00:46:59with this art. I transfer the
00:47:01drawings I create
00:47:04in my mind to paper, then
00:47:07I cut MDF or wood according
00:47:11to the measurements that come to
00:47:14my mind. There are several techniques in mosaic,
00:47:17I generally work this way, we
00:47:20can also work on mesh.
00:47:23First, I decide whether I will
00:47:27work with stone or glass and
00:47:30determine their colors. I transfer the
00:47:55MDF I cut according to the
00:47:58measurements, or I paste a
00:48:01photocopy. Since it is antique,
00:48:05I cut and place the glass
00:48:08and stones one by one to create a whole.
00:48:12But if even one stone is
00:48:15missing, the meaning of that work can change, so
00:48:19mosaic does not like haste.
00:48:41Mosaic is made with natural stones, primarily
00:48:45marble, slate,
00:48:48and travertine. All of them
00:48:52are in their original colors.
00:48:56Among the materials I work with,
00:49:00there are also recyclable materials. For me,
00:49:04no piece is worthless. My aim
00:49:07is to create mosaics in harmony
00:49:10with nature, preserving the
00:49:13environment. I have
00:49:16antique works. These are called
00:49:20replicas. For example, the mosaic
00:49:24of the Gypsy Girl is the most powerful symbol
00:49:28of mosaic art for
00:49:56me. With her gaze that follows
00:49:59you, she stops the viewer. Creating
00:50:02such a powerful effect with tiny
00:50:06stones already shows the magic of mosaic
00:50:26art. Capturing that gaze, which is
00:50:29called a three-quarter gaze in art,
00:50:32and also in Mona Lisa,
00:50:35really excites me every time. If
00:50:39I miss even one stone,
00:50:42I cannot capture that gaze that
00:50:46follows you. I work 4-5
00:50:49hours intermittently during the day.
00:51:27The most challenging or exciting thing
00:51:30for me, let's say, is Atatürk's eyes. When I
00:51:34do them, I am truly excited
00:51:37and I put a lot of
00:51:40effort into them. As I said,
00:51:43capturing the gaze is very important

00:51:52because nature is an endless treasure
