00:07:41define. um a certain segment in
00:07:45in what they do and where language is
00:07:48necessary for them, so it preserves
00:07:51the complete history of the people of Bosnia from its
00:07:55first written traces to today, its perhaps

00:08:01experts point out, is that it contains
00:08:04more than a hundred writers from Bosnia and
00:08:08Herzegovina through examples of those words that are used, that is that one authenticity
00:08:12that we haven't had with these dictionaries
00:08:16that have been published so far, and that multi-volume
00:08:19dictionary presents the speakers
00:08:22of the Bosnian language in a new dimension, not only in
00:08:26the countries of the region, but also in Europe, in the world, and this
00:08:29dictionary should find its place in all
00:08:32Slavistic departments in the world, of which there are 137, so it is also
00:08:36practically a written history of the country of Bosnia, because everything that
00:08:39is written is preserved
00:08:43through language, which is why language is one of the fundamental identities of any

00:09:17their mother tongue is Bosnian, that actually represents that integral
00:09:20component in Bosnia and Herzegovina for everyone who
00:09:24feels Bosnia is their country, their homeland, the foundation is therefore
00:09:27language, that it contains a series
00:09:30of proofs of the existence of the Bosnian language,
00:09:34is that the best scientific answer to those who deny the Bosnian
00:09:38language and its existence, so this
00:09:41denial of the language itself is complete nonsense, it is therefore
00:09:44impossible, however, by denying the Bosnian language, you deny
00:09:48the country, you deny the state, those are actually the goals of those who are trying
00:09:51to in a completely primitive way deny the existence of a

00:09:58from the Middle Ages to today, one of the oldest
00:10:01languages, you will see in scientific literature that, I don't
00:10:05know, Vuk Karadžić, the reformer of the Serbian language, so

00:10:50Serbo-Croatian was introduced in Yugoslavia, I think the language

00:10:57between nations or speakers, it should actually
00:11:00represent the culture and history
00:11:04of a nation, and it's like a flower in a garden
00:11:07of diversity in this world that has its own scent, its own
00:11:11color, and practically it beautifies that garden, language cannot be the one that
00:11:15will create obstacles, barriers or discord among people,
00:11:18yes, you mentioned that the Institute for Language
00:11:21of the University of Sarajevo is joining the project.
00:11:25"How important is that to you for the stability of this project, given that there are still
00:11:2811 volumes ahead of you and about ten years of work on
00:11:32them? Well, the most important fact is that at the
00:11:35institute, uh people are gathered, so
00:11:39it is a public institution, where all experts in
00:11:43that field are gathered as scientific research associates,
00:11:46advisors uh in that institution,
00:11:50what uh we expect in the coming period is that
00:11:54that oldest institute that deals with
00:11:57the question of language will get its prefix Bosnian, but that
00:12:01it will be a center, not only for other faculties,
00:12:04universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but throughout the region, because
00:12:08you have speakers of the Bosnian language or Bosniaks in Serbia, Montenegro,
00:12:12Croatia, Macedonia, Kosovo,
00:12:14Slovenia, uh, Austria, diaspora,
00:12:17America, Europe and so on, and they have
00:12:20a need, especially through the educational system when learning
00:12:24a language. they have some fundamental elements, namely grammar,
00:12:27orthography dictionary, who is responsible from Bosnia and
00:12:31Herzegovina to ensure that those people are provided
00:12:34with what we would call some standardization,
00:12:37these are precisely the institutes like ours, however
00:12:40the constitutional legal arrangement of Bosnia and
00:12:42Herzegovina, where these competencies are at the cantonal
00:12:46level, has completely destroyed the educational system, then
00:12:49these scientific research institutions, in this
00:12:52way, still one public. We have therefore for this
00:12:56dictionary, as we also have a
00:12:59monumental project published by the Institute for History,
00:13:02also of the University of Sarajevo, so the first written multi-volume
00:13:06history of Bosnia in six volumes, so there were no new
00:13:09researches, but a sublimation of all those
00:13:12researches in the previous 40 years, uh,
00:13:15unfortunately, people who manage institutions at all
00:13:19levels of government either don't know or don't want to
00:13:23know the importance of these
00:13:25monumental projects, because that actually represents our country,
00:13:29what is their importance, here on
00:13:32the international stage, well, that is
00:13:35undisputed, they probably don't know, so let's see, well, just take Hasan
00:13:39Ginac, I don't know, the writing of, say, perhaps
00:13:42the greatest writer in that period,
00:13:45Goethe, about that one poem, so uh that
00:13:49defines the identity of a complete nation and presents it in the most beautiful and
00:13:52best way, or take Sidran and
00:13:55Mišimović, so all those writers, Dizdar Selimović and so on, that is
00:13:59the fundamental culture of a nation, so what is expressed
00:14:02through language, what we inherited from our fathers,
00:14:05grandfathers, ancestors and so on, uh, that
00:14:09unfortunately real politics almost does not
00:14:12recognize, that is the defeat of society, because uh
00:14:16with these economic parameters, military and so
00:14:20on, these are some rules that the big ones dictate, but
00:14:23countries... many countries, small states, those
00:14:27that have such a rich culture as Bosnia and which has
00:14:30shown not only through these segments
00:14:33of culture, but also through many others, that there is such
00:14:37a richness that actually needs to be presented to all
00:14:40those who know almost nothing about us, very little
00:14:44know, because we saw during the aggression what kind of
00:14:48position or attitude there was towards Bosnia that that nation was reduced to
00:14:51some religious component, actually.
00:14:55that national or national identity,
00:14:59faith is there in the segment of a traditional value,
00:15:02we have today in Bosnia and Herzegovina a law on religious communities and churches,
00:15:06that's what it's called, so these religious issues are defined, and what we
00:15:10noticed through
00:15:12the promotion of this dictionary, this monumental work, and
00:15:16through our forums with a large number of professors and
00:15:19academics from the fields of social sciences and humanities, that citizens

00:16:00that the Bosnian language is completely denied in schools,
00:16:03what kind of support will this dictionary give to parents?"
00:16:09who are fighting every legal and other
00:16:13battle for the survival of their mother tongue in
00:16:16school, so children themselves in, I don't know, primary
00:16:20schools cannot have much benefit because they don't even know how

00:16:30engaged in any activity in the field of culture,
