00:00:00Central Asia, meaning today there is interest in this history.
00:00:04Many people can say differently
00:00:07what history they have. Here is
00:00:10a three-thousand-year history of people
00:00:14that is confirmed and has existed, and today there is huge
00:00:16interest in it. When I came here,
00:00:20I was told that the mentality of Uzbek
00:00:23citizens and Belarusian citizens is very similar. Unless you live
00:00:26here for some time, you won't feel it. It's a mentality.
00:01:00Central Asia stood on the Silk
00:01:03Road, and accordingly, this was strongly reflected in the mentality of people.
00:01:06Well, in general, the tourism industry is,
00:01:10probably, such a huge component that pulls
00:01:14a huge number of other sectors
00:01:17of the economy. After all, a tourist is not only about seeing
00:01:21a historical monument. A tourist needs to fly, they need
00:01:24logistics, a tourist needs a place to live, so
00:01:28it's construction.
00:02:00public holiday, the day of the formation of the People's Republic of China.
00:02:03President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko sent congratulations to the Chairman
00:02:07of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping. All-weather and strategic, also friendly
00:02:11and partnership, this is how Belarus-China relations are characterized.
00:02:14This is a vivid example of exemplary cooperation between
00:02:18countries, aimed at joint development in accordance with
00:02:21the Shanghai Spirit. This development is reflected in a number of really
00:02:24working successful projects, from the most ambitious Great
00:02:28Stone to humanitarian ones. By the way, the very first project in
00:02:31the field of education was the Confucius Institute of the Belarusian National
00:02:35Technical University. 12 years ago, BNTU and
00:02:38Northeastern University joined forces within the framework of the "One Belt, One
00:02:42Road" initiative. We have in our studio the director
00:02:45of the Confucius Institute for Science and Technology of BNTU, Vladimir
00:02:49Kliyenkov. Hello. Hello. Vladimir
00:02:52Alexandrovich, in recent years, relations between Belarus and China have reached the level
00:02:56of an all-weather strategic partnership. What role do
00:02:59humanitarian and educational ties play in this interaction?
00:03:02In the first place, humanitarian ties
00:03:05help our citizens
00:03:08to get acquainted with the culture of China, to show that despite the fact that China
00:03:12is geographically very far away, but
00:03:14emotionally we are very close. Students from China coming to
00:03:17Belarus feel this already, let's say, from
00:03:21the very first moments, during their studies at the university,
00:03:24Belarusian citizens do not refuse them
00:03:27assistance, and this helps to strengthen
00:03:31between our countries. The Confucius Institute of BNTU is a unique scientific and educational center.
00:03:35How does it differ from other similar centers? Our
00:03:38Confucius Institute is unique among Belarusian
00:03:42Confucius Institutes in that we were the first in the world
00:03:45whose specialization was precisely in science and technology.
00:03:48Despite teaching classical Chinese,
00:03:52our institute also teaches technical and
00:03:55business Chinese. Also, in our activities, we emphasize
00:05:00during their studies in Belarus, they
00:05:03find good friends and comrades among our citizens.
00:05:06Well, that means that engineering personnel are valued, and
00:05:10we draw
00:05:13technologies from China, not human resources. Here, we can
00:05:17say 50/50, that is, when Chinese
00:05:20students come
00:05:23here, they get a fundamental engineering
00:05:25education, but they use it
00:05:29within their technologies. That is, we lay the foundation,
00:05:33but they already apply
00:05:35these knowledge to their production, to their technologies, in China. That is, the training modules in
00:05:39Belarus are at a high
00:05:43level, yes. Vladimir, interest in the scientific and educational
00:05:46sphere is growing year by year between Belarus and
00:05:50China. How are things in this sphere now? The study of Chinese
00:05:53language, in particular, has become very popular among our citizens.
00:05:57Annually, if we take the last 5 years, the number of students studying
00:06:00Chinese language at our institute has almost doubled.
00:06:04Chinese language is studied by
00:06:07everyone from young
00:06:09to old. Schoolchildren study it
00:06:13for further admission to China, because they
00:06:16consider their further education as
00:06:19an opportunity to implement some
00:06:23projects, and then return to Belarus
00:06:26after graduation. Adults, as a rule, study
00:06:29Chinese language precisely for work,
00:06:32implementation, or establishing ties with
00:06:35partners from China. Well, educational programs that help
00:06:38to learn Belarusian or Russian languages exist in Chinese
00:06:42universities. Yes, there are special faculties that are engaged
00:06:46in teaching Russian language, but upon arrival in
00:06:49Belarus, in particular at BNTU, there are also Russian
00:06:52language courses, where any foreign citizen who wishes can
00:06:56come and learn Russian. There are also preparatory
00:06:59departments for students, where they
00:07:02study Russian language and basic subjects, that is,
00:07:05mathematics, chemistry, physics, what they need for their future field of study.
