00:04:09Greetings and good time to you, dear viewers of the news channel. We are with you with some
00:04:13economic news. The percentage of fullness of the country's dams is
00:04:16less than 50%.
00:04:19The spokesperson for the country's water industry says that the water resources behind the country's dams are
00:04:23more than 6 billion cubic meters
00:04:27compared to last year, but the percentage of fullness.
00:05:00so that we can get this
00:05:03energy at the required time and provide
00:05:06water. Therefore, when you pass by Amir Kabir Dam,
00:05:10you will see a relatively full dam in reality.
00:05:13You will notice that this is
00:05:15because
00:05:17of this. The head of the Chamber of Guilds of Agriculture and Natural Resources of
00:05:21Iran warned about the reduction in wheat production in the next
00:05:24agricultural year. Peiman Alemi said that delays in
00:05:28paying farmers' dues and problems in fuel supply put
00:05:32additional pressure on agricultural producers.
00:05:35He added that the agricultural fuel quota this year has decreased by about 20%
00:05:39(600 million liters). And despite
00:05:43the promise of allocating 100 million liters of additional
00:05:46fuel, this quota has not yet been delivered
00:05:49to farmers. The head of the Chamber of Agricultural Guilds said that if
00:05:53delays in paying farmers' debts continue, there is a possibility of
00:05:57a significant reduction in the area under cultivation and wheat production in
00:06:00the next agricultural year. Alemi
00:06:04called for expediting the payment of farmers' dues and
00:06:07removing obstacles to fuel supply in the agricultural sector.
00:06:10The managing director of the National Livestock Support and
00:06:13Affairs Company said that from today, the purchase of
00:06:17surplus chicken from the market has started
00:06:20in a supportive manner, and producers can refer to
00:06:24the livestock support departments across the country to
00:06:28offer their products. According to Mr. Jafari, there is no problem in the production and
00:06:31supply of chicken for the second six months of the year, and
00:06:35enough goods have been stored. The
00:06:39Livestock Support Company will start purchasing
00:06:43supportive chicken from today at a price of
00:06:4635,000 Tomans. The chicken that should
00:06:49be delivered to the people's support has a weight between
00:06:52120 (1 kg 200 grams) to 1 kg 800 grams,
00:06:55and all our managers are ready across
00:06:59the country to start this purchase from today. Thank God, we now
00:07:03have very good reserves, and
00:07:06I give this good news to the people that we really do not have a problem in this regard. Enough goods have been
00:07:10prepared and calmly. The
00:07:21Industry and Mine Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly should move towards conditional
00:07:25support in the home appliance industry and instead of a
00:07:28complete ban on imports, apply appropriate tariffs.
00:07:32Why, after 8 years of
00:07:34banning home appliance imports, do the producers
00:07:37in this sector still fear the liberalization of
00:07:41imports?
00:07:47Competitive pricing and choosing the right price
00:07:50lead to a sale of raw materials.
00:07:53This means that we usually receive raw materials at
00:07:57prices higher than international prices, and
00:08:01when the price is higher than the international price, our final
00:08:04product cannot be competitive in our
00:08:07markets, despite the production challenges that have driven
00:08:11up prices.
00:08:15took place, but in June of this year, imports of three items
00:08:19(refrigerators, washing machines, and gas stoves) were banned
00:08:23through this method. Some accuse producers of
00:08:26assembly work. This is the production line for refrigerators and
00:08:29freezers. We buy raw materials as raw
00:08:33materials and bring them here. Mostly, some of our materials are
00:08:36foreign, and some are produced domestically.
00:08:40We have 45 domestically produced
00:09:12items.
00:09:15The head of the Industry and Mine Faction of the Parliament also said that in this area, we should move
00:09:19towards conditional support, meaning increasing import
00:09:22tariffs instead of a complete ban.
00:09:26Safaree News Agency of
00:09:27IRIB.
00:09:30The Minister of Economy said that this week, the first fixed-income
00:09:34foreign exchange fund will be subscribed. These funds provide
00:09:37the possibility of investing foreign exchange physically
00:09:40and with an annual profit. It
00:09:43provides. Tens of billions of dollars
00:09:46are estimated to be outside the official economic cycle as
00:09:50cash in the hands of the people. We have
00:09:54assets that individuals, due to preserving the value
00:09:57of their assets, are outside the system and the production cycle. Now,
00:10:01these resources are to be channeled into investment and production
00:10:05financing through the capital market, instead of just
00:10:09being held. This will be done through fixed-income
00:10:12foreign exchange funds, the subscription for the first of which
00:10:16will begin this week. These funds, in addition to preserving
00:10:20the value of the asset in terms of foreign exchange and gold, will also
00:10:23generate profit.
