00:27:18restored with a complex methodology, elaborated by specialists
00:27:22from the country and abroad. The process began with a series of
00:27:25magical investigations carried out by physicists, chemists and other
00:27:29experts. Our investigative colleagues are
00:27:33essential, we cannot understand certain aspects of the state of preservation of the objects, as long
00:27:37as we do not have specific analyzes for
00:27:40each support separately. The general idea of restoration is to
00:27:44understand the needs of the object, not to impose your needs
00:27:48as a restorer. The thieves who stole it from the Dutch museum
00:27:52damaged it, and now restorers will use a delicate
00:27:55method to bring it to its correct form.
00:27:58Metallography has confirmed that the metal supports
00:28:01intervention. Restoration will be done
00:28:04with personalized molds made of a
00:28:08thermoplastic material that are non-adhesive, so they
00:28:11will not affect the helmet in any way, so
00:28:15they do not stick, they are not attached mechanically to the helmet, but with
00:28:18the help of these molds the helmet will
00:28:22be attempted to be brought back to its original
00:28:25form, little by little. The National Museum of History states that
00:28:29the entire restoration process can also be followed on a special
00:28:32web page. The helmet from Coțofenești was stolen in January last year
00:28:36from a museum in the Netherlands along with three Dacian bracelets. Two
00:28:40of these and the helmet were recovered and brought to the country in
00:28:43April this year. The objects were presented to the public in
00:28:46a special ceremony and then exhibited for a few days at
00:28:50the National Museum of
00:28:51History.
