00:10:10Brooks, you're a business owner, you've got..." great business in your pub, but obviously
00:10:13it's it's been tricky, it's very tricky and
00:10:17uh the last chancelor Rachel Reeves made it almost
00:10:20impossible, her first two budgets added around 30,000 to...
00:10:25yearly costs, wow, that's you know thousands and thousands of extra
00:10:29pints year that I have to sell uh, I think we've got the highest tax
00:10:33burden in almost 90 years right now,
00:10:36services are the worst they've ever been, what are we getting
00:10:39back for our hard work and the risk of me putting my
00:10:43house on the line with my pub lease and most
00:10:46businesses uh you have to give guarantee mine is my
00:10:49house so I'm working for basically the government a
00:10:53£5.50 p. £230 goes to the government,
00:10:5720p roughly goes to me, I've got a partner with no
00:11:01risk who takes 10 times what I take, how is that
00:11:05fair, and they're driving people out, I know so many
00:11:09that say to me, we're not thinking of leaving yet, but we're putting it in place so
00:11:13if we have to, if it gets any worse we can go,
00:11:17and I've got to say I'm thinking the same thing, I do not want to bring up my
00:11:20kids a place where
00:11:22you know my business is getting taxed and...
00:11:25of of money, but the crime on the streets is out of control, it's not
00:11:29safe, so what are we getting back? and so many brits are thinking
00:11:33that um, and I cannot see it getting better with this budget. I think they're going to come
00:11:37even more uh tax from businessmen and you're going to see
00:11:41more job losses. 150,00 lost their jobs in hospitality
00:11:44because of Rachel Reeves and she was warned about it and she just
00:11:48ignored us, because
00:11:49they haven't got clue, Bill Rammel, they haven't got clue, have they? Well, let's look
00:11:53at the reality. and it's a challenging situation, particularly
00:11:57with the war uh in Iran, affecting
00:12:01um prices, affecting the economy, but if you compare like for like
00:12:05our growth rate is the highest in the G7 uh in the first nine months of
00:12:09this year uh, there are challenges yes, but I think what people want,
00:12:13and labor is not anti-business, we want people to succeed, but
00:12:17what we want is fairness, um, I, I think, and I think your
00:12:21idea that I think Berner may be tempted to go for early.
00:12:25election, but the idea he go for that early general election and
00:12:29commit to raising taxes on ordinary people, I think is for the
00:12:33birds. um, you know, when you say fairness,
00:12:37what do you mean? okay, uh, an example, and I just read
00:12:40report before coming in here this evening, a submission has gone in to John
00:12:44Healey to the treasury um, suggesting that you
00:12:48equalize capital gains tax, and bearing in mind that Nigel
00:12:52Lawson in thatcher's government in the 80s actually... equalized
00:12:55capital gains tax with income tax because at the moment the system
00:12:59is biased against working people in favor of people with assets and
00:13:03in return for that you raise you raise the tax threshholds
00:13:07effectively cutting tax for the vast majority of people not for the people with the
00:13:11assets but but when you have an asset so for example let's let's take
00:13:14£1200 i have £12,00 pound h 1200 pounds i put it a high interest account
00:13:185% interest account 1200 pound remains 12,00 pounds it goes up and up and up
00:13:22as i've been promised i don't touch it i have I'm going to
00:13:26invest my £12,000 in stocks and shares or something that
00:13:29is wealth tax related, yes so maybe a
00:13:33property, just for example if you could get one £2,00 pounds, unfortunately
00:13:37for me those stocks and shares or whatever
00:13:38it is go down, I get maybe I i'm they down to being
00:13:42worth 6,00 pounds okay, I make no capital gain, I lose
00:13:466,00 pounds, but I've taken all the risk, maybe in five years that
00:13:50£12,000 just if we've got nice interest rates might be 13,000 so I've made
00:13:54a grand. "my six,
00:13:55my PS2,00 pound is 6,00 pounds, I've lost money, so surely
00:13:59I should get something for being prepared to take a risk, because because when
00:14:03I invest in that risk, that can go down as well as
00:14:07up, so it's not the same as that's why they shouldn't be
00:14:11equal, well right, if you equalize capital gains tax, it would only affect
00:14:140.4% of people in the country, yes, but that's not the point,
00:14:18no, no, no, but the point is that nurse working
00:14:22in the national health service pays a high" rate of tax
00:14:26than someone living off their assets and then selling those
00:14:31think assets, that's tax
00:14:33i don't fairness, some people on benefits make more than people at work, how is that
00:14:36fair? if you're talking about fairness then i would hope the party will look at that,
00:14:40alice, yeah, absolutely, mean they use these slogans like fairness and
00:14:44hope, but the system currently is so bitterly unfair, the fact is
00:14:48young professional starting my career, i know that you know if i am
00:14:51successful i'll be soon giving nearly half my income to the state.
00:14:55"and when you look at that state and the way it's allocating capital, whether it's to
00:14:59net zero or to you, as as you said, like we have a
00:15:03bloated welfare state um, which is just a complete
00:15:06waste of everyone's of everyone's money at the minute, it's awful, and they're
00:15:10not actually fixing any the root issues, no, so that is deeply
00:15:14unfair, it's it's politics of envy, like what they did with the private
00:15:18schools, hardly any net gain if any at all, we've seen schools and
00:15:21businesses close down because of it, exactly they'. that the
00:15:25farmers really no net game, they calls themselves murders
00:15:29labor for that, and there's there's talk that they might have to
00:15:32use, who was deciding to do these really childish
00:15:36punishable things? for not a
00:15:39lot from it, so why do they do
00:15:42it? so when
00:15:43they talk about fairness, as you say, some people in this country are
00:15:47prepared to take risks, at the moment everyone i know in
00:15:50business at my sort of level, small business is thinking, no
00:15:54chance, the risk is too high, because if it goes right, the
00:15:58labour government's going to take half of your money if not more, and if it goes
00:16:02wrong we're going to lose our house,
00:16:04so so many people if
00:16:06you put
00:16:08in in front them would normally take it under labor are not so
00:16:12our economy is just going to go for cliff and you might say we're with the
00:16:15highest growth in the g7 what's the growth
00:16:19bill it's about 0.7% pathetic yeah
00:16:23but but that's that's that's the global economy you can't you
00:16:26can't work and live
00:16:29with everything when i filled
00:16:33up my car with petrol today it was 178 liter.