00:10:26And these resources will be directly used in
00:10:29production. But how do these funds work? These
00:10:33funds are investment funds in foreign
00:10:37exchange assets with fixed foreign exchange income. Their structure
00:10:40is based on the issuance and cancellation of investment units.
00:10:44The investor must deposit their foreign exchange cash or
00:10:48transfer physically through selected foreign exchange bank
00:10:52branches into the fund. The fund manager registers the
00:10:55resources in the investor's name, and upon cancellation,
00:10:59the principal and profit are returned to them in foreign currency.
00:11:02Fund resources are invested in assets and instruments
00:11:06with suitable returns, high liquidity, and
00:11:09low risk, including foreign exchange Murabaha
00:11:13bonds, foreign exchange forward contracts, deposit
00:11:16certificates, and foreign exchange deposits with
00:11:20banks. Foreign exchange funds operate without a break rate and with
00:11:24tax exemption, and according
00:11:27to initial estimates, their annual return in the initial
00:11:30months will be around 5%. Maryam Fadai,
00:11:34IRIB News Agency.
00:11:38The Deputy Minister of Planning and Innovation of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade
00:11:41said that by shifting the holiday in industries, we can
00:11:45save about 120 megawatts of electricity. According
00:11:48to Mr. Shojaei, the issue of shifting the weekly holiday of production units
00:11:52to a day other than Friday
00:11:56was approved by the Supreme Labor Council and announced in a letter to
00:11:59the Director Generals of the Houses of Industry, Mine, and Trade of 31
00:12:02provinces. Our prediction is that at
00:12:06its peak, about 1200 megawatts
00:12:09can actually generate savings.
00:12:13Considering the information provided by our
00:12:16colleagues in the Power Company, this number is around 1200 megawatts,
00:12:20which can largely especially this shift,
00:12:23in other words, the issue of adjusting forces and
00:12:26that situation affected by the
00:12:30imbalance, especially what is happening to
00:12:33the units, can mitigate it to some extent.
00:12:37The Deputy Minister of Housing and Construction of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development announced
00:12:40the provision of housing loans to low-income
00:12:43deciles. According to Mr. Taherkhani, these facilities will be offered
00:12:47at the time of housing delivery with installment repayments
00:12:51over 10 to 15 years. The
00:12:56people, especially low-income and lower
00:12:59deciles, do not have the means to invest. So
00:13:02this government has decided that we should become
00:13:06an alternative to deciles one to four.
00:13:09That is, one of our major problems
00:13:12was that if they cannot invest, the project will face
00:13:16delays and adjustments,
00:13:19and prices will increase. We said, we
00:13:22will replace them. In the framework
00:13:25of asset monetization of lands and properties of the National Organization of New
00:13:29Cities, we have implemented this.
00:13:32That is, the latest report presented at the housing monitoring
00:13:36meeting stated that about 9 deciles have been provided
00:13:39facilities across the country.
00:13:43Thank you for your attention.
00:14:17In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Greetings to you, dear viewers. Good time.
00:14:21I welcome you to the news line at this hour. Despite the fact
00:14:25that water inflow to the country's dams has increased by
00:14:2866% compared to the same period last
00:14:32year, new statistics on the status of dam
00:14:35reservoirs indicate that a number of the country's dams
00:14:38are in an undesirable state. To get information
00:14:41on the latest status of the country's water resources, we have invited
00:14:44Mr. Bozorgzadeh, the spokesperson for the country's water industry, who
00:14:48has come to the news line program today. Mr. Bozorgzadeh, greetings to you.
00:14:51You are very welcome. I also greet you and
00:14:55the dear viewers of the news channel. Hello and welcome. Thank you
00:14:59for accepting our invitation. If you agree, let's start with the statistics
00:15:02on dam fullness. Which of our dams are in an
00:15:05undesirable state, and what is the overall situation of our country's dams?
