00:00:00Today, students were reunited with their teachers, their schools, and their desks.
00:00:03Of course, school has started. How did school start?
00:00:06It started with expenses. School preparations, school supplies, at the
00:00:10same time, are breaking the backs of families. Unfortunately. Families
00:00:19followed immediately. The Streets are Safe operation
00:00:23was carried out. Legal action was taken against many people,
00:00:262,000 legal actions. There
00:00:30are, and not only operations on the streets,
00:00:34but also narcotic operations are taking place. We will discuss
00:00:37the details of these operations
00:00:39in many regions. The Kozinoğlu
00:00:43investigation. Kaşif Kozinoğlu was a former important manager
00:00:46of the National Intelligence Organization. He had served in critical positions
00:00:50and it was announced that he passed away days before his trial.
00:00:54It was said that he had a heart attack. But he had told his family and
00:00:57lawyers before, "They will not let me out of
00:01:01here." Again, that file was taken
00:01:04off the shelves, an investigation was launched,
00:01:07two consecutive arrests and two operations took place,
00:01:11exhumation procedures were carried out, and the
00:01:14Kozinoğlu investigation extended even to the screenwriters
00:01:17of Kurtlar Vadisi. We will discuss the details.
00:01:21Applications for rental housing have started, applications
00:01:24for rental housing. Well,
00:01:27how much do 1+1, 2+1 apartments
00:01:32start from, and how high do they go? In which neighborhoods can you find
00:01:36these apartments? How will applications be made? All
00:01:39these topics and more will be with you
00:01:43shortly.
00:01:52The IBB case. The second hearing in the IBB case,
00:01:5516 days, 51 detainees, 414 defendants,
00:01:58also started on a new day. What is expected in the IBB
00:02:01case today? Will a detention review take place this week?
00:02:05When will Ekrem İmamoğlu's defense be? What was said about
00:02:08this defense? At a suitable time, at a suitable interval,
00:02:12within a reasonable period, it was said.
00:02:26don't know. We will wait until the end of the month for the detention review.
00:02:30A detention review is conducted every month. This month, a detention review
00:02:34was conducted at the beginning of the month. I believe two weeks ago, two weeks later,
00:02:38a detention evaluation will be made again for the 51 detained individuals.
00:02:41Will there be a release? We will see that in the coming weeks. But
00:02:45in 5 weeks, 16 days, the defenses continue where they left
00:02:48off. In the 3 weeks that took place before, excluding one week for release,
00:02:52the names heard for 3 weeks, a total of 142
00:02:56non-detained individuals gave their defense. The defense of 183 people is still
00:03:00ongoing and it's going quite fast, I can say that. So far,
00:03:04eight people have been heard, and there hasn't even been a lunch break.
00:03:07Important things are being said again. Especially, expert reports were highlighted
00:03:10many times today, I can also say that. Among the detained
00:03:13individuals, Paşa Şahin was the first to take the stand. He was one of
00:03:17those who made a defense. He said that his name, as an IBB police officer,
00:03:20appeared only in a single action in the indictment, that he did not receive any illegal instructions,
00:03:24and that there was no claim that he gave such an instruction.
00:03:27After that, Eyüp Selman Korten, an IBB employee, was
00:03:31at the stand there.
00:03:33He said that he worked between 2006-2020.
00:03:36He stated that there was no concrete document
00:03:39in the file indicating that he favored any company. After his defense was
00:03:43completed, the lawyers' statements were heard. Immediately after that,
00:03:47Aykut Gamsız stated that there was a calculation error in the accusation against him,
00:03:50and that the calculations were correctly entered into the public procurement
00:03:54law system. Again, ISPALT Deputy General Manager
00:03:58Sencer Hacıoğlu was one of the people who spoke immediately after
00:04:01Aykut Gamsız. He requested his acquittal by stating that
00:04:05unfinalized interim payments did not cause public damage.
00:04:08Minutes ago, Orhan Demir was
00:04:11one of the people who made a defense. İbrahim Orhan Demir was formerly
00:04:14the Deputy Secretary General of IBE. He also pointed to that, saying
00:04:17that he was a defendant due to this expert report. He especially
00:04:20underlined that experts wrote these reports despite not
00:04:24having the necessary expertise. His lawyer also underlined
00:04:27this in his statement, saying, "These experts suggest
00:04:31that we commit crimes," said lawyer Rıza Koçak. Immediately after that, at these
00:04:34seconds, İsmail Akkaya is giving his defense at the stand. As I said,
00:04:38until the lunch break, non-detained individuals have started to be called
00:04:41quite intensely and quickly. We can see that many people
00:04:45attended the section where the non-detained individuals were seated. Today,
00:04:48we were expecting Murat Abbas to come. However, let's say he hasn't come yet.
00:04:51Will he be heard, will he not be heard, will he attend the hearing?
00:04:54We will see in the coming hours. But it's going quite fast.
00:04:58Like last week, until late at night.
00:05:04Will it end by the end of September? We will also see this for the case, because
00:05:08after all the non-detained individuals are done, we guess, the estimation
00:05:11is that Ekrem İmamoğlu will be given a suitable time and a reasonable
00:05:15period to present his defense. But until then, as
00:05:18we saw last Friday, there was the Tuzla case, which was also heard
00:05:22here in Silivri. Next Tuesday and the week after, on
00:05:26September 29th, he has new cases. One is the Büyükçekmece
00:05:29case, and one is Ekrem İmamoğlu's espionage case. With these,
00:05:32he had said last week that he would add every hearing
00:05:35day. "I have attended 83 separate hearings. It's been 83
00:05:39hearing days, I'm here." He said he would complete 100.
00:05:42With this progress, it seems so until the end of September. What
00:05:46will happen during this period? What will happen today, and will a date be given
00:05:50for Ekrem İmamoğlu's defense in the coming weeks? We are following
00:05:54all of it to report it. We hand
00:06:11Tuzla case, you know, After that, a sentence came,
00:06:15a two-year, one-month sentence came, and a political ban started to be discussed.
00:06:19His lawyers are appealing this, saying it's too early to discuss
00:06:22a political ban. Ekrem İmamoğlu
00:06:25made a post, saying, "Now, please put yourself in my
00:06:29shoes. There's a case you were acquitted of. With
00:06:33judicial and political games, you are brought before the judge
00:06:36again in this case. Moreover, the judge will only take
00:06:40a statement, because the case
00:06:42was overturned because a statement wasn't taken, meaning it's a procedural
00:06:45matter, not a substantive one. During this time, the judge who
00:06:49issued the acquittal is immediately replaced. The judge was transferred
00:06:52to Edirne with the summer decree, because the case was overturned
00:06:56because no statement was taken, he said. The judge is immediately
00:06:59replaced. The newly appointed judge disregards the acquittal
00:07:03and gives a prison sentence of more than two years, so that
00:07:07there will be a political ban. This is the summary of the Tuzla
00:07:10case, and it is a complete scandal. This is absolutely not
00:07:13a coincidence. 'In all my cases, judges have been changed. There
00:07:17is no longer any doubt that the courts that have been interfered with
00:07:20make decisions on behalf of politics and a single person, not
00:07:24on behalf of the Turkish nation. The Tuzla scandal is the latest,
00:07:27clear, and explicit evidence of this. Nobody should expect
00:07:30a fair trial from such a system. I invite the high
00:07:34judiciary, judges, and prosecutors to reflect
00:07:37on their historical responsibility. The nation
00:07:40is my witness,' said Ekrem.
00:07:44Now we said that the Kaşif Kozinoğlu
00:07:47investigation, the file, after years, Kaşif
00:07:51Kozinoğlu passed away in 2011, and after years, it was taken
00:07:54off the shelf, a new investigation
00:07:57was launched. His family had suspicions,
00:07:59they had objections. Two operations took place,
00:08:03there are arrests, there are referrals to the courthouse. Immediately
00:08:06after that, on Saturday, an exhumation procedure
00:08:10was performed, and after the exhumation procedure,
00:08:13now the screenwriters of Kurtlar Vadisi
00:08:23spread to the TV series Kurtlar Vadisi. A new development
00:08:26occurred in the reopened investigation and the Kozinoğlu investigation,
00:08:30We can easily see Especially, a TV series
00:08:33about the character Kaşif Kozinoğlu is on the agenda. Kurtlar Vadisi,
00:08:36which was very popular when it was broadcast in Turkey. Many
00:08:40claims about the series have come
00:08:42to the agenda. A character in the episodes broadcast in 2011
00:08:46was scrutinized. The character's name in the series is Kazım
00:08:49Kaşifoğlu. Allegedly, the character was inspired by Kaşif Kozinoğlu.
00:08:52The character in the series is an intelligence agent. The superiors are angry.
00:08:56In the episode of the series broadcast on November 10, 2011,
00:08:59Kasım Kaşifoğlu is in a cell. One of the characters in the series threatens him with these words.
00:09:03"I am, I am."
00:09:07Two days after this scene, on November 13, 2011,
00:09:11Kaşif Kozinoğlu died in Silivri Prison. In episode 139, the
00:09:14character Kaşifoğlu was also killed. The character, allegedly representing
00:09:18Mahmut Yıldırım, known as Code Green, entered the prison and killed
00:09:21Kaşifoğlu by injecting a syringe into his arm. The cause of death
00:09:25was declared to be a heart attack. But I do not
00:09:28forgive betrayal. The investigation has now
00:09:30reached the screenwriters.
00:09:37The Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office summoned Raci Şaşmaz
00:09:41to give a statement.
00:09:43Some visuals from later episodes of the series
00:09:47in the file were also
00:09:49examined.
00:09:51The Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu account, on the day Kozinoğlu's grave was opened,
00:09:55shared the scene where the Kaşifoğlu character was killed in the series
00:09:58with the headline "The price of betrayal was heavy. Historical execution for
00:10:02Kaşifoğlu." The attention-grabbing post was later deleted. "It
00:10:05will remain a secret." The words of the series' first director, Osman
00:10:09Sınav, in the past, became trending again on social media.
00:10:12Why? "I never gave a real answer to this. It will remain
00:10:16a secret."
00:10:20A wedding from start to finish
00:10:23in politics. The wedding remained in the shadow of politics.
00:10:27Many political figures were present at Ahmet
00:10:29Davutoğlu's son's wedding ceremony.
00:10:33We see Bülent Arınç, we see Özgür Özel, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu
00:10:37was there, we saw Ali Babacan at this
00:10:39wedding again, and Bülent Arınç's agenda included
00:10:43Melih Gökçek. Melih Gökçek's going to give a statement as a suspect
00:10:46was a topic of discussion for him. He talked about the
00:10:50gum in his mouth. Bülent Arınç
00:10:54a...
00:11:25A wedding podium is not a political arena. Statesmanship is not about speaking
00:11:28at every podium you find, but knowing where, when,
00:11:31and how much to speak. Following Bülent Arınç's statements,
00:11:35Melih Gökçek addressed the government, saying, "My comrades
00:11:38in arms." He said, "Everyone should see clearly who
00:11:42is with whom." Gökçek's call was heard from the Palace.
00:11:45President's Chief Advisor Oktay Saral made a strong social
00:11:49media post against Bülent Arınç's words. "Either
00:11:52you're attacking me, or a day
00:11:55before, another politician
00:11:59stated that he came by invitation, chewing gum
00:12:02with a smacking sound. I watched
00:12:06with great shame.
00:12:11I don't even want to mention his name, but since
00:12:14you applauded, you all appreciated him, I understand. If
00:12:18Bülent Arınç were to set up a podium in a square, he would find
00:12:22no one around him except a few unconscious people.
