00:27:14A NATO fighter jet has shot down a drone in Lithuania's
00:27:17airspace. This is confirmed by the country's president on X. It is now
00:27:21unclear where the drone, of which we see fragments here,
00:27:24comes from. But Lithuania's president writes that, and I quote, in
00:27:28light of Russia's escalating aggression against Ukraine, such
00:27:32preparedness is of crucial importance for our
00:27:35region.
00:27:37Two 16-year-old boys have been charged with the murder of a 25-year-old who died after a
00:27:41stabbing in Tilst on May 16th. This
00:27:44is announced by the prosecution at East Jutland police. Already,
00:27:48four other young men are imprisoned in the case. And the two 16-year-olds
00:27:51will appear in court this morning in Aarhus.
00:27:54The US Supreme Court rejects Trump's
00:27:58attempt to tighten rules for mail-in ballots. Trump signed
00:28:02last year a decree that, among other things, required that
00:28:04ballots only be sent to voters who were on special
00:28:08lists of mail-in voters in the individual
00:28:11states. At the same time, the president wanted envelopes to be equipped

00:28:30Two out of three children and young people aged 9 to 17 have in the past year been
00:28:33exposed to digital violations or other
00:28:36unpleasant experiences online in Denmark. This is shown by a new
00:28:40survey from Save the Children and TrygFonden, which maps
00:28:43the extent of 12 different forms of digital
00:28:46violations. Most often, it's on Snapchat, where
00:28:50random people add me, and sometimes I say yes to see if it's someone I
00:28:53know, and then it just ends with them sending nude pictures and all sorts of things. There are also just
00:28:57many who have contacted me, and then it's also just videos of dead animals
00:29:01and car accidents and stuff. 'I was contacted by some of my
00:29:04friends' friends, uhm, and then they started
00:29:07writing a lot of unpleasant things, and like, I didn't
00:29:11know them, so I didn't really know what to do. The digital
00:29:15violations and unpleasant online experiences range from serious
00:29:18offenses such as grooming attempts from adult strangers, to
00:29:22crude comments and harassment from peers. Save the Children has
00:29:26previously conducted similar surveys, and here the number has
00:29:29risen massively from 42% back in 2021 to now
00:29:3266% this year, and the experiences can have serious
00:29:36consequences. It shifts children and young people's
00:29:39ideas about their self-worth, and what others are worth. It can challenge
00:29:43their ideas about what boundaries they have, and because some of what
00:29:46the survey shows is that children increasingly consider some
00:29:50of this a condition of being online, we are actually also
00:29:54concerned about the gradual shifting of their boundaries that
00:29:57is associated with it. Save the Children
00:30:00recommends parents ensure that their children do not
00:30:03get their first smartphone before they are 13 years old, but the biggest
00:30:07responsibility lies with the tech giants, it
00:30:09says. The tech giants must stop
00:30:13their addiction-creating behavioral design, their
00:30:16retention mechanisms, they must stop harvesting data from children
00:30:19under 18. We need real age verification so we
00:30:23actually know how old the children are on the platforms,
00:30:26uh, fundamentally they must take responsibility for the content that
00:30:30is on their platform, and they must ensure that they do not provide
00:30:34dangerous products to children, and we would have liked to have
00:30:37spoken with the tech giants, but it has not been possible for Snapchat or Roblox to answer
00:30:41our questions, while TikTok has not been available for
00:30:44an interview. Meta refers to Instagram's new
00:30:47team profiles, which set limits on who can
00:30:50contact them and what content they can access.
00:30:53Minister for Digitalization Kristina Ehlers has not been available for an
00:30:57interview, but writes to us that the survey confirms her belief that
00:31:00the tech giants are not taking their responsibility seriously. Therefore, I am also
00:31:04glad that we are now introducing an age.
