00:00:48in the departments of The district of Kimba in the department
00:00:50Lasanga, the plateaus, of Jouel ends this October 4, 2026, the atmosphere is
00:00:52unusual, a deleterious climate caused by divergences between the
00:00:56es and the populations, mostly young, who work in the...
00:01:00gold mining site, these divergences almost degenerated into
00:01:03a disturbing situation, informed the deputy Kimba
00:01:07Antoine Belly Bokolo Juy made an
00:01:10emergency visit which led
00:01:12portal of the Ministry of to a citizen
00:01:13the age of 96, an age of consultation, committed to the task and strong in his ability to
00:01:16gather, the elected representative of Kimba addressed the populations and
00:01:20the landowners directly in the local language, the populations of
00:01:23Kimba in general and those who work in the mining sites in particular were
00:01:27sensitized to the scrupulous respect of the new mining
00:01:31code in force, like a pedagogue,
00:01:34Bokoe called the populations to
00:01:37maturity and responsibility for a
00:01:40strong, united and indivisible Kimba before asking
00:01:43all companies that set up
00:01:47in search of to comply with the law. these sites are under the supervision of
00:01:50companies some of which have research and
00:01:54exploitation permits, others for prospecting
00:01:56her itinerary by discovering West permits, and so we made them understand
00:01:59that they must work in these sites in compliance with the
00:02:02law and the regulatory framework concerning mining in our country and above all
00:02:06mines dans notre pays et surtout il
00:02:08as part of the diversification of they must respect the environment and
00:02:10the problem is that they asked us to be vigilant with regard to these companies that come,
00:02:14they must present us with
00:02:18environmental and social impact studies and compliance with the specifications of the populations
00:02:21and a permit and insurance. The issue of
00:02:25Kimba's security was also raised in the debate. The deputy called
00:02:29for awareness and the denunciation of bandits who
00:02:32have fled the big cities to hide in this locality, the people of
00:02:36Kimba must respect the law, Kimba is not outside the
00:02:39republic, and so if in the republic a certain
00:02:43number of measures have been taken, these measures are valid in Kimba,
00:02:46so it was my duty
00:02:48part of the city, opposite to attract their attention, you have to be very careful, congratulations to
00:02:52the honorable, may God keep him
00:02:55for the next term, it should be noted that to provide water to
00:02:59the population. drilling is under construction in the four districts
00:03:03of central Kimba, after this citizen meeting, the
00:03:06activities suspended on the exploitation sites were
00:03:09relaunched. We landed in Dirry
00:03:13in the 9th arrondissement of Brazzaville, the fight against
00:03:17insalubrity continues since her taking office.
00:03:21the basin, sunrise is The mayor of this arrondissement
00:03:23the help of has decided to make the sanitation operations organized every
00:03:26first Saturday of the month in accordance with...
00:03:31governmental report Killiane Baya.
00:03:34In Jacques Opango, the challenges related to sanitation
00:03:38remain visible. In this district of the 9th arrondissement of
00:03:41Brazzaville, the state of certain spaces recalls the need
00:03:45for regular maintenance of the living environment. A sector that should
00:03:49soon receive a visit from the administrator mayor
00:03:54disrupted, due to the Pierre Émé Carol Akonzo Ngato as part of
00:03:56the continuation of sanitation operations. engaged in
00:04:00the arrondissement facing these difficulties, local
00:04:03officials are particularly well placed
00:04:06to testify to the needs of the district, we are disturbed by
00:04:10this pile of dirt that was caused by ourselves the population, knowing
00:04:14full well that it will cause us diseases and everything, but everyone comes to dump dirt here, for us
00:04:18it's a sigh of relief with the arrival of the new
00:04:21mayor, she
00:04:23the operation to make your thought before starting any other activity, she decided
00:04:26to come and see the dirt because...
00:04:30pointed, that goes straight to our hearts, this situation illustrates
00:04:33the importance of regular action on the ground,
00:04:37since her arrival at the head of the arrondissement,
00:04:39the administrator mayor has extended the operations of the first
00:04:43Saturday of the month with the objective of gradually
00:04:46extending this dynamic to the different districts of
00:04:49Jirie. We asked the neighborhood chiefs to give us
00:04:53the cases of sanitation problems, so that goes to
00:04:56erosion to areas where dirt is dumped.
