00:00:19of airport in Riyadh just today after a missile strike at the same
00:00:22location killed 12 people and injured hundreds of
00:00:26others.
00:00:27of Hello and welcome to TRT World Live from Istanbul. Jafar hassan
00:00:31of also coming up. Israel
00:00:35expands its so-called yellow line in Gaza forcing dozens of Palestinian families to
00:00:39of flee in the middle
00:00:40of the night. Donald Trump says
00:00:44Russia and Ukraine have agreed to halt a strikes on each other's
00:00:47of of energy infrastructure. Volodimir Zellenski says it is news for
00:00:51him. The Polish interior minister says the man
00:00:54who threatened and planned to attack prime minister Donald Tusk has been
00:00:58arrested.
00:01:17We start this hour in Saudi Arabia where authorities say air defenses have intercepted
00:01:21another projectile near Riyadh's main airport. The attack comes less than
00:01:25day after a missile strike at the same location killed 12 people
00:01:29and injured. more than 300. Hutis are warning airlines
00:01:33of and travelers to stay
00:01:34of away from Saudi airports. begins our
00:01:37coverage. Saudi Arabia has
00:01:41been hit hard, deep inside its territory, there
00:01:45was panic inside the domestic terminals of King Khalid
00:01:49International Airport in Riyadh after it was truck
00:01:52by a missile on
00:01:54of Saturday afternoon. The Saudi led
00:01:56in military coalition describes what happened as a war crime.

00:02:30on Riad's main airport on Thursday, killing three people
00:02:34and damaging an aircraft, but they haven't
00:02:37in claimed responsibility for Saturday's strike. Hours
00:02:41before, the Huties had said they were prepared
00:02:44to take reciprocal steps with
00:02:46in Saudi Arabia to keep airports, seaports and other
00:02:50civilian facilities used for humanitarian
00:02:53purposes out
00:02:54of the
00:02:55of expanding confrontation. The question now is whether
00:02:59or not the... will respond to Saudi calls to join
00:03:02in, i think it's terrible,
00:03:06well you're going to find out, see, but i think it's
00:03:09terrible, are the saudis able to defend
00:03:12themselves? well, they're able to defend, look, the saudis are good
00:03:16fighters, but i think the attack was terrible thing.
00:03:20the huties have already
00:03:22in put pressure on Saudi Arabia through their control
00:03:24of the Babel Mandab straight, through which much of
00:03:28Saudi Arabia is... exports are
00:03:31shipped, but in the past week, the Yemani
00:03:35government forces, backed by Saudi Arabia have
00:03:39made some progress in pushing back the Hi
00:03:42advance. They claimed on Saturday
00:03:45of to have killed more than 1,400 huti
00:03:48fighters in 24 hours. The next
00:03:52move could determine not only the state
00:03:55of of this conflict, but whether the region
00:03:58again becomes.
00:04:06in and of now for the latest let's bring in
00:04:09of muhammad, he joins me live from the yemini
00:04:11of capital sana, so muhammad bring us up to speed on the latest
00:04:14please,
00:04:20yes according to the military spokes person, he has
00:04:23of just met this recent and
00:04:26fresh pressure, he mentioned that they have.