00:15:09Look, Iran is vast with
00:15:12different climates. When we are talking about Iran, we must
00:15:16realize that you can see four different climates
00:15:19at once in Iran.
00:15:22The statistics that are given
00:15:26for example, it is said that the rainfall is normal, which is true.
00:15:29We have received about 241 millimeters of rainfall
00:15:33during the water year, which starts from the beginning of October
00:15:36until the end of September.
00:15:39According to statistical indicators, this is the average rainfall,
00:15:42which is normal. But the reality is that
00:15:46the south, which either
00:15:49in winter and last
00:15:52winter received good rainfall, or the western
00:15:55region of the country, cannot be compared with other
00:15:59regions. Yes, in some areas, we have had so much rain
00:16:03and precipitation that our dams have filled up and overflowed. Which parts are overflowing
00:16:06now? None right now, but in winter, during the water storage season, I mean,
00:16:10during that time, I mean, generally speaking, from a statistical indicator
00:16:14perspective, a dam fullness of about 50% for this
00:16:18time of year is not bad, it's actually good. Because we
00:16:21usually start our water storage if autumn is rainy,
00:16:25from autumn, otherwise from winter. Well, anyway, we start
00:16:28from mid-winter and usually continue until
00:16:32the end of spring. Of course, there are some differences.
00:16:35The rest of the year, this is the water storage period when we usually
00:16:39have rainfall. We consume water during the rest
00:16:43of the year, and the level keeps dropping until it
00:16:46reaches winter or the next rainy autumn,
00:16:50and then dam storage begins again. This is the
00:16:54customary trend that we have. The reality is that last
00:16:57year, which was a very dry year, about two-thirds
00:17:00of the country's regions had low rainfall
00:17:04and one-third had high rainfall.
00:17:08This year, the ratio is reversed. About one-third
00:17:11has low rainfall and two-thirds has high rainfall,
00:17:15which is a very important event. Two-thirds of the country having high
00:17:19rainfall really makes the situation much easier,
00:17:22but it still means that
00:17:2535 million Iranians are facing water
00:17:29stress. Last year,
00:17:31that number was about 65 million people, which was very
00:17:35difficult for us to get through last year.
00:17:38Now, these low-rainfall regions are about 12
00:17:41provinces. We cannot name all of them in detail, but
00:17:45approximately in which one of them? One of the main
00:17:49ones is definitely Tehran water, meaning Tehran city,
00:17:52Tehran province, Karaj city, Alborz province, and
00:17:56some parts of Qazvin province that are using Tehran's water
00:17:59Khorasan Razavi, especially
00:18:02Mashhad, for example. While our dams are on
00:18:06average.
00:18:10It was also in your report. Regarding
00:18:13the dam, regarding Mashhad, the friendship dam's
00:18:17fullness is only 2%, because the water resources that
00:18:21came from the neighboring country unfortunately did not come. Or regarding
00:18:24the Tariq dam, it's 3%. Regarding Tehran, the hydroelectric
00:18:28dams of Tehran, according to the policy of the Ministry of Energy, which was also in your
00:18:31report, was to keep the hydroelectric dams full
00:18:35so that, given the energy
00:18:37imbalance we had, and now
00:18:40the war has also added to this, this intensity
00:18:44of energy imbalance from the enemy's
00:18:47attack intensified this, so that we can generate
00:18:50energy and water simultaneously from hydroelectric dams,
00:18:54which we were very successful in. That is why, for example, hydroelectric
00:18:58dams like Amir Kabir dam or our main hydroelectric
00:19:01dams in Karun, in Karun at this moment, while
00:19:05the percentage of fullness
00:19:12has passed, they have also produced electricity. Hydroelectric dams have also played
00:19:15a very good role. I would like to tell the dear
00:19:19viewers that this year, hydroelectric dams performed very well. That is,
00:19:23these investments that the country made over
00:19:26these decades and built various dams and hydroelectric
00:19:29dams in Karun, in Dez, and other places,
00:19:33especially in these regions, with the increase in demand,
00:19:36we were able to obtain up to
00:19:3911,500 megawatts of energy
00:19:42from hydroelectric dams for peak hours, of course,
00:19:46to help these projects. We also know that they are very
00:19:50flexible. They enter the grid in a few
00:19:53seconds and exit in a few seconds.
00:19:57You mentioned the provinces that have water stress problems.