00:05:12After obtaining this purity, we started for example with the
00:05:16Marseille Libalico schools and now we are tackling the problem of
00:05:19pipelines and after that we will move on to
00:05:22erosion. In Jacques au Pango, as in the other districts of Dirry,
00:05:26the challenge is now to make sanitation a long-term
00:05:30effort. By extending the operations of the first Saturday of
00:05:33the month, the Administrator Mayor Pierre-Émé Carol
00:05:36Akonzongo intends to maintain this dynamic
00:05:40and gradually extend it to the entire arrondissement, an
00:05:44objective whose scope will depend on the regularity
00:05:47of interventions, but also on the involvement of the
00:05:51populations in preserving their living environment.
00:05:54And to finish, speaking of the
00:05:58life and works of Mother Ange, whose real name is Angélique Miale
00:06:02Bama, who passed away on Thursday, September 24 in Brazzaville at the age of
00:06:0696. Her journey and social life allowed a
00:06:09bus stop to bear her name. This bus stop is located
00:06:13in Moukondo in the 4th arrondissement. We will talk about it with Patience
00:06:16Wadiapantou,
00:06:20remember that she passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at
00:06:26wisdom and longevity, Mother Ange
00:06:29was a Congolese pioneer who embarked on youth
00:06:33entrepreneurship from a young age, her real name Angélique
00:06:36Mialebama, Mother Ange in the 60s, years of
00:06:40independence in black Africa,
00:06:42took charge to stand out in the world of business and
00:06:46affairs to emancipate herself in the informal sector by starting to
00:06:49regularly frequent the city of Kinshasa in Democratic Congo as
00:06:53a female trader in the fields of textiles and
00:06:56cosmetic products, however
00:06:59excellence, in this same bravery, Mother Ange
00:07:03abandoned her commercial activities in Kinshasa to change
00:07:08Africa where she was one of the first Congolese women who went in the
00:07:1270s to Lomé in Togo and Lagos in Nigeria to
00:07:15engage this time in a high-end trade with a high dimension
00:07:21the Congolese national economy. In
00:07:231975, this businesswoman left Mungali to
00:07:27settle permanently in Mukondo, Foueri street
00:07:30number 42, went elsewhere to better reflect, a matter of evolving in another
00:07:34field, which gave her the idea in 1976 to set up a
00:07:37bar named Gandachere Ange to pay tribute
00:07:41to her and immortalize her works, the neighborhood chiefs of Mukondo, the same year
00:07:45had proceeded to the creation of this bus stop named
00:07:48Mother Ange stop located between the Jacopango roundabout and the
00:07:52Mokondo market on avenue des cités du 17 in the 4th arrondissement
00:07:56Mungali in Brazzaville. The most popular bus stop in this
00:08:01the Evangelical Church of Congo parish of Moukondo. Rarely
00:08:05arrived in Mazala, they passed to the R1 and in any case
00:08:08mom was dead, everyone thought and said that mom had been dead
00:08:11for a very long time. and mom was still alive for us who are in Mongo
00:08:14we also went from time to time to her house to
00:08:18visit her but in any case we are very
00:08:21sad, Angélique is gone, the stop will remain that day because
00:08:25that stop is a reference truly, Angélique Miale
00:08:28Ba, known as Mother Ange was born around 1930 in
00:08:32Mbaka street in Potopoto in Brazzaville a year before
00:08:36independence so in 1959
00:08:38Miss Angélique Mama was elected Miss Braza in
00:08:42the same dance floor with the capital's orchestra
00:08:46created in Brazzaville on the 15th of 1959 during
00:08:49the festive events organized for the occasion in the 60s and
00:08:5270s, Mother Ange spent moments of digression with
00:08:56President Youlou, Alphonse Massomba Deba and
00:09:00Marien Ngouabi, Mother Ange, she
00:09:02has been a trader since childhood, then she
00:09:05had the idea in Lomé, the first women of Lomé,
00:09:09she is among the first women of Lomé when she... the
00:09:12bars, there was a power problem, she
00:09:15negotiated, she was the very first person who managed to
00:09:19connect electricity to her condo. In Africa,
00:09:22dying at the age of 90 is a blessing from the
00:09:25Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ divine mercy. The
00:09:29welfare state no longer exists, young girls today could and should also
00:09:33be interested in the informal sector to succeed by drawing inspiration from the model
00:09:37of Mother Ange, because she was determined from a young age to
00:09:40undertake in various sectors
00:09:42of activity, this concludes
00:09:45this news report, thank you for your
00:09:49attention, I will see you tomorrow at the same time, have a good
00:09:52program on the national channel, until then,
00:09:56take care, goodbye.