00:16:41big impact on all of us, but she could reduce remove VAT or
00:16:45something, she's done nothing to help, in fact the government benefits when the prices

00:17:23I think no but I think you are going to see some moves on that
00:17:26front and and you know overall there've been certainly since Burnman's been prime minister there's been
00:17:30other moves to support people from the cost of living
00:17:34um but there are big challenges there and look. 'It doesn't tend to
00:17:38support anybody who's got something though, so if you've got a business, if you've got
00:17:42this or you've got that, they say, oh, you don't need any help, which is going to help the people
00:17:46on welfare, those poor people, we're going to help the people, it's not people on welfare, it's
00:17:49people working damned hard who are going out to work
00:17:53five days a week and then finding that they're paying
00:17:57relatively higher taxes than people who are earning money
00:18:01off of assets, I i think the vast majority of people don't see that as being
00:18:05fair, imagine how they feel when they know that the woman'. the road with six
00:18:08kids, doesn't want to work, could work, doesn't want to work, he's getting more money
00:18:12than them through benefits, that's how people are feeling, you
00:18:16are, you are the party the sherkers and not the workers and
00:18:20that that's an empty slogan, adam, we want, we want
00:18:24genuine welfare reform with incentives to get people back
00:18:27to work, can i just say it's just as empty of growth in every post code, hoping every heart, in fact
00:18:31i think that's empties, now i don't think we should underestimate how
00:18:35disincentivized everyone is,
00:18:46he ridiculous, left,
00:18:46no um, wonder or if you're a young professional and you just see the future is pretty
00:18:50bleak, and if you're on welfare similarly, why would you work
00:18:54if you're being paid so much, are you tempted to go to Australia or any of those other
00:18:58lovely places? you know, I'm I'm committed to
00:19:02England, but I have to say I do look over at the United States and I see how much growth they
00:19:06have in their economy. 'I do see how dire the situation here and I think
00:19:10that is something that often I often think about, we need to pursue a growth agenda and that
00:19:14really means cutting taxes, can you not see that so far we've not really
00:19:17heard much about growth, we hear much of we hear tax,
00:19:21mansion tax now is another one, bringing down the price to 1.5
00:19:25million potentially in this year they thought it was going to be 2 million that you'd be taxed the
00:19:28threshold - where's the growth, well I've just made
00:19:32the point that
00:19:33you know we we've we've got the highest in the G7 and that's the like for'.
00:19:37comparison, yeah, yeah, but we
00:19:41need right, we need to go further, so for example,
00:19:45and the plans are in place, but deregulation the
00:19:49planning system, so that we drive house building that can material
00:19:53impact on growth rates and we need other measures like that, and the
00:19:56government came in with agenda of doing those things to
00:19:59drive them forward, who's going to build those houses, bill, i don't think there's a
00:20:03shortage of builders, who's going to build the houses that labor are promising to build?
00:20:07um, we we need to uh equip people and train
00:20:11people to take on those jobs, how long will that take, going
00:20:15to take a full, it's going to take a full parliament. the idea that reforming the planning
00:20:18legislation is going to actually drive any growth in our economy is just not true. what we
00:20:22really need to be doing is incentivizing investment in this country, and that is
00:20:26going to be predominantly from people who have the money. we're living a global economy
00:20:30with people who are enormously rich and we want them to come and
00:20:34invest here in our businesses, we want them to bring their assets here to... bank in
00:20:38Britain, but they're all leaving because of a wealth tax, we can't have
00:20:41socialist, they're not leaving, well lot them are leaving and and what happens when they do leave is
00:20:45the tax burden falls on the middle and the working class, so we now have to make
00:20:49up the 30'. million that we've lost uh due to um the
00:20:53government scaring the wealthy people away, but hey ho, you could

00:26:25former labour leader, Lord Kinnek is calling for compulsory voting in the
00:26:29UK. he says that it could strengthen democracy and backle
00:26:32low turnout. Lord Kinnek and former home secretary Lord
00:26:36Blunket are backing an amendment to the representation the people
00:26:39bill. The proposal would reportedly introduce a
00:26:4310-pound fine for those who failed to vote with exemptions
00:26:47for some people. Meanwhile, Australia has had compulsory voting at
00:26:51federal elections since 1924. Eligible citizens who
00:26:55failed to vote without valid reason can face a $20
00:26:59penalty, which is around £14. Well now. by
00:27:02political analyst, consultant Andrew Wilsom and labor peer
00:27:06Lord George Foulks. All right, welcome. Let's talk, let's
00:27:10start with you, Andrew. What do what do you make of
00:27:14this? Uh, good evening. Um, there's
00:27:18a fundamental irony actually in this, because the highest
00:27:22turn out of any electoral event in my lifetime was in
00:27:251992 election, and John Major got more votes than any prime
00:27:29minister in history, and that's how much people did not want. New Kinnek to be
00:27:33prime minister um so I think you should be somewhat careful about
00:27:37what he issues for. Fundamentally though,
00:27:40it is liberal. That little word compulsory
00:27:43means I want to use the power the states to compel
00:27:47somebody else to behave in the way that I think they should. And
00:27:50that's, there's not many things under British law where that's the case, and I
00:27:54think we should be very wary about introducing another one. Well, I think
00:27:58I'm just thinking about what you said about Lord King, well if he lost with the...
00:28:02is turn out then you did want him to not want compulsory voting,
00:28:06suppose, but he does, so he's even thinking that even though there's a massive
00:28:10turn out, you'd rather that everybody got on with it. okay uh,
00:28:14lord george, what do you think on this? hello,
00:28:18it's a good to be back on reform tv,
00:28:21um, i'm in, i'm move, i'm supporting the
00:28:25amendment which is being put forward by varaness royal, neil kinek,
00:28:29david blanket and myself uh, because compulsory
00:28:33voting has been so successful in Australia, the turnout
00:28:37in Britain now is under 60%, which means
00:28:41that 40% of registered voters are not having their
00:28:45interests represented in parliament, in Australia it's
00:28:49over 90%, and that means what's
00:28:52happening at the moment is that it's the older people, the richer
00:28:56people and those who own their own houses who tend to
00:28:59vote, poorer people, younger people, renters
00:29:03are less likely to vote and that means the interests the richer,
00:29:07older, people like me in fact are better
00:29:11represented than the younger uh people who rent their
00:29:15own houses, so I think it's a move in the right
00:29:18direction, the representation the people bill is now in the house of lords
00:29:22and our amendment will be discussed at the committee stages
00:29:25and report stage in the next few weeks, well if
00:29:29we have reform TV, but I agree with you, I agree with you George.
00:29:33I don't know why you're calling this reform TV, you now you don't know what people vote, but
00:29:37I think it's funny George, I agree with you, I was
00:29:40listening to you and your two colleagues discussing
00:29:44things with Bill,

00:30:34they do it, it's also their right to not vote if they choose to, well
00:30:38it's their right to not vote for anyone as inspore their ballot
00:30:41paper, but the right why why should
00:30:45they have to, if no one inspires them to come out, why do they still have to come and why doesn't
00:30:49their absence count? nobody's preventing these people from
00:30:53voting, excuse me, george, um, the 2019
00:30:57election, there was the 2019 election there was a 72% turnout,
00:31:00people were inspired to come out because
00:31:03the the vote meant something, the 2024 election, people were so
00:31:06uninspired by the choice on offer, they stayed away, and largely it
00:31:10was the conservative vote, conservative vote half, half went other
00:31:14parties. half stayed at home,
00:31:17that is their choice, if you're a conservative voter and you couldn't bring yourself
00:31:21to back the the can the conservative government, why should you be
00:31:25compelled to go out and vote for someday as uninspiring as Kier Starmer? well,
00:31:29but but you could you could spoil your ballet pay, but you'd still go out, why should you have
00:31:33to, let's get George on, let's see what George thinks,

00:31:38have had checked what we were proposing before he came on television, we're
00:31:41proposing that there should be an opportunity to say, none

