00:10:07gas for our economy, the plant reduces greenhouse gas
00:10:10emissions by about 7 million tons per... that is, there is also an effect in
00:10:14ecology, yes, this is very important, but agree, we
00:10:18are talking about social effects, economic
00:10:21effects, about technologies, about
00:10:24ecology, about trust in peaceful atom, but
00:10:27the strategic scale of these changes, the key results

00:13:25a Belarusian nuclear power plant, such a source of energy, it provoked
00:13:28a rapid growth in electricity consumption. Over the past 5 years, our
00:13:32electricity consumption has significantly increased. In
00:13:352024-25, we set a record
00:13:39for electricity consumption for the entire period of our country's independence,
00:13:43more than 43 billion kilowatt-hours. This year,
00:13:46we are growing by approximately 3% compared to
00:13:502025, and I am absolutely convinced that this year we will definitely

00:13:56needs to be satisfied, but the following situation arises:
00:14:04when there is an energy source, there is a consumer who is interested in
00:14:08this energy, but networks are needed to transmit this electricity

00:17:26of using storage devices to solve and untangle this knot, but
00:17:30in what part are storage devices used, are they placed with the consumer, are they
00:17:34placed in the middle of this chain? Absolutely correct

00:25:22begin to work on the issue of
00:25:24constructing a nuclear power plant.
00:25:27Approximately or tentatively, the discussion is about a site in
00:25:31Mogilev region. This is not yet firmly fixed, because there is a corresponding
00:25:34procedure for selecting this site, but we understand that based on geological
00:25:38grounds, we will most likely be doing something in this area.

00:25:45why we are pursuing both solutions in parallel.
00:25:49The fact is that they are very far apart in time. If we
00:25:53implement the project as a third power unit at the Belarusian nuclear
00:25:56power plant, these are clear conditions, clear requirements. I repeat
00:25:59that this is a copy of those units that were implemented
00:26:03within the framework of the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, and the implementation times
00:26:06are quite clear and short. In the case that we are talking about
00:26:10a second nuclear power plant, this is a new project, a new
00:26:13site, new selection
00:26:15of this site, and so on, and this extends beyond
00:26:182040. But the decision on this
00:26:22construction needs to be made now and this work needs to be done, because
00:26:25energy is not an industry that lives by reacting
00:26:29to today's problems. Energy is an industry that
00:26:33reacts to problems that will arise in 10-15
00:26:37years. Our current energy system, its
00:26:39configuration is capable of withstanding the development of the Belarusian economy
00:26:43at the pace it is developing, beyond
00:26:462040. But in order to ensure the next stage
00:26:50of development, by the 2040s, we need to
00:26:53have a new structure for Belarusian generation. Do I understand correctly that
00:26:56here the question is not whether a third
00:26:59power unit or a second nuclear power plant.

00:32:55certain competition, some, well, not entirely possibly conscientious

00:34:22or lower the cost of electricity for traditional
00:34:26sectors, but for those new sectors that appeared,
00:34:30which did not exist before, which needed to be stimulated in terms of their further
00:34:33development, we there formed so-called preferential
00:34:37tariffs or reduced tariffs for the use of electrical energy. The most striking
00:34:40example, understandable to the layman, is the use of electrical energy
00:34:44for heating. water supply, that is, if you use this
00:34:47electricity for these purposes, then you have two possibilities of getting
00:34:51tariffs, very small ones, something around 5 kopecks and around 12 kopecks,
00:34:54if you have one meter for everything necessary, while it's
00:34:58more than 26 kopecks per 1 kilowatt-hour
00:35:02if you do not use electricity for these needs. Similar approaches are used in
00:35:05industry. We have preferential tariffs for energy-intensive
00:35:09enterprises, that is, if an enterprise consumes a large amount of electrical energy,
00:35:13more than 15 million kilowatt-hours,
00:35:45could afford to have electric vehicles, which today we have in the country, well,
00:35:48today on the roads of the country, more than
00:35:5165,000 cars run with
00:35:55electric drive. At the beginning of this year, there were

00:36:37felt that people were concerned about safety issues, but safety

00:36:44products, that fuel, which is used in a nuclear
00:36:47power plant. In a nutshell, people are concerned about the fate