00:12:25When he saw thousands of people together at the wedding, he took
00:12:29up the saz and made the young couple's happiest day
00:12:32a tool for his political reckoning. Turning a wedding
00:12:36ceremony into a political podium is neither compatible
00:12:40with decency nor with statesmanship. He went
00:12:43at the invitation of a prosecutor, gave a statement. He answered
00:12:46the questions. I always stand behind the ideas
00:12:49I express. I am a politician,
00:12:52a politician criticizes.
00:13:10interpreted it as rude, belittling statements.
00:13:13Arınç also clearly reveals the pathetic state he is
00:13:16in, he used these expressions. Oktay Saral's criticism
00:13:20was not limited to just
00:13:22this.
00:13:57That's the situation. This time, politics
00:14:01came together at a wedding, met at a wedding. Fatih
00:14:04Mayor Ergün Turan, who officiated the wedding, also reacted.
00:14:08He said, "Politics was discussed on the children's happy day."
00:14:11He used the expression, "Being a politician's child
00:14:15has such a side." Melih Gökçek, after that,
00:14:33but at a wedding ceremony. The discussions started right
00:14:37next to the couple, who were preparing to enter their new
00:14:40home. Fatih Mayor said, "May God be pleased with him.
00:14:43I started to think worriedly about what would happen to me."
00:14:47"Unfortunately, the weddings of politicians' children
00:14:50have created an environment that overshadows their
00:14:54wedding itself. Therefore, our daughter
00:14:58should forgive us. We will see beautiful days, children,
00:15:01sunny, beautiful
00:15:02days."
00:15:07"We believe we have seen beautiful days, Mr. President.
00:15:11I cannot say that I agree with every opinion. I am
00:15:14here at this wedding today, of course, knowingly and willingly.
00:15:17We have a relationship with our Prime Minister." Ahmet
00:15:20Davutoğlu's son, Mehmet Davutoğlu, and Revza Öğüt
00:15:24united their lives with a wedding ceremony at the Haliç Congress
00:15:27Center. The guest list for the ceremony and the wedding witnesses
00:15:30were like a political summit.
00:15:33The New Party Leader, who met in the same frame at weddings
00:15:36and funeral ceremonies.
00:15:39and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the leader of the CHP by court order,
00:15:43were among the couple's witnesses. There was neither a dialogue
00:15:46nor a handshake between the two. Among the couple's witnesses
00:15:50were former Parliament Speaker Bülent Arınç, DEVA Party leader
00:15:54Ali Babacan, Felicity Party leader Mahmut Arıkan, Welfare
00:15:58Party leader Fatih Erbakan,
00:16:09to the wedding: Erdoğan. Before the investigation into
00:16:13Davutoğlu for insulting the President was launched, Erdoğan had
00:16:16invited his son to the wedding ceremony. But Erdoğan did not
00:16:19attend the ceremony, nor did he send a wreath
00:16:21or a telegram.
00:16:24Meral Akşener, who fills one of the seats at the Six-Party
00:16:28Table, also did not attend the wedding, but sent a wreath.
00:16:32The participation of AKP members in the wedding was also quite low.
00:16:35Telegrams from Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and AKP's Efkan
00:16:39Ala were read at the wedding. Former President Abdullah Gül
00:16:42also did not attend the wedding; he sent a telegram saying he couldn't make it.
00:16:45Mehmet Davutoğlu and Revza Öğüt's happiest day was overshadowed
00:17:12this fight? Where do you think this fight will lead? What headline
00:17:15would you write? First of all, of course, we wish
00:17:18the newly married couple happiness, but I don't know how
00:17:22satisfied they were with such a wedding.
00:17:25Well, I mean, Mr. Arınç's
00:17:29chosen location for his statement
00:17:32was not appropriate, I think. We need to say that.
00:17:35At such a wedding, to delve into so many
00:17:39political evaluations during the happy moments of the couple
00:17:42– there were general chairs there, and other politicians as well,
00:17:46they didn't do it. I, in terms of
00:17:50etiquette, did not consider it a very appropriate place,
00:17:54I expressed. But why did he choose the wedding
00:17:57for this statement? Well, as you know, Mr. Bülent
00:18:01Arınç makes such statements whenever he finds an opportunity.
00:18:05Harsh statements, it seems at first,
00:18:08but when you look at the aftermath,
00:18:11actually, you almost want to say, "old habits
00:18:15die hard." These kinds of outbursts are all well and good,
00:18:19but what's the point? Mr. Arınç,
00:18:22you want to say something to the AK Party community,
00:18:25to the AK Party base, but you don't follow through.
00:18:29We feel the need to say this every time. Today, the same
00:18:33thing happened. The criticisms he made are important,
00:18:36that needs to be seen. And for the AK Party, I can also
00:18:39very easily say that there is still a very
00:18:43serious cadre with ongoing membership, who have taken
00:18:46on important responsibilities in the past, and these
00:18:50cadres are not satisfied with the current situation. I mean, they know very well
00:18:54that the Turkey they proposed or promised when founding the AK Party
00:18:57is not what it is today. And again, here,
00:19:01they also know very well that the reason or
00:19:04source of all these criticisms is President
00:19:08Erdoğan's policies. However, despite this,
00:19:12they make their criticisms. Then, if you notice, when
00:19:15it comes to Mr. Erdoğan, they don't even say
00:19:18a bad word. But they need
00:19:21to see that Erdoğan is the main pillar
00:19:25of these policies and that what is happening in Turkey today
00:19:28is in line with his views. I mean,
00:19:31they say Erdoğan is the one who knows
00:19:35politics best, right?
00:19:37I mean, they should also come out and say,
00:19:41what kind of politics does Mr. Erdoğan know?
00:19:45At the point we've reached today, I'm saying, Mr. Erdoğan,
00:19:48knowing that the public's vote
00:19:51is power, uses the powers of the state.
00:19:54He practices politics by using power, and not everyone
00:19:58can do this. Not every politician can do this. Not every
00:20:01president can do this. Not every prime minister can do this.
00:20:05Because you can use the power of all state institutions
00:20:08to the fullest and ruthlessly. You can suppress the opposition
00:20:12in this way. Not everyone can do this, but ultimately,
00:20:15the architect and the pioneer of this is Mr. President,
00:20:18especially after the transition to the presidential
00:20:22system of government. Now, Bülent Arınç makes
00:20:25those criticisms, but he cannot put them forward in a coherent
00:20:28way, or they lack continuity, as
00:20:32you know. Many former AK Party
00:20:35founders left the party and formed
00:20:38other parties, but Bülent Arınç remains within the party.
00:20:41However, we don't see him having
00:20:45such a power base within the party.
00:20:49And immediate reactions come from the Palace,
00:20:52and we need to mention that the reaction from the Palace
00:20:56came through the name of the Palace's most vocal
00:20:58spokesperson. So, there is no
00:21:02ideological criticism in his statement either.
00:21:06We only see a strong
00:21:09anger and nervousness. That is, from
00:21:12the criticisms of that Palace advisor.
00:21:15Let me repeat, perhaps it's a lot
00:21:18of talk. In the AK Party, those with such rhetoric,
00:21:22when you meet them face to face, believe me, I
00:21:25was very surprised the other day at a reception,
00:21:29for example. A very important former AK Party figure
00:21:32who had held very important positions in the past,
00:21:36made tremendous criticisms without me saying anything,
00:21:40made tremendous criticisms. But when you look at it,
00:21:43these criticisms are not voiced publicly.
00:21:46Or a correct address is
00:21:50not provided regarding why
00:21:54they originate. I will open a parenthesis here. Bülent
00:21:57Arınç, in his speech, again on this occasion,
00:22:00for example, touches upon the subject of Milli Kökçe
00:22:04and makes harsh criticisms against him as well. I have been saying
00:22:08for days,
00:22:10and I watch with astonishment, that Bülent
00:22:14Arınç, 10 years ago, said, "Ankara Parcel
00:22:18by Parcel." He accused Melih Gökçek. For 10 years,
00:22:21no prosecutor summoned him. At the beginning of this
00:22:25year, Bülent Arınç said again, "If a prosecutor summons
00:22:28me, I will go and give a statement. I will explain how Ankara
00:22:31was sold." Again, no one summoned him. Then, a month
00:22:35later, the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality applied to the prosecutor's
00:22:39office, asking them to hear Bülent Arınç. Again, no one
00:22:42listened. Meanwhile, Melih Gökçek was summoned
00:22:46to the prosecutor's office. We said, maybe on this occasion,
00:22:50Bülent Arınç's allegations will be asked, or Bülent Arınç
00:22:53will be summoned, "Come here, you were the Speaker of Parliament
00:22:57in this country, you were the Deputy Prime Minister, tell us
00:22:59what you mean regarding Arınç," because Arınç
00:23:02said again in recent days, "I am a lawyer.
00:23:06If summoned, I will go and give a statement." So why is no prosecutor still
00:23:10summoning him to take his statement?
00:23:14I should also mention that, and also
00:23:17in connection with your previous news,
00:23:20let me make a small addition regarding Ekrem İmamoğlu's
00:23:24re-conviction for political ban and insult. Ekrem İmamoğlu's
00:23:28statement truly deserves
00:23:31to be appreciated. But let me say something
00:23:34else. I understand that a segment
00:23:38of society does not know this detail well:
00:23:41Ekrem İmamoğlu was acquitted twice. When the appellate
00:23:45court overturned the case upon the judge's request,
00:23:49meaning he had been acquitted. The appellate court overturned
00:23:52it because, why did it overturn it? Because the defendant's
00:23:55statement was not taken, meaning a formal statement would be taken.
00:23:58Ekrem İmamoğlu was going to give a statement. He was put
00:24:02in a prison vehicle from Silivri, and when he was halfway there,
00:24:06news suddenly came that the vehicle had broken down.
00:24:09Halfway, yes, they returned with the same vehicle,
00:24:13they returned. Look, they returned, and Ekrem İmamoğlu could not
00:24:16appear before the judge who had acquitted him twice.
00:24:20So what happened next? Then, as
00:24:23you say, with the summer decree, a judge was promoted
00:24:26in rank and made the head of the court.
00:24:30The judge who acquitted him twice was sent
00:24:33to Edirne, and a new judge
00:24:37arrived. Ekrem İmamoğlu, moreover, the hearing was
00:24:41moved to Silivri, not to that courthouse.
00:24:44That hearing was held there, and in the first session
00:24:48of the new judge, "in the first session,
00:24:52he faced a result of being sentenced to
00:24:55a prison sentence exceeding even the prosecutor's
00:24:58request. I keep asking myself, believe me,
00:25:01for the sake of my country, for the sake of law, for the sake
00:25:05of democracy, for days my mind
00:25:08has been constantly occupied with this hearing, with this case.
00:25:12I can't believe it. If a few legal
00:25:15professionals came out and explained this to us, how is this possible?