00:32:23convinced by the need to compell someone to vote, but mean you talk
00:32:27about a 10 pound fine, what's the penalty if i say i
00:32:31am not paying that fine and out of
00:32:33principle? well, will, well also
00:32:37saying that if you're if you're ill if you're not able to
00:32:40attend, for a good, wait a minute, for a good reason you can
00:32:44put that forward. "if you haven't got a good reason, then you should be fine,
00:32:48that is the that is the pressure to make sure that people turn
00:32:52out, just
00:32:53as just as
00:32:54the same, it's a civic duty, just as wearing seat
00:32:58belt is in your own interest, voting is a civic duty and
00:33:02it's in your interest to be properly represented and for your
00:33:05interest to be properly represented in parliament, it might not
00:33:09be, my my vote might not make any difference, i could be a safe seat and i
00:33:13could say it doesn't matter to me that i i want to to not vote, i could
00:33:17not,
00:33:17you know, um, but you can still put none
00:33:21of that my absence of vote can just be counted as well
00:33:25as none the above. why should you compel me? because
00:33:29if i if i say, not only am I not voting, refuse to pay your fine
00:33:33for compulsion. the way that ends, ultimately, as it does in
00:33:36australia, is you get charged second time by the court, and if you don't
00:33:40pay that second charge, you can end up in prison. that's good, because the
00:33:43bbc. this similar
00:33:45is thing, isn't it? if you don't pay that, jail, you want to
00:33:49introduce a rule that says if some somebody doesn't go
00:33:52and vote, it could end up in prison, i think that's a liberal, it's
00:33:56working very well in Australia, have you have you looked, have you studied how what

00:34:00and it's in belgium, it's in south american countries as well, it's
00:34:04spreading around the world, all right, you see, you see it works well, but on what
00:34:08metric, turn out in itself is not a metric, well

00:34:19metric that you work out, whether it's effective, whether people are turning out, if they're turning out

00:39:11shocking uptick in the food of in the flood, sorry, not on the
00:39:15food, if only in the flood of illegal knives and weapons being seized
00:39:19at our borders, including frightening zombie knives, I mean
00:39:22honestly, seriously, and machettes, how can that even be
00:39:26anyway at one point? people could this was almost legal, so the fact that these
00:39:30were even available that you could buy them is just a shocker, but according to new data in
00:39:34the sun newspaper, and in the first half of this year
00:39:362,729 illegal knives were seized by
00:39:40border force officers, that is compared to
00:39:422,912 for the whole of
00:39:462025. well, the government says that it is cracking down
00:39:50on this issue. this government is committed to halving knife crime
00:39:53within a decade and progress has been made this.
00:39:58year, we have taken 60,00 knives off of our streets,
00:40:02banned zombie knives and ninja swords and seen a
00:40:055% fall in all knife crimes, including an
00:40:0918% reduction in homicides by
00:40:12knife. is it that potential
00:40:16crime breaking into the UK have too little to fear the
00:40:20consequences the smuggling these dangerous weapons? well
00:40:24let's get the thought of my panel. businessman and activist Adam brooks politic. commentator
00:40:28Alice Grant and former labor minister Bill Rammel. All right, Alice,
00:40:32I'm going to start with you. I was just thinking, was it Henry Novak who was
00:40:35killed by one these like seek daggers? He was, yeah, these people though,
00:40:39I think were uh, they lived in the UK. Yeah, no, of course, but I was just thinking like, we
00:40:43do have such crisis um, with knife crime and with these horrible
00:40:47attacks and just looking at those like horrible- looking
00:40:51knives being seized at our borders. I mean, is it any surprise that
00:40:55this kind of thing is rife on our streets and? and is and is
00:40:58killing how many young people every single day,
00:41:02and I think honestly I don't know, I don't know how it is that we're not
00:41:06immediately sending back people who who dare to come to our
00:41:10nation carrying and wielding weapons which are evidently only
00:41:14going to be used to harm another human being immediately that should be
00:41:18massive red flag, you're not loud on our soil, what does that say about the person
00:41:22carrying it, unbelievable, well I think there's actually been a
00:41:25focus through borderfield. force on increasing seizures
00:41:29uh for people for people coming through with knives,
00:41:33and you know that that's a good thing, we should be getting those
00:41:37knives, um,
00:41:40laws uh on knife sales, the banning of zombie
00:41:43knives - and machettes uh good
00:41:47things and
00:41:49you know any knife crime is huge concern,
00:41:53but let's look at the facts, homicides through knife
00:41:57crime were down by 14% last year, it's the lowest level for 35
00:42:00years, overall knife crime is down by 11%. it's just
00:42:04not the case that the streets are wash with
00:42:08people uh being attacked. with knives, however I still
00:42:11think one the biggest problems here is young people
00:42:15and the sense too many them have that they're actually
00:42:19safer carrying knives than if they're not, and I think we've really got to tackle that
00:42:22issue. Well, what about the criminals breaking into the UK though, because that's the
00:42:26problem is people breaking into the UK uh who we're talking about, we're not talking
00:42:30about, we've got enough knife on our streets, let's be honest from our own home grown
00:42:34criminals, but people breaking into the UK who are actually carrying
00:42:38these knives, well... 'I mean, I, I've not seen the
00:42:41evidence of of that that that these people are then allowed to carry on
00:42:45and come within the UK. If you carry, this
00:42:48is the border force, border force officers have said that actually the numbers have gone
00:42:51up for the whole of 2025, we had um
00:42:552,912 uh, so that's you know, and and before
00:42:59that it was lot less, yeah,
00:43:00and I think that I that's a concerted effort to actually increase
00:43:04seizures, um, but they're coming in buse, they're not scared the consequences, so in just the
00:43:08first half of this year, you've already'. that number, homicides the lowest
00:43:12level with knives for 35 years our streets
00:43:16are not a wash with crimes,
00:43:18i just say i'm an anti-knife crime campaigner, that is a trend that is being seen
00:43:22across the western world, so for whatever reason
00:43:26bill um killing like that is on the decrease,
00:43:29lost my father to a machiti gang 35 years ago, this is not a
00:43:33new thing, but what is new thing now is that youngsters don't
00:43:37just carry little knives when we was young. admit carried little pocket
00:43:41knives and things like that, we we are seeing kids
00:43:44carrying weapons of war and these zombie knives these machetes
00:43:48are weapons of war, you can take someone's hand off their head off,
00:43:52so this is totally different problem now, what we have here is
00:43:56labor government that has relaxed sentencing laws and
00:44:00given more power to judges to suspend sentences
00:44:04up to three years, now if you get 12 months you're not going to prison, but these
00:44:08judges now i know of... places where men have been caught with zombie
00:44:11knives two or three times on our streets and they have got suspended
00:44:15sentences, but yet again if someone says something a little bit too
00:44:19fruity online, they're remanded and they're put in prison, that
00:44:23prison place is found for those people, so what we have there is lack
00:44:26of deterrance, and again the youth on our streets
00:44:30know they're very, they're not likely to be stop and
00:44:33searched because that is down, and if they do get caught, they're not going to
00:44:37go to prison, so you have now... 16 17-year-old
00:44:41boys and I know that because I've got a 17-year-old boy and he tells me
00:44:45normal kids that are not gangsters, they're not criminals, but they carry
00:44:49knife because everyone else is carrying one, so until we break that
00:44:53cycle and we start saying right, if you want to carry knife and you're under
00:44:5618, you're going to a youth detention center for three years, if
00:45:00you're over 18 you're getting five years mandatory in prison, until
00:45:04we do that knife crime is not going to go away and bill says
00:45:08oh knife crime is falling. 'I would suggest the research that
00:45:12I do and the activism I do and and going round uh with
00:45:15my knife crime uh stuff is that more people than
00:45:19ever are carrying knives, they're just not getting caught.
00:45:23Well now that you raised such an interesting point earlier that these people who are bringing these zombie
00:45:27knifes and these like awful-ling machietties obviously think that
00:45:31they come here and they can get away with it and thank goodness that border force
00:45:34has upped the amount of seizures that they're doing because the idea that
00:45:38people are coming to'. country wielding weapons that could
00:45:42literally
00:45:43you know hack off your head and your limbs is just like what
00:45:47why? i want to know exactly what is in their mind thinking that they
00:45:51can come here with these like weapons of war because that to me is very worrying,
00:45:55i can never forget that scene, i think it was at noting hill carnival uh, i
00:45:59think
00:45:59it was a couple of years ago where there were like five or six kids wielding these zombies just
00:46:03running through the street and
00:46:04it was like running around
00:46:08just with the zombie n' this is if the pirates, i'm
00:46:12like, what? because he's
00:46:13not deter, zombie knives have been banned as as have
00:46:17machites, um, but you, adam
00:46:20says that we're reducing sentencing, this government actually brought
00:46:24in new offence of carrying
00:46:27knife with intent to harm, and that carries a prison sentence
00:46:31of up to seven years, but the judges are not putting people away, i know
00:46:35of many cases, do this week in week out, i work with charities for
00:46:39knife. and they're not getting sentenced, there
00:46:42is no deterrent. well, a home office spokes person has said that since the
00:46:46general election, border force colleagues alone have seized more than
00:46:497,300 dangerous. UK ports while
00:46:5363,000 knives have been removed from our