00:15:35dear compatriots, the international community
00:15:39celebrates this October 13, 2026, the international
00:15:42day for disaster risk reduction. This
00:15:46edition is placed under a theme that concerns us
00:15:49all deeply, resilience
00:15:53begins at home. By
00:15:56the United Nations General Assembly, this day
00:15:59constitutes a privileged moment of
00:16:02collective mobilization, it calls on states, local
00:16:06activities,
00:16:09and every citizen to become
00:16:13crucial importance of prevention,
00:16:17preparedness, and proactive management of
00:16:21risks in the face of environmental and climatic
00:16:24crises. This year's theme is in line
00:16:28with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction
00:16:312015-2030, whose overall ambition remains the
00:16:35substantial reduction.
00:16:37of human, economic,
00:16:40social, cultural, and environmental
00:16:44losses. It also echoes the
00:16:47Sustainable Development Goals, notably
00:16:50SDG11 on the emergence of inclusive
00:16:53cities and human settlements,
00:16:57safe, resilient, and
00:17:00sustainable. Resilience begins at
00:17:04home, is a message of apparent simplicity,
00:17:08but of immense strategic importance. The
00:17:11family home constitutes, par excellence, the first
00:17:15protective shield for our communities, it is in
00:17:19the intimacy of our homes that the first
00:17:23reflexes of vigilance, prevention, and safety measures
00:17:26must be acquired and transmitted from the
00:17:30youngest age.
00:17:32every parent, every young person has
00:17:35the power and the duty to become a key
00:17:39actor in the security of their community by
00:17:42adopting responsible behaviors, by knowing
00:17:46the risks to which they are exposed and by
00:17:50facing them, but resilience cannot be
00:17:54reduced to individual behavior alone,
00:17:58when dwellings are located in high-risk
00:18:01areas built without respecting safety
00:18:04standards or insufficiently
00:18:07maintained with regard to the evolution of risks, they can
00:18:11increase the vulnerability of
00:18:13populations, the consequences are particularly
00:18:17severe for women,
00:18:20young people, the elderly,
00:18:23people with disabilities and the
00:18:26most modest households whose capacity to anticipate
00:18:30risks, to protect themselves, to recover
00:18:33after a disaster often remains limited.
00:18:38Ladies and gentlemen, dear compatriots, our
00:18:41country, like many nations, is facing risks whose
00:18:45effects are now exacerbated by climate
00:18:48change. In the Republic of Congo, this reality is
00:18:51illustrated by data from our recent national
00:18:55assessments, notably the climate landscape analysis for
00:18:59children, carried out with UNICEF, more
00:19:02than 525,000 of our fellow citizens have
00:19:06been directly affected. The major floods of
00:19:092023, 2024, which severely
00:19:12affected several departments of the country, notably
00:19:16Likuala, Cuvette, Kouilou and
00:19:19Niari, as well as the riverside areas of the Congo or
00:19:22Bangui. Nearly 44,000 students have
00:19:26seen their schooling interrupted or severely
00:19:31destruction or submersion of their
00:19:34school establishments. 36% of our
00:19:38population is exposed to increased food insecurity due to variations in
00:19:42rainfall likely to lead to a
00:19:45decrease in agricultural yields of 5 to
00:19:4915% by 2050. In
00:19:52a country where nearly one in two inhabitants is under
00:19:5618, these recurrent climatic shocks,
00:19:59whether floods,
00:20:01ravine erosions
00:20:04in Brazzaville and Point
00:20:07Noire or landslides, severely test
00:20:11the security of our homes and our socio-economic
00:20:15infrastructures. To these phenomena is added the degradation of
00:20:19ecosystems, notably mangroves and wetlands,
00:20:22as well as certain human practices such as
00:20:26uncontrolled urbanization, the occupation of areas exposed
00:20:29to risk, the impermeabilization of
00:20:31soils and deforestation,
00:20:34however our ecosystems play an
00:20:38essential role, the natural protection of our territory
00:20:41against floods and coastal or
00:20:44river erosion. Investing in prevention
00:20:48today is therefore saving lives
00:20:51tomorrow, preserving the achievements of
00:20:54development and reducing the human,
00:20:57economic and environmental costs of
00:21:00disasters. Dear viewers,
00:21:04under the very high impetus of His
00:21:07Excellency Mr. Denis Sassou Nguesso, President of the
00:21:12the Climate Commission of the Congo Basin, the government
00:21:15continues to strengthen the national policy for disaster risk
00:21:19reduction in coherence with the international
00:21:22and regional commitments of our country. This ambition is
00:21:26reflected notably by the elaboration and strengthening
00:21:29of strategic instruments as well as by the development of
00:21:32innovative mechanisms for information and communication
00:21:36alerts, among which the national strategy
00:21:39for disaster risk prevention and reduction
00:21:42and its action plan completed since
00:21:462026.
