00:00:24Good evening, dear viewers, and welcome to
00:00:26the news.
00:00:30Reactions continue after the burial of war criminal Ratko Mladić with all honors
00:00:33in Serbia. Minister Heles invited the military attaché of Bosnia and Herzegovina in
00:00:37Serbia for consultations. Konaković wrote to the European Union and the United
00:00:41Nations. 14 parliamentarians submitted an initiative for
00:00:44use. Reactions to the suspension of the agreement between Serbia and Republika Srpska.
00:00:48As long as there is such a system in the Republic of Serbia
00:00:51which, with all military
00:00:54honors, buried its
00:00:57general, therefore, this is the strongest evidence against
00:01:01Serbia that Bosnia can
00:01:02use.
00:01:06From tonight's news, we also highlight these
00:01:08stories.
00:01:12CIK issued tens of thousands of marks in fines to parties and candidates
00:01:16for premature campaigning. At the same time, public trust in the electoral process in Bosnia
00:01:19and Herzegovina remains at an extremely low level. Young people are undecided whether
00:01:23to go to the polls or not. Honestly, I wouldn't vote
00:01:27for anyone in this country. The new system
00:01:30of voting speaks and gives the possibility
00:01:33of change, there is no candidate for whom I would currently vote if
00:01:37he were
00:01:38suitable.
00:01:42The Croatian government does have a solution for a part of the waste in Gospić,
00:01:45650 tons of non-hazardous waste will still be removed without a new
00:01:49tender. Initiatives ask, if it was possible, why did
00:01:53they wait?
00:01:56Donald Trump promises that if Republicans win the mid-term elections in November,
00:02:00every American will get $5,000. He promises
00:02:04that the war with Iran will be over immediately after those
00:02:07elections.
00:02:10A change in weather is coming, precipitation, lower
00:02:13the minister also temperatures.
00:02:18In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the glorification of a war criminal remains
00:02:21unpunished. The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has still not opened
00:02:25a case, but politically punishing the insult of a war
00:02:28criminal is happening. In Bijeljina, the vice-president of the assembly was dismissed
00:02:31because of it. In the meantime, at the state level, an initiative was sent for
00:02:35the suspension of special relations between the entity Republika Srpska and
00:02:38the state of Serbia. The Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina called the military
00:02:42attaché of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Serbia for urgent
00:02:44consultations. Instead of facing the past and
00:02:48recognizing legally established facts, and punishment for those who celebrate and
00:02:52glorify a war criminal, in the political reality of the entity Republika Srpska,
00:02:55insulting Ratko Mladić, convicted of genocide,
00:02:59crimes against humanity, and a joint criminal enterprise, is punished. At
00:03:02the session of the Bijeljina Assembly, as in a parallel reality, those who
00:03:06glorify the war criminal were offended, while the vice-president of the assembly
00:03:09apologizes for the wrong word for the war criminal.
00:03:12Namely, on that 10th day, so
00:03:15to speak, on the 27th, on social media, I started getting
00:03:19news about the death of Ratko Mladić and preparing for
00:03:22the meeting of the election headquarters, I picked up that information from a
00:03:25friend from Facebook, transferred
00:03:28it to you know Sara, that
00:03:30most of you use it lately,
00:03:34I re-combined a few words and posted it as
00:03:38an album. First of all,
00:03:41I want to state a fact that
00:03:44as a human being,
00:03:48I am disappointed and concerned. On the other hand, from the
00:03:51European Union, condemnations of the glorification of a war criminal. EU Commissioner for
00:03:55Enlargement, Marta Kos, spoke about her cancellation of her visit
00:03:59to Belgrade as a sign of protest. Can you imagine how I could ever
00:04:02look into the eyes of the mothers of Srebrenica who lost numerous
00:04:06family members? They suffered the most, but they are still
00:04:10a symbol of reconciliation, they said that they do not forget, but
00:04:13forgive, and that we must all work on it. That is something I
00:04:17expect from Serbia, especially as a candidate country for membership.