00:04:31uh more than
00:04:33of 124 air rais have been carried out on different areas
00:04:36of and under their control. also he has
00:04:39of mentioned that they have attacked in three
00:04:42phases this evening
00:04:45of uh the uh the aviation at the airport of king Khalid uh
00:04:49he mentioned that the this is the second operation for them or
00:04:53attack it is also
00:04:55targeted gas
00:04:58station uh for she mentioned
00:05:01shagdaman that belongs to the aramco company and also the mentioned the
00:05:05third operation according to his words that
00:05:09targeted laboratory that belongs to arm. uh,
00:05:13which is an oil facility in the eastern
00:05:16eastern region of Saudi Arabia, he says that the most
00:05:20these attacks have been precise and also they have
00:05:23reached uh their targets uh according to his and also he
00:05:27also reiterated his warnings to
00:05:30the aviation flight companies not to go
00:05:34towards Saudi Arabia accept for the the
00:05:38allowed for the aviation to to carry
00:05:41on in, Makkah and Madina, he mentioned that
00:05:44they cautiously
00:05:48wanted workers and also employees not to go to to Saudi
00:05:52Arabia, he is mentioning also, we are in
00:05:56latest pressure that they have also carried
00:05:59out attacks inside the country on
00:06:02mobilizations that that were coming from Edin, Lahj,
00:06:06and the has mentioned that they have inflected heavy losses on
00:06:09these. forcements we
00:06:13are talking about the internationally recognized government forces the which
00:06:17they have mentioned also inflicting heavy losses on the houthies
00:06:21they have mentioned that in this in their recent press that
00:06:25they have inflicted losses on them they are
00:06:29talking about more than 1150
00:06:33hoti fighters also they have targeted what they mentioned
00:06:36180 vehicles
00:06:40during which they have carried out more than 1,900
00:06:44air strikes, so far we are witnessing this kind of escalations,
00:06:48both sides are still adamant to to not
00:06:51abandon the the most important strategic sea straight of babel
00:06:55mandab, also the according to
00:06:59the hood ran health ministry, they
00:07:03mentioned that the one one child was killed and six
00:07:07others were injured an attack a residential area in chaob at
00:07:11the hot at the... downtown the capital
00:07:14Sana, also other other air strikes have been carried out
00:07:18on areas in to attack the telecommunication towers
00:07:22in near ep so far these the
00:07:26recent developments, that's
00:07:29Muhammad life for us from the Yemini Capitals, Mohammed, thank you very much indeed,
00:07:33and we also understand that the hoodis have claim responsibility for the attack
00:07:37that took place on the Saudi airport in Riyadh and now let's continue
00:07:41with the news bulletin Turkey is foreign minister has strongly condemned
00:07:45Saturdays with the attack on King Khalid International Airport in
00:07:48Riyadh a statement it says these attacks
00:07:52which deliberately target civilian infrastructure and innocent civilians
00:07:55constitute a clear violation of international law and the
00:07:59principles of international humanitarian law. We
00:08:02emphasized that such actions which pose a threat to regional security and
00:08:06stability and undermine the international community collective efforts to
00:08:10establish peace must. sees
00:08:13immediately. As Turkey, we reaffir our support
00:08:17for Saudi Arabia sovereignty and territorial
00:08:19integrity.
00:08:27The Israeli military is expanding its so-called yellow line in the
00:08:31east of Gaza City. Israeli forces opened heavy fire and launched
00:08:35artillery shelling in Shujaya, injuring two Palestinians including
00:08:38a pregnant woman. Dozens of Palestinian families were forced. to
00:08:42flee once again in search of safety, following advances
00:08:46by Israeli military. locals there describe it as
00:08:50night of terror filled with heavy Israeli gunfire and
00:08:53explosions. the United Nations said nearly two-thirds
00:08:57the enclave is inaccessible to Palestinians or subject to
00:09:01severe restrictions. meanwhile, residents of
00:09:05Gaza's al Zawaida have inspected the aftermath of an Israeli
00:09:09air strike. the residents there say they were. in five minutes to
00:09:13evacuate before bombs were dropped on the house on Saturday,
00:09:17Israel has stepped up his strikes against Palestinians in Gaza undermining
00:09:21a US broker cease fire agreed one year
00:09:24ago. And for the latest now let's bring in TRT Worlds
00:09:28Mohammed Ashraf Chan and he joins me live from Gaza City. So, Ashraf,
00:09:32Israel as already I occupies
00:09:33understand, roughly 64% the
00:09:37Gaza strip. It seems it's expanding its illegal
00:09:40control now. So, what? is the end game based on your
00:09:44understanding what exactly is Israel trying to do here,
00:09:47because most the people are concentrated in the eastern
00:09:51part the gaza strip and Israeli occupation is
00:09:55on the west, so now is it trying to move
00:09:57eastward?
