00:00:04Ciolacu left in 2024 from
00:00:31Designated Prime Minister Luca Niculescu concluded rounds of consultations with parliamentary
00:00:35parties. We do not know what type of government we will have, nor its nominal composition.
00:00:39There are three days left until the deadline for submitting the government program
00:00:43and the list of ministers expires. A six-month political
00:00:46agreement to support the government on essential issues, not just a vote for
00:00:49inauguration. This is the proposal that Luca Niculescu made to the parties
00:00:53from the former governing coalition. PSD wants a clear majority with
00:00:57PNL and UDMR and evokes the anticipated scenario.
00:01:00Liberals exclude any alliance with social democrats, as do USR
00:01:04leaders. A possible technocratic government was rejected by
00:01:07the political class. AUR pushes the early elections button. Meanwhile,
00:01:10energy prices are exploding, and there is no money
00:01:14left in the budget. Can velvet diplomacy be a solution to
00:01:17a structural crisis that Romania is going through? Luca Niculescu remains
00:01:21therefore blocked in the war between PSD and former partners in
00:01:24the government he overthrew five months ago. Externally, after President
00:01:28Trump announced an energy armistice in Ukraine,
00:01:31Russia continues to attack. According to the Financial
00:01:35Times, the United States threatens to block arms supplies
00:01:38and information exchanges to Ukraine, due to attacks
00:01:42on Russian refineries. Germany and several European states
00:01:45rejected the agreement reached by the United States and Russia regarding diesel.
00:01:54Dialogues, Bogdan Ivan, first vice-president of PSD. The show
00:01:58where we analyze the present and decipher the future.
00:02:19Good evening, Mr. Bogdan Ivan, good evening, thank you very much for the invitation, welcome
00:02:22to free dialogues, on Romanian television, we will have, I hope, a
00:02:26free discussion, devoid of official
00:02:29canons, so that Romanians can learn from you what
00:02:32is important at this moment, the vision of PSD,
00:02:36but we will also approach the main topics on
00:02:39the international agenda, because we are also, aren't we, in
00:02:42the middle of the geopolitical tsunami.
00:02:46Before we address elements related to the political crisis, since
00:02:49you are for the first time on Romanian television, on TVR 1, please introduce
00:02:53yourself very briefly, you are extremely young, a very
00:02:56rapid ascent, I would say, but, we are.
00:03:00generous, I am the president of PSD Bistrița
00:03:04Năsăud, deputy of Bistrița Năsăud and I am proud of this, and
00:03:07successively from 2023 until five months ago I held
00:03:11the portfolio of digitalization, of economy and digitalization and for 10
00:03:15months also that of energy, and at
00:03:19the moment I strongly believe that we need
00:03:22maturity which seems to have been missing in the last
00:03:25period when we talk about what people expect and I believe that it does not
00:03:29define us. a function, but what we leave behind, regardless of whether we work in
00:03:33local administration or in the Romanian government. You
00:03:36were already a minister at 35 years old, three
00:03:39times? Twice, surely
00:03:43I kept digitalization and after that also at
00:03:46the Ministry of Energy, in three successive governments, how did you manage to skip stages?
00:03:50It's not about skipping stages, I entered the political
00:03:54arena at 19 and I
00:03:57worked very hard in... this field of local administration from
00:04:0121 years old in the Bistrița Năsăud county council, after which
00:04:05I entered parliament from the Social Democratic
00:04:10argue in Bucharest, and we Party team, and I believe that two very clear lines characterize me: what
00:04:12you say, you do and beyond
00:04:15any party interest, the interest of the country.
00:04:19You also had a connection with
00:04:22the press? It is evident in a public
00:04:25position, in my capacity as
00:04:28advisor to the president. of the Bistrița Năsăud county council, I was also the spokesperson of
00:04:32the institution at 21 years old and you also have a doctorate in
00:04:35sociology and a doctorate in sociology at the University of
00:04:38Bucharest focused on public
00:04:42administration but also on public management, but at the same time I have
00:04:46studied very much the segment of sociology,
00:04:49social networks, a passion of mine which I think is very important for
00:04:53any politician to understand with
00:04:56his own head a campaign and to fight. on
00:05:00consultants, but the final decisions to have the cognitive capacity to make them
00:05:04himself when he decides
00:05:06how he presents himself for a campaign, but especially when
00:05:10he enters the Romanian government. And who how? your doctorate?