00:50:27the disappearance of Madeline Macan. Could this lead to a
00:50:31conviction and bring to an end one the world's
00:50:35biggest unsolved crimes? So
00:50:39last year that doc showed us more about the prime suspect in the
00:50:43case, convicted, rapist and pedophiled Christian
00:50:46Brockner, and a shocking revelation, he has now
00:50:49admitted that he was just 150 yards from her. day
00:50:53apartment on the night that she disappeared, we're joining me now
00:50:57is a senior global reporter for the daily mail, nick pizza who has
00:51:00reported extensively on the disappearance of Madeline Macan, so
00:51:04Nick, now talk to me about um your reporting bause I know you've
00:51:08followed this case and you've reported about it as it's
00:51:12been you know literally as soon as it happened type thing,
00:51:15yeah yeah well i i was at those court
00:51:19cases uh where i two three years now ago involving
00:51:22Christian Brookner, you saw in the opening sequences
00:51:26there of your of your footage and that's where he was acquitted of some
00:51:30unrelated sex offenses that took place allegedly
00:51:34in Portugal, not not a million miles away from where
00:51:37Madeline Macan vanished in the town of Pride Lusche in
00:51:41in 2007 and and the yeah this is the latest
00:51:45a long line of development that have basically sprung from the fact that in
00:51:492020
00:51:532020 Christian Brookner was named as the prime suspect
00:51:57by German police as the man who they say in their words was
00:52:00responsible for the abduction and murder of
00:52:04mad and Since then we've had lots of stories coming out about
00:52:07him, about his background, we know he's a convicted pedophile, we know he's a
00:52:11convicted drug dealer, he's a convicted rapist as well, but so
00:52:15far he's maintained a relative silence, I mean I've asked
00:52:19him as well many times, where were you, we entered into a correspondence when he
00:52:23was in jail serving time for rape and he he told me in his letters
00:52:27that he had nothing to do with it and the police for out to get him and it was all attempt
00:52:31by the prosecutors to frame him, and now we have this quite sensation.
00:52:35revelation from him to colleagues on the mail on Sunday saying that he
00:52:39was 150 yards away from the Ocean Club
00:52:42apartments where Madeline disappeared from, which is actually quite a significant change
00:52:46in the story that he so far told us, because before, as I say, he's refused to
00:52:50say anything at all about it, well why would he tell them that
00:52:53if he, it just seems he knows

00:55:29and as we progress through the early hours the morning there'll also be some rain and drizzle
00:55:33around. But to this... south of this, it should remain mostly dry, we'll see
00:55:37quite a few clear spells across England and Wales, so any rural spots,
00:55:41temperatures could get down to between two to 4 degre
00:55:44celsius. now to start off the day across parts
00:55:48the north, rather cloudy and quite damp at times, particularly across any western
00:55:52hills where there could be some quite persistent rain and drizzle, also quite
00:55:56cloudy and gray start towards northern islands, some spots of rain and drizzle and
00:56:00places also towards northwest England, a bit of cloud across western
00:56:04areas of Wales. southwest England, but actually for many areas of England and Wales
00:56:08it should be quite a dry and bright start and it should warm up quite quickly through
00:56:12the course the morning after that chilly start, but towards the north
00:56:15it's likely to remain quite cloudy, still spells of rain and drizzling places,
00:56:19especially across western hills of Scotland, perhaps a bit cloudier at
00:56:23times across Wales and southwest England, northern England also the best the
00:56:27sunshine likely across the far south and southeast, but for all it is
00:56:31going to be a warm day, temperatures widely in the low to mid-20s and
00:56:35feeling quite humid towards the end the day as well. now Tuesday is
00:56:38very similar picture towards the north, still often quite cloudy with some rain and
00:56:42drizzle, the best the sunshine across the far south. some of this rain
00:56:46could turn a little bit heavy as well as it slowly sinks its way southeastwards

01:06:09deported from the UK are still living in this country
01:06:12five years after they were released from prison. An
01:06:16investigation by the Sun newspaper has exposed a shocking truth:
01:06:20the number of overseas offenders still in Britain, more than half
01:06:24decade after they should have been removed has doubled in just
01:06:27four years. hundreds of'. suspected to have exploited
01:06:31delays in their deportations by putting down roots in the
01:06:35UK, which makes it much more difficult for them to be removed
01:06:39after marrying or having children born and brought up in
01:06:42Britain. Justice minister Alex Norris thinks otherwise, if
01:06:46you abuse Britain's hospitality, we will permanently remove
01:06:49you. Hang on, do you remember the
01:06:53Albanian criminal Clevis Discher, who appealed his
01:06:57deportation by claiming it would be... duly
01:07:00harsh as his son did not eat the type of chicken nuggets
01:07:04available abroad. what a joke. or what about the
01:07:08jamaican drug dealer who beat his partner had avoided
01:07:11deportation after a judge ruled that he should stay because his gender
01:07:15questioning daughter only speaks to him and the
01:07:19Jamaican man who raped a sleeping woman, he couldn't be
01:07:22deported because he's bisexual, even though he was branded a danger to
01:07:26the community by the home office. and what about? Pakistani
01:07:30grooming gang ring leader. Pakistan
01:07:34originally refused to take him back on the grounds that he is longer
01:07:37no citizen the country after ripping up his passport. Then
01:07:41t secretary Ed Miller Band put his
01:07:44foot down and Pakistan doubled down and said we
01:07:48currently do not have any legislation or formal mechanism
01:07:52under which we can take him back and what about this
01:07:55guy?