00:25:19He is acquitted twice, and then..." as he's about to give a statement,
00:25:23the vehicle breaks down, he's sent back,
00:25:26and another judge takes over in the meantime. That's how it
00:25:30turns out. I wanted to mention that too, because
00:25:33I consider it very important for my country's legal system,
00:25:36and these details were not in Ekrem İmamoğlu's
00:25:40statement. I wanted to say this. Thank you. Yes, Ekrem İmamoğlu's
00:25:43we expressed his statement and reaction
00:25:47on this issue. Now, of course, I want to ask
00:25:51this: Is this Imralı, the house/villa in Imralı,
00:25:54what kind of place is being built? Nagihan Alçın made a post
00:25:58about this. After meeting with MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, she said
00:26:01the following: A house is being built
00:26:03for Abdullah Öcalan
00:26:06on Imralı Island. It is a place with a garden that offers humane living conditions and has the comfort
00:26:09of a home. She said that he would be able to live
00:26:12in the house in a way that is suitable for the normal flow of life, but she also stated
00:26:16that Öcalan has so far refused to move into this house. It's coming to our screen. I asked
00:26:20why, and she said, "Because he wants status." Afterward,
00:26:23Şamil Tayyar also gave some details about this house. He said, "The house that Mr. Devlet
00:26:26Bahçeli announced is a duplex villa." He used the expressions "It has a closed area
00:26:30of 250 square meters." A statement came from the Minister of Justice, who said
00:26:34that administrative buildings are being built, and those buildings are probably what is being referred to. He said
00:26:38that it is not a habitable place for the construction of a private house.
00:26:42How did you view these
00:26:44statements, these discussions? That is, is the government struggling to manage
00:26:48both its relationship with Öcalan and its relationship with the public,
00:26:52this dual relationship? And is the aim here to increase
00:26:55dialogue
00:26:57along with status?
00:27:01Well, honestly, the government's
00:27:03statements before the 2023 elections are not
00:27:07so far in the past. I don't even need to remind you again. About Öcalan,
00:27:11incredibly harsh expressions
00:27:14were being used.
00:27:17And they were even claiming that the Republican People's
00:27:20Party, if it came to power, would release Öcalan. You know
00:27:24videos were being published on this issue. But at the point
00:27:27we have reached today, Öcalan
00:27:30has been elevated to the role of a founder, or, in quotation marks, a savior,
00:27:34by government spokespersons and government circles again.
00:27:38For that reason, honestly, after this, for Öcalan,
00:27:41I think, not just administrative
00:27:44buildings and so on,
00:27:46really,
00:27:50Öcalan is being shown as the strongest part
00:27:54of this process, which I do not agree with and have always
00:27:57criticized. On the contrary, I wish
00:28:00it wasn't Öcalan but his party that was the main
00:28:03contractor and driver of the process, because then social
00:28:06support would have been more intense and stronger. Today, I think
00:28:10this process is about a party, Mr. Küçükşahin, this new party
00:28:13is being referred to as a new party on the party's side. Will this new party
00:28:17undertake the process? That is, will it be given
00:28:21official status, or will it manage the process de facto, even if it is not given official
00:28:25status on paper? For example,
00:28:26Öcalan.
00:28:29I mean, he is already handling it de facto, I can tell you that, but as far as I understand, Öcalan
00:28:33wants a legal framework here too. He is handling it de facto,
00:28:37I will repeat my previous words. From the beginning,
00:28:40he should have been the most effective element of this
00:28:44Turkey without terrorism process, that is,
00:28:47the most effective element on that side of the matter. But
00:28:51anyway, the People's Alliance preferred to put Öcalan
00:28:54forward. As a result, these developments took place.
00:28:58I mean, society naturally doesn't accept this, especially
00:29:01when for example,
00:29:04while the judicial process against the presidential candidate
00:29:07of this country, Ekrem İmamoğlu, including the case we just
00:29:11mentioned, is ongoing, and
00:29:13that in this country, the leader of that organization, after the biggest
00:29:17conflict where 45 lives were lost,
00:29:20like a civil war, is being
00:29:24put forward in this way today,
00:29:27I honestly don't
00:29:29think anyone accepts it.
00:29:33This includes AK Party and MHP voters
00:29:37and their base. That is, if there were
00:29:41at least a general decision covering
00:29:44all political cadres, circles, or all organizations
00:29:47of the country, a softening process, what would you call it?
00:29:51Or you know,
00:29:5575,000, as you know, 75,000 files are being
00:29:58removed at that time. "I wish
00:30:02the same process had been applied to other cases, for example, those
00:30:06connected to the Republican People's Party, the new party, or other opposition
00:30:09parties. Perhaps then
00:30:12there would have been more public support, but in this
00:30:16state, I think public support, public
00:30:19acceptance is low, and still
00:30:41and immediately after that, he switched from the Bayrampaşa
00:30:44Republican People's Party to the AK Party. Hasan Mutlu wrote a post on his social media
00:30:48account on the 1st anniversary of his arrest. He said,
00:30:52"A year has passed, the day we will reach brighter tomorrows has come even closer."
00:30:55dedi.
00:31:01What we are waiting for is not only the day we will reach,
00:31:04but the day when truth will find its own voice when its time comes. These
00:31:07lines were shared from the pen of arrested Bayrampaşa Mayor Hasan Mutlu
00:31:11from Silivri Prison, saying "A year has passed." In this
00:31:15year, we learned a lot: who was with us, who was looking
00:31:19from afar, whose silence, and whose
00:31:22voice. But most of all, we learned this: sometimes a person
00:31:25says a lot by remaining silent, and time reminds everyone not of what they said,
00:31:28but of the truth itself, and it cannot be prevented
00:31:31for even a second. It will eventually pass. Bayrampaşa Mayor
00:31:35Hasan Mutlu was elected by the votes of the people. In the March 31
00:31:39local elections, he became mayor with
00:31:4246.67%. He was arrested on September 16
00:31:45and removed from office. Bayrampaşa, which CHP won after years,
00:31:48went to AKP in the deputy mayor election.
00:31:52The indictment against Mutlu and 77 people was prepared 11 months
00:31:55later. A prison sentence of up to 8 to 18 years
00:31:59was requested for him. Hasan Mutlu, who has been in prison for a year,
00:32:02says, "Let those who pursue unjust gain know that
00:32:05position passes, applause ends. The wheel
00:32:08of fortune turns. Dark days come and go, but the will remains
00:32:12in the same place, waiting for its day," thus complaining about his arrest.
00:32:15"A year has passed, the day we will reach brighter tomorrows
00:32:19has come even closer."
00:32:25Former CHP Deputy Levent Gök shared
00:32:28for the first time the footage of the verdict hearing in 2014
00:32:32where Kenan Evren and Tahsin Şahin Kaya, who were tried for the September 12 coup,
00:32:35were sentenced to life imprisonment.
00:32:37paylaştı.
00:32:41As a result, it is understood that the defendants Ahmet Kenan
00:32:45and Ali Tahsin Şahinkaya, while serving as Chief of General Staff
00:32:48and Force Commander on the date of the incident,
00:32:51committed the crime of attempting to abolish the Constitution
00:32:54and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and prevent them from performing their duties
00:32:57with the memorandum they gave to the then Prime Minister
00:33:00on 27/12/1979 and 2.1.1980.
00:33:03On September 12, 1980,
00:33:07the same defendants committed the crime
00:33:11of forcibly changing, altering, and abolishing
00:33:15the Constitution
00:33:18of the Republic, and forcibly overthrowing the parliament
00:33:21established by this decision and preventing it from performing its duties.
00:33:25Since it is understood that they committed this in unity of thought and action,
00:33:28it was decided
00:33:31that the defendants be sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment
00:33:34in accordance with Article 146/1 of the Turkish Penal Code No. 765,
00:33:38which is more favorable to them according to the crime date, that Article 80
00:33:41of the Turkish Penal Code not be applied,
00:33:45and that in accordance with Article 59 of the Turkish Penal Code,
00:33:48considering the defendants' behavior during the hearing,
00:33:51their sincere confessions, and the scope of the file, they be sentenced
00:33:54to life imprisonment and that Articles 31 and 33
00:33:57of the Turkish Penal Code and Article 30 of Law No. 1632
00:34:00be applied. It was decided
00:34:03that the measure against them be continued.
00:34:06You can appeal the decision within one week. The decision
00:34:10will also automatically go to the Supreme Court.
00:34:14President Erdoğan, on the other hand, emphasized September 12 in Samsun.
00:34:17He said that the coup chapter has been closed
00:34:20never to be opened
00:34:22again.
00:34:25The September 12 coup not only left deep
00:34:28wounds in the hearts of our nation,
00:34:32but also dealt heavy blows to Turkey's
00:34:36growth and development.
00:34:39Our country was condemned for many
00:34:42years to economic
00:34:46backwardness, poverty,
00:34:49and the arbitrary rule of guardians.
00:34:52At the root of many problems, especially
00:34:55terrorism, which still consumes our energy
00:34:59today, lies
00:35:02the September 12 coup.
00:35:05Our nation put a stop
00:35:09to this bad course on November 3,
00:35:122002, by saying,
00:35:15"Enough, the word and the decision belong
00:35:19to the nation." I want it to be known
00:35:22that in Turkey, the chapter
00:35:25of coups is
00:35:27now closed.
00:35:31This nation will not allow
00:35:34it to be opened again. We will never allow
00:35:38the will of the nation to be overshadowed.
00:35:41vermeyeceğiz.
00:35:48and diesel fuel reflected on the pump
00:35:51on Friday night, Saturday. On Friday night, gasoline had an increase of 3 lira 20 kuruş.
00:35:54We had pointed to today. As of tonight,
00:35:58an increase in diesel fuel is expected, between 6 lira 62 kuruş
00:36:02and 7.67. An increase is expected.
00:36:06In Istanbul, the liter price of diesel fuel is currently
00:36:09over 80 lira. We see it as 89 lira.
00:36:13If there is an increase of 6 lira 62 kuruş, the liter price of diesel fuel
00:36:17goes above 95 lira, becoming 95.03 kuruş.
00:36:20If there is an increase of 7 lira 67 kuruş, it becomes 96 lira 68 kuruş.
00:36:24In Ankara, if there is an increase of 7 lira, it goes
00:36:28above 97 lira. In Izmir, it goes above 98 lira. In Antalya,
00:36:31it goes above 99 lira. The liter price
00:36:35of diesel fuel, if there is an increase of 6 lira, is above 95 lira
00:36:38in Istanbul. In the capital, we see a price
00:36:42above 96 lira. In Izmir, 97 lira, and in Antalya,
00:36:4698 lira 1 kuruş per liter
00:36:49price appears with the upcoming
00:36:53increase in diesel. Now we mentioned
00:37:11it slowly, slowly, the weather has started to cool down. In the early
00:37:15morning hours and in the evenings after work, we feel the need to grab
00:37:18a light jacket.
00:37:21So, has this seasonal change also affected the market?
00:37:25Are we seeing winter fruits and vegetables in the market?
00:37:29The fishing season started on September 1. What is the latest situation with fish?
00:37:32These are the last days for sauce tomatoes. Are there any sauce
00:37:36tomatoes left? What kind of
00:37:48We immediately went to a market. We are in the market in Zeytinburnu.
00:37:52Here, as you said, with the arrival of winter, preparations are also
00:37:56being made at home. Here,
00:38:06this is a stall with affordable prices at the market, because
00:38:10the tomatoes bought from here will be processed, boiled, and used for winter
00:38:13menemen sauce. Such preparations will be made. We see
00:38:17prices ranging from 15 lira to 30 lira, and 25 lira.
00:38:20Preparations for winter are being made according to budgets.
00:38:24Of course, as I said, there are different kinds of tomatoes, but especially
00:38:27for winter preparations, tomatoes have become
00:38:30the main raw material, I can say. The most density at the stalls
00:38:34is also with tomatoes. I will ask Mehmet Ali Şener, let's go
00:38:38to the vegetable and fruit stall. With the arrival of winter, some products are slowly
00:38:42becoming more expensive, and the prices of some products are falling. Now let's see,
00:38:45we have beans here. The price of beans is 60 lira
00:38:48per kilo at the stalls. Next to it are kidney beans. Kidney beans
00:38:52are one of the products being prepared. Its price is 90 lira per kilo, generally
00:38:56it hovers around this price. Next to it,
00:38:59its kilo is 100 lira. Next to it, its kidney beans are also
00:39:03sold for 100 lira. We did not see the expected decrease in peppers
00:39:06this season. They are still sold for 100 lira. As I said,
00:39:10pepper varieties are generally like this. Let's see, right next to it
00:39:13we have pink tomatoes, a must-have for breakfasts. Their kilo
00:39:17is sold for 60 lira. Next to it, we have cucumbers.