00:05:14Professor Doctor Vasile Dâncu who is originally from
00:05:17Bistrița county in Săud. What does a
00:05:21free press mean to you and to PSD?
00:05:23liberă?
00:05:26And the answer I think is very simple, that
00:05:29anyone, anytime can express their views in a way
00:05:32that
00:05:35regardless of the things they present and especially when we talk about
00:05:39journalistic investigations that reveal things that are. unpleasant by
00:05:43certain areas of economic or political
00:05:46interest, that any journalist can express themselves and
00:05:50say these things, without fear that at some point they might
00:05:53have repercussions that will affect them. A free press for
00:05:57you means a press where
00:06:00you also transmit the messages you want to hear or
00:06:04PSD, we will also discuss the dynamics
00:06:07of PSD, does it also go in the direction of
00:06:11messages. quantified,
00:06:14delivered, to target stations, how do
00:06:18you see this differentiation? I
00:06:21can't, it's not very clear to me where you want to
00:06:25emphasize, what I can say to be even
00:06:28clearer, do you pay for information to
00:06:32publications, to TV stations favorable to PSD? No, I
00:06:35think so or freely with information and messages,
00:06:39I go to all the shows I'm invited to. whether
00:06:42we're talking about media trusts that,
00:06:4690% of the articles are negative towards me or
00:06:50the social party, so you have this courage, but I have no problem doing
00:06:53this, because that means democracy, and any politician is validated by
00:06:56the ability to answer questions that are
00:06:58uncomfortable,
00:07:02and at the moment I can't, I answer the discussion
00:07:05Ștefănescu, I answer for what I do,
00:07:09I don't believe, I don't believe that I have colleagues who at the moment, for example, the president
00:07:12of the party I saw him at all the important media
00:07:15trusts when his agenda allowed it, I hope he will also come to Romanian television, I have sent
00:07:19him an invitation, I do not make the agenda of the president, but I am
00:07:23convinced that he will participate as he does every time and as he answers every
00:07:27question in the press conference, what really matters from my point of view is that we are
00:07:30in a period where the level of hatred that
00:07:34often appears on social media and disinformation
00:07:37is huge from my point of view, these things are part of a hybrid
00:07:41war that does. a lot of harm to Romania if we
00:07:45look at the hordes of bots, trolls and fake
00:07:49accounts that target us on Facebook
00:07:52pages, us, very often, PSD leaders, because we don't engage in such
00:07:55practices, but it seems that our opponents or I don't know, anyone else
00:07:58interested in directly attacking any PSD
00:08:02leader who has a different opinion divergent
00:08:05with the former prime minister or with the dismissed prime minister Ilie Bolojan or with our former
00:08:09partners from USR, suddenly becomes the target of some.
00:08:12very direct and very concerted attacks somewhere around
00:08:153:4 in the morning, that's when the civic spirit of
00:08:19bots usually activates, I'm not afraid of them either,
00:08:22because at the moment I strongly believe that
00:08:26no matter how much they try to
00:08:29distort reality, people at home are the ones who see, and I am
00:08:33very happy that there are still quality journalists in our country, and I am really happy that
00:08:37I received this invitation for this show. Thank you very much, do you think people at home can
00:08:40filter this? Avalanche of information
00:08:44that does not come only directly, as you also mentioned.
