00:00:39today. I have only been in office for 8 months,
00:00:43Mr. President, and I have heard from our researchers
00:00:47that today marks the first time
00:00:50BRIN researchers have been invited to the palace
00:00:54to showcase their research and innovation results
00:00:57and simultaneously receive direct guidance from Mr. President. This opportunity
00:01:01is a great honor for us and certainly
00:01:05makes us more enthusiastic to
00:01:07innovate. Furthermore, this activity reflects Mr. President's
00:01:11strong commitment that research and innovation are important foundations in
00:01:15realizing an advanced, independent, and competitive Indonesia towards Golden Indonesia
00:01:182045. Mr. President, research and innovation
00:01:22are the locomotive of sustainable economic growth and also the foundation
00:01:26of Indonesia's competitiveness in the future. The experience of various countries
00:01:29shows that there is a positive correlation between innovation
00:01:33capacity, as indicated by the Global Innovation Index, and GDP
00:01:37per capita per year. For this reason, BRIN
00:01:40strives to contribute to national development to
00:01:42support the achievement of economic
00:01:46growth targets and Golden Indonesia 2045. We are developing
00:01:49three tracks. First, presenting innovations to
00:01:52increase the productivity and competitiveness of MSMEs. Second,
00:01:56strengthening the competitiveness

00:02:55and National Strategic Research Agenda 2026-2045 as
00:02:59a direction for the development of Indonesian science. This roadmap
00:03:02serves as a common reference so that national research is aligned with
00:03:06RPJMN and supports the implementation of Asta Cita and national
00:03:10priority work programs, and also
00:03:12What did so that Indonesia no longer operates sectorally in institutional silos,
00:03:15but becomes an integrated and mutually reinforcing national

00:03:57culture, scientific collaboration, and regeneration of science talent.
00:04:00To accelerate the downstreaming and utilization of research results
00:04:04by the business world, BRIN regularly organizes
00:04:08"Goes to Industry" events so that more BRIN technologies
00:04:12are known, adopted, and provide added value to national
00:04:15industry. In supporting evidence-based policies, in 2026,
00:04:19BRIN aims to produce 177 policy briefs
00:04:22that will serve as input for ministries, institutions, and regional governments.
00:04:26Meanwhile, with BRIN Goes to Society, we
00:04:29ensure that BRIN's research and innovation results can reach
00:04:32the wider community. Mr. President,
00:04:36there are several summaries I would like to convey regarding
00:04:39BRIN's innovations. In the field of energy, BRIN is striving
00:04:43to build capacity to reduce LPG imports
00:04:47through biofuels,
00:04:50energy from biomass and waste, renewable energy, batteries, and energy
00:04:54infrastructure. One example, which Mr. President has just
00:04:57witnessed, is the absorbed natural gas technology
00:05:01that allows domestic natural gas to be stored at approximately 30 bar, lower
00:05:04than conventional CNG, through Metal Organic
00:05:08Framework (MOF) technology, discovered by Nobel laureate 2025
00:05:11Susumu Mukita. BRIN has established a sister lab with
00:05:15the Japanese Nobel laureate. Based on initial calculations,
00:05:18this technology has the potential to save up to approximately
00:05:2226 trillion rupiah per year on the LPG
00:05:25subsidy burden. Ladies and gentlemen and Mr. President, in the field
00:05:29of aerospace, BRIN is building capabilities
00:05:32ranging from aircraft technology design, unmanned aerial vehicles,
00:05:36remote sensing satellites, to space technology. The N219 aircraft
00:05:40has now been licensed to PT Dirgantara Indonesia
00:05:44for production. In addition, the Neo 1 satellite, which
00:05:47is a BRIN production, will be launched in early
00:05:502027. This is important for independently
00:05:53generating satellite imagery data to support agriculture,
00:05:56forestry, marine affairs, disaster mitigation, and maritime
00:06:00surveillance. This development also provides mission cost efficiency
00:06:02of approximately 71.9% compared to similar
00:06:05missions. In the field of defense and security, BRIN is building
00:06:09capabilities ranging from unmanned vehicles, control
00:06:12systems, sensors, to defense and security support materials.
00:06:16One example is the PUNA Male Alap-alap fixed-wing
00:06:19unmanned aircraft for monitoring, survey, and mapping
00:06:22missions. With a flight capability of up to 6 hours
00:06:25and a range of 100 km, this platform can support more
00:06:28efficient regional surveillance. In the field of transportation,
00:06:32BRIN is developing electric vehicles, ships,
00:06:36trains, and energy transition engines. BRIN's ship designs
00:06:39have been used for customs and excise vessels and also
00:06:43for marine and fisheries ministry patrol boats. In addition,
00:06:47BRIN is also developing flex-fuel engines that can use gasoline
00:06:50or E20 to E40 ethanol blends. In the
00:06:53MBG and food sector, BRIN is building
00:06:56innovations across the entire MBG chain, from raw materials, processing

00:07:04to AI-based monitoring. One example is Food Guard,
00:07:08a device placed on lunchboxes to detect spoilage

00:07:20villages, BRIN has also built capabilities ranging from
00:07:24fishing fleets, aquaculture, to fish processing. One example

00:07:35costs by up to 70% compared to using fuel. BRIN
00:07:38also prepares aquaculture, storage, drying, and processing
00:07:41technologies so that added value does not stop at sea but
00:07:45continues until the product is ready. In the health sector, BRIN
00:07:49develops capabilities including tuberculosis and dengue vaccines, medicines, diagnostics,
00:07:52radiopharmaceuticals, medical devices, stem cells, to
00:07:55digital health and cosmetics. One example is
00:07:58a laser-based hemoglobin meter that works non-invasively,
00:08:02quickly, portably, and in real
00:08:05time.
00:08:07In the shoe industry, the footwear industry, BRIN is also
00:08:11building capabilities in two areas: one, mass
00:08:14production. We are developing school shoes made from local
00:08:17rubber with one-piece injection molding technology so that the
00:08:21upper and sole are integrated without adhesive and can be produced
00:08:24consistently. Alhamdulillah, today I am wearing
00:08:26BRIN-produced
00:08:30shoes. The price currently is still

00:08:35rupiah. For high-value production, BRIN is also developing
00:08:38smart insoles that read foot pressure distribution to support

00:08:49minerals. BRIN is building capabilities from source identification,
00:08:53extraction, separation, to purification. The processing
00:08:56unit is designed for a minimum capacity of 1,000 tons of raw
00:09:00material per year with the potential to increase added value up to
00:09:03approximately 40 times. So, what we are pursuing is not
00:09:07just mining but mastering the stages that determine its
00:09:10strategic and economic value. Then, in the nuclear
00:09:13sector, we strive to master the entire chain: uranium
00:09:17and thorium mining and purification, fuel fabrication, reactor
00:09:20technology, safety, radiation metrology, and waste
00:09:24processing. BRIN must prepare nuclear technology capabilities
00:09:27now so that when Indonesia decides to enter the era
00:09:30of nuclear power plants, we do not start entirely from scratch
00:09:33and do not just become technology buyers. In the
00:09:36field of water treatment, Mr.
00:09:39President, we have already produced Arsinomobile, which provides
00:09:43five liters of ready-to-drink water per day and has supported
00:09:47disaster management in various locations. Similarly, BRIN's
00:09:50desalination technology has also been licensed
00:09:54to industry and implemented in over 40 small island locations
00:09:57and various other places. In the field
00:10:00of housing technology, BRIN is developing roof tiles based
00:10:03on local materials, building panels, a modular