00:20:00You mentioned Tehran, Khorasan Razavi, two
00:20:04and the cities of Iraq and our previous cities.
00:20:0858 of our cities are currently experiencing water stress, but the severity
00:20:12varies. Many of these problems have been solved with a few small
00:20:15measures, a few reservoirs, and increased flexibility within
00:20:19our network. So that their problems are partially
00:20:22resolved. Yes, we even managed to manage for
00:20:25Tehran. For Tehran, of course, with
00:20:29the help of the media, with the help of IRIB, various
00:20:32media, and the information campaigns that were carried out,
00:20:36we had very good cooperation. In Tehran, in
00:20:40125 million in consumption management. We consumed
00:20:43less water compared to the previous year, from optimal
00:20:47consumption and reduction of waste, which we have explained many times about
00:20:50various ways and participation. Yes, and the participation
00:20:54of citizens. Citizens really shone in management
00:20:58cooperation with the Ministry of Energy, and it caused
00:21:01us to save water equal to one of Tehran's large dams,
00:21:05like Karaj, for example. In 9 months, 125 million, and over a year,
00:21:09even higher amounts. We were
00:21:12able to reduce water consumption from our surface
00:21:16water resources, and year, five dams
00:21:20in Tehran, most of them had reached dead volume.
00:21:23Taleghan, Latyan,
00:21:25the dollar dam, and also Amir Kabir dam, you remember
00:21:29people used to go there and film, they used to ride motorcycles in
00:21:33the reservoir. But thank God, first God
00:21:37helped, then the people, and then through the measures taken
00:21:40by my colleagues in the Ministry
00:21:43of Urban Planning, because citizen participation in
00:21:46optimal consumption is an important issue, you are giving examples
00:21:50of this. Look at the method, because apparently this situation
00:21:54still continues, especially for Tehran. It's up to us to
00:21:58reduce water waste with various adjustments and various
00:22:02measures, but a large part of it also
00:22:05depends on different citizens. Please don't blame us
00:22:09for putting all the burden of consumption management on citizens.
00:22:12No, really, in this section, you and
00:22:15I, as citizens, must help. One of the most important things
00:22:19is to reduce the time spent showering
00:22:23and personal hygiene, and eating and drinking, and such
00:22:26things. Excessive cooking does not really consume
00:22:29water. Water consumption is mostly
00:22:33in situations where we are dealing with hygiene matters. For
00:22:37example, reduce the time spent showering, or
00:22:40for example, when we are showering, turn off
00:22:44the water tap when using the shower or washing hair.
00:22:47Or when brushing our teeth, turn off the water
00:22:51tap. Or when we are washing our hands, do not open
00:22:54the tap completely, open it halfway. These
00:22:58are the considerations for consumption, as well as the
00:23:02water-saving equipment that we add. That is, we have
00:23:05now distributed about 2 million water-saving devices
00:23:08in Tehran, which will continue for the first
00:23:12three months of the year, and we need to reach about
00:23:166-7 million water-saving devices.
00:23:22So that we can manage consumption. This is in our plan. The distribution of water-saving devices
00:23:26is also strongly in our plan so that we can achieve higher
00:23:30consumption management. Your plans and decisions
00:23:33for the provinces and cities that you particularly mentioned,
00:23:37starting with Tehran, then Khorasan Razavi, you also mentioned Iraq
00:23:40and Syria, but there are several other provinces and several other
00:23:44cities that will have to endure this water stress that
00:23:47you mentioned, through autumn and
00:23:50winter. What decisions have you made for them? Each city
00:23:54has a plan, because we have to get through this, right? Yes, each city has
00:23:57its own specific plan. Some cities, like the cities in Khuzestan,
00:24:01mostly get their water from surface water resources. Some
00:24:05cities, like the cities in South Khorasan, mostly get their water
00:24:08from groundwater resources. Cities like Tehran and Karaj
00:24:12get their water from a combination of surface and groundwater
00:24:15resources with different percentages. For each
00:24:19city, we predict that in a few
00:24:36months. One issue is that recently, the Ministry of Energy has been making efforts
00:24:40to utilize development opportunities in the post-war era.