00:08:48It is, technology is very complex, but at
00:08:51the same time, I come from a predominantly rural county in Bistrița in
00:08:55Săud. I tell you that there are people who may have four grades of schooling, but they are
00:08:58extremely wise and know how to distinguish. What messages do people send
00:09:02to PSD? I tell you what messages they send
00:09:05me. In the last period when I go to the market, to church, on
00:09:09the street, simply, there are many people. who stop
00:09:13me, who ask me, Mr. Ivan, do
00:09:17something, unlock that quarrel once and for all, because there are a few people who
00:09:22all the others, millions of people, live,
00:09:26work more and live harder, and I think this is the message that should be
00:09:30at the basis of the discussions that are taking place these days,
00:09:32people live harder, work more and often
00:09:36people who
00:09:39work a healthy family, so to speak,
00:09:43from the middle class cannot afford to go on vacation, cannot afford,
00:09:46perhaps at the end of the month, to pay all their bills or the installments they have at
00:09:49the bank.
00:09:52I don't want to shy away from responsibility, approximately half
00:09:55of the period from 1990 until today, the social
00:09:59democratic party was in government and I want to make a very clear specification
00:10:03based on the data of the National Institute of Statistics which shows that
00:10:07every time there was a prime minister from the Social Democratic Party, Romania
00:10:11had economic growth. I don't want to start with very,
00:10:14very old history, but just if we remember
00:10:18Băsescu's episode in 2008, 2010 with
00:10:21Emil Boc, then Prime Minister Victor Ponta, there was.
00:10:25economic growth, Prime Minister Marcel
00:10:29Victoria Palace, during which time
00:10:32Romania had the second highest economic growth in the entire European
00:10:35Union, and after a year and a half with Ilie Bolojan we have
00:10:39the biggest economic decline, all these exceptional results, you
00:10:43lost the presidential elections with Mr. Ciolacu, having economic growth, politics is based on
00:10:47perceptions and not on realities if it were to be
00:10:50the Social Democratic Party elected based on pension increases, economic development.
00:10:55The construction of highways, then surely it would have obtained the majority
00:10:59of votes.
00:11:02The others managed to conduct a better communication campaign than
00:11:06the Social Democratic Party. Now Romania is in a deadlock, because
00:11:10of what? For a very
00:11:12clear reason, I will tell you directly, because
00:11:16of the stubbornness of one man, and
00:11:18when the Social Democratic Party chose to enter government in
00:11:222025,
00:11:25after the resignation of Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu in a broad coalition with PNL,
00:11:29USR and UDMR, I believe we made a mistake that we were not
00:11:32the ones who should have kept the position of Prime Minister of
00:11:36Romania and then we arrived with the nomination
00:11:39in the person of Mr. Ilie
00:11:42Bolojan, whose qualities as administrator of the municipality of Oradea and of
00:11:46Bihor county are not disputed by anyone, but who, once
00:11:50he arrived at Victoria Palace with
00:11:52an accounting approach.
00:11:55We made a mistake, in my opinion, because we accepted and endorsed certain economic
00:11:59measures, including the rearrangement
00:12:02of taxation, the acceptance of the VAT increase, you agreed,
00:12:05you participated in the governing program, you validated these decisions,
00:12:09so you take responsibility, wait a second, you take responsibility, and that
00:12:13we didn't put our foot down and that we
00:12:16accepted that those measures be taken
00:12:20by the Romanian government, I can tell you in terms of
00:12:22energy that we also had things
00:12:26that... depended on the then acting prime minister and namely the capping of natural gas
00:12:30prices for household consumers until next year, which we did, we
00:12:33thought about them, we designed them, but which were also approved with his endorsement,
00:12:37but situations in which extremely important projects were
00:12:40delayed, which received no answer just because
00:12:44no consensus was reached, so you take
00:12:47responsibility for part of this deadlock
00:12:50absolutely in which Romania finds itself, a
00:12:54critical consequence is when not when you perpetuate
00:12:57a mistake: you decided once wrongly, accepting a political
00:13:01compromise and leaving a prime minister in the person of Mr. Ilie Bolojan at the head of the country,
00:13:05you saw that what he proposed produced
00:13:09negative effects in society, well then you correct this mistake
00:13:12and what we did, we did correctly in April when we decided to leave this
00:13:16government, which for the first time in
00:13:1936 years in the post-December history of Romania after you have
00:13:23an overwhelming vote in... in parliament in a motion of
00:13:26no-confidence, not even those who wrote
00:13:29the constitution after 90 thought that a government dismissed by a motion of no-confidence
00:13:33would continue to cling to the chair at Victoria
00:13:37Palace and would not agree to leave there. Is
00:13:39that the speech from the party, I want to ask
00:13:43you about the points from the party, I was there, I absolutely you were a minister
00:13:46in I lived together with my
00:13:49colleagues very complex things during
00:13:52this period, you cannot have a strictly
00:13:55accounting approach, and I will give you an example that will hurt
00:13:58many residents of Bucharest and Craiova this winter. There are
00:14:0180,000 people who in recent years, during
00:14:05winter, in the capital of Romania have no access to hot water
00:14:08and heating, we have three important hospitals where doctors cannot perform
00:14:12operations because they do not have heating when it is freezing. I came
00:14:15up with a technical plan, after working with specialists from
00:14:19the country and abroad for two months, how we could...