00:10:05well, jafar currently Israel controls more than
00:10:0870% in reality, because we are here,
00:10:12we see... 64% that
00:10:14was uh maybe two months ago according to to
00:10:18international agencies working in Gaza but almost every hour
00:10:22every day far Israeli forces creeping further
00:10:26west uh right now more than 2
00:10:30million people in Gaza are living in less than 30% of of of
00:10:34Gaza's territory. Gaza used to be
00:10:36360 square kilometers approximately and
00:10:40now people are living within about 100 kilometers and even the 100
00:10:44kilometers are not safe because you have daily air strikes
00:10:48uh tank fire, sniper fire even random fire by
00:10:52machine guns. They they just open the fire. anything that
00:10:56moves, they open the fires, they they they move their
00:11:00machine guns to the western part of Gaza, so the
00:11:03majority the territory that Israeli forces are pointing their
00:11:07forces at is towards the west, towards the Mediterranean, while in some
00:11:11areas like blahya and northern Gaza, they point their guns
00:11:15towards the south, and in the south they point to towards the
00:11:19north, and it's not only that Jafar, even in
00:11:23the in the Mediterranean. gun boats fire on people on
00:11:27the coastal area where thousands of tents are located,
00:11:31tens of thousands of not hundreds of hundreds of thousands of
00:11:34children, women, elderly people are living in
00:11:37those tents, so far today, at least six
00:11:41people were injured, including a pregnant woman jafar in her second
00:11:45trimester, and doctors say it's they're
00:11:49not sure if they're able even to save the mother or
00:11:53or or her uh uh perfetus now uh already
00:11:57since the start the seasfire back in October 2025 and
00:12:01already now we already passed one year since this so-called cease
00:12:04fire close to 1500 people have lost their lives more than
00:12:08500 others injured while earlier this morning for
00:12:12example shijiya in eastern gaza city less than three
00:12:15kilometers from where I'm standing if you go east about three
00:12:19k three kilometers three and
00:12:21a half kilometers I'll be I'll be faced with a Israeli tank or
00:12:25machine gun in front of me, of course nobody, nobody even
00:12:29dares to get close to that area where Israely soldiers are
00:12:32located, few hundred
00:12:34meters to uh the west the
00:12:38so-called to this to the east the so-called yellow line, they keep opening
00:12:41their heavy machine guns and artillery and tank
00:12:45fire towards the western parts of
00:12:49that area, so this morning people were sleeping, although
00:12:53they're not sleeping safely within uh partially
00:12:56standing buildings uh uh
00:12:59damaged by Israel's war and inside makeshift
00:13:03tents and they woke up this morning finding the yellow
00:13:07blocks moved past them and this means you're
00:13:11a kill zone so people panic dozens of families
00:13:15just just run away with whatever they can and sometimes some people
00:13:18i i've seen people who who left with nothing because they
00:13:22know life is more important than and belongings
00:13:25ja
00:13:29far right, ashraf, and I understand the winter is only few months
00:13:33away, so how can Palestinians if at all prepare for
00:13:37the harsh conditions
00:13:38there?
00:13:44well, every coming, every every everything is coming against the Palestinians in
00:13:48Gaza, the weather, the some people say it's the
00:13:52international conspiracy of silence when it comes to... palestinians and
00:13:56now the international organization of migration
00:13:59(iUM) says Israel is not allowing tens of thousands of
00:14:03tens and shelter shelter supplies to enter gaza,
00:14:05especially that elnino is
00:14:08approaching and its effects could
00:14:12could, most likely will affect the people of Gaza, and we have more
00:14:16in the following
00:14:17package.
00:14:22Amil harazin is a word man with what... be very harsh winter
00:14:26around the corner, he's deeply concerned for his
00:14:30family who live a tent. i'm trying to secure
00:14:34my tent. i have newborn baby who is less than a week old and three
00:14:38young children. last year we suffered badly when a storm hit,
00:14:42so i need to be prepared this time. this year the
00:14:45conditions could be much worse for the people in Gaza, already
00:14:49suffering due to Israel's devastating war on the strip
00:14:53for families living and... ragal shelters, even basic
00:14:56preparations may not be enough, or damaged homes and
00:15:00obliterated infrastructure leave many displacement sites
00:15:04vulnerable to flooding as well as
00:15:06collapse, we heard that very
00:15:10powerful storm may be coming our way, it could destroy homes, let
00:15:14alone tents, we put our trust in god, my tent is
00:15:18so fragile that even a light storm could destroy it,
00:15:22imagine what this storm could do, this storm he is
00:15:25referring to is the elninu weather phenomena.