01:08:25entirety the British public. to me, this government
01:08:28consistently prioritizes the rights of foreign criminals over the rights of British
01:08:32citizens to be protected from them. didn't need investigation
01:08:36to tell me that. well, let's get the thoughts of my panel. businessman and activist
01:08:40Adam brooks, political com... to Alice Grant and former
01:08:44labour minister Bill Ramel. Alice Grant, I will come to you on
01:08:48this. It would take an enormous amount of legal reform to change
01:08:52the current system we have, which I believe is absolutely necessary in order
01:08:55to properly deport people who simply have no right to be here. Who come here
01:08:59to commit crime and then are still allowed to stay? Because the
01:09:03current status of our the legal architecture surrounding
01:09:07deportations essentially means that if you invoke any the articles the
01:09:10ECHR for example for having a... family tie or for
01:09:13you marrying someone here, whatever the reason is, and
01:09:17it can be really as silly as like a concern for private life, which includes
01:09:21mental health, whatever
01:09:22the reason can be honestly so tenuous, and yet in our
01:09:26law they are allowed to invoke these articles before a judge, and because the
01:09:30way the law has developed in this area, the extreme left-wing
01:09:34sort of um liberal approach the strasburg court, which is obviously
01:09:38the court the European convention of human rights, means that they often will get away,
01:09:42with it and meanwhile we just don't have a working legal system um
01:09:46in terms of sorting out people who just are illegally here and then
01:09:50commit more crime and what to be deported immediately honestly
01:09:53well your government have huge majority in the house of commons
01:09:57they could make changes to legislation quite easily if they
01:10:01all got together and allowed that because we're seeing people taking
01:10:05the absolute you know poop out of this country
01:10:09and and the government is doing that the asylum and immigration bill uh
01:10:13that has gone through uh tackles uh some these issues, look,
01:10:17overall deportations are up, but I acknowledge that
01:10:21there are people, and this report has highlighted 7,000
01:10:24individuals who are using the ECHR,
01:10:28eroneously to try and delay uh their deportation
01:10:32uh, there's a whole series of changes uh, for
01:10:35example refocusing article eight the ECHR
01:10:39to better prioritize the uh safe the whole
01:10:43population as against individual rights, but also
01:10:46tackling the neverending round of appeals that
01:10:50people can go through, um, so that you'll just have one appeal
01:10:54and critically you're going to have a 24 week time limit uh,
01:10:5824 weeks, yeah, yeah, yeah, compared to much, much longer at the
01:11:02moment, to do what in the 24 weeks,
01:11:04that the appeal has to be heard and
01:11:06the decision made within 24 weeks, now these changes, lot can happen
01:11:10in 24 weeks,
01:11:12half year. at the situation we inherited and it was much much longer
01:11:16than that forget about that, they had to go, the touries were useless, nobody is supporting them,
01:11:20but you have been in power now for pretty much half of what the full tenor
01:11:23could be, so we'd expect to see some sort of changes and no more hopping
01:11:27back to what you import, we can't
01:11:31hear that, huge majority, and we
01:11:35have seen changes now,
01:11:36you know, deportations are up, overall asylum
01:11:39claims are down, the small boat crossings uh are down
01:11:43significantly uh and I think the changes the number of boats or the number of
01:11:47people, the number of people down significantly in the uh
01:11:51channel migrants bill, that's a lie, 4% are ever
01:11:54deported that come across on the channel, whether it be lorries or it be
01:11:58boats, so you might be removing Brazilian bar
01:12:02workers or you know some these tire women that do do
01:12:06do the naus or maybe Australian uh that have overstayed their
01:12:09visas, but you are not deporting people that... across illegally on in the
01:12:13channel, that is a bl, but we we're significantly
01:12:16reducing the number, the numbers at the moment, Adam, are on
01:12:20track for the lowest level of boat crossings per individual that we've
01:12:24seen for over six years look at what the weather was uh for the oh
01:12:28come
01:12:29on,
01:12:32let's also look at maybe um some the improvement that the french are
01:12:36doing their side, they're actually maybe working a little bit
01:12:40towards uh the money that we give them in. some instances, that's good,
01:12:44isn't it? that's what we
01:12:44want to happen. that's good, but let's not let labour government take take
01:12:48credit for that. this is pathetically weak government when it
01:12:52comes to foreign criminals. this is the...
01:12:56Basically bunch of MPs that used to write letters and stop
01:12:59deportation flights of rapists of gangsters
01:13:03and murderers, don't show your head bill, because labor MPs
01:13:07were the largest group on that letter that was stopping deportation
01:13:11flights, so there is no will in my opinion from this labour
01:13:15government because they've already shown their cards, they've shown that they don't want these
01:13:19monsters to be deportted, look we could just ignore the
01:13:22ECHR bill, we have done when it comes to... things like prisoner voting
01:13:26rights, we've just said no, we're not doing that, and when it comes to lot these
01:13:30judgments, we could turn around and say no, we do not want this rapist or
01:13:34pedophile in our country, he's got to go back, but it would take
01:13:37political will to do that, and it would take a prime minister with set
01:13:41of um, you know what, to turn around and go, you know what, I'm going to
01:13:45put my people's rights before the rights of foreign
01:13:48criminal, and look, Donald Trump, love him or hate him, when
01:13:52he he got in, he stopped the illegal. crossings
01:13:55nearly overnight because he backed up what he
01:13:59said, the lawyer said he wasn't allowed to do it and he did it anyway, i
01:14:03want to see a prime minister, illegal migration in the states is is
01:14:06relatively the same level as in this country, that is an
01:14:10absolute l, come on, let's not try try and uh
01:14:14say that because donald trump said what he was going to do, he was voted in to
01:14:18do that and
01:14:19he stood up against the law makers, against the people that said no
01:14:23you can't do that, he said no, i'm putting people first, that is what
01:14:26if Nigel Faraj gets in, that is what people expect, they
01:14:30want the prime minister within the first 100 days to go, I'm not having this no
01:14:34more, take me to call, but I'm not having these dangers in my
01:14:37community, and we don't, we don't,
01:14:40we don't govern
01:14:41by administrative, we govern through the rule of law, and we are changing the
01:14:44law, we are changing the law, we are changing the
01:14:48laws to enable us to better be able to deport foreign
01:14:52criminals, well we should just be able to do that anyway, to foreign
01:14:55judge that has woken up at four in the morning that is maybe from I don't know
01:14:59lythuania or something knows nothing about our country to
01:15:03stamp claim through and say sorry you've
01:15:06got ECHR claims are dealt with through uh predominantly
01:15:10dealt with through the British courts so it's British judges that do
01:15:14that and that was
01:15:15that was legislated for in the early 2000s the real issue is that they have
01:15:19implement the law according to ECHR case law it's decided and the
01:15:23reason and I agree with you Adam really serious about it, we would know, because they'd
01:15:27honestly have to pull out the ESHR, and the reason why is because of course all these
01:15:30articles rely on the proportionality test, so when you're balancing
01:15:34one person's individual right against these rather wide concepts like
01:15:38national security, realistically, who is going to win in front of
01:15:42a judge, this one individual right is always going
01:15:46to, that's why the government is legislating to give greater white
01:15:50rights to public safety over individual rights in respect of
01:15:54article. clear and unambiguous, which they haven't been in
01:15:57legislation, so then does that, that sounds like we do need to leave the
01:16:00ECHR, are the labor government prepared to do that? no, how can
01:16:04we disapply it? uh, because we're
01:16:07legislating to uh rebalance the
01:16:11the um implementation of article 8 the ECHR to
01:16:15give greater weight to to public safety over individual
01:16:18rights, that was what was in uh the bill that went through
01:16:22parliament and over time that will have
01:16:24a significant impact. will you say that, but I suspect that they'll find
01:16:27another way of getting around it,
01:16:29and what about uh, who's paying for the appeals for these people? We
01:16:33are, don't we pay for them, they have legal aid, why should we pay for that? I
01:16:36think if you've been refused your asylum claim, it's now down to
01:16:40you to fund your appeal, you can't, oh we'll give you another appeal, no, no, no,
01:16:44you've failed, if you're serious, you funded yourself getting on the boat to get
01:16:48here, you should fund your own appeal, otherwise get with
01:16:52the program and get the hell out, I think there's an arguable case for that, certainly, I
01:16:55certainly think in respect of foreign criminals they should not be getting
01:16:59legal aid to fight, can you
01:17:03imagine committing a crime and then relying on the British tax payer to fund your
01:17:07appeals against our America,
01:17:10forget skin color or if I went to America and committed a
01:17:13bad crime, would they deport me? yes, I would be stuck a plane
01:17:17straight away back here, that is what we need to see in Britain,
01:17:21Britain's put first and our kids safety. put
01:17:25before some, I don't know, Nigerian rapist that has
01:17:29come here and is playing the cts, playing the system and
01:17:33using our money not to be deportted, and that is what that
01:17:37is what's got so ridiculous that the fact that you can't get
01:17:41the same sort of chicken nuggets would be a way how you'd get round it or
01:17:45yeah, but he didn't, he didn't, he didn't that that case didn't succeed, that was the
01:17:49claim that was put forward and and the courts over it, the fact,
01:17:53no,
01:17:53no, no, bill, the fact that you can even... bring such ridiculous claim and it'll be
01:17:57heard a court, yeah
01:17:57but now it's absurd on air, you just said
01:18:00that that was successful and it wasn't successful, well okay,
01:18:04but the fact that he was successful in bringing the case to a court.
01:18:08now that's ridiculous, yeah, so if I
01:18:10said nuggets, I'm actually being funded by the
01:18:14British tax payer to bring that ridiculous case, I just think it's
01:18:18important we we argue these things on the basis the facts and if you go back
01:18:22and look at what you said to camera, nana, you,
01:18:26you, you, you, you certainly argued and implied that that
01:18:29person succeeded in an appeal
01:18:32because they succeeded in making an appeal
01:18:35a
01:18:37ridiculous basis.
01:18:37we were talking, yeah, he did, they
01:18:39were able to come, they were able to actually bring the case though,
01:18:43that's ridiculous, they succeeded in being able to bring a case, that's
01:18:47ridiculous, on the basis of chicken nuggets, yeah,
01:18:51i can't even believe you're not even listening to what i'm saying, on the
01:18:55case of chicken nugget, respectfully ask you to go back and look to what you said to
01:18:59camera, look
01:18:59at that and fine, listen, if i'm a spoke, i don't have a problem with that,
01:19:03but i'm correcting myself and bringing it to you, bill, i don't have a problem with
01:19:07that I'm not perfect, but I don't understand why the
01:19:11legal system were prepared to even acknowledge case of such
01:19:15ridicule, people can make all sorts of furious claims
01:19:19and cases through the courts, that is their right, there should be
01:19:22a b that that means that that shouldn't get to call or
01:19:26that shouldn't even be accepted, so there should be certain
01:19:29criteria, do you meet it, no I don't off you go, the