00:14:23some solutions that would work from this year for Bucharest and for
00:14:27Craiova with a minimal cost, 120
00:14:30million Lei was that project that I presented to the former prime minister and
00:14:33for which he said okay, we'll see, we don't have this
00:14:37money. Well, for whom does he govern if
00:14:40not for the people, you cannot have an accounting approach that only
00:14:44takes into account the deficit when you
00:14:47come and bring additional taxes without growing the
00:14:51economy? Now you are in another moment with Mr. Luca.
00:14:55You say with the designated prime minister and
00:14:58you want to enter government with Mr. Bolojan, about
00:15:01whom you say he has an accounting approach, you don't want to break up
00:15:05with PNL under any circumstances in government? I would not equate
00:15:08a person with a party that has a history of over
00:15:12100 years that has, meaning detail do you think Mr. Bolojan
00:15:16is on his own there in PNL, don't you see that he has support, I don't want to
00:15:19comment on the political life of a party that is
00:15:23a competitor with the Social Democratic Party.
00:15:37But, do you think that people at home, people understand this strategy of
00:15:41PSD, after you closed the door on Mr.
00:15:44Bolojan, you cornered him, Mrs. Ștefănescu, we did not have
00:15:48congresses, we did not have congresses in the Social Democratic Party where we said
00:15:52that we will never form a government with the National Liberal Party or with
00:15:55USR, they made this decision, but let's go beyond
00:15:59this party issue and elevate ourselves a little to the national interest,
00:16:02we to succeed Mr. Luca Niculescu who
00:16:06has an irreproachable career. Who is a
00:16:09career diplomat, who is a
00:16:12professional, who has worked with all political parties throughout his
00:16:15career, I have not seen any negative remarks from our
00:16:19side and my colleagues from the Social Democratic Party, nor from other
00:16:22leaders from the other parties, regarding his
00:16:26quality as
00:16:27a diplomat,
00:16:31regardless of how well prepared he is, without a stable political
00:16:35majority in the Romanian parliament he would be. only
00:16:38a - scapegoat for all
00:16:41the things that do not work in this country, and we are serious with Mr.
00:16:44Luca Niculescu, when we told him that he needs not just a vote
00:16:48of investiture in a few days, but he needs a
00:16:52stable majority in parliament and transparent for six months,
00:16:56a transparent majority or for two years on
00:16:59a serious approach is to talk about this government until December
00:17:022028 when the parliamentary elections are, this is
00:17:06PSD's position. Those from PSD, yes, we from PSD have
00:17:09127 votes, we still need a minimum of 106 votes
00:17:13that Luca Niculescu should have, it is impossible for us to collect these
00:17:16votes, because it was not us who received the nomination for the position of Prime
00:17:20Minister, we said very clearly, us, provided
00:17:23that the 10 priority economic recovery measures are included
00:17:27in the governing program, then in principle he
00:17:31can rely on us, but only if we have the support
00:17:35of other political parties that will come now. meaning other parties
00:17:38PNL and UDMR, there are other
00:17:40parties.