00:39:20The kilo of cucumbers is 40 lira. Spinach, again, with the arrival
00:39:24of winter, spinach has taken its place. Its kilo
00:39:28is sold for 50 lira at the stalls. Again, one of the most affordable
00:39:31stalls in the market is the greens stall.
00:39:34When we look, the cheapest starts from 20 lira. Those are already
00:39:37arugula, parsley, sorrel and similar products. The kilo
00:39:41of lettuce is
00:39:54we said winter has come. How do we know that winter has come?
00:39:58We know from tangerines. Their kilo is 50 lira
00:40:01at the stalls. Generally, our fruit prices
00:40:05are like this. Next to it, there are peaches for 50 lira. Then there are plums. The kilo
00:40:09of plums is sold for 25 lira. There are figs. Slowly,
00:40:12the fig season is also passing, and prices have started to drop.
00:40:16It was around 120 lira, now we can
00:40:19find it in markets for 75 lira. Bananas are generally
00:40:22at the same level, sold for 100 lira per kilo. We haven't seen
00:40:26much fluctuation in prices this season, especially.
00:40:29There are grapes. Grapes are also slowly about to finish, but
00:40:33if we look at the price, it is at 50 and 60 lira levels.
00:40:37We can say goodbye to summer. We couldn't find a much lower price
00:40:41in the markets we visited. Black grapes are 60
00:40:44lira. Right next to it here is the green one, which is
00:40:4850 lira. You asked about fish, so let's go to a fish
00:40:51stall. On September 1, the fishermen said "Bismillah" and there is
00:40:55a significant increase in bonito.
00:40:57Let's go forward here. Look, we have anchovies here. The kilo
00:41:01of anchovies is sold for 120 lira. Next to it, there is whiting.
00:41:04The kilo of whiting is 350 lira. This
00:41:07is a good stall for fish lovers. Next to it, there is red mullet. Its
00:41:11kilo is also 350 lira. There is also Black Sea horse mackerel.
00:41:15Its kilo is 120 lira. Sea bass is
00:41:18500 lira. Sea bream is 400 lira.
00:41:21If we say which one is affordable, let's show you.
00:41:25We got the expected yield from bonito this year.
00:41:30Will it generally drop, or will it stay here? It will stay here, it won't go lower
00:41:34than this. If it goes lower, the man will lose money, he won't catch it. So let our people eat bonito for free
00:41:37here.
00:41:48We can buy it for 100 lira. For fish lovers, bonito
00:42:10The district is talking about the missing 11-month-old baby Büşra.
00:42:14Look why.
00:42:17Mother Elif Balıkçı went to Divriği from Diyarbakır
00:42:20as a seasonal worker on September 10, and reported that she could
00:42:23not find her baby Büşra in the tent they were living in.
00:42:26Thereupon, AFAD and gendarmerie teams were dispatched
00:42:30to the region. A large-scale search was launched
00:42:33to find the baby. Six people,
00:42:36including the mother and the baby, were taken into custody.
00:42:40In her statement, she confessed that while Büşra
00:42:43was sleeping in the tent, a white car
00:42:46arrived, and two people got out of the car, entered the tent, took the child,
00:42:49and left. She said that her daughter Büşra
00:42:53was actually given to these people for money by her father.
00:42:57She also stated that three people in the region witnessed this situation
00:43:01and that the claim of disappearance was entirely
00:43:04a fabrication. Six suspects,
00:43:08including the mother and father, are in custody. The teams
00:43:12are continuing their efforts to find the baby.
00:43:14The suspects are expected to be referred to the courthouse
00:43:18today. Six people,
00:43:21including the mother and father, are in custody.
00:43:25They said our child is missing, they reported it. Afterwards,
00:43:29the mother confessed in her statement that
00:43:33her father gave the child to others for money.
00:43:36We are asking where baby Büşra is, and regarding
00:43:39this matter, the Ministry of Family immediately made
00:43:42a statement. The Ministry of Family and Social Services
00:43:46shared a press statement regarding the news about
00:43:49the missing 11-month-old baby in Divriği district of Sivas.
00:43:53It said that with the incident being reported to the district gendarmerie
00:43:57command, our provincial directorate teams
00:44:00started to follow the process closely. Search efforts
00:44:03to find the baby are ongoing. Upon the instruction of the Chief
00:44:07Public Prosecutor's Office, there have been
00:44:11arrests related to the incident. The investigation is being
00:44:14carried out meticulously, and the family's other four children
00:44:17have been taken under state protection by our Ministry. Social service
00:44:21models suitable for the children's needs are being planned. Efforts
00:44:24to find the 11-month-old baby, and the legal process

00:44:46crashed into the barriers at the toll booths and caught
00:45:00its Diyarbakır-Istanbul route. Due to the rain,
00:45:03it skidded and crashed into the barriers
00:45:06at the ışıklar toll booths. The bus immediately
00:45:10caught fire, and the flames quickly engulfed the entire vehicle.
00:45:14Upon notification, health, police, gendarmerie, and
00:45:17fire teams were dispatched to the scene. Two people lost their lives
00:45:21in this accident, and eight people were injured, one seriously. The injured
00:45:24were transported to the hospital by ambulances. In the fire extinguished
00:45:28by the fire teams, the bus became unusable.
00:45:31The moment of the accident was
00:45:34captured by a security camera second by second,
00:45:38just like this. The bus, look,
00:45:40is coming and... "Due to the slippery
00:45:44road, the driver suddenly loses control of the steering wheel and hits the barriers.
00:45:47The bus
00:45:50goes up in flames. Two people lost their lives,
00:45:53one seriously, and 8 people were injured. Those moments
00:45:57were captured by the security
00:45:59camera like this.
00:46:08The images recorded in Çanakkale, Muğla, and
00:46:11Tekirdağ caused concern. Mass fish deaths occurred
00:46:15in three cities. Teams from the Provincial Directorate
00:46:19of Agriculture and Forestry, who worked in the regions, took samples and immediately
00:46:22started an investigation.
00:46:26The images caused concern. Mass fish deaths occurred
00:46:30in Çanakkale, Muğla, and Tekirdağ. An investigation
00:46:32has been launched. The images are from
00:46:35Ayvacık, Çanakkale. Fish deaths occurred in the Ayvacık Dam
00:46:39for an unknown reason. Upon notification, teams from
00:46:43the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry went to the region, conducted an investigation,
00:46:47and took samples from the dam water
00:46:48and dead fish.
00:46:51Field investigation. It was determined that the fish
00:46:54deaths were not concentrated at a single point, but occurred
00:46:58in more than one area of the dam lake. Thousands of large fish
00:47:01washed up on the dam
00:47:02shore.
00:47:09These images are from Muğla. It was reported that dead fish
00:47:12washed up on the shore of Milas Bozbük İncekum Beach. Muğla Provincial Directorate
00:47:16of Agriculture and Forestry teams conducted an investigation in the area.
00:47:20During the control, it was determined that a large number
00:47:23of sprats had washed ashore. Samples were taken from the fish
00:47:26and seawater.
00:47:31The address of these images is Tekirdağ. An investigation
00:47:34was conducted in Saray upon reports of fish deaths in Çayla stream.
00:47:37It was evaluated that the decrease in oxygen levels
00:47:40in the water might have caused the fish deaths. Investigations
00:47:44are ongoing.
00:48:50by Israeli filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel
00:48:54Zoron won the Special Jury Award. The film was shot
00:48:57in secret conditions in Tel Aviv for 3 years.
00:49:0024 Israeli sources, including soldiers
00:49:04and intelligence officers, recount military strategies
00:49:07applied in Gaza and their testimonies regarding the killing
00:49:22their country by saying, "It is really very important
00:49:25for Israelis to watch this
00:59:07Trabzon, Gümüşhane, Bayburt.
00:59:10We had a busy
00:59:12work schedule both in city centers and in rural areas and plateaus.
00:59:16We closely engaged with different segments of society.
00:59:20At the same time, we inaugurated the ready provincial
00:59:23presidencies of the new party, the Bayburt provincial presidency.
00:59:27We visited the Gümüşhane provincial presidency. We also had the opportunity to examine
00:59:30the very good work done by our Trabzon Mayor,
00:59:34our Ortahisar Mayor, on site. Hm hm. Well, in Bayburt,
00:59:37you traveled Bayburt inch by inch.
00:59:40What was the altitude? Where were you?
00:59:44What kind of impression did you get on the field? First of all,
00:59:48the citizens had a great interest in the new party
00:59:51and its deputies, because currently, citizens
00:59:54have lost hope in existing political parties for solving their problems
00:59:58and are looking for something new. In this sense, the new party
01:00:02has truly become a hope, and we saw this hope
01:00:05while touring the city center of Bayburt. But we didn't just go to city centers,
01:00:09we also went to areas where no one could reach,
01:00:12to areas where producers really were, and we met
01:00:15with the Shavaks, who raise sheep,
01:00:19at an altitude of 2,300 meters. We met with the Shavaks, who produce cheese
01:00:22by raising livestock. Therefore, the new party is not
01:00:26just calling citizens to itself, not just saying "come and join us,"
01:00:30but also going to them, listening to their problems,
01:00:33and therefore developing solutions and bringing them to the agenda in Turkey.
01:00:36We are not just in Bayburt, by the way, our deputies
01:00:39have spread to all provinces of Turkey. We have 91 deputies.
01:00:43Some have gone to Konya, and next week I will go to Diyarbakır. Therefore, all provinces
01:00:56is actually looking for a new one, what kind of new one is the producer citizen looking for?
01:00:59Now, what is meant by novelty?
01:01:03First of all, let's talk about production,
01:01:06especially in the existing system. Most of the geographies
01:01:09we visited are people who focus on agricultural production,
01:01:13who deal with agriculture, cereals,
01:01:16fruits, vegetables, and livestock. Here,
01:01:19the point we should perhaps focus on the most regarding the new is
01:01:23the problems experienced in the livestock
01:01:26part of agriculture in Turkey.
01:01:29Already, most of the production data
01:01:32clearly shows us the contraction here,
01:01:36the decrease in the number of farmers working in this sector,
01:01:40and the decrease in total production. This is exactly
01:01:43the point where, when we were touring
01:01:46the cities, they said, "You know that
01:01:50in most of our villages here, all our citizens who are watching us
01:01:54know that there are people who have migrated from Anatolia,
01:01:58from many geographies, to big cities. There are no more
01:02:01sheep flocks in the villages of Anatolia. There are tens of thousands
01:02:04of villages where there is not a single sheep flock.
