00:00:00also poses a threat to Turkey. sites belonging to status quo of holy Muslims in Jerusalem. With this
00:00:03understanding, we will deepen our cooperation
00:00:06and coordination in the fields of counter-terrorism,
00:00:09defense, and security.
00:00:12The completion of the ongoing integration process in
00:00:15Syria without interruption
00:00:19remains important and a priority
00:00:21for our country. The integration of all
00:00:24armed elements and so-called structures under a central and
00:00:28legitimate national structure is vital for Syria's
00:00:32unity and the stability of our region.
00:00:35Dear members of the press, we are also developing our economic relations
00:00:39with Syria in line with the needs of the new era.
00:00:43In order to increase our bilateral trade volume,
00:00:46facilitating customs procedures,
00:00:49increasing the capacity of border gates,
00:00:52initiating banking channels, and
00:00:55harmonizing our transportation infrastructures
00:00:58are among our priorities. Our
00:01:02teams are working on these. Our
00:01:04public institutions and our private sector are also working
00:01:08to contribute to the reconstruction of Syria, the development of its energy
00:01:11infrastructure, and the rehabilitation of its
00:01:15transportation system. We also believe that
00:01:18regional projects will play an important role in this regard.
00:01:21If we need to give a concrete example in this context, the
00:01:25road and railway connectivity initiative
00:01:29we launched between Turkey, Syria, Jordan, and
00:01:32Saudi Arabia is also extremely important in this
00:01:36regard. We have started working to implement this
00:01:40strategic initiative as soon as possible, and we will
00:01:43continue as a result of the decision
00:01:46made by our leaders. Dear friends,
00:01:49a large number of concrete projects are progressing rapidly
00:01:53in our bilateral relations. They have completed the permit
00:01:57processes for the opening of a Turkish school in Damascus.
00:02:00We thank them for this. We aim for this school to be ready
00:02:04for the new academic year. The work for the establishment
00:02:07of the Turkey-Syria Joint University has also accelerated. The health
00:02:11sector is one of the areas where we are
00:02:15working most intensively with Syria. In addition to many hospital projects,
00:02:19we are working to build Syria's health infrastructure.
00:02:22As you know, the memorandum of understanding in this area was signed
00:02:26during our Minister of Health's visit to Syria in June.
00:02:30We are also trying to contribute to Syria's
00:02:32integration into the global financial system.
00:02:36Allowing the Central Bank of Syria to open
00:02:39a Turkish Lira account with our Central Bank
00:02:42constitutes a very important step in this regard. In the
00:02:46coming period, we will implement new
00:02:48projects in line with the goal of further advancing
00:02:52Turkey-Syria relations. In our meeting today,
00:02:56we also had the opportunity to discuss regional
00:02:59issues. We are naturally pleased with the
00:03:02statements regarding the possibility of returning to
00:03:05negotiations between the US and Iran. We hope
00:03:08that the ceasefire will be re-established as soon
00:03:12as possible and that the Strait of Hormuz will be opened.
00:03:15We will continue our contributions in this regard.
00:03:18At this point, we continue to support the negotiations.
00:03:22On this occasion, we would like to underline one point.
00:03:25Syria has emerged as a country that contributed
00:03:28to the preservation of stability in our
00:03:31region throughout the war. Therefore,
00:03:35protecting Syria's security and peace is the
00:03:38common responsibility of all of us as regional
00:03:42countries. On the other hand, Israel's attacks targeting
00:03:45Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity
00:03:48are among the most serious
00:03:51threats to the country's stability. The international
00:03:54community should react more strongly against Israel's
00:03:58occupying mentality. It should apply the necessary
00:04:01pressure for compliance with the 1970
00:04:05Disengagement of Forces Agreement and
00:04:08respect for
00:04:09Syria's sovereignty.
00:04:13Dear friends, we also extensively discussed
00:04:16the situation in Palestine and Lebanon with my
00:04:19esteemed colleague. As you know, Lebanon is
00:04:23their border neighbor, and everything that happens there concerns them
00:04:27closely, and it concerns
00:04:30us as well. The agreement on the
00:04:33roadmap was announced by US President Trump.
00:04:37Despite this, Israel's continued
00:04:39attacks once again showed that
00:04:43Netanyahu does not want peace. The Israeli government
00:04:47aims to sabotage peace efforts and separate
00:04:51Palestinians from Gaza. This goal has not changed.
00:04:55If possible, they are trying to turn Gaza into
00:04:58a place without Palestinians, a place where they cannot live.
00:05:02However, Netanyahu will not succeed in this
00:05:05policy. Gazans will continue to live in
00:05:09Gaza and build their future.
00:05:12Indeed, there are brave Palestinians
00:05:16who protect their homelands against the occupying Israel,
00:05:20and an international community that is increasingly
00:05:24aware of the facts. At this point, there is no option other than making
00:05:28the ceasefire permanent in Gaza, moving to the
00:05:31second phase of the peace
00:05:33plan, and starting the reconstruction process.
00:05:37On the other hand, we see that the Netanyahu government is intensifying
00:05:40its terrorist acts in the West Bank
00:05:44and Jerusalem. As you know, we held
00:05:47an important meeting yesterday. Here, with the participation
00:05:50of nearly 20 countries from the Islamic
00:05:53world, we discussed the collective measures
00:05:57that can be taken against Israel's aggressive
00:06:00actions targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque. At the same
00:06:03time, we discussed measures against the violation of the historical