00:04:20This was discussed at the session of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European
00:04:24Parliament. Member of the European People's Party, Davor
00:04:27Ivoštir, emphasized that Serbia is the only country in the Western
00:04:30Balkans that pursues a multi-vector foreign policy, or
00:04:33, simply put, tries to sit on two
00:04:36chairs. He stated that in Montenegro, internal destabilization
00:04:39occurred after the Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandić
00:04:43offered condolences to the son of a Hague convict. In any
00:04:46case, we are witnessing the destabilization
00:04:49of the situation in Montenegro, and you see that
00:04:52this situation where we have a multi-vector policy in
00:04:55Belgrade is something that can very easily
00:04:58destabilize the situation in neighboring countries. Due to the glorification of the war
00:05:02criminal, destabilization occurred in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 14 deputies
00:05:06in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly
00:05:09of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated today. Because of this, the deputies call on
00:05:13the High Representative, the EU, the United States of America,
00:05:16the United Kingdom and other states, witnesses to the Dayton Agreement,
00:05:20to urgently review the implementation of the agreement on special and
00:05:24parallel relations between Serbia and Republika Srpska. The SNSD parliamentary club
00:05:27reacted in the House of Representatives, saying that relations
00:05:31with Serbia will not be reduced or severed, just
00:05:34because someone in Sarajevo objects to it. They state that the current relation
00:05:38is allowed by the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina. As long as
00:05:41such a system exists in the Republic of Serbia, which
00:05:44with all military honors
00:05:48buried its general, therefore, it is
00:05:51the strongest evidence against Serbia that Bosnia can
00:05:57the massive glorification of the war criminal continue. The Minister of Foreign
00:06:00Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, sent a letter to all
00:06:04members of the United Nations, in which he requested that they publicly
00:06:07condemn the institutional glorification of Ratko Mladić. He called
00:06:11on all UN member states to impose targeted sanctions and other restrictive
00:06:14measures against public officials from Serbia. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić,
00:06:18however, believes that the funeral served as
00:06:22Delić, N1.
00:06:25The Central
00:06:29Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina fined the "Safe Srpska" movement
00:06:33and its president Draško Stanivuković a total of 37,500
00:06:37convertible marks through two separate cases for premature
00:06:40campaigning. CIK fined SNS. it with 5,500 convertible marks for
00:06:44a post on the X network by Staša Košarac which, they say,
00:06:47spreads disinformation about new election technologies.
00:06:51The NiP coalition, the Pensioners' Party, and NiP candidate for the Canton Sarajevo Assembly,
00:06:54Adnan Delić, were fined 3,500 convertible
00:06:58marks each for a Facebook post that was deemed a premature election
00:07:02campaign. CIK suspended proceedings against SNSD president
00:07:05Milorad Dodik, stating that it was a critical review of election
00:07:09technologies that he published in an author's text, not
00:07:12the spread of misinformation. By majority vote, it was decided that the decision of the Government
00:07:16of Republika Srpska to approve money for one-time assistance to pensioners was not
00:07:20an abuse of public resources before
00:07:22the elections.
00:07:28The Coalition for Free and Fair Elections under the Magnifying Glass presented the results
00:07:31of the latest public opinion poll on citizens' trust in elections
00:07:35in Bosnia and Herzegovina and citizen information. Citizens' trust
00:07:38in the electoral process in Bosnia and Herzegovina remains at an extremely low level.
00:07:42Most citizens believe that elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina are not free and fair,
00:07:46which indicates deep-seated distrust in the
00:07:49electoral process, the belief of a large number of citizens that
00:07:52irregularities can affect the actual electoral will. What
00:07:55is extremely positive, they point out, is that the majority of citizens express
00:07:59high support for the introduction of new electoral technologies as a measure to
00:08:03prevent electoral
00:08:04irregularities.
00:08:07When asked whether they support the introduction of new electoral technologies, i.e.,
00:08:11electronic identification of voters, scanners for ballot
00:08:14papers as a way of fighting electoral fraud and
00:08:17irregularities, 80.4%
00:08:20of citizens answered affirmatively, while
00:08:2219.6% do not support their introduction.
00:08:26Support is present in both entities, somewhat more pronounced in the Federation of Bosnia and
00:08:30Herzegovina, where it is 84.15%, while in Republika Srpska it is
00:08:3475.35%.
00:08:38And the trust of young people in elections is a special story, although the pre-election
00:08:42campaign in Bosnia and Herzegovina is already in full swing, there is not much
00:08:46enthusiasm among young people. Some of them say that they will not go to the polls,
00:08:50disappointed with the political offers and messages they have been hearing
00:08:53for years. For those who will vote for the first time, the choice of whom
00:08:57to trust is even more difficult.