00:07:09Vladimir, Belarusian students who come
00:07:12to study in China or under academic exchange programs, what
00:07:16do they face directly when they arrive in China? Maybe
00:07:20there are some problems, or on the contrary,
00:07:23some close interaction has been established that helps students to adapt
00:07:27directly in universities? Well,
00:07:30first of all, the admission of Belarusian students to Chinese universities is connected with
00:07:34the fact that they must have a certain level of Chinese language,
00:07:38because teaching takes place in Chinese, and the curriculum
00:07:41in English is very limited. Participation
00:07:45in these programs is mainly within the framework of an intergovernmental agreement between
00:07:49Belarus and China, where every year a certain
00:07:52number of quotas are allocated for studying at Chinese universities. Upon
00:07:56arrival, probably, first of all, they face difficulties
00:07:59in everyday life. Because, if in our universities parents can always
00:08:03help, then at 800 km there is
00:08:06no such possibility. With difficulties, if
00:08:09they have studied Chinese well and can speak it,
00:08:13very few arise, because basically most
00:08:17of those who have studied Chinese and have the corresponding
00:08:20certificate, they can already speak and they establish their
00:08:24communication quite quickly.
00:08:27Perhaps, atypical are the living conditions,
00:08:31because unlike, say, our own dormitories,
00:08:34where there is a kitchen and some
00:08:37other household conditions, in Chinese universities it's a little different,
00:08:41that is... in fact, the university provides a place
00:08:44to live, all other daily life and so on, students arrange
00:08:48independently. But thanks to,
00:08:51let's say, the fact that they participate in intergovernmental programs,
00:08:54the support from the international departments of universities
00:08:58where our citizens enroll
00:09:01is enormous, that is, they help with registration in
00:09:04China, with some logistical
00:09:07aspects, because at a long
00:09:10distance from parents, someone adult needs to help. Well,
00:09:14cultural, in the cultural sphere there are also big differences. In
00:09:18the cultural sphere, yes, but as a rule, being
00:09:21there, our students still try
00:09:24to introduce Chinese citizens to their culture. But, for example,
00:09:28at the Northeastern University an international
00:09:31festival of international cultures
00:09:35is held annually, where students who participate in the
00:09:38academic exchange program, they demonstrate their cultural
00:09:42values, national values, and at the same time, the Chinese
00:09:46university introduces them more thoroughly to its
00:09:50values through excursions, trips somewhere.
00:09:54Well, within BNTU, for example, for foreign citizens,
00:09:57a festival of national cultures
00:09:59is also organized, where any
00:10:03foreign student with some cultural talent can demonstrate it on
00:10:06stage, thereby introducing to culture, to
00:10:09everyday life, or to some national treasures. But this helps
00:10:25many talented students
00:10:28help through culture, through cultural performances,
00:10:31some communication, to get to know the people themselves.
00:10:35In a word, everything is based on partnership, in principle, as in any
00:10:38sphere. We will continue the conversation in the studio very soon, but now
00:10:41let's find out what other events have marked the time
00:10:44in Belarus.
00:10:51The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan paid an official visit to Belarus. At
00:10:55a meeting with President Alexander Lukashenko, the development of
00:10:58cooperation was discussed. It currently covers key areas
00:11:02from agriculture and industry to trade and services.
00:11:05The economies complement each other, which helps
00:11:08to build a long-term partnership. The Prime Ministers
00:11:11of the two countries spoke about the development of cooperation.
00:11:14Negotiations were held in an expanded format. Alexander Turchin
00:11:17made a proposal to hold a joint Belarusian-Kazakhstan
00:11:21forum. Following the results, a number of international documents were signed.
00:11:26Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree approving the most important indicators
00:11:30and parameters of socio-economic development of Belarus for
00:11:332027. For the National Bank and the government,
00:11:37a target is set to limit inflation at
00:11:41a level not exceeding 6%. Successful
00:11:44implementation of investment, production, and export plans
00:11:47will ensure an increase in real disposable income
00:11:51of the population by 3%.
00:11:55A meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union
00:11:57State was held in Minsk. Current issues of bilateral
00:12:01cooperation were discussed: unification of Union efforts in the sphere of industry and
00:12:04high technologies, growth of trade, as well as
00:12:07ensuring equal conditions for citizens of our countries. Following the results
00:12:11of the meeting, the draft strategy of youth policy of the Union
00:12:14State was approved, the theme of the work of the supreme bodies
00:12:17for the next year was determined, and a memorandum on the construction
00:12:20of a high-speed railway between the capitals of the two
00:12:23states was signed. Belarus hosted the ninth congress
00:12:27of teachers and education workers of the CIS member states.