01:02:08So when we ask how this production
01:02:11is maintained, the Shavaks,
01:02:14who are specific to the Dersim region and whose origins
01:02:18are Pertek and Çemişgezek, but from there, they have spread
01:02:21to Elazığ, Erzincan, and now
01:02:24to all the plateaus of Tokat, Giresun,
01:02:27Gümüşhane, Bayburt, Erzurum. There are families
01:02:30working in a very wide production
01:02:33band. And as they spread from top to bottom,
01:02:36and as production in the villages ceased, and as the villagers
01:02:39of Anatolia withdrew from sheep breeding
01:02:42and sheep and milk production, the Shavaks came to the empty
01:02:46plateaus. At first, they came temporarily,
01:02:50renting these places from special provincial
01:02:53administrations and producing. But now we see
01:02:56that the villagers we visited
01:03:00in Bayburt have now become
01:03:03a part of that village. They have bought land,
01:03:07bought houses, and become part of the village population. Thus,
01:03:10production is not in the village center, but at an altitude
01:03:14of 2300-2400 meters. In the place we went,
01:03:17there were 6,500 sheep belonging to 3 families, and all of them were producing Tulum cheese,
01:03:20Tulum cheese. So, from here, Mustafa, do we call it Bayburt Tulum
01:03:24or what do we call it? It is known as Erzincan Tulum cheese,
01:03:27but yes. Is Erzincan Tulum cheese
01:03:30produced in Bayburt? In Bayburt,
01:03:33Erzurum, Giresun, that is, wherever there is a plateau,
01:03:37as we said, because the villagers of that settled area
01:03:41have withdrawn from production, we will explain the reasons for that later.
01:03:44These plateaus are just behind Erzincan. This is Bayburt.
01:03:47This is exactly 2300-2400 meters high. The village below is the village where I was born.
01:03:51Oh really? Very close, yes. For example, in my childhood,
01:03:55in the 1970s, there were 15,000
01:03:58sheep flocks in this village, but now there are only 400 sheep in the village.
01:04:02So, when we ask what will be done with these large areas,
01:04:06the Shavaks come and continue production. There is one right thing here
01:04:09that we should also support: people continue
01:04:12family-type production. There is a 70-year-old grandfather,
01:04:15a 35-year-old son, daughters-in-law, a grandmother,
01:04:19but also 3-year-old, 7-year-old grandchildren.
01:04:22That is, all of them are in this production
01:04:26band. But what is missing here is the state. These people
01:04:30are still producing in the conditions of 50 or 100 years ago.
01:04:33But the state is not really aware
01:04:36of these citizens who produce millions of liras,
01:04:39tons of cheese. Why is it not aware?
01:04:43We reached here by a very bad road.
01:04:46There is a very bad road, no electricity,
01:04:50no infrastructure services, no water,
01:04:54nothing. They are trying to solve everything themselves
01:04:57and they are producing under these difficult conditions.
01:05:01This is exactly what needs to be supported.
01:05:04In addition to the documents we will mention regarding
01:05:08reducing input costs in agricultural production, these areas also
01:05:11need to be supported by the state. If you ask what we did not see here,
01:05:15we did not see the state. If you ask what we saw,
01:05:18we saw hard work here. We saw waking up at dawn
01:05:22and working until midnight. We saw women, children,
01:05:25elderly, young people, everyone
01:05:28making an effort to ensure one unit of production.
01:05:32I think that was valuable. Yes, it's very valuable.
01:05:35Özgür Karabat, I would also like to ask this: Gökhan Zeybek said that
01:05:39we also saw the younger generation in the production line. Isn't it good to have the younger generation
01:05:43there? Because generally, in families,
01:05:46the older population continues, but the younger generation
01:05:49goes to city centers and no longer prefers to be in that production line.
01:05:53They are moving away from production. Yes, there were young people here,
01:05:57that's true, but this family has achieved this, but essentially
01:06:00it should be a planned thing. That is, as Gökhan Bey said,
01:06:04the state should be planning something. Why aren't young people staying there?
01:06:07One says, "I can't access the internet, there's no social life,
01:06:11no various opportunities, no roads," as he said.
01:06:14Therefore, one of Turkey's advantageous sectors is actually
01:06:18farming and livestock breeding, and these are areas that
01:06:21do not require much capital, that we can rapidly grow
01:06:24without being capital-intensive. But unfortunately, the state
01:06:28has not made a plan for this. Look, Turkey is a country
01:06:31with great product diversity, an advantageous country
01:06:34in terms of climate. Is there land? Yes.
01:06:38Is there production capacity? Yes. But what is missing?
01:06:42There is unplanned migration to cities, and the inability to support
01:06:45agricultural production and animal husbandry there,
01:06:49and to ensure the well-being of the people there with farming and animal husbandry.
01:06:53When this is the case, the state needs to intervene
01:06:56and find various solutions.
01:07:00Look, there is an interesting thing about the AKP government
01:07:03until today: we say there is land, but we observe
01:07:07that the cultivated areas are decreasing in hectares.
01:07:11Cultivated areas, agricultural lands have decreased.
01:07:14This year, we met a farmer with Gökhan Bey in the city center.
01:07:18The farmer says, "I don't plan to sow next year."
01:07:20Look, he says, "I don't plan to sow next year." Why?
01:07:24Because for the farmer, input costs, fertilizer
01:07:27is increasing, diesel is increasing,
01:07:31electricity is increasing, pesticide prices are increasing,
01:07:34labor is increasing, feed is increasing, loan
01:07:38interest is increasing. Only one thing is not increasing: the price of his product.
01:07:41Look, I actually presented a very strange
01:07:51table to you. The agricultural producer price index.
01:07:55Our friends see that the agricultural producer price index
01:07:58has increased by 9.55. Look, the producer price
01:08:01index in agriculture is 9.55. So, this is how much the farmer can earn
01:08:05from the products produced in agriculture. So, how much do the inputs increase?
01:08:09I mentioned it earlier. Fertilizer increases by 50%.
01:08:12This is not sustainable. So, is this unsustainable
01:08:16situation for the farmer a need for the country? Yes, it is a need.
01:08:20Then the state must find a solution here.
01:08:23It is not right to just look at this table as a graph.
01:08:27The citizen says, "I will not sow again." What will happen if he doesn't sow?
01:08:30Turkey will start buying more wheat,
01:08:33importing it. That is,
01:08:36there is an interesting thing in Turkey. There is a serious problem in animal husbandry.
01:08:40We are trying to find a solution through imports.
01:08:44Cereal production has decreased by 19% compared to last year.
01:08:48What the farmer says is true, Gökhan Bey. Fruit production has decreased by 30%.
01:08:51Peaches, apples, even apples have decreased by 48%.
01:08:55Let's show the second graph, yes. Look,
01:08:59our friends are showing that fruit has decreased by 30%, apples
01:09:02by 48%, cherries by 70%, grapes by 27%, hazelnuts
01:09:05by 38%. Turkey is one of the leading
01:09:09countries in the world. Pistachios have decreased by 61%.
01:09:12Why am I saying this? Without reducing
01:09:16input costs, and without reducing
01:09:19our feed costs, and without increasing
01:09:23our own production in Turkey, for example, there is a tremendous
01:09:26increase in soybean imports. What does this mean?
01:09:30It means feed prices will also increase. If we don't produce
01:09:33soybeans ourselves, feed costs will increase.
01:09:37Feed input costs in milk will exceed approximately 61%,
01:09:41reaching 71%. Then,
01:09:44the Shavak will not be able to earn. The Shavak producer said that
01:09:48the price of the cheese he produces here is 5 times higher in the market.
01:09:51The milk he produces and sells is 5 times higher.
01:09:55Well, let's continue. We asked,
01:09:58"When you sell lamb meat here, what is the average
01:10:01cost per kilo at the butcher?" 5 times, 6 times.
01:10:05Now, he said he sold a live lamb for 300 liras.
01:10:08If you clean it as meat, it comes to 500 liras.
01:10:12That is, the cost of a lamb to the villager there is 500 liras,
01:10:15but in big cities, people buy lamb meat
01:10:19for between 1500 and 2000, at least 1500.
01:10:23It varies according to the district and butcher. If you turn it into a chop,
01:10:26it will go up to 2500-3000 liras. So, here, not only
01:10:30does the producer have no chance, but let me add this
01:10:34about our visit with Özgür Bey. Last year there was frost,
01:10:37and the farmer suffered losses from the frost. This year, there was abundant rainfall.
01:10:41Snowfall was good, rain was good. The yield was high.
01:10:45So, when the yield was high, the villager produced a little more.
01:10:47So, when you produce more, will you earn more?
01:10:51No, with last year's price, there is 40% inflation.
01:10:54at the same price as last year.
01:10:58That is, while input costs are increasing, we see that the selling price of the product
01:11:02is not changing. That is, when the farmer produces more,
01:11:06the merchant says, "There's a lot of product, I'll buy it at last year's price."
01:11:09So, even if the villager's production decreases, he loses money.
01:11:13Even if production increases, even if the yield is abundant, he loses money.
01:11:16He loses money in every way. That is, when the yield was high,
01:11:20he thought he would cover last year's debts, but he still couldn't.
01:11:23This year's debt also came. The picture we see is this:
01:11:26the Soil Products Office has still not started buying.
01:11:29It has put them in line, but since people don't have the chance
01:11:33to wait for months to give their product to the Soil Products Office,
01:11:37and they don't have the chance to store them in silos,
01:11:40they are at the mercy of the merchant who will come to their field
01:11:44and pay cash on that day. That's why, as Karabat
01:11:47said earlier, the villager says, "I won't sow."
01:11:51The chickpea farmer says, "I won't sow." The sunflower farmer says, "I won't sow."
01:11:55The wheat and barley farmer says, "I won't sow."
01:11:58Here, another important problem is this:
01:12:02in rural life, those who do agricultural production
01:12:05should also do animal husbandry. That is, they should make their product
01:12:09an input for animal husbandry. But now, there are only
01:12:13those who deal with agriculture, with cereals, and there are those who do animal husbandry.
01:12:17The connection between the two has been broken. It has been divided into two.
01:12:20It has been divided into two. Perhaps because
01:12:24it was not managed well, and because these costs constantly
01:12:28resulted in financial losses for people,
01:12:31they abandoned one of the two. Most of the people living in the village
01:12:35also cultivate their fields, whatever comes out,
01:12:38and they cover their losses with borrowed money from their children,
01:12:42relatives living in Istanbul or other cities.
01:12:46That is, to put it another way,
01:12:49I want to state that we have encountered many villagers who produce
01:12:52just for the sake of it. Yes, low
01:12:56purchase costs do not meet the producer's expectations in a way, exactly.
01:13:00I'll say something. Now, the farmer is worried about this. He says, "I won't give up cultivating my field," because he sees it
01:13:04as something sacred. Well, we used to say
01:13:07in local product campaigns, "Local product, Turkish product,
01:13:10everyone should use it, we are a self-sufficient country."
01:13:13Why doesn't the government care about this issue that farmers are so worried about?
01:13:17We used to say we are an agricultural country. Why doesn't it care?
01:13:21I think there is a strategic surrender here, a conscious surrender.
01:13:25Look, I just said that soybeans are actually
01:13:28a fundamental issue in agriculture and animal husbandry as an input cost for feed.
01:13:31In animal husbandry, we produce 138,000 tons of soybeans.
01:13:34We import 3,253,000
01:13:38tons. In a product that we can produce ourselves,
01:13:42we are only meeting 4% of our needs.
01:13:44When this is the case, how can
01:13:47the farmer prosper, or
01:13:51how can costs decrease? We need to think about this.
01:13:55That's why I'm saying, don't they know
01:13:58what we see as simple? Of course they do.
01:14:01I approach this as a strategic surrender. Don't give up on farmers,
01:14:04don't give up on textiles. That is why we need to think
01:14:08about this carefully, because another structure is emerging here:
01:14:11importers, monopolistic structures, structures growing close to the government,
01:14:15and the Ministry of Agriculture supporting them,
01:14:18giving them incentives. Look, there is such a sacred
01:14:22situation that there is a 3-year-old child among the Shavaks.