00:17:44Basically it's a love-hate
00:17:47relationship here. We didn't get to initiate a motion of
00:17:51no confidence against Mr. Ilie Bolojan for reasons
00:17:54related to his membership in a party or because
00:17:57he comes and for the measures he took that did not even
00:18:01take into account the opinion of the Social Democratic Party, but played on strength
00:18:05in a coalition that is a coalition that. doesn't work, you have no
00:18:09stability,
00:18:11organized, we have the statements made
00:18:15today by the leaders of the parties, by
00:18:18the designated Prime Minister Luca Niculescu, we also extracted a
00:18:21fragment from what Mr. Ilie Bolojan posted about
00:18:24this cooperation that he no longer wants with
00:18:28PSD, but before we give these statements, Mr. Ivan,
00:18:31why does PSD not have the courage to govern alone now with Mr.
00:18:35Luca Niculescu, it's not about that.
00:18:43We came with our proposal for prime minister, if we had received this nomination,
00:18:47we would have gone to gather votes to pass this government. Mr. Niculescu's
00:18:50proposal is from the President of Romania,
00:18:54we from PSD came with the proposal to have Sorin Grindeanu as prime minister
00:18:58to have political support. We were the only party
00:19:01in Romania that went to these consultations with a name for
00:19:04prime minister.
00:19:12127 votes are not enough, it doesn't just depend on us, and for us to
00:19:16go with a political program that receives a vote of
00:19:19investiture today and from tomorrow the popularism sarabande starts
00:19:22in parliament which comes from all parties, represents a
00:19:25political mistake in which we also put Mr. Luca Niculescu and represents a proof of
00:19:29unseriousness, yes, in fact you care about Mr. Luca Niculescu, not about Mr. Sorin
00:19:33Grindeanu, we care about Romania, we assumed with Mr. Sorin Grindeanu to be.
00:19:37prime minister three or four months ago, we came with this proposal,
00:19:40that's right, I was surprised to see that even though we are the first party in Romania
00:19:44in the Romanian Parliament he was not nominated even for the fifth
00:19:48nomination, and do you have an explanation at PSD, did you
00:19:50discuss
00:19:53I put myself in the shoes of Mr. President Nicușordan, why did he not
00:19:57make this nomination, but you, because you just said that
00:20:01you are Mr. Dâncu's apprentice, Mr. Dâncu does strategic
00:20:04analysis, he was my professor at the university. Do you
00:20:07do strategic analysis at PSD, don't you have an explanation for strategic
00:20:11analysis at PSD, I was in charge of the
00:20:15energy portfolio, I repeat once again, it's very difficult and
00:20:18I would enter an area of speculation that has no real
00:20:21basis, to say why the President
00:20:25of Romania did not designate Mr. Sorin Grindeanu for the position of
00:20:28prime minister, I believe that it would have been a first option, it should have been
00:20:32this, the largest party in Romania came with an option, they were expecting
00:20:35this option. But some say, in the meantime, we had five
00:20:39right-wing proposals that all correct, some say in the public
00:20:43space that in fact there is a secret agreement between Mr. Sorin
00:20:46Grindeanu and President Nicușordan, what is your opinion? It wouldn't be talked about
00:20:50in the public space, meaning it's a contradiction of terms, yes, it's mentioned in the public space,
00:20:54do you know about this secret agreement, I don't know if such a thing exists and I don't
00:20:58believe it, I don't believe it, I don't know if such a thing exists and I don't believe it because it would make
00:21:02sense, if it's secret it wouldn't be talked about in the public space, the first
00:21:05contradiction, analyses are done, at PSD I knew
00:21:08that deep analyses are done, you say that for now we
00:21:11often find out from television and not once, often
00:21:15from television what each of us would have said and.