00:12:31The main topic of the large-scale forum is integration processes in the sphere
00:12:35of education in the context of modern challenges. For two days,
00:12:38participants exchanged professional experience, worked in specialized
00:12:41sections, held discussions on thematic platforms and
00:12:45master classes. The congress became a unique platform for
00:12:48exchanging author's methods.
00:12:51More than fifty leaders of the youth movement "Iskra" from all
00:13:14Over the course of a week, the young party members' program included lectures, trainings, master classes, and expert discussions. The focus was on party building in
00:13:17the modern political system of Belarus, ideological
00:13:21processes, and effective practices of interaction with the media.
00:13:30Belarus time on international air, in our studio is the director of the Confucius Institute
00:13:34for Science and Technology of BNTU, Vladimir
00:13:37Klinkov. Vladimir, the center you head is essentially
00:13:41a bridge between the educational systems of Belarus and China. Well,
00:13:45what are our specific competencies that Chinese partners value,
00:13:48and what are we learning from China now?
00:13:51First of all, Chinese partners value us for,
00:13:55let's say, our diligence and for solving
00:13:59non-standard tasks. Considering that our engineering education
00:14:02is still strong,
00:14:05many projects proposed by the Chinese
00:14:07side are solved only by our specialists.
00:14:11Therefore, for the most part, for the implementation of complex scientific
00:14:15projects, our scientists are always in high demand. Well, maybe an example,
00:14:19well, for example, within the framework of cooperation between BNTU and
00:14:22Northeastern University, a professor
00:14:26from the Department of Materials Science, he participates in a project to strengthen
00:14:29steel alloys.
00:14:32Is this all at the level of some developments now, or are there already some
00:14:36concrete things that are being introduced into the real sector
00:14:38of the economy? These are joint
00:14:41researches, and the results of these researches will already
00:14:45be introduced into production in Belarus and in China. Joint
00:14:48research is an important part of the partnership. Does the Confucius
00:14:51Institute have specific scientific projects with Chinese partners?
00:15:25use Chinese companies. Residents require
00:15:29translation into Russian, that is, our teachers help
00:15:32workers to introduce Chinese technologies in our
00:15:35territory.
00:16:38not all of our projects can pass to the final
00:16:41selection. So, what do you think allowed us to build such
00:16:45close partnership relations that bear fruit?
00:16:47Thanks to the
00:16:50similarity of the two peoples, both the Belarusian
00:16:53people and the Chinese people, we are all very hardworking,
00:16:57and achieving goals to improve living
00:17:00conditions is very important for both
00:17:03sides. Do we achieve these goals? Of course, we always achieve
00:17:06goals. Thank you, I remind you that the guest of our program was the director of the Confucius Institute
00:17:10for Science and Technology of BNTU, Vladimir
00:17:13Klinkov.
00:17:19And in continuation, what has marked the time of Belarus in the world? In the studio is our
00:17:23colleague Elena Putus. Lena, where are we going today? Let's start with
00:17:27Saudi Arabia, Belarusian products at the largest
00:17:30international exhibition. Next, France and a tribute to the brave
00:17:33Belarusians, national flavor in the very heart of Baku.
00:17:37Developments of Minsk schoolchildren in Malaysia and a fashion show of Belarusian beauty in
00:17:41New York. Belarusian manufacturers at the largest food
00:17:44exhibition in the Middle East Saudi Food Show. The large-scale
00:17:47forum in Jeddah, one of Saudi Arabia's key trade and economic hubs,
00:17:51brought together a thousand companies from 90
00:17:54countries. Especially for the exhibition, Belarus prepared a wide range
00:17:58of dairy products, which are in high demand among residents
00:18:01of the region. These are products from dry milk, assorted cheeses,
00:18:05butter, desserts, ice cream and baby food.
00:18:08We also brought chocolate, sweets, rapeseed oil and
00:18:11potato chips. Such exhibitions are an opportunity to show
00:18:15yourself and find new partners. By the way, the national exposition was called
00:18:18"Belarus, the taste of nature," which emphasizes the naturalness of our
00:18:21products, and this, as we know, is valued in
00:18:23the world.
00:18:26In France, the memory of brave natives of Belarus was honored. At the memorial
00:18:29complex of Tile, flowers were laid at the monument in honor of the "Rodina" detachment.
00:18:33It included 37 Soviet women who
00:18:36in 1944 managed to escape from the concentration camp and
00:18:39join the partisans of the French Resistance.