01:14:25Perhaps at an altitude of 2003, I don't know, but there is a child around 3 years old,
01:14:29bringing the sheep to be milked to the pen with a stick.
01:14:32The 3-year-old child is in production. Were there pictures of those
01:14:36three children? Let me ask my friends from Damla to edit
01:14:39it. Kadir's effort is so sacred.
01:14:43Look, that child bringing the sheep to his mother to be milked
01:14:46is 3 years old. The farmer is ashamed.
01:14:50The 3-year-old child knows this place is sacred, works,
01:14:54but we, as authorized by the state, as authorized by the government,
01:14:57are not finding a solution for this area.
01:15:00I think if Turkey is to develop, it will develop fastest
01:15:03in agriculture and animal husbandry and
01:15:06pastures. There are so many empty pastures.
01:15:10Look, these friends come from Elazığ, they find emptiness all the way to Erzincan,
01:15:14right? This means that
01:15:17no one is engaged in animal husbandry in Bayburt anymore. They have come to the plateaus of Giresun,
01:15:21then they will go to the plateaus of Tokat. So, is there a plan here? No.
01:15:25Is there pasture improvement here? No. I'm not just talking about fertile pastures
01:15:28when I say pasture improvement. Are there roads? No.
01:15:32Are there channels created for the rapid transfer
01:15:35of meat and milk to consumption?
01:15:38Unfortunately, no. Therefore, we need to think
01:15:42about this quickly. I'm talking about a truly sacred area.
01:15:45If we are self-sufficient in agriculture, we can achieve rapid growth
01:15:48in other areas as well. This is also an area that can grow
01:15:52without being capital-intensive. So, what did you say is missing?
01:15:55You said the state is missing. You talked about state planning.
01:15:58Why is there no state planning? Look,
01:16:02these people belonging to the Shavak tribe,
01:16:04we said there was a significant spread in the region.
01:16:08in agricultural production, in animal husbandry, in sheep breeding, if the villagers
01:16:12have withdrawn, they enter that area, and
01:16:16they are here, the scene we see
01:16:19is that the state needs to issue a special law for this area,
01:16:23that is, if it's an incentive, it's a direct production.
01:16:25They are doing it, look, what are their expenses,
01:16:28they graze in the pasture, they have no special expenses, no electricity,
01:16:32no water expenses, no fuel expenses, yes,
01:16:36with this stick in his hand, that is, his height
01:16:39is not even as much as the sheep, that is, he is not 1 meter tall, but
01:16:43he has learned to bring
01:16:46them one by one to his mother, his mother
01:16:50and father milk together, which is also interesting, that is, before
01:16:53women used to milk milk, but
01:16:57now, women and men milk together, because
01:17:00when these input costs
01:17:03and other costs are balanced with sales,
01:17:06everyone needs to work not to lose money,
01:17:10regarding Shavaks, regarding nomads,
01:17:13regarding animal husbandry, especially sheep breeding, the state
01:17:17must take a measure, and special incentives must be created for this place,
01:17:21look, in Anatolia, throughout history, there is
01:17:25a famous saying about breeding, what
01:17:29did they say, wheat and sheep, the rest is play, you will produce
01:17:32wheat in the field, you will raise sheep, and you will meet
01:17:35your livelihood in all these pastures with the
01:17:38nutrients derived from these two products, so it was extremely
01:17:42important, now it appeared in the tables,
01:17:45but it's worth elaborating a bit more, in Turkey,
01:17:49live animal imports increased from 310 million dollars to
01:17:531 billion 250 million dollars in 4 years,
01:17:56that is, by importing live animals, they try to meet
01:18:00the meat shortage, but due to the inadequacy of these
01:18:04imports, and due to the decrease in production,
01:18:07people in large cities, what do we say now, the retired
01:18:10salary is 23,500 liras, how much is a kilo of meat, 1500 liras,
01:18:14how will it be, will people get a month's salary
01:18:17for 15 kilos of meat? So why aren't we
01:18:20increasing production? When governments
01:18:24are stuck due to wrong policies,
01:18:27they say let's import. These imports happen like this in Turkey, we also
01:18:31researched and saw that. Meanwhile, imports are made,
01:18:34a solution is sought in imports, but for years,
01:18:38even if imports increase exponentially, it's not a solution,
01:18:41is it not seen that it's not a solution? When these imports will open
01:18:44and with what quotas, it's told to some people beforehand,
01:18:48these people go and make connections abroad, and after
01:18:51imported products arrive in Turkey, it's suddenly
01:18:55said that imports have stopped, and you know that
01:18:58this is mostly through the Eastern Bloc countries
01:19:01like Hungary, Poland, through that geography,
01:19:05it's widespread among members of the ruling party.
01:19:08through some politicians, widespread imports were made,
01:19:11and we see that imports worth hundreds of millions of dollars
01:19:15came in a single item, and very serious profits are made from this,
01:19:19that is, we, the consumers, pay very high
01:19:22prices, and since this is not reflected to the producer,
01:19:25people in a small chain make huge profits,
01:19:28so production shrinks,
01:19:32production decreases, the number of families in production
01:19:35decreases, a similar situation exists in the agricultural sector.
01:19:39a decrease of approximately 10%
01:19:42in the total cultivable area in hectares, that is, we see
01:19:46a contraction of more than 10% in 10 years, there is an increase
01:19:49in yield, there is technological development, there is progress
01:19:53especially in seed production, but as a result,
01:19:56we see that this progress does not benefit the villager,
01:20:00the number of villagers in the total population
01:20:03decreases every year, let me tell you something very interesting, we
01:20:07went up to this pasture, this is Kitre village of Bayburt,
01:20:11when I was studying in this village in the 1970s,
01:20:14there were 136 students in primary school from
01:20:17first to fifth grade, now the village headman said there are no children in the village
01:20:21between 0 and 20 years old, no one left between 0-20
01:20:25years old, this is another problem, that is,
01:20:29the villager is disconnected from production, yes, young families are turning
01:20:33into security guards, apartment caretakers, factory
01:20:36workers, or public sector workers by going to big cities. As a result,
01:20:40the total age limit in agricultural production
01:20:43has reached 56-57, that is, unfortunately,
01:20:46we do not see anyone in the villages
01:20:50in production in their 20s, 30s, or 40s. Meanwhile, there is an image
01:20:54from your impressions, let's watch it together and then continue, let it be on the screens.
01:21:09One or two days later, we will milk every two days,
01:21:12then we will milk for one or two days like that,
01:21:16and then we will stop milking altogether, that is, we will quit.
01:21:19So, we are at an altitude
01:21:23of almost 2500 meters, yes,
01:21:25when will the cold become more effective here
01:21:29and snow start to fall? The cold has already started
01:21:33to show itself anyway.
01:21:36In about 15-20 days, the weather here gets
01:21:40very cold, that is, it's a very different kind of cold
01:21:44here. So,
01:21:47the possibility of staying here
01:21:50decreases, so we need to go down.
01:21:54That is, we can stay here
01:21:56until the first of November at most,
01:22:00it snows here in November anyway. You did the
01:22:03ram breeding, yes,
01:22:07on average, do sheep give one
01:22:10lamb, or what is the yield number? Our sheep
01:22:13give birth once a year, normally
01:22:16twice, but generally once
01:22:19a year. After
01:22:23that, they milk for 3-4 months. Don't be afraid, brother.
01:22:25We milk for 3-4 months.
01:22:39did you bring from the pasture? 800.
01:22:42800. Yes.
01:22:45Do you encounter any health-related issues
01:22:49in daily life for them? Of course, there are sick ones.
01:22:52Do you see any wolves? I haven't seen any
01:22:56this year, I haven't come across any. There are no wolves this year.
01:22:59I haven't come across any, but
01:23:02they are around. An hour ago, there was a
01:23:06large flock of eagles very high up here,
01:23:09it happens. Do eagles follow you?
01:23:12Sometimes it happens. Eagles usually follow wolves, they follow
01:23:16wolves, of course, because when a wolf takes a sheep,
01:23:20they also gather around to get a share.
01:23:24Yes. For example, the sheep
01:23:26came,
01:23:29what will we do? It goes back to grazing.
01:23:32How many shepherd dogs are with
01:23:36you now? I have 6 dogs.
01:23:39No Kangal, not Kangal, mixed breed,
01:23:42mixed breed dogs, Kangal mix,
01:23:45we need a dog that will go with the herd,
01:23:48that is, it will know the wolf,
01:23:51it will know the sheep, you did the ram breeding,
01:23:55yes, we did the ram breeding, how is it
01:23:57here,
01:24:00after ram breeding, milk yield decreases rapidly, of course
01:24:03it decreases, it is withdrawn as long as
01:24:06it comes to the ram, the pregnancy period begins,
01:24:10then for 5 months,
01:24:22I saw such a large flock of eagles for the first time in my life,
01:24:26usually we see one or two, but we saw a lot of eagles
01:24:30flying over us in the pasture, they say eagles fly high,
01:24:33when you really reach the top of the mountains, I also made
01:24:37a joke, Özgür Bey, I said, you are a Beşiktaş fan,
01:24:39eagles, but we saw at least 50 eagles
01:25:05that I saw this citizen who is speaking, he is a producer,
01:25:09he is really doing great things in his own way, I think he is a great
01:25:12hero, and he doesn't receive any support
01:25:16from any import lobby, he doesn't receive any support from any financial
01:25:20institution, he does great things with his own efforts. Now,
01:25:23this is a great richness for our country. We must realize
01:25:27this and make it more stable, stronger,
01:25:30more planned, and larger. Now, for example,
01:25:34if 100 sheep from our friend's herd are killed by wolves, which happened
01:25:37a day, a year ago, around 200.
01:25:40How will our friend fix his situation?
01:25:43It's a huge loss. How will it be fixed? Now,
01:25:47or if we come to the farmer, even if there is a barrel,
01:25:50if there is a wolf, if there is a drought. What will happen? Does Turkey
01:25:54have an institutional structure for this? Therefore, there is a need
01:25:56for a comprehensive institutional regulation in this area.
01:26:00First of all, planned production must be at the center of the solution.
01:26:03Second, there must be an income guarantee and protection
01:26:07insurance in every way. Third, there must be strong public
01:26:11institutions behind this. Look, when I was talking to these
01:26:14farmers, I didn't hear that a veterinarian would come, for example,
01:26:18or when we went to any villager, I didn't hear that there was an agricultural
01:26:22engineer in our village who dealt with agricultural affairs and guided
01:26:25us. Therefore, there is a need for strong public institutions for this.
01:26:29You said insurance, did they have insurance? As far as I saw,
01:26:32no, that is, when the wolf suffocated two or three sheep
01:26:36and left them, no, I contacted state
01:26:40institutions, we tried hard, but unfortunately,
01:26:43the villagers' losses could not be compensated,
01:26:46that is, those animals killed by wolves could perhaps
01:26:49be utilized in shelters, but that's not available either,
01:26:53that production chain just buries them
01:26:56in the ground. Then, in winter, bears come, dig
01:26:59them up, smell them, and then bears or other wild
01:27:03animals eat them, that is, the dead animals that suffered damage,
01:27:06people say they are tainted and cannot be given, but
01:27:10is there a chance to utilize them in other areas,
01:27:14from their skin, from their other parts? Can they be processed
01:27:17and used in shelters? That production line is also
01:27:21not available, so if you ask
01:27:24who directly bears the damage, it's 100% written
01:27:35to banks have increased significantly
01:27:38in the last 4 years, especially the debts to public
01:27:42banks have increased by 4.5 to 5 times,
01:27:46and in some places
01:27:50we visited in Anatolia, we are aware of this,
01:27:53let me tell you without interrupting you, the farmers'
01:27:57debts to banks which were 6 billion
01:28:00475 million liras in 2006, have exceeded
01:28:041.5 trillion this year, yes, that is, we go to our village,
01:28:07and although a large part of the lands seem to belong to the villager, in reality,
01:28:11especially one private bank and some state
01:28:15banks have seized a large portion of the properties
01:28:18in exchange for mortgages, and since the villager has no
01:28:22chance to repay these debts, as stated by
01:28:25Mr. Özgür Özel, our general chairman, let us reiterate
01:28:29here that when we come to power, we will completely
01:28:32wipe out the villagers' debts to banks and their interest,
01:28:35because there is no chance to repay them, that is,
01:28:39when we say we will wipe out the interest, we
01:28:42will ensure that the lands belong to the villager again.
