00:13:30On the occupied West Bank, tensions are not easing.
00:13:33Palestinian families in the village of Kusra have been under
00:13:36siege by extremist Israeli settlers for days. Their goal is
00:13:40clear: to force residents to leave so they can take over their
00:13:43homes. Water and electricity have been cut off to the families,
00:13:47and access to homes is blocked. Although these are
00:13:50illegal actions, the Israeli army on the ground, instead of protecting them,

00:13:57claiming it is a closed military zone.
00:14:01The view from this Palestinian home is the same from every

00:14:18over. They've cut water and power lines and have

00:14:29residents first called the Israeli military. The soldiers

00:14:36the settlers and they start praying with the
00:14:40settlers and absolutely did nothing to protect

00:14:47owns one of those houses. A Palestinian American, he's
00:14:51watched all of this unfold from Ohio.
00:14:55And this is what he saw on Wednesday, the
00:14:58Israeli military trying and ultimately failing to remove the
00:15:02settlers from the area.
00:15:05Hours later, we drive up the hill to see if anything has changed.
00:15:09So these are actually the three homes that have been
00:15:12besieged by these settlers for four days now. Uh, we're going to try
00:15:16and climb up this hill, see if we can get past the
00:15:19settlers. We are blocking the area. The settlers
00:15:23are still there, and so are two Israeli soldiers who order us
00:15:27to stop and turn off our vehicle. The
00:15:30soldier tells me this is now a closed military area, and that we're
00:15:33interfering with military activity.
00:15:46an IDF spokesperson said the order does apply to the settlers, but it's clearly not being enforced. They're telling us that it's a closed military zone that we're not allowed to