00:18:42The detachment was commanded by Belarusians, Nadezhda Lisovets and Roza
00:18:46Fridzon. In memory of these events, sculptural
00:18:49compositions were installed in the Tile mine in summer. The fact that fragile
00:18:52women did not surrender to fate, decided to resist it
00:18:56and fight - is an example of great courage and
00:18:58self-sacrifice. And this feat once again reminds
00:19:02us of the high price of victory. The character of the people is literally woven
00:19:05into its history. Belarusian flavor in the very heart
00:19:09of Baku, for the first time in Azerbaijan, the Day of National
00:19:12Costume, which united the traditions of seventeen nations of the world. Among
00:19:16the participants were employees of the Belarusian Diplomatic Mission led by the Ambassador. They
00:19:20presented embroidered shirts and traditional folk costumes. This is not
00:19:23just a wardrobe of the past, but a real talisman and the alphabet
00:19:27of Belarusian history. Every pattern has its own meaning. In
00:19:30Belarus there are several dozen variants of the national costume,
00:19:34differences in colors, details and ornamental motifs. Previously, by
00:19:38costume one could determine where a person was from, their marital status and even
00:19:41approximate age. Despite the fact that the costume was invented hundreds of years ago, it
00:19:45has not become a museum exhibit, but is still part of a living culture.
00:20:32Yes, it's truly very bright and original, and most importantly,
00:20:35the atmosphere enhances it.
00:20:58And here we have something to be proud of. Belarusians constantly confirm the level of their knowledge. Minsk
00:21:02schoolchildren with medals from the international competition of inventions
00:21:05and research projects in Malaysia. More than
00:21:08500 teams from 12 countries participated: Belarus has silver
00:21:12and two golds. Second place for a development for wastewater treatment with
00:21:16recycled batteries. First place for an alternative to chemical
00:21:20fertilizers, technology for the production of useful
00:21:23microorganisms, second gold for research
00:21:26on bioplastics and composting technology in the environment.
00:21:29New developments guarding nature sounds promising
00:21:33and timely. Well, yes, and the fact that schoolchildren came up with it, of course, adults helped them,
00:21:37but nevertheless, schoolchildren means that Belarus pays great
00:21:40attention to environmental education. And now New York
00:21:44and Fashion Week with the participation of Belarus. The trip became part
00:21:47of the preparation for the Miss Universe competition, which
00:21:51will be held in November in Puerto Rico. Belarus will be represented by Aliya
00:21:55Korotkaya. In the fashion world, she is not a beginner; this year she was among
00:21:58the top three at the Miss BRICS competition and additionally won the audience sympathy award. In
00:22:02New York, along with other winners of national
00:22:05selections, Aliya walked the catwalk, gave interviews and participated
00:22:08in photo shoots. One of the bright events was the show of the Dominican
00:22:12designer Yanina Azar, who specially organized a fashion show
00:22:16for Miss Universe 2026 contestants. By the way, about
00:22:19Yanina Azar's dress, Aliya says that she absolutely loved it, and also
00:22:23she fell in love with a dress in the colors of the Belarusian flag. Now
00:22:27Aliya is in Minsk, we were able to meet her and found out what mood
00:22:30she is in preparing for the competition.
00:22:34It is a great honor and personal responsibility
00:22:37for me to represent our beloved country, Belarus, at the international
00:22:41Miss Universe pageant. At a time when
00:22:44our country is celebrating the Year of the Belarusian Woman.
00:22:47My personal mission at this competition is to show who
00:22:51a modern Belarusian woman is. In
00:22:54my opinion, this woman is not only
00:22:58with dazzling grace and beauty, but also
00:23:02with a unique combination
00:23:05of strong character, inner dignity
00:23:08and a truly kind heart. I recently participated
00:23:11in New York Fashion Week, and I think
00:23:15that this is a huge experience for me, which will definitely help me achieve
00:23:19great success.
00:24:20memory pain, hope and overcoming allows us to see global
00:24:23changes behind the private story, time and events
00:24:26around us. And also the great power of art allows us to
00:24:30think and draw conclusions about how important it is today to preserve this
00:24:33fragile world and live in harmony
00:24:35and mutual understanding. And that's all, Ekaterina Strikha and Evgeny
00:24:39Kolechets summarized the results with you. What will be the time of
00:24:43Belarus, we will find out next week. See you on the international
00:24:46air.
00:25:05things that surround us in everyday life. In this project,
00:25:09we will look through the prism of science. They can
00:25:12turn an abandoned wasteland into a dream garden, just
00:25:16a few garden plots into an ideal place for relaxation
00:25:19with... aesthetics and a lot of useful functions. It is
00:25:23thanks to them that our cities are filled with greenery and
00:25:26color, because they are masters in creating harmony,
00:25:29architecture and nature. As early as the late 19th
00:25:32century, it was proven that the natural environment, the landscape,
00:25:36favorably affects the psychological state
00:25:40of people, and this was used for medical purposes. In general, if
00:25:43we consider phylogenetic connections, then
00:25:46mushrooms are closer to us, to humans, than
00:25:51uh-huh, great, it's just that for some reason in one year there are mushrooms in the forest,
00:25:54if we are talking about cap mushrooms, yes, but
00:25:58in another year, no matter how much you look, there won't be
00:26:01any. Watch
00:26:08on Belarus