01:26:3426 minutes after 10 o'clock and former Prime Minister Richi Sunak has
01:26:38spoken about what it means to be British, saying that national
01:26:41identity should not be defined by race or skin color.
01:26:45Now, Mr. Sunak said on X, if you're born and brought up
01:26:49in England and view it as your home, what are you other
01:26:53than English? In a column in the Sunday Times newspaper, he argued
01:26:57that people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds can share a common
01:27:01British identity. Mr. Sunak also discussed immigration
01:27:05and integration, saying that Britain needs a stronger sense of shared
01:27:09identity, but what what makes Britishness?
01:27:12All right, let's get the thoughts of my panel, businessman and activist Adam Brooks,
01:27:16political commentator Alice Grant, and former labor minister Bill.
01:27:20Ramel: All right, Adam, I'm going to come to you. Richy Sunak has talked about
01:27:23Britishness, but then he said that he talked about being
01:27:27English. Yeah, okay, so let's start with Britishness and whether you see
01:27:31there's a differential between the two, yeah, I see a big difference between being
01:27:34a uh British and English, I see Ricky, Rishi
01:27:38Sunak as British, he was born here, um, he
01:27:42lives how we live, the same values and
01:27:45morals, um, but then I would say if I went to maybe
01:27:48Japan and... "me and my wife had a child in Japan,
01:27:52would my kid be Japanese down the line? no, no, they
01:27:56wouldn't. i wouldn't class my son or my daughter as
01:28:00Japanese if I went, why? cuz they don't look Japanese is what you
01:28:04say, I think in when you describe English, I think
01:28:08we're thinking of of a country that was
01:28:1099.9% white up until maybe 670 years
01:28:14ago, I think of Englishness as maybe an
01:28:17ethnicity, I think is British..." uh is different to
01:28:21that um can you be English and not be
01:28:25be of that ethnicity though, but then there there can be tell
01:28:27different you
01:28:29so let now so this is where I'll level this up if say... two
01:28:33Polish people or two Italians come come to England and had a
01:28:37child um would I think
01:28:40that would I think that their child is English no I wouldn't because I think
01:28:44English is an ethnicity uh would I say that their child is
01:28:48British yes I would do I think we sunak is British yes I
01:28:52am so
01:28:52I think we're talking of two two different things there so what if you
01:28:56uh but you were born in England so you felt that you
01:29:00were English because you were born in England. not because you believe that you were
01:29:04ethnically English, cuz there are, I believe there are actually two
01:29:07definitions of that, cuz you could be born in Scotland and be Scottish,
01:29:11yes, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you have set
01:29:15color to be Scottish because you were born in Scotland, but you can
01:29:19have an English ethnicity as well, I don't see what the problem
01:29:23of that would be. Alice, so for example, my mom is
01:29:26um, Peruvian, and my dad is English,
01:29:29British, and I personally would... obviously just identify
01:29:33is English and British, I've grow up in my whole life. I also have,
01:29:37as you mentioned, that aspect of you technically speaking, the ethnicity,
01:29:41but that's not really why, like I don't see that in terms of um,
01:29:45when I identifies English, like the main reason, the main reason is
01:29:49because I have grown up on this land, I love this country,
01:29:52I have its values, I'm ridiculously English when I go abroad and
01:29:56it's very clear where I come from, and I think honestly
01:30:00identity is ultimately very personal. 'I would never want to enforce identity
01:30:04anyone and
01:30:05you know someone could grow up here and not feel
01:30:09British and English and I think often sadly we do see that rejection because there is just
01:30:13not enough patriotism anyway, but when it comes to when it comes to identity I
01:30:17think that
01:30:18you know if you've grown up here and if you share our values you are British
01:30:22so is Alice English then because she's
01:30:25half so by my
01:30:27definition by my definition of Englishness how I've
01:30:31always thought of.' English is no, are you British?
01:30:35Yes,
01:30:37um, I said English, I'm absolutely English, my dad's English, I've grown up here my whole
01:30:41life, absolutely, I'm 100% an English
01:30:44woman, I'll extend it,
01:30:47my wife's
01:30:49Swedish, um, she lived here for over 40 years, my my two kids were
01:30:53bron born here, are they not English, but are they not
01:30:56English, well half, I haven't, I haven't really made my my mind up on that, so you
01:31:00put me on YouTube. my my point is is
01:31:04even by even by law, even by law in
01:31:08Nigeria, if me and my wife went to Nigeria, settled there in
01:31:1220 years time, had a child, Nigeria would not recognize
01:31:15that child as Nigerian, they wouldn't under their law, I checked it
01:31:19before we came on, they would not, they would not recognize,
01:31:23if they have, I didn't know they have a law, but if they have a law then that's different, if their law
01:31:27says that then we'll go by the law, but we don't have that law, but then if you go and ask the
01:31:31majority of Nigeria. if
01:31:34you me and my wife's child there all our lives was Nigerian, I would say that
01:31:38the majority of Nigerians would say no,
01:31:41I don't know
01:31:42about that because I
01:31:43just I don't know about that buse very good friend of mine, she's white, she's african, she was
01:31:47born in Kenya, she's way more African than I could ever be, she knows more about
01:31:51Africa, I don't know anything very much about it, I was born in Newcastle, I'm a

