
00:15:28this is going to have a positive
00:15:32impact on
00:15:34developing.
00:17:37we support this context, we have always stood in favor of
00:17:41uh seeing Israeli security
00:17:45insured in the context the complete setttlement their relations
00:17:49with their arab neighbors and in the context the complete
00:17:53settlement of all the outstanding issues in the middle east based on the UN
00:17:56security council resolutions and of course by these will also mean
00:18:00the establishment state as the
00:18:07We can see that there there is a chance to promote this
00:18:11agenda, but to accomplish
00:18:14this,
00:18:18that чтобы would
00:18:22make
00:18:23decision everyone.
00:18:38They're still recovering from that piece of news about the diesel
00:18:41deal and yesterday Trump announced that there is an
00:18:45agreement to see strikes on the energy infrastructure of
00:18:49Ukraine in Ukraine and in Russia, so my question
00:18:52is is this agreement, has this
00:18:56agreement been truly reached and does Moscow confirm there is such an
00:19:00agreement
00:19:00and if yes then what are it
00:19:03terms?
00:20:50continue to accomplish the goals the special military operation,
00:20:53everyone is well aware what these goals are, we have never
00:20:57changed them, unlike Zelensky
00:21:01and his European
00:21:01masters, so we
00:21:05don't have to justify ourselves in front
00:21:13moscow attacks on civilian facilities and airports in Saudi
00:21:16Arabia, and what practical role can rus
00:22:50the same as China and Iran spoken favor the dialog among
00:22:54all the Persian gulf literal
00:22:56states, and I come from this
00:23:00assumption that if some practical steps are
00:23:03made towards making the countries in the region to
00:23:07agree among themselves without any interference from the
00:23:10outside, I believe this is will be the most realistic way
00:23:14to find a durable
00:23:17lasting. the involved states, thank
00:23:21you. all
00:23:25right, we've been watching the sav, russian
00:23:27there foreign are minister in his press briefing
00:23:31with his lebanese counterpart and talking to the
00:23:35press. now, few things he mentioned there, which I like to highlight here,
00:23:39he said that the both countries, that is Russia and Lebanon assess the
00:23:43situation, that's in their discussion, assess the situation
00:23:47in the conflict between Israel and Lebanon, know that the issue has
00:23:51still been on where southern part of Lebanon has been
00:23:54occupied by Israel. now he said that in their discussion,
00:23:58they looked at the uh UN resolutions on the issues
00:24:02around the middle east and he assured the
00:24:06continuation of engagement to guarantee security
00:24:10for
00:24:10all countries involved, including Israel and her neighbors
00:24:14especially from the framework the two state solution which
00:24:17is resolution by the United Nations. and now
00:24:21uh he also uh hinted that Russia looks
00:24:25to increase school scholarship for Lebanese students from
00:24:29about present 150 to something around
00:24:32e 180 or 200 and so on these
00:24:36are some the points he made there among
00:24:40other answers where he was they were feeling
00:24:43questions from journalists in there so let's get back to some the
00:24:47stories that we have been bringing you around the
00:24:50world,
00:24:54now Vladimir Zelenski has been stepping up his efforts to
00:24:58secure additional support by reaching out to leaders across
00:25:02Europe. Now this comes Amid Trump's later statements about the
00:25:06Ukrainian politician and the need for elections in
00:25:09Ukraine. Now he has spoken with heads of state from
00:25:13France, the UK and Poland attempts to get
00:25:17their backing. Now some
00:25:20the same countries that Zelensky has appealed
00:25:24to clearly have not benefited from breaking
00:25:28up trade relations with Russia, at least according
00:25:31to uh data there, so in
00:25:34the UK, for instance, the fuel crisis brought on by sanctions on
00:25:38Russian energy have cost its economy and estimated
00:25:41183 billion pounds over four
00:25:45years, including higher household electricity and heating
00:25:49bills. Now in France the government's energy tariff shield
00:25:53has helped minimize the impact on consumers with the
00:25:57bank the France estimating its fiscal cost at around
00:26:012.2% of dp over 2022 and
00:26:042023, but in Germany, economic losses
00:26:08linked to mitigating the energy crisis are estimated to
00:26:12have exceeded 50 billion euros. now Claudia
00:26:16Witig, a German opposition politition from the
00:26:19BSW party argues that restricting trade with
00:26:23Russia has only hurt Europe and its consumers,
00:26:26particularly in
00:26:32see no major contradiction acknowledging that peace negotiations with Russia are
00:26:36not within the powers of a state government. In this motion, we call on the federal
00:26:40government to use every means its disposal, including an initiative in the
00:26:44Bundesrat to ensure that diplomacy once again takes
00:26:47priority, that the focus returns to negotiations and that
00:26:51trade relations with Russia are normalized. The German economy is suffering
00:26:55greatly from the sanctions which have clearly not helped bring the war to an
00:26:58end. Instead, they have seriously damaged the economy.
00:27:03Now after the inaugural session the German
00:27:05saxont state parliament, opposition
00:27:09parties, AFD, AFD and BSW plan to
00:27:13introduce their first joint draft resolution. Now the proposal
00:27:17calls on the parliament to declare that sanctions against Russia
00:27:21as well as military and financial support for Ukraine have
00:27:24failed. Now we spoke with law makers from both parties to
00:27:28understand the motivations from derived from this initiative.
00:28:32sides so that young people no longer die in the war. We want to end the
00:28:36sanctions against Russia here, because these sanctions affect the German and Russian
00:28:40populations more than they affect politicians, and that is why this motion
00:28:43is so important. It is about ending the sanctions against Russia, about
00:28:47building the capacity for peace rather than military readiness. Chancellor
00:28:51Murt said that we must become ready for war. No, we must become committed to
00:28:55peace. We want peace in the world. That is why
00:28:57it is so important to initiate this debate and revive it here in
00:29:01Germany, so that the... can be brought an end through
00:30:24Welcome to Crosstock Bullhorns where all things are considered, I'm
00:30:27Peter Lebelle, with Ukraine on the ropes and its infrastructure being destroyed, the
00:30:30American administration makes an energy deal with Russia, meanwhile,
00:30:34NATO Brass gathers in Kiev to assess the damage they have brought
00:30:38about. Also, can the Mecca defense alliance save the House of
00:30:42SAD is new order coming about in the Middle
00:30:45East? To discuss these issues and more, I'm joined by my guest,
00:30:49George Samueli in Budapest, he's a podcast for the Gogle, which be found on YouTube in
00:30:53locals and here in Moscow.