00:21:48The radio television of the Congo, which
00:21:51will be called upon to contribute to the dissemination of environmental
00:21:55information, to the sensitization of
00:21:57the population and to the prevention of disasters, the internet
00:22:02Environment, Congo Basin and Sustainable Development
00:22:06equipped with a system for reporting pollution and
00:22:10natural disasters, and finally the nationally
00:22:14determined contribution in its 3rd
00:22:17version and national measures adapted to
00:22:21climate change that contribute to strengthening the
00:22:24resilience of our populations and our
00:22:26territories, all these
00:22:29initiatives reflect the government's commitment to make
00:22:33prevention a national priority and
00:22:35to integrate risk reduction into public
00:22:38policies, economic, social, and
00:22:41environmental development programs, as well as into actions
00:22:44carried out at the scale of our 15 departments. The
00:22:48realization of this ambition requires coordinated
00:22:52and sustainable action around several
00:22:56priorities that I will remind you of: the
00:22:59strengthening of surveillance and early warning
00:23:03systems to enable rapid
00:23:06detection of threats, better protection of
00:23:09populations, improved knowledge of risks and
00:23:13their mapping to effectively guide
00:23:16public decisions and investments,
00:23:20and education for awareness and a
00:23:23true culture of prevention to
00:23:26strengthen the capacity to anticipate risks and
00:23:30adopt appropriate behaviors, the strengthening of national
00:23:33and local capacities for preparedness,
00:23:36disaster response and recovery, the systematic
00:23:39integration of risk reduction into land
00:23:43use planning, urban planning, and
00:23:46development policies.
00:23:50local, the promotion of construction and housing adapted to
00:23:54the risks to which our territories are exposed in
00:23:57compliance with safety standards, as
00:24:00well as the protection and restoration of
00:24:03ecosystems that contribute to risk reduction and the
00:24:07resilience of our communities.
00:24:11The challenge is clear, to move
00:24:14from an essentially reactive
00:24:17logic to a more anticipatory
00:24:21approach. preventive and
00:24:25resilient, this presupposes
00:24:28the mobilization of all stakeholders concerned,
00:24:31public authorities, local communities, technical
00:24:35and financial partners, private sector,
00:24:38civil society and population
00:24:42in order to sustainably reduce vulnerabilities
00:24:44and preserve human
00:24:47lives and property and to... consolidate the foundations
00:24:51of sustainable and resilient
00:24:54development in the Republic of Congo. Dear
00:24:57compatriots, resilience effectively
00:25:00begins at home. In periods of
00:25:03heavy rain or flooding, each
00:25:06household must be able to adopt the right reflexes, follow the instructions
00:25:09of the competent authorities and warning
00:25:12messages, secure electrical installations
00:25:15and gas bottles, when
00:25:19they threaten.
00:25:21and essential goods and imperatively
00:25:24avoid crossing flooded areas on foot
00:25:28or by vehicle. particular attention must
00:25:31be paid to children, the
00:25:35elderly, pregnant women and people living with a
00:25:38disability. Ladies and gentlemen, dear
00:25:41compatriots, the International Day for Disaster
00:25:45Risk Reduction should not be a simple
00:25:49slogan. a simple day of
00:25:51commemoration, it must be a moment of awareness,
00:25:55mobilization and commitment.
00:25:57We must now incorporate prevention
00:26:00into our. decisions, our
00:26:04behaviors and our development policies,
00:26:08I repeat, we must now incorporate prevention
00:26:11into our decisions, our
00:26:15behaviors and our development policies.
00:26:18We must
00:26:20rather than reaction,
00:26:23prevention
00:26:26urgency and collective and shared
00:26:29responsibility
00:26:32indifference, on this day, I pay
00:26:36tribute to all actors who work daily
00:26:40in prevention and disaster management, civil protection
00:26:43services, territorial communities,
00:26:46civil society organizations, technical
00:26:49and financial partners, researchers
00:26:52and teachers
00:26:54and citizens, for its part and
00:26:58under the very high impetus of his
00:27:01Excellency.
00:27:06President of the Congo Basin Climate
00:27:08Commission, the government under
00:27:11the coordination of the government, Prime Minister Anatol
00:27:15Koli Macosso reaffirms its
00:27:17determination to continue efforts to
00:27:21strengthen the resilience of our country, protect
00:27:25populations, preserve our environment and
00:27:28sustainably consolidate the achievements of our
00:27:31development. Resilience begins at home,
00:27:34but it is built
00:27:37together, long live the International Day for
00:27:40Disaster Risk Reduction,
00:27:42long live the green, sustainable
00:27:46and responsible Congo, thank you.