00:15:29scientists are warning about its catastrophic effects which could
00:15:33settle firmly by december. and in Gaza,
00:15:37it's percussions could make life even worse, according to the
00:15:41international organization for migration, IOM, around
00:15:451.8 million people are living in displacement sites
00:15:48across the wartorn territory, more than 80%
00:15:52the tents and makeshift shelters are in poor
00:15:56condition, while only 17% of winter shelter
00:15:59needs have been met. We're dreading
00:16:03the winter as well as the storm, the rain could flood our tents,
00:16:07leaking. in from above and sweeping in from
00:16:10below, we have almost nothing to protect ourselves with. we
00:16:14lie awake at night, worried about the rain and the strong
00:16:17winds, there is no end to the suffering. with
00:16:21little protection from the rain, families fear the destruction the
00:16:25shelters and the exposure to the cold. as
00:16:29palestinians prepare to face another harsh winter, the brace themselves for the
00:16:33worst, a mid Israel's refusal to allow adequate shelter
00:16:36material. Ashraf Shanan, TRT
00:16:39World, Gaza. In the occupied West Bank, illegal Israeli
00:16:43settlers attacked Palestinians trying to harvest olives on their land east
00:16:47of Ramala. Residents from several villages had gathered
00:16:50together hoping there would be safety numbers. Mohammad has more on
00:16:54this from the occupied west bank.
00:16:58Any abroed village west of Ramala, Palestinians
00:17:02came to pick up their olives from a land they used to pick up
00:17:06the olives from since. decades, but this year it's different as
00:17:10illegal settlers established a new outpost at the top of that
00:17:13mountain. today the residents decided to go to their land and
00:17:17to pick up their olives in groups so they can guarantee their
00:17:21protection as illegal settlers are attacking the Palestinians frequently in
00:17:25different areas in the occupied West Bank, but they were also attacked
00:17:29by the illegal settlers and of course backed by Israeli
00:17:32forces. Palestinians are losing their land, the
00:17:36settle establish is... outpost about seven months ago, taking control
00:17:40the entire hill. This is their father's and grandfathers
00:17:44lands. They planted these trees and worked hard to cultivate the
00:17:47land. During the olive harvest, the settlers not only steal
00:17:51their olives, but also take over their land, preventing
00:17:55Palestinians from assessing their own property. Illegal settlers have
00:17:59seized the head the local cancer's vehicle and prevented residents from reaching the
00:18:03land. What is happening here is a part of a wider pattern across the occupied
00:18:06west bank. where Palestinians land have been taken.
00:18:10Palestinians left today without picking their olive harvest, but they say they
00:18:14want to keep on trying, not just to get the amount of olive
00:18:18harvest they used to get every year, but to keep their land,
00:18:21identity and
00:18:23heritage.
00:18:34Donald Trump says Russia and Ukraine have agreed. halt strikes on each other's
00:18:38energy infrastructure. Donald Trump made the announcement on his truth social
00:18:42platform without giving further details. Earlier Donald
00:18:46Trump had said it was time for Ukraine to get new president, to
00:18:49which vodimir Zelinski replied, saying it is up to his
00:18:53people to pick new leader. He also said he is ready to
00:18:57organize elections if Russian President Vladimir Putin agrees to a
00:19:0060-day cease fire. And for the
00:19:04latest now, let's bring in TRT World's aaron Dolu Olu. He joins me. live from
00:19:08Washington, so Aaron, it seems that Donald Trump just made this
00:19:11announcement without informing President Zelinski, because Zelinsky says he has been
00:19:15taken by surprise, he has no
00:19:16idea.
