00:15:43problem, so lot of problem

00:15:50there, the houses around, even the the
00:15:53plants, the cash crops there, they are
00:15:57always affected by
00:16:00the the erosion issue, recognizing this looming
00:16:03apocalypse from day one, governor so...

00:20:19in the night it will not be a place you would like to pass through at night because
00:20:23it's kind of dark and scary and all of that we say very big thank you to
00:20:27the governor the state and we encourage him to do even more good works
00:20:31even as he has been doing the
00:20:35state is fighting back with breath it
00:20:38hards, we are still at home, preparing for work,
00:20:42so all of sudden some men that went
00:20:46to their farm saw something like lime
00:20:50so they started lining alarm so everybody came outside they were looking

00:20:57sudden they just everybody just went back to their home but this
00:21:01is our house we live near the thing so all of
00:21:05sudden we started hearing some strange voice so we
00:21:09came out and what we saw was this

00:21:19for one week, but that time is doing raining season, every time
00:21:23rain for will expand. all i have to say is

00:21:36our things, because we thought this our house would also

00:22:55buildings that collapsed carried

00:23:08around several them were sweped away by
00:23:12that colossal erosion attack uh

00:23:51grateful to governor that he headed our cries and

00:24:08despite the heavy state budget allocations, despite the
00:24:12blood, sweat and engineering triamps,
00:24:16we are fighting a war with our bare hands, we have...

00:25:01erosion, we can be able to deal with it. i think the governor has done
00:25:05well
00:25:06so far, if you look at this challenge we have here uh, this is just
00:25:09the
00:25:10phase one, the governor has taken care of ph two and ph three, so we are looking at
00:25:13ph which will cost uh uh between 9 to 15 billion
00:25:17today with that will tell you the size.
00:25:20the uh uh problem we have, i think and
00:25:23this one part these challenges we have here is uh
00:25:27the the
00:25:30people of Anand state has you
00:25:33know sometimes they go
00:25:36against uh nature that way
00:25:40because water must always find it a lower level so when people build on
00:25:44waterways this is the resultant effect governor
00:25:47saludo has maintained total bru so cander,
00:25:51fixing the entire network of over 100 deep gully
00:25:54erosion sites across Annambra would cause trillions
00:25:58of naira, trillions an amount,
00:26:02that completely eclipses the independent balance sheet of a
00:26:06subnational state, whole communities first the
00:26:10threat of submansion and anambra
00:26:14rightly said is the goldly erosion capital of
00:26:18africa if not the world, that

00:26:25urgency the matter, and even if we spend the entire
00:26:29resources the state for the next 10 years, not
00:26:32even scratch the problem, it's beyond government spending
00:26:36money, it's what we all must take -
00:26:40destiny in our hands. about
00:26:43160 out of 179 communities, that's
00:26:4789% of our communities face
00:26:50imminent threat from expanding

00:26:59100 active gully sit.

00:27:09gold sides all over the

00:27:15and while we have done so much to stem it, still

00:27:25over 30% of our landmass is already

00:27:51crying out to the federal government of Nigeria,

00:28:05cry, declare a national ecological
00:28:09emergency on anambrast state, come to
00:28:13our rescue before our land is wiped out the map