01:31:58born in England, um, I am British because...
01:32:02"hold a British passport, I was born I lived here all my life, I've never, I lived in America for a
01:32:06little bit, but I'm still British with the British passport, also English, but I was born
01:32:10in England, so I see myself as English, but
01:32:13not not ethically English, I don't think I might,
01:32:16yeah, but my my definition of English has always been of ethnicity,
01:32:20because it's England has was 99.9% white and
01:32:24you know up until very modern history of immigrants, yeah,
01:32:28you go back to me you are British, but I don't care what I am.
01:32:33buse i take the name british and i accept that some people might not
01:32:37think that i'm not ethnically english i don't think i am not
01:32:40happy with made the same point that if you
01:32:44was of italian parents that have moved here i wouldn't have
01:32:48thought that you was english but you could walk out what alice

01:32:56with me with the heart so confusing if you had dna test adam oh

01:33:03um, i've got i've got a tree, family tree, so my dad's
01:33:07side goes back many generations uh of english, but i'm obviously
01:33:11from the east end, so we we're made up of everything,
01:33:14you know, i think there's Romany gypsy in me three or four generations back,
01:33:18there's irish, there's so much unmade up, but you're arguing against
01:33:22yourself, no, no, but this is multi-generational bill, so how many, how many
01:33:25generations do we go back, exactly that, so this is where this is such
01:33:29a, this is such a messy uh, debate on that and that's
01:33:33why I've always said I sort of think englishness is
01:33:36ethnicity, British is not, I don't
01:33:40think I never thought I'd say that I
01:33:43think... on the money today and there's you
01:33:47know there's a really worrying trend in politics
01:33:51with people aligning ethnicity with
01:33:54nationality and color of skin and nationality and it's wrong. i
01:33:57think the overarching worry here is just that you can determine what
01:34:01someone else's identity is yourself and we've been looking at this as like such a
01:34:05subjective approach like oh well i don't think you would be English. well you know what it's
01:34:09ultimately about what that person identifies as because i'm proud to be
01:34:12English and no one can take that away from me. no matter what someone else might
01:34:16think about my my ethnic background and that's just the way it is and if
01:34:20Nanna you said I'm English then go you nana and I'm not
01:34:24ethnically English I'm quite happy to be ethnically African although I don't know how
01:34:27much of African I've got and what from what parts of Africa but I don't
01:34:31really care I've turned to but with back to you
01:34:34quickly um if you're saying it goes back generations we could go back
01:34:38to the beginning when uh mankind came from Africa which most scientists would
01:34:42agree with which means that you adam are africa. Yeah,

01:40:24music concert, I don't
01:40:25want to hear about politics, the organizers. didn't like it, so then he was cancelled from the
01:40:29concert, then all the backup artists then decided, all the other artists who
01:40:33were - decided they didn't want to work with it either, so Ed
01:40:37is now having his concert all by himself, and yeah, there's not
01:40:40many uh artists that could do a concert all by themselves, but this
01:40:44man is, you know, is such a generational
01:40:48talent, is an unbelievable uh artist, and I feel
01:40:52so sorry for him, he's being bullied by this pro Palestine
01:40:56mob that if you don't... say what they demand
01:40:59you to say, then they will try and cancel you and say you're the worst
01:41:03person in the world. well, I've got friends in in in that world who say
01:41:06he is one the nicest men you could ever ever meet, there's not a bad