00:21:18we will discuss immediately what is happening in PSD, let's
00:21:21give the statements and return to the discussion,
00:21:25we talked about
00:21:28the emergencies that Romania and
00:21:31Romanians and people need
00:21:34for the rapid installation of a
00:21:37government, because
00:21:40we need a very urgent budget rectification,
00:21:43we need a budget for next year, also until
00:21:47the end of the year, because
00:21:51the visit of rating agencies is
00:21:53coming and we talked especially about what the people
00:21:56of this country need, predictability,
00:21:59transparency, trust and
00:22:03it was, as I said, a substantial discussion,
00:22:06at least for six months I would like there to be
00:22:10such an agreement on the topics we discussed, these very
00:22:13urgent ones, to prepare this government for the next two years, but
00:22:17at least for six. To
00:22:20have this minimal agreement on essential
00:22:23issues that Romanians need. I said that I would prefer
00:22:26a government that is political, because
00:22:30or a mixed formula,
00:22:34political, technocratic, because
00:22:37I honestly believe that it has more power to
00:22:40do the things that are needed for Romanians. A technocratic
00:22:43government is an option, but it is not my first
00:22:46option. Progress has been made compared to last week.
00:22:50Discussions are open and I don't want to close
00:22:53any door to
00:22:55dialogue, for PNL and
00:22:58UDMR, to be part of this
00:23:02effort to get through this difficult
00:23:05period, in which we have rectification,
00:23:09we must have a new budget, in February rating
00:23:13agencies will start coming again and
00:23:15in spring we will do an evaluation, Luca
00:23:19Niculescu. is not the Prime Minister of
00:23:21PSD,
00:23:24why should the Social Democratic Party assume him? It is
00:23:28the President's proposal, I don't believe
00:23:31in issues proposed
00:23:34by Dominic Fritz, but would you be open to a government rotation?
00:23:38No, but let me give a nuance. I don't
00:23:41rule it out. The Social Democratic Party is prepared for early
00:23:44elections. If this scenario is launched, we will start a
00:23:48game of. Dominoes that at some point will
00:23:52not be able to be
00:23:53stopped.
00:23:57Romania needs a functional government, and PNL is open
00:24:00to contributing to its installation. However, we will not accept to
00:24:04repeat political formulas that have proven to be dysfunctional.
00:24:07The refusal to govern with PSD is not due to egos or political calculations,
00:24:11but to the lesson we learned in the last year. PSD demonstrated that
00:24:15it needs partners rather to have someone to blame when
00:24:19blocks it. necessary and to protect their own
00:24:23interests, including through the use of public
00:24:26resources. To show how the direction changes, how the horn of abundance
00:24:29overflows the country and at the same time, how it avoids blowing
00:24:33up Romania's budget. But it refuses,
00:24:36without the participation of the PNL. Why do they need the PNL? Why are they pulling
00:24:39the PNL to spoil their change of direction and miraculous
00:24:43solutions? Because assuming governance also means assuming
00:24:46responsibility, as we were willing to assume it. through
00:24:50the Muresan minority government, rejected by the PSD. Without
00:24:53the PNL there would be another shield, and the PSD would have someone else to blame
00:24:57when the promises, which cannot be honored, turn out to be empty
00:25:01words. We will not vote for a
00:25:05government in which there are PSD
00:25:07ministers. On the other hand, and this is again
00:25:11not new, I told him
00:25:15that if there is
00:25:18a possibility of a PNL government.
00:25:22USR, UDMR, with him as prime minister, it is, for
00:25:25sure, something that we would look at
00:25:28with great openness, I saw in public
00:25:32that Sorin Grindeanu is also open to such
00:25:35a variant and it might be
00:25:38this, the unblocking that is needed,
00:25:42what we will not do however is to
00:25:45prolong this
00:25:48agony, we will not make secret
00:25:52arrangements, we see that all the conditions set
00:25:55by the constitution for early elections
00:25:58have been met and that is why I have... I said very openly and
00:26:02frankly, that if
00:26:06this government
00:26:09does not manage to form a majority once again
00:26:12assumed that does not then have a parallel
00:26:16majority between PSD and AUR in Parliament, then the healthiest
00:26:20solution for the country and the most honest one for
00:26:23the citizens are early
00:26:25elections.
00:26:28What do you say, Mr. Ivan, PSD, early elections, are you preparing?