00:19:22Yes, Jafar, exactly, this morning Trump made this announcement on Truth
00:19:26Social, but the two parties, not only Ukraine, Russia as
00:19:30well, have not made a comment on this announcement yet, Russia hasn't made a comment, and
00:19:34Ukraine, Zelinski has said that he's surprised, but he would well. come a
00:19:37cease fire meanwhile uh ursel of underline the
00:19:41EU came out and voiced her support for Zelinsky
00:19:45voice to support the EU for Zelinski. Clearly there's a
00:19:49row between the Ukrainian leader and President Donald
00:19:52Trump. Uh, their relationship was always rocky even once Trump got
00:19:56elected for his second term. Zelinski came to the White House and that
00:20:00meeting got very tense, and since then they've had some ups and
00:20:04downs, but of course now the big elephant in the room. is the
00:20:08new diesel deal with Russia and Russia has now
00:20:12uh committed to supply uh the United States with
00:20:16extra diesel after Trump's call with President
00:20:19Vladimir Putin so uh with that bearing that in
00:20:23mind and the elections coming and the high gas prices and the
00:20:27pressure on the Republican Party and President Donald
00:20:30Trump um the president's thinking about lot of
00:20:34different factors here including the election.
00:20:38going
00:20:39to
00:20:42is bring only oil prices up, so the president wants
00:20:46to avoid that, but what's happening today is... another
00:20:50surreal turn of events uh, what's the strategy
00:20:54here? it could be wishful thinking, right? president Trump wants a
00:20:58cease fire, but he comes out and announces a cease fire that's
00:21:01news to Ukraine's president, the same
00:21:05president that President Donald Trump called to be replaced
00:21:08yesterday, which was also very, very
00:21:12surprising and surreal turn of events, and now the EU's
00:21:16backing Ukraine's president and um... while
00:21:20president Donald Trump here in Washington is making
00:21:23announcements that the other parties haven't even commented on and that's
00:21:27the current situation here in Washington DC Jafar
00:21:30and certainly Aaron uh Donald Trump is going to face lot of backlash
00:21:34domestically because when you look at the wider political spectrum the United States,
00:21:38both Republicans and Democrats, they're not the huge fans of President Putin, they don't want the
00:21:42US to be doing business with Russia, now that President Donald Trump
00:21:46has made this announcement, I wonder what how he's going to handle the...
00:21:50domestic backlash both in the senate in the and in the house of
00:21:54representatives.
00:22:00Exactly, Jafar, this is bipartisan issue, the
00:22:03support for the Republican and Democratic parties for
00:22:07Ukraine and their stance against Russia is bipartisan
00:22:11issue, but President Trump right now sees the mid-terms coming.
00:22:14He's thinking of cutting corners, trying to keep gas prices low,
00:22:18despite that the... might lead to backlash from the Republican
00:22:22Party and the Democratic Party, but we've seen Trump
00:22:26do this before, we've seen Trump shake up
00:22:29American politics, despite facing backlash, he
00:22:33famously traveled to North Korea, for example, and he's willing to
00:22:37take uh different approaches and he
00:22:40definitely goes against to the mainstream the
00:22:44Republican Party in this sense, because uh, this
00:22:48is a big deal that... "president
00:22:50is calling for the replacement the head of Ukraine, that's
00:22:54the big news this weekend to begin with, and
00:22:58and certainly that's going to shake up things, we're going to see what's going to happen
00:23:02this week in Washington DC, there's going to be lots of backlash here, but
00:23:06President Trump is clearly focused on the diesel deal
00:23:10he's made with Russia, the elections and he wants to keep
00:23:14gas prices low, and he wants to salvage what he can,
00:23:18because analysts are suggest" that the republicans could
00:23:21lose both the senate and the house at the beginning of
00:23:25November this month when the midterm elections happen. fascinating insight,
00:23:29that's aron, life for us from Washington. Aron, thank you very much
00:23:33indeed. now the Polish interior minister says the man
00:23:36who threatened and planned to attack prime minister Donald Tusk has been
00:23:39arrested. police say they had received information about a possible
00:23:43assassination plot on Tusk and his deputy, who is also defense
00:23:47minister. senior ministers police. and security officials
00:23:51later held emergency meeting in Warsaw, no further details yet on
00:23:55the suspect's identity or the planned attack. for
00:23:59more on this, I'm joined by Spasimir
00:24:03Domaratzki, he is a political scientist at the Institute of Central
00:24:06Europe, University of Wars, so great to have you here with us on TRT
00:24:10World, what do you make of this developments? I understand that the
00:24:14suspect has been arrested now, but if you look at
00:24:18Poland, obviously, "according to the latest stats
00:24:22that I read, it doesn't have huge crime rate, it's relatively
00:24:26calm there, so what do
00:24:27you think incidents like this? tell us about what's going
00:24:30on in the country right now? well, I think we we should
00:24:34put uh
00:24:35this current situation from today in the wider
00:24:39context. I'm happy that you raised the point that Poland
00:24:42is rather safe country indeed with relatively low
00:24:46crime rates, but what is important is that over the..."