01:41:35I do believe in free speech, I also believe that are people really feel like
01:41:39you, they have issue to speak about, they will speak about it, you can't control what people are going to
01:41:43say, if it was a term in in Mackham's contract that he could
01:41:46absolutely not say that, and if he was, he could expect to be fired,
01:41:50then of course I understand, but the reality is is that they came down so harshly on
01:41:54him, and we know that this movement is backed up by people who... are
01:41:57radicalized, so
01:41:59you know, in reality I don't think that it's the palestine, pro-
01:42:02palestine um people who are to blame, but really the organizers, honestly that's
01:42:06just, well, perhaps they didn't want their concept politicized and
01:42:10maybe they were Jewish, and they wouldn't have that, I mean they wouldn't a lot of people
01:42:14feel that this is a little bit extreme, the whole sort of movement, the
01:42:17whole you know all dates back really far back, but let's go from
01:42:21October the 7th, I mean, and this is where this full movement started to
01:42:25become reignited and... stance
01:42:28in itself, but the political stance, I don't think they want in their concert and
01:42:32I, I don't blame them. Bill Rammel, I mean, I think it Sheron's a good
01:42:36guy, um, but this is a complicated story as
01:42:40I understand it, um, this support act
01:42:43made pro-palestinian uh, comments, I don't think they were
01:42:47outrageous offensive, and it was then an organization called Craft
01:42:51Work where the next concept was going to take place, who said,
01:42:54right, we're not having them, um, i think that's
01:42:58problematic in terms of free speech um you know
01:43:02uh look you know do i want to go to a concert and hear people chanting
01:43:06political slogans no, but often artists will make a
01:43:10political statement and as long as it's not inciting violence
01:43:14as long as it's not uh offensive then I think they should be able to
01:43:17do that
01:43:18offensive that's why if you watch
01:43:20the video some people do find it offensive the people who
01:43:22obviously
01:43:24uh who running the concert didn't like it so that's why is not on so where you're
01:43:28saying it's not offensive, it's offending people, they probably don't want that, i if i was
01:43:32having event i don't want any of that, i just want people to enjoy the music, you've come for the
01:43:36music, i don't
01:43:37want to hear people,
01:43:41anyone, well this is the thing, everyone wants that, and no one's doubting
01:43:44that that is ultimately the goal and what a successful music concept would look like, but that's not
01:43:48reality, people just say reality, well it's not always, and
01:43:52this is the point, the point is a mistake happened or whatever you want to call it, like he add his
01:43:56views, what did you say he said, "I have two words to say, free Palestine, I
01:44:00believe in peace and love," basically, that's what he said on the video. There was nothing
01:44:04inciting hatred. I'm sorry, but if you're really offended by just those two
01:44:07words, then I really. as a president said, if you allow
01:44:11one, if you allow one artist to do that, your whole concert could
01:44:15be um, you know, a continuation of different political statements
01:44:19being done every every 20 minutes, but hold on, go back through the history
01:44:23of popular music and particularly rock music, you know, there's been
01:44:27a whole association with political causes and political
01:44:30campaigns undertaken by artists, and I think if we're going to
01:44:34start policing artists uh, from the
01:44:38statements they can and cannot... make during a concert, I think we're
01:44:42a very dangerous situation, I think you know you go come to a music concert, I don't want to hear
01:44:45people chanting free Palestine, I find it really irritating, I've come for the music
01:44:49and I'd be saying, shut up, Ed, sing, sing, boy, sing,
01:44:53just sing it, ignore all of it, all right, what about the front cover the Times,
01:44:57half labor MPs at risk of pip cuts, backlash, now this of course is
01:45:01the labor government's attempt potentially if they dare
01:45:05to uh cut some the welfare bill and there's a backlash, bill
01:45:08ramel, um, "there's two, well there's a
01:45:11particularly important review coming out this autumn, the Tim's
01:45:15review into the personal independence payment
01:45:18system, and I think the government has got to hold its
01:45:22nerve and bring in genuine reform, but it's got to do it
01:45:25carefully and it's going to make sure that it doesn't target people
01:45:29who are genuinely disabled and in need of support, but if you look
01:45:33at the level of claims, the way they have risen over the
01:45:37last four to five years and the..." projections into the
01:45:41future that is unsustainable, it's unsustainable and it's
01:45:44very ify as well,
01:45:46you know, it's impossible that we've so we've got so many
01:45:49disabled people in this country, it's impossible, and the fact that we're
01:45:53giving foreigners um benefits as well in this country, something
01:45:57needs to change, now the labour government will not do that cuz his
01:46:00back benches won't allow it, so what's going to have to happen
01:46:04is taxes are going to go up, so again it's people that work that are
01:46:08being punished to pay for. those and there are many that

01:50:32a gut feeling that there has
01:50:35been a miscarrage of justice here um and in part although he's
01:50:39a political opponent I actually respect David Davis uh the
01:50:43tory MP and he's done a huge amount of work investigating
01:50:46this and he's raised very serious questions about her
01:50:50conviction the inqu that came out last week
01:50:54was utterly shocking because it
01:50:56documented whether the killings were undertaken by
01:51:00Lucy Letby or in some other way because of failures
01:51:04within the system three children died who
01:51:08could be alive uh if if better action were
01:51:12taken um I think it was important that inquiry
01:51:16took place I kind of question why
01:51:19Letbies appeal against her sentence. that they
01:51:23didn't wait for that to take place because I'm not sure how the two sit
01:51:26together uh when you're when you're saying what the failings were in
01:51:30respect of a conviction that it's
01:51:34not certain um
01:51:36is is going to be the reality so I I I've just got a gut feeling but
01:51:39well there's too much great but what do you think well at the time we
01:51:43was told that the uh evidence was clear and she was
01:51:47found guilty on that evidence I'm not an expert
01:51:51neither any of us. here, so look, you've got top doc saying
01:51:55no proof she killed babies, well if we've now got top doctors
01:51:59saying that, i would like reinvestigation, maybe another
01:52:02case where everything is put out there, because as
01:52:06far as i'm concerned at the moment she is woman guilty of killing
01:52:10babies because that's what she was convicted of. now if there are people
01:52:13saying she definitely didn't do it and these are experts as well, that
01:52:17needs to be presented, but none of us can sit here for certain and say she
01:52:21did it or
01:52:22she didn't. do it because we haven't seen all the evidence and
01:52:25we we're not experts in that field. all right, well, i want to bring us to uh,
01:52:28it's on the front cover the daily express and also the front cover the sun, but
01:52:32it is not to stop the tax raid on the nation's high streets. is the one about
01:52:36spencer's role to star up painful memories and exact
01:52:39revenge? and basically which child do you
01:52:42believe? so i'm wondering, what are your thoughts on this? you
01:52:46know, i make uh, i don't hide the fact that i
01:52:50don't particularly like king charles and and have um,
01:52:54what I don't like
01:52:55to see is things like this in in public, and
01:52:58I don't really like what El Spencer has done, um, I think these
01:53:02two should meet up and and deal with it privately, but the only people that are really
01:53:06getting hurt here is the royal family as a brand, and our
01:53:10British reputation, um, there is no proof, he
01:53:14said that to him at all, um, and and unless there is
01:53:17proof, I don't think El Spencer should have said it, yeah, Alice, yeah,

01:53:25any issue, and if I spent came out and said that then that's something that has to be dealt
01:53:29with. um, but I am firm monarchist in principle,
01:53:33so I do believe that um the reputation of our monarchy and

01:53:40internationally must be safeguard

01:55:09the end the week, it should be mostly dry, though we are expecting some rain
01:55:12towards the north and it's
01:55:13a fairly similar picture as we head our way into the overnight period, high pressure
01:55:17meaning mostly dry conditions for much of England and Wales, but a warm front
01:55:21eventually crossing the far northwest, so that'll drag in some cloud across
01:55:25Scotland, Northwest England and Northern Ireland, and as we progress through the early
01:55:29hours the morning there'll also be some rain and drizzle around, but to the south
01:55:33of this it should remain mostly dry. see quite a few clear spells
01:55:36across England and Wales, so any rural spots temperatures could get down
01:55:40to between two to 4 degree
01:55:42celsius. Now to start off the day across parts
01:55:46the north, rather cloudy and quite damp at times, particularly across any western hills
01:55:50where there could be some quite persistent rain and drizzle, also quite
01:55:54cloudy and gray start towards northern Island, some spots of rain and drizzle and
01:55:58places also towards northwest England, a bit of cloud across
01:56:01western areas of Wales, southwest England, but actually for many areas of... England and
01:56:05Wales, it should be quite a dry and bright star and it should warm up quite
01:56:09quickly through the course the morning after that chilly start, but
01:56:12towards the north it's likely to remain quite cloudy, still spells of rain and
01:56:16drizzling places, especially across western hills of Scotland, perhaps a
01:56:20bit cloudy at times across Wales and southwest England, northern England
01:56:24also the best the sunshine likely across the far south and southeast,
01:56:28but for all it is going to be a warm day, temperatures widely in the low to mid-20's
01:56:32and feeling quite humid towards the end the day. as well. now
01:56:36Tuesday is very similar picture, towards the north, still often quite cloudy
01:56:40with some rain and drizzle, the best the sunshine across the far south.
01:56:44some of this rain could turn a little bit heavy as well as it slowly sinks its way
01:56:47southeastwards, and for the rest the week, mostly dry, settled,
01:56:51still a little bit of rain across the north and temperatures eventually returning more
01:56:55towards average for this time the year.