00:26:32We said this, we were and are prepared to receive the nomination
00:26:36for the position of prime minister and to assume a serious governance that will get Romania out of
00:26:39the crisis, we didn't receive it, and if no political consensus is reached,
00:26:43I said it today in our internal meetings, the party president also
00:26:46said it at the end, we are also prepared for this scenario of early
00:26:50elections, it is not desirable, but if there is no other formula to find a formula
00:26:54for governance, yes, and regarding Mr. Bolojan's statements,
00:26:57if we do a survey among people and if we
00:27:01ask the most informed. to mention at least one reform that Mr. Ilie
00:27:04Bolojan did apart from firing two bulldozer drivers from some town halls and three
00:27:08waiters from the government, I don't know how to find it, he turned on the light in
00:27:11the pantry or made other concrete and measurable reforms, if we were to talk about that and
00:27:15second, if he keeps saying that PSD is blocking, he should come and say publicly where, who, with
00:27:19full name from PSD blocked the flourishing vision of this
00:27:22horn of abundance for Romania, which only you, I see, are critical
00:27:26of Mr. Bolojan, and I repeat, you want him to remain a partner.
00:27:30towards Mr. Bolojan as a person, but
00:27:32towards his actions and his statements which, this deadlock cannot be
00:27:36overcome, so Romania remains in this deadlock, we said
00:27:40it, if you were to do an analysis of the statements of both myself and
00:27:43my colleague from
00:27:46last week, since Mr. Luca Niculescu came and we had a
00:27:50civilized discussion at the Social Democratic Party headquarters in
00:27:53which we presented solutions to overcome this economic crisis of
00:27:57Romania, he was open to the suggestions we
00:28:00presented which he should include.
00:28:09We are not talking about friendship, we are talking about serious things for Romania, and from the point of view of the governing program
00:28:13that should be voted on, it needs legitimacy from other
00:28:16parties as well, it can include serious ideas from the PNL and from
00:28:20the UDMR and other parties, because I am convinced that if
00:28:23it does not have the votes at this hour or you know it has them,
00:28:27to what extent will this cabinet pass, I know it has
00:28:30them in the situation where it includes.
00:29:02since this coalition PSD, PNL,
00:29:06UDMR started functioning, which functioned and did good things for Romania, it took 48
00:29:09hours since there was another prime minister until a new government was formed, now it's five
00:29:13months that it's been discussed, discussed, discussed, because
00:29:17no one knows who is part of
00:29:20this government, although there are three days left until this,
00:29:24I repeat, there were situations where consultations
00:29:27began, the governing
00:29:30program,
00:29:32in 48 hours, so you are optimistic that there is time for these things to happen
00:29:36at the moment when you, sir,
00:29:39enter the government? I don't, I but every time I became
00:29:43a member of the government, I became a member of the Social Democratic Party, under the Social
00:29:47Democratic Party, regardless of the prime minister's name, and if I get there, I will
00:29:50get there based on the proposal of my colleagues from the Social Democratic Party. I do not do politics as
00:29:54an individual and I will never do it. What chances do you give a PSD
00:29:58AUR government? At the moment, I don't see this discussion as
00:30:01a priority. To be very explicit, I don't
00:30:04see it, at the moment we are talking,
00:30:08a dialogue partner for PSD, there are
00:30:11projects in parliament that were voted on by
00:30:15AUR, and by PNL, and by PSD, a
00:30:19complex discussion, I start from a very clear premise that at the
00:30:23moment we must have a government of zero priority, and
00:30:26in politics you have to have discussions with everyone, that does not automatically mean that
00:30:30you agree, you can discuss. to conclude that you don't agree with
00:30:34what you talked about with a person when you sat at the table with him, regardless of the party he
00:30:38belongs to, so you leave the door open for this dialogue, it's not about that, now
00:30:42we have a nomination in the person of Mr. Luca Niculescu, we from
00:30:45PSD in the last three months we worked on a governing program together with the private
00:30:49sector, with specialists from universities, from companies,
00:30:52from civil society to deliver real solutions with clear
00:30:55deadlines with
00:30:59get Romania out of the crisis.