01:28:45When the interest burden on these properties,
01:28:48which are registered in their name but mortgaged
01:28:52to banks, is removed, and the remaining
01:28:55principal debt is paid in installments
01:28:58with fixed prices over a long term,
01:29:01then perhaps the villager can increase their production power again,
01:29:05yes, by the way, when Özgür Özel went to Kars
01:29:08and Ardahan and met with women, he also talked about
01:29:11a retirement plan for housewives, right? There is also
01:29:15good news about retirement, I will ask you about that later,
01:29:19let's discuss that later, please. Now, of course,
01:29:22we are slowly coming to the end of this topic,
01:29:26but small producers need to be supported in every way,
01:29:28and they need a series of supports such as
01:29:32machine storage, marketing support, agricultural consultancy,
01:29:36and facilitating financial access, but I think Turkey primarily
01:29:39needs a production plan, as I said, Turkey should also
01:29:43determine its strategic products, for example, wheat, barley,
01:29:46corn, sunflower, soy, legumes, feed, and along with
01:29:49these, it should correctly establish its relationship with agriculture
01:29:52and livestock, and create production basins,
01:29:55these production basins should also pay attention to this in the long
01:29:59run, look, Turkey also has a water problem, a drought problem,
01:30:02therefore, it needs an agricultural plan on what to produce
01:30:06with how much water, perhaps this is not discussed much,
01:30:09but in 3-4 years, we will all be discussing this
01:30:13water problem in these villages and these pastures,
01:30:16it should determine the production basins, plan the strategic products
01:30:19to be produced there, small farmers
01:30:22should be supported, and in this way, perhaps reverse migration
01:30:26from cities should be provided, at the same time, institutions
01:30:30like TMO, Meat and Milk Institution,
01:30:33should determine support prices before planting,
01:30:37the farmer should know how much money what will make
01:30:40before planting, so why don't they determine it before planting?
01:30:43Is it because the farmer won't plant? That is, they prefer
01:30:47that, I said, one of the reasons for preference, because later
01:30:51what happens is that there is no space in my silo, I have this much quota,
01:30:54I can't buy it, and with a wild market mentality, we leave the farmer
01:30:58to the mercy of the merchant. The hazelnut price is determined in Turkey,
01:31:02but the prices previously determined and bought by the hazelnut
01:31:06buyers are more important, the same applies to wheat, they say there is no space in the silo,
01:31:10so what will they do then? If there is no TMO, they will
01:31:13sell it to a private person, therefore, an approach that
01:31:17leaves the farmer to the mercy of the merchant is not correct,
01:31:20because this also affects Turkey's strategic planning,
01:31:23it affects your imports, it affects your exports,
01:31:27it affects your demographic structure, such critical decisions,
01:31:31I believe, should be supported by the state regardless of cost.
01:31:35I will add something there, in Turkey, from May
01:31:38until the end of September, grain harvesting is done,
01:31:40that is, the yield per decare
01:31:44is between 800 and 250 kilograms, the state actually
01:31:47sets the base price equally for everyone,
01:31:51whereas the wheat produced in irrigated
01:31:55areas and the wheat produced
01:31:57by villagers who farm in dry
01:32:01fields, producing between 200-250 kilograms
01:32:04per decare, must absolutely be differentiated
01:32:07or supported with additional supports
01:32:10to continue this production. After a while,
01:32:14where do we see this? We see that farmers living
01:32:17in villages at altitudes of 1500-1400-1300
01:32:20meters, where the yield is low, are rapidly abandoning
01:32:24their villages. Therefore, if support is
01:32:28to be given, regional differentiation must be considered.
01:32:31If a base price is to be given for products,
01:32:34additional payments should be set
01:32:38here, taking into account the yield, and villagers,
01:32:41especially young families, should be prevented from abandoning
01:32:44production. Another problem arises here, why did we say that young people
01:32:47in Anatolia are disconnected from production, young families are disconnected
01:32:51from family type production? Because all village schools
01:32:55have been closed. Now, if you close
01:32:58the village school, families have children
01:33:02of all ages. In primary school age,
01:33:05in secondary school age, they will go to the city for middle school, but when they can't even go to primary school in the village,
01:33:09then young families directly go to the city
01:33:12center. So we saw that during this government's
01:33:15term in the 2000s, with the closure of village
01:33:19schools, the disconnection of young families
01:33:22from agricultural production and animal husbandry was ideologically
01:33:26provided, and it seems that it was forced upon
01:33:29the governments by a center to disconnect the Turkish villagers from production.
01:33:33As Karabat also said, since the costs are not covered,
01:33:37families and young people no longer want to deal with it, of course,
01:33:40it's very enjoyable to deal with land and animal husbandry, but the conditions are very difficult,
01:33:44young people now want to go to city centers.
01:33:47I also took a note, we are experiencing a shepherd
01:33:51crisis in animal husbandry, we have Afghan shepherds,
01:33:54did you encounter this situation in the regions we visited?
01:33:58That is, in the place we went, there were only Shavaks, as I said,
01:34:02those who came from the Dersim and Elazığ regions, apart from
01:34:06that, for example, in our Kitre village, two families
01:34:09graze their own animals, they are families whose
01:34:13grandfathers came here as shepherds but settled in the village.
01:34:17Therefore, since there are no additional animals in the village,
01:34:20there may be Afghan shepherds elsewhere, but
01:34:24there are other problems there, for example, many people
01:34:27entered Turkey from the East, from the Iranian border,
01:34:30remember, we saw thousands of young, well-dressed people
01:34:34in their 20s, who had worked for American intelligence,
01:34:38crossing in one night, but what we needed were
01:34:41people who would work in production.
01:34:45I saw Afghan shepherds or Turkmens in the places
01:34:48I visited. But we also witnessed
01:34:51that no planning was done for this and that it created other
01:34:54social and sociological problems when other problems
01:34:58arose. Is small ruminant animal husbandry more difficult
01:35:08of small ruminant animal husbandry is very low.
01:35:10You just let the animals graze in the pastures, there is no cost.
01:35:15also, instead of pasture-type animal husbandry,
01:35:18it has largely shifted to barn-type
01:35:21animal husbandry, to fattening-type animal husbandry, there,
01:35:25all the animals are fattened
01:35:28in closed or semi-open environments
01:35:32without moving at all, regardless of summer or winter,
01:35:36we see more development in milk production here,
01:35:39that is, large industrial facilities producing milk
01:35:42feed the animals with suitable
01:35:46composites, suitable efficient grasses
01:35:50or other nutrients, and they have greatly changed
01:35:54and developed the cattle breed, cattle weighing
01:35:57approximately 700-800 kilograms have started to emerge, but
01:36:01in the Anatolian geography we visited, since
01:36:04the terrain is very rugged, there is no chance for such large
01:36:08animals to graze in the pastures because their foot structures
01:36:11are not suitable for their hooves, it's mostly a place
01:36:15where our old Anatolian native breeds were common,
01:36:19there are large cattle weighing between 250 and 400 kilograms,
01:36:22we see that large cattle breeding is very widespread
01:36:26in those regions like Kars, Ardahan, Erzurum, Ağrı,
01:36:30but when we go there, when we went there,
01:36:33the main problem is this, he produces,
01:36:37he brings his product and hands it over to the merchant,
01:36:40since the Meat and Fish Institution does not come
01:36:43and open suitable combines, and does not buy the product
01:36:47at a suitable price in time, after a while, instead of the number
01:36:50of products increasing, that is, the number of animals
01:36:54should increase through breeding, we see that the herd size
01:36:57is decreasing and animal diversity is decreasing. Yes, during
01:37:01Özgür Özel's contacts in Kars and Ardahan,
01:37:04both the vaccination issue related to foot-and-mouth disease
01:37:19Term Program, do you have anything
01:37:22else to add on this topic? Should I move on to the MTP?
01:37:26We can move on, okay. In the Medium Term Program,
01:37:29we say it's a guide and a roadmap for Turkey
01:37:33in general. A medium term plan is set,
01:37:36it has targets, inflation targets, production
01:37:39targets, foreign trade targets, and currency
01:37:43targets. And accordingly, everyone makes
01:37:46their own planning. So the question is,
01:37:50are the targets announced last year
01:37:53in Turkey consistent with the targets announced
01:37:56this year? No, they are not.
01:37:59There is a planning approach that revises the targets
01:38:03announced last year every time. Therefore, this
01:38:07is just a "friends, let them see us shopping"
01:38:11mentality. What Turkey needs is to have an organization
01:38:14like the State Planning Organization, as in previous years
01:38:17when Turkey was growing. It seems that the medium-term
01:38:21plans, strategic plans, whatever they are called,
01:38:25announced by the Presidential Palace, or the Central Bank's inflation
01:38:28target, to be more clear, none of them were met,
01:38:32and in an environment where targets are updated after 2 or 3 months,
01:38:36it is not possible for decision-makers in the market to act according
01:38:39to this plan. Even the state's own staff do not act
01:38:43according to these plans.
01:38:50In other times, there were always other deviations, it's always an external force, but unfortunately, what I observe
01:38:54is that the main goal of the medium-term
01:38:57plan in Turkey is perception management,
01:39:01reputation management for the government.
01:39:04Planning is something else. Medium-term
01:39:07planning is done to truly grow a country,
01:39:11to truly provide employment.
01:39:14Evaluating planning in this state
01:39:17is, I think, a bit of a waste of time, because
01:39:21plans show us from experience that it can neither meet the inflation target
01:39:24nor the current account deficit target, nor the foreign exchange target,
01:39:28nor the production target, nor the capacity utilization rate. So
01:39:32what plan are we talking about, and how will we act accordingly?
01:39:35If these plans worked, confidence in the markets would increase,
01:39:38and another development index would emerge. Therefore,
01:39:42the structure I observe is that the government itself
01:39:44does not really care about the plans. There is a picture that the government
01:39:48as a whole does not own these plans, and we observe that the ministries
01:39:51are unaware of this planning. Sometimes we even witness
01:39:54problems between the Central Bank and the Minister,
01:39:58and sometimes discrepancies between the Central Bank's
01:40:02targets and tax policies. For this, Turkey
01:40:05needs a strong planning structure again, a new state planning organization,
01:40:09a new strategic planning structure. This structure itself
01:40:12must also have an independent character. That is,
01:40:15"Mr. President, we are doing it this way" won't work.
01:40:19Planning is something else. It must have an independent character.
01:40:21That structure must also be independent, and it must consist of qualified personnel.