00:24:50last two days we had a whole wave of concerns
00:24:54related to um online
00:24:57organized attacks
00:25:01by teenagers with the use of
00:25:05knives, so um over the last two
00:25:09days there was a lot of tension, some schools were wondering
00:25:12whether kids should be present and numerous
00:25:16informations were being delivered um It turned
00:25:20out that these were issues rather of internal
00:25:24matter related to uh teenagers
00:25:28uh you know inventions, but what is also important is
00:25:31that the information that you have mentioned um
00:25:35was released this morning at 11
00:25:38am, there was an official statement by the
00:25:41secret services which clearly
00:25:45indicated that there was a tangible threat and what is
00:25:48most important, uh is that by this evening uh
00:25:52we already have the information that the person was being arrested
00:25:56uh it is in lower cylesia and the only thing we
00:26:00know is that this person uh is connected to
00:26:03radical organization, but we have no idea what kind
00:26:07of radical organization this is, we expect more information to
00:26:11come later on. what is also important is that it is
00:26:15a sense a whistleblowing
00:26:18success, because a person that was aware the
00:26:21plants uh informed the secret services and i think that
00:26:25ultimately it is also an
00:26:28example the
00:26:31hopeful ' you know efficiency the
00:26:35secret services in such situations, however we should not forget
00:26:39that if what we know is accurate, and this is that there
00:26:43was somebody already signaling the
00:26:45situation, then apparently the the the
00:26:49reaction was much more swift. what do you think is the
00:26:52government's plan to contain the situation, because certainly as we have
00:26:56been discussing, it's a relatively calm country, it's safe,
00:27:00but incidents like this, obviously
00:27:04have created a lot of panic you know among the public, it's making international
00:27:08news now, so based on that, what what do you think is the
00:27:11government strategy going to be moving
00:27:14forward? i think actually,
00:27:18you know, there are two two sides of this story, the first one is that we should not
00:27:22forget that uh, for the services this kind of
00:27:26information is rather common
00:27:30situation and the the the point.
00:27:33today and that was mentioned by the the speaker the
00:27:37government with the providing of public
00:27:40information on that was first and foremost because the the threat was
00:27:44apparently clear and present danger and
00:27:47secondly because the government wanted to
00:27:50avoid exactly what you have mentioned, panic and
00:27:54confusion, so this information was provided
00:27:57publicly and then we we
00:28:01have the
00:28:02the out.
00:28:02in the evening, um, in that sense, I do not expect
00:28:06any profound actions taken by the government in
00:28:09the sense of future security
00:28:13concerns related to this dimension, as I
00:28:16mentioned,
00:28:18we see
00:28:18an efficient reaction by the state authorities, the appropriate
00:28:22institutions, therefore I think that this is
00:28:26more kind of a signal for others that the
00:28:30state has the capacity to... to to
00:28:33react to such provocations quite
00:28:37swiftly, fascinating insight is pasamirsky, thanks very
00:28:41much for joining us here on TRT World, I really appreciate your taking out the
00:28:44time, thank you, a state of emergency has