00:09:00For some young people, these will be the first elections in which they have the right
00:09:03to vote, yet some of those we spoke to say they
00:09:07will not go to the polls. They do not believe that elections can change
00:09:11anything. They are familiar with the political offer and, as
00:09:15they say, they have no one to vote for. I didn't plan to,
00:09:18honestly, for a few more years, since I've been an adult, I haven't gone
00:09:22to the polls, I don't know who I would vote for, honestly, I wouldn't vote for
00:09:25anyone in this country, as it is currently. And I haven't voted for
00:09:2920 years, I don't know why I would now,
00:09:33what repels young people first and foremost
00:09:35from voting, common sense, roughly, there is no
00:09:39candidate for whom I would currently vote that is...
00:09:43Suitable, I generally believe that the negative political situation
00:09:47and dissatisfaction will not force, in quotation marks,
00:09:50force young people to go to new elections, although the new voting system
00:09:54speaks and gives the possibility
00:09:57of change, I think it would be good if they went out to
00:10:00vote because we can restore trust in institutions.
00:10:04As a problem, they also highlight the campaign that is repeated from cycle to
00:10:07cycle, with the same inflammatory rhetoric that again opens
00:10:11old divisions instead of talking about what citizens
00:10:14really need today. Sometimes I would really cry for the simple reason that
00:10:18three decades have passed, hmm, since the war,
00:10:21since all the events, genocide, aggression.
00:10:25to now see the same narratives again, my Sergej is
00:10:2818 years old, so he can vote for the first time, what should
00:10:32I even advise him who to vote for? The approach has not
00:10:35changed, explain communication experts.
00:10:38Instead of new topics and concrete solutions, politicians still
00:10:42rely on familiar messages and recognizable party
00:10:45marketing. This, they add, can hardly animate younger
00:10:49voters. They use old ideas, they use
00:10:52worn-out phrases, they use.
00:10:55What we can say, what doesn't attract young people, is
00:10:58that old outfit that leans on some
00:11:02socialist period. A different approach is possible on social
00:11:05networks, but for that, says Kapetanović, greater
00:11:09independence and decisiveness of candidates are needed,
00:11:11they must have something called
00:11:14disobedience to the party leader, in
00:11:17our country, one central office generates,
00:11:21I think, and directs, gives instructions.
00:11:25"I can say to all parties, and we see that through visuals, we see
00:11:29that through different messages, young people recognize it easily, because
00:11:32young people are taught and see that
00:11:35they are, I mean, they were born with a digital screen and they see
00:11:39some other elections and some other campaigns. Young people don't necessarily give up
00:11:43on elections because they are not interested in politics, but because
00:11:47the offer of candidates does not change for years, while they are offered
00:11:50the same faces and the same messages, it is hard to expect
00:11:54that this year..." they will find a reason to cast their vote for
00:11:57someone. Fedja Kulina,
00:11:59N1.
00:12:01And young political scientists from the region gathered in Sarajevo. In the parliamentary
00:12:05assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the first forum of young political scientists of Bosnia
00:12:09and Herzegovina began, which gathered more than
00:12:1245 young political scientists from BiH,
00:12:15Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro and Slovenia. During the three-day forum,
00:12:18diplomacy, public policies, comparative politics, identity
00:12:21politics, but also political systems of Bosnia and Herzegovina
00:12:24and countries in the region will be discussed. Professors from political science
00:12:27faculties, diplomats and representatives of international organizations
00:12:30and institutions participate in the program. The goal is to connect
00:12:34young people involved in political science, enable them
00:12:37to exchange knowledge and experience, and open space for future
00:12:41cooperation.
00:12:43We are very pleased that with the support of our sponsors
00:12:47we managed to organize such an event
00:12:50in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina
00:12:53and that the capital city of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina
00:12:57will be from Friday, from Thursday, Friday and Saturday
00:13:01in the next three days the host
00:13:03of speeches and meetings of young political scientists
00:13:07from the region and that we will talk about current political
00:13:10situations, political
00:13:12processes.
00:13:15Unfortunately, what is happening is that people who know a lot about the state and
00:13:18society, and having in mind our political circumstances, shy away from
00:13:21dealing with this kind of politics, so...
00:13:25it is necessary for these young political scientists from the countries of the region
00:13:29to change that politics and adapt it to themselves,
00:13:32not for them to adapt
00:13:34to politics.