01:40:25We cannot form a state planning organization with elements like Ahmet Ağa's son,
01:40:29Veli Uncle's son, someone else's daughter from our provincial organization
01:40:32or someone else's acquaintance from the district organization. This is the situation,
01:40:36so these medium-term plans do not really have the potential
01:40:39to set targets for Turkey. Yes, we need to conclude
01:40:43that in 2023, when Mehmet Şimşek took office,
01:40:47he announced a medium-term plan. For the current year 2026,
01:40:50it was 8.5% inflation. Now he is setting the same inflation target
01:40:53for 2029. Now, for three years,
01:40:56for three years, always for three years later, when it came to inflation,
01:41:00there was 38% inflation. Now we continue our lives
01:41:03with 32% inflation. The interest burden within
01:41:07the budget has not been reduced. That is, there is an incredible
01:41:09interest burden within the budget. The foreseen interest payment
01:41:13for three years is 17 trillion lira.
01:41:16To estimate that the 17 trillion they foresee will be realized
01:41:19means that since there is always a 20-25% deviation,
01:41:22they will pay over 20 trillion lira in interest.
01:41:25So, until the 2026 budget, the income budget is around
01:41:2816 trillion. That is, it is much more
01:41:32than our entire income budget this year. They will pay interest within three years.
01:41:35This interest burden, that is, this understanding of an economy
01:41:39based on usury and interest, must be abandoned.
01:41:43The economic understanding based on budget deficit,
01:41:47that is, based on budget deficit, and aimed at eliminating
01:41:50all deficits through borrowing, must be abandoned.
01:41:53In foreign trade data, that is,
01:41:56you foresee an incredible foreign trade deficit of 22.5 billion,
01:42:00which rises to 47 billion dollars. "Your foreign trade is showing a deficit,
01:42:03you are far from the inflation expectations, you cannot meet the budget targets.
01:42:06Is there an increase in employment? You have an employment target of 34 million,
01:42:1034 point something million. You are under 2 million.
01:42:13What is the growth? Turkey must grow by over 5%,
01:42:17because to overcome all these difficult periods we are in,
01:42:21the real economy needs to grow by 5% and over every year,
01:42:24but we see that these growth targets are not being met."
01:42:28Actually, it is exactly here that Turkey needs a new understanding,
01:42:31a new politics, a new public finance, a new budget management,
01:42:35a new social policy and employment approach. That is why
01:42:39the new party, since its establishment on July 24th,
01:42:42has become a source of hope for our nation in a very short time.
01:42:46Our Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel is the only leader who has managed
01:42:49to take to the streets in Turkey and organize actions,
01:42:53events, and rallies instantly across Turkey,
01:42:57from Edirne to Ardahan, from Hatay to Sinop.
01:43:00We are also all over Turkey with 81 members of parliament,
01:43:0491 members of parliament, and we are in the field.
01:43:07Now we are trying to give all our citizens
01:43:10who will be a hope for this nation, organize social opposition,
01:43:13and ask the question "What is the alternative against this government?"
01:43:17the feeling that "we have alternatives,
01:43:19you are not without options, the option is in the new party,
01:43:22and we are with you." Of course, politics is about giving hope.
01:43:25What kind of hope does the new party give? How are the feedbacks from the field?
01:43:28I would like to ask this as well, as our time is running out.
01:43:32I also want to ask about the election. There are successive statements
01:43:35regarding the election. A technical date adjustment will be made.
01:43:38If it is moved forward a week, our President can be a candidate again.
01:43:42Is there an election expectation in the field conveyed to you by sources close to the government?
01:43:45I think the citizens are already expecting the election to happen
01:43:48as soon as possible, because they have seen that
01:43:52they cannot have a new era from this government anymore.
01:43:55As for the technical regulation, we see
01:43:59that in the election, rather than forming a new government structure,
01:44:03all organs of the state are focused on
01:44:06how to ensure the current president's power for another term.
01:44:10Look, all the focus in Turkey is on how we can make one person
01:44:14a candidate one more time, and after making him a candidate,
01:44:18how can we make him win again? This is a great shame for Turkey.
01:44:22Turkey is a very big country. Turkey can raise dozens
01:44:26of politicians. To see Turkey so small,
01:44:29to think that it cannot be done without one person, is a great shame for Turkey's potential.
01:44:33It is a great disrespect to the greatness of the Turkish nation. I must say this first. Therefore, what have they focused on?
01:44:37All they care about is how we can make Mr. President a candidate.
01:44:40But this is not the agenda of the citizen. The citizen says,
01:44:43"Schools are opening, how will I buy my child's bag?"
01:44:47Yes, they opened today. "How will I buy an apron?
01:44:50Will my child go with worn-out shoes, or will they experience the joy
01:44:54of going to school with new shoes on the first day?"
01:44:57This is the citizen's concern. Therefore, we see in the field
01:45:01that the gap between the government's agenda
01:45:05and the citizen's agenda is very wide.
01:45:08That's why there is great interest in us. There is great interest in us,
01:45:11and we are aware of this interest. We also have a concern
01:45:15to explain to the citizens how we will manage Turkey
01:45:19better. And I must also say this,
01:45:23the new party is really a new party.
01:45:27It is a new party with both its policies and its discourse.
01:45:29Moreover, I should point out that it has around 100,000 members.
01:45:33More than 30% of these members, look, perhaps we are saying this
01:45:36for the first time in Turkey on these screens,
01:45:40more than 30% of these members are people who have never
01:45:44been members of any political party in Turkey before. Look, what does this mean?
01:45:47The citizen says, "Enough is enough, the word is with the nation."
01:45:51We are coming here. We now have a party.
01:45:54There are thousands of people who want to change Turkish politics
01:45:57outside of the existing politicians. The new membership structure
01:46:00means that more than 200,000 people who have never been members of any political party before
01:46:04have become members. Therefore, the new party
01:46:08is truly a new party,
01:46:10and we are not a party established by people
01:46:13who have previously served in a party, but a party established by the nation.
01:46:17I would like to state this. My director,
01:46:20I would appreciate it if you could tell me how much time is left.
01:46:23We have the last 3 minutes. We had a news story.
01:46:27Can we go to it? We wanted to ask
01:46:30for our guests' comments. I will take your comments on the election.
01:46:34Also, schools opened today. Schools opened, and for the first time in Turkey
01:46:38in 56 years,
01:46:40fewer than 1 million students started school this year.
01:46:43This actually means, as we said, the number of people
01:46:47working in agriculture is decreasing, and there is also a decrease
01:46:50in the number of students going to school. In fact, we are facing
01:46:54a serious problem in population planning due to the intense economic crisis,
01:46:57distorted urbanization, unplanned growth,
01:47:15falling below 1 million to 970,000,
01:47:19and the prediction that this number will decrease to as low as 9,000
01:47:23in the future, actually shows that
01:47:27we need to discuss new national education policies. Since schools opened today,
01:47:30perhaps this should be discussed live in another segment.
01:47:34Of course, one of the demands regarding schools is that
01:47:37children in private schools may have many opportunities, but children in public schools
01:47:41need at least one meal a day, access to food,
01:47:45the price of a toast and ayran in the school cafeteria.
01:47:49This is also noteworthy. Many of the mayors
01:47:52who provided this are in prison now, as you know.
01:47:55Many of our mayors who offered a free meal
01:47:59to students in their municipalities' schools and who provided
01:48:03drinking water so that children could drink clean water
01:48:07are not currently in office. All of these
01:48:10need to be re-evaluated. It is very clear that Turkey
01:48:14needs to review its national education understanding, perhaps
01:48:18even the parts up to basic university education.
01:48:20Last minute. Speaking of our mayors,
01:48:24let me ask you about the Tuzla case in the last minute.
01:48:27Ekrem İmamoğlu also expressed his reaction regarding the Tuzla case,
01:48:31but in the last minute, let me tell you,
01:48:34it is useful to remind you of the Tuzla case.
01:48:37Ekrem İmamoğlu was taken somewhere one day,
01:48:41then his car broke down and he came back.
01:48:44Do you remember? It was about 60 km away.
01:48:47Yes. He couldn't give a statement that day.
01:48:51If Mr. Ekrem had given a statement that day, the judge,
01:48:55who had previously acquitted him, had a high probability
01:48:58of acquitting him again. We missed this that day,
01:49:01wondering what happened. Then he was brought back,
01:49:13Moreover, he was convicted by a newly appointed judge
01:49:16in the first hearing. "Moreover, he was convicted
01:49:20with a heavier sentence than the prosecutor requested.
01:49:23Now I am telling some people, as they say,
01:49:26"Ekrem İmamoğlu's case is not political." If this is not politics,
01:49:30what is it? Look, even this small case, I know Mr. Ekrem has 13 cases,
01:49:34even this small case, because this small case
01:49:37is a technical one, even this example
01:49:41shows how political the case is, how political the investigations
01:49:45against Ekrem İmamoğlu are. Will there be a political ban?
01:49:47Well. I think there shouldn't be.
01:49:51If simple criticisms become political issues in Turkey,
01:49:53then no one in Turkey will be able to engage in politics.
01:49:57The institution of politics will disappear, which would be a great harm to Turkey.
01:50:01I mean, those balance sheets we explained a little while ago,
01:50:04the root of all of them is the blow to democracy in Turkey,
01:50:08the design of politics through the judiciary, and the unjust imprisonment
01:50:11of journalists, politicians, and artists for months, even years.
01:50:15This is the primary reason. It is not possible to correct
01:50:19these economic data we talked about. Well, Özgür Karabat,
01:50:22Gevkan Zeybek, thank you very much for your participation and evaluations.
01:50:26I wish you a beautiful day. We have come to the end of our allotted time

01:55:11Troy. Sarıyerkola,
01:55:15the taste of Turkey, presents. Galatasaray defeated Kocaelispor
01:55:18with a single goal and finished the week
01:55:22as the leader in the Super League. We played in the opponent's half
01:55:25and had many goal opportunities.
01:55:39Galatasaray hosted Kocaelispor, coached by Selçuk İnan,
01:55:42at home. Both teams came very close to scoring
01:55:45in the first half. The posts denied them.
01:55:48In the second half,
01:55:51Galatasaray found the goal they were looking for with Abdülkerim Bardakçı.
01:55:55We had one disallowed goal and two shots that hit the post.
01:55:58Galatasaray won the match 1-0 and increased their points to 13.
01:56:01They took over the leadership from Beşiktaş in the Super League.
01:56:05Especially in the first half,
01:56:13we had many chances to go to the opponent's goal We could have done
01:59:35So, is there any preparation for a name change
01:59:38for the new party? Are possible name suggestions being discussed?
01:59:42Details are in our news. Let's walk
01:59:45without stopping and without getting tired,
01:59:48friends. The new party is facing
01:59:52the possibility of a name change before holding its first
01:59:56major ordinary congress.
01:59:57Now, we have established the new party
02:00:01with the demand and pressure of the nation.
02:00:04Nothing has changed in politics. So, why is the New Party
02:00:08facing a name change? Öztürk Yılmaz,
02:00:12the Chairman of the Innovation Party, applied to the Supreme Court
02:00:15due to name similarity. He requested
02:00:19that the new party's name be changed. The Supreme Court informed
02:00:22the New Party management about that application.
02:00:26The New Party is the party of the new politics
02:00:29that Turkey has longed for. The result of the examination
02:00:32regarding the name similarity between the two parties
02:00:35is expected to be clarified within the next one or two months.
02:00:38So, what is being discussed in the New Party circles
02:00:42regarding a possible name change? According to information obtained
02:00:46from the New Party front,
02:00:49why this process.
02:00:52konuşuluyor? Yeni Parti Cephesinden edinilen bilgilere
02:00:55göre bu süreç neden.