00:24:43After all, the issue of development is also very important, in addition
00:24:47to needing management. You said that you have also formed
00:24:51the National House for post-war efforts. What has been done and what
00:24:54plans do you have? First, let me explain to
00:24:58you briefly. I have a few minutes, two and a half, three
00:25:01minutes. Look, when
00:25:04we study post-wars and also the
00:25:08theories that have been put forward, we observe
00:25:11that in various wars that have occurred in the world,
00:25:14such as World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam
00:25:18War, many of these countries,
00:25:20with the help of the intelligence and ingenuity that they have,
00:25:24the cooperation of citizens, and also the correct
00:25:27leadership of development
00:25:29leaders, have been able to change the direction of
00:25:33development and organize their decision-making and policy-making systems.
00:25:36Look, wars, with all their ugly faces and
00:25:40their hideous faces, we do not want to whitewash wars,
00:25:44but because they create a
00:25:47tremendous unity and solidarity among the nation.
00:25:51Managers who are more self-sacrificing and care
00:25:54more about the country become more prominent
00:25:58during wartime and gain more decision-making authority
00:26:02in various places, and people's minds also become
00:26:06ready for major events because there has been a war, and people
00:26:09are also ready to accept good decisions
00:26:13and events. These opportunities cause wars to
00:26:16later, in the post-war period, be transformed
00:26:20by managers who are aware into
00:26:24a window of opportunity for correcting the path of
00:26:27development. How do you use this opportunity to turn destructive wars
00:26:30into productive wars? To turn these destructions
00:26:34into creative destructions? The Ministry of Energy
00:26:37and not just the Ministry of Energy, but now the private
00:26:41sector, various parts of it, universities, NGOs,
00:26:44a national movement, started from the Ministry of Energy, but it is not
00:26:48limited to the Ministry of Energy. Everyone is helping. We have established
00:26:51a secretariat for post-war and development that is supposed
00:26:55to be the separate intellect of development. It is not
00:26:58supposed to be part of where it is now. In what stage are you now?
00:27:12As an independent, impartial, national, benevolent and knowledgeable institution,
00:27:15we evaluate decisions and clarify
00:27:19the consequences of those decisions so that
00:27:22we can make correct decisions, God willing. Thank you very much,
00:27:26Mr. Bozorgzadeh, Spokesperson for the country's water industry, for coming to the news channel studio.
00:27:29And to you, dear viewers, who were watching the news line at this hour. Thank you very much!
00:28:04This has been an incredible couple of days, Antonio. So
00:28:08many things have gone on. Just last Thursday,
00:28:10we were worried about the complexity of the Iran war
00:28:14centered on the strait. Today, we're worried about Hormuz,
00:28:17Baba, overland, uh
00:28:20uh oil pipes, uh going through Saudi Arabia, renewed
00:28:24fighting in Yemen, attacks launched from Iraq against Saudi
00:28:27infrastructure, Saudi Arabia asking Washington for
00:28:30military help, and the... being turned down, uh,
00:28:34Riyadh deciding how much to provide to Yemen and defending against
00:28:37renewed Houthi attacks. I could go on and on, but in
00:28:41the last 70 days, seven days, we've seen something that I like to term
00:28:44the the speed of war, and it is
00:28:47phenomenal. And truly, it's because of what the Houthis are
00:28:53the greater efforts of Iran in that region. If
00:28:57we're just worried about the Strait of Hormuz, we've got a lot more to
00:29:00worry about than just that, as this work and continues to expand, countries
00:29:04booming, Iran will end right after the maybe before, but it'll
00:29:08end right after the midterms. Gasoline
00:29:11is going to drop like a rock. General, what is the percent chance that
00:29:14any of that is going to happen?
00:29:16Zero. Antonio, I mean, I hate to say it, but it's
00:29:200%. We're dealing with economic asymmetric
00:29:23approach by Iran and now some of their allies, and we're
00:29:27seeing, as as Bobby just said, a lot of the Middle Eastern
00:29:30allies are turning away because they don't can't depend on us
00:29:33anymore. So when you're talking about affecting the
00:29:37global economy, it will certainly affect the American
00:29:40economy, and we're seeing that. But it also
00:29:43basically pushes our friends away. So there is very little chance. The President
00:29:47keeps painting a very positive picture of
00:29:50all this. The the the interesting thing about Iran, they
00:29:54know they're able to affect the United States based on the
00:29:58upcoming election. They do not have the same problem. They
00:30:02can do...