00:13:36Patients before elections are looking for concrete answers from political
00:13:40parties about the healthcare system. The "Vote for
00:13:43Life" initiative, which gathers more than 35 patient associations from our
00:13:46country, launched the campaign: "Ask, seek
00:13:50an answer". Waiting lists, unavailable
00:13:53therapies, lack of doctors, corruption are some of the problems
00:13:57that citizens recognize in the healthcare system, however
00:14:00experiences are not the same, corruption, hmm,
00:14:04how much is there, I don't know what else, whenever
00:14:07you come, you can't get your turn to ask for what you
00:14:10need, but you have to bribe, they already
00:14:14ask for money, as far as I know, I have no problems
00:14:17with the term, you get appointments five, six months in advance
00:14:21to wait, then they send you to private doctors, private...
00:14:25it ends up being a little messy,
00:14:28everything is in order, mhm, you never encountered any
00:14:32obstacles, more doctors need to be hired,
00:14:35financial resources need to be found, and whatever else, the
00:14:38ministers know, I think there are few doctors who cover
00:14:41everything, will the program of a certain party, which
00:14:45will include solving problems in healthcare,
00:14:49that's already politics, surely it will, let them
00:14:52promise more citizens. better
00:14:55healthcare, a better healthcare system and I think there will be some
00:14:59results if those promises are fulfilled. That is why
00:15:03patient associations do not only ask political subjects for
00:15:06promises about healthcare reform, but also concrete answers.
00:15:09They sent them questions about how they plan to solve the problem
00:15:13of drug availability and ensure regular updates
00:15:16of lists, abolish waiting lists for therapies, establish
00:15:19a unified register of patients, treatment outcomes, improve
00:15:23the protection of patient rights, and ensure their active
00:15:26involvement in the decision-making process. We believe that
00:15:30citizens have the right, before casting their vote, to know what
00:15:34concrete answers and measures certain political
00:15:37subjects offer, and when it comes to health, answers cannot be
00:15:41general. It is not enough to tell a patient waiting for medicine
00:15:44that the healthcare system will one day be better. It is not enough to tell
00:15:48a patient waiting for therapy for months that there will be
00:15:51healthcare reform. Patients need concrete
00:15:55measures, clear deadlines, accountability
00:15:57and results. For patients, however, the problem is not just what
00:16:01the system promises them, but how much they have to fight for their rights
00:16:05themselves. Patients have been forced to
00:16:08fend for themselves, to write letters, to seek
00:16:12meetings, to explain why they need
00:16:15medicine, treatment, to prove that their right
00:16:19actually exists. The healthcare system should
00:16:23not function like that. Therefore, a patient should
00:16:26not be the person who fights the most to exercise
00:16:30their rights and their treatment. One of the concrete
00:16:33demands refers to the availability of modern therapies, especially for
00:16:37patients with serious malignant diseases,
00:16:3970% of oncology patients enter the
00:16:42healthcare system only after the appearance of
00:16:46symptoms, and that data clearly shows the state
00:16:50of our healthcare system, that it must
00:16:53change. A proposal for a new
00:16:57revision, i.e.,
00:17:00a revised list, has been made, and in that list, according
00:17:03to our information and that of professionals and doctors who were
00:17:09involved in preparing such a list, new therapies, new molecules, as
00:17:13in all advanced healthcare systems
00:17:17in Europe and the world, however, uh,
00:17:20formally bureaucratically
00:17:22that list has not been adopted by the government.
00:17:26Therefore, they demand that political parties declare themselves on these
00:17:29issues before the elections, not only what they will
00:17:32change, but also when and how, because for patients, deadlines
00:17:36are not political, but a matter of quality of life.
00:17:40Nataša Kerezović,
00:17:41N1.
00:17:44Stay tuned for the news, continuing
00:17:45on.
00:17:49The storm in Serbia does not subside after the case of sexual harassment of a child
00:17:52in Mrčajevci. The prosecution first claimed it was inappropriate
00:17:56behavior, only for it to later turn out that it was indeed a criminal
00:18:00offense.
00:18:04After a year and a half of waiting, the government of Croatia has found a solution for a part
00:18:08of the waste in Gospić, two domestic cement factories will take it,
00:18:12and the remediation should be completed within 45 days,
00:18:16but Gospić still faces a much larger problem, 33,000 tons
00:18:19of buried waste for which it is still not known when it will be removed,
00:18:23why the remediation was delayed for a year and a half, is the government's plan really
00:18:27a solution or just a new
00:18:29beginning?
00:18:31Remediation is now urgent, after a year and a half of waiting and two
00:18:35failed public procurements, after Tabak Grupa. then gave up
00:18:38remediation, the government is now moving to Plan B. For 650 tons
00:18:42of waste from large bags in Gospić, no new tender will be
00:18:45announced. After the fund
00:18:49annulled the decision on the selection
00:18:52of the bidder, we reacted swiftly and in parallel and agreed that
00:18:56two domestic cement factories, Holcing Hrvatska
00:18:59and Nexe, with whom we had discussions these
00:19:03days, will be the ones who will
00:19:06carry out this procedure, at a total value
00:19:09of up to 357,500
00:19:13euros. The waste from Gospić should be removed within
00:19:1645 days. However, the Gospić Our Home initiative
00:19:20wonders why such a solution was waited
00:19:22for so long. We have, from the beginning, actually, in a way,
00:19:26warned about urgent situations and that such
00:19:29solutions should be implemented much earlier. We even
00:19:33suggested last year that the dangerous part of
00:19:36the waste should be urgently covered, so that in a way
00:19:40everything the government is doing now confirms that we were
00:19:43right with all our proposals.
00:19:47The opposition also asks, to say that this is a swift reaction
00:19:51is, at the very least, ridiculous. This is just proof that the Croatian
00:19:55government has absolutely no remediation plan,
00:19:58that they are still struggling, that this
00:20:02is wandering and remediation of political damage,
00:20:05if cement plants will handle this waste,
00:20:09they must explain to Croatian citizens what kind
00:20:12of waste they can dispose of. From Holcim, which
00:20:16takes over half of the waste, they say, it is about
00:20:19300 tons of non-hazardous waste that will be recycled
00:20:23as part of regular cement production, the material that will be
00:20:26taken over does not differ in its properties from fuel from
00:20:30waste that Holcim uses in daily cement production,
00:20:33it poses no danger to employees or the local
00:20:37community, and emissions will remain below limit
00:20:40values. The government also announces the establishment of an expert team that should
00:20:44explain to the public expert opinions, findings and reports
00:20:48on the consequences of pollution.
00:20:50The opposition responds that the findings published by USKOK are already
00:20:53sufficiently clear. We have USKOK's expert opinion
00:20:56and now Plenković is asking, look, from people and putting
00:21:00pressure on those who are experts in these
00:21:03cases to speak publicly and explain something, if these are
00:21:07expert opinions, they are quite clear, certain harmful
00:21:10substances have been found in groundwater and soil, there is
00:21:14no great wisdom needed here, so we need to know if these substances
00:21:18are harmful or not harmful to people. 650 tons of waste in
00:21:22bags is only a small part of the problem, the biggest and still
00:21:24unresolved part of the remediation is 33,000 tons of
00:21:28buried waste. Its removal began on Tuesday and
00:21:32will last 15 days, and companies from France,
00:21:35Belgium, Greece, Hungary and Croatia have expressed interest.
00:21:39At the same time, the covering of the buried waste is being prepared
00:21:42to reduce the risk of further pollution. We cannot at
00:21:46this moment certainly promise that we will completely
00:21:50remove and dispose of the buried waste
00:21:53in Gospić within three months. My latest
00:21:56information is that there were no complaints, and I expect that
00:22:00the buried waste will be covered as soon as possible.
00:22:04After a year and a half, it seems that Gospić will finally welcome the first
00:22:07trucks that will take away the waste, but there is still no answer
00:22:11to the question of when the last one will leave. Katarina Plantak
00:22:14N1,
00:22:17Zagreb. The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Čačak
00:22:20announced yesterday that in connection with the case of sexual harassment in a school
00:22:24in Mrčajevci, a request for the initiation of preliminary proceedings against two minors
00:22:27was launched, while the third person at that time was under 14 years old
00:22:31and is considered a child. How much the storm that arose in the public regarding
00:22:35this case helped, and how much it hindered
00:22:38the investigation, but also the victim.
00:22:42The sexual violence that occurred in the school in Mrčajevci shook
00:22:46all of Serbia, and for the institutions, it had
00:22:49different. names. Four days after the incident,
00:22:52the Čačak prosecutor's office announced that the minor
00:22:55student was neither raped nor abused, but that it was only
00:22:59inappropriate behavior for exhibitionism, and
00:23:03reacted. So, there is no question that such a thing
00:23:07happened, something did happen that is not appropriate, an appropriate
00:23:10form of behavior among children. Parents
00:23:14of students interpreted this as a cover-up and organized
00:23:18protests in front of the school, only after that the same
00:23:22prosecutor's office announced that there was indeed sexual
00:23:25harassment and initiated preliminary proceedings against two
00:23:29students of this school. It was determined that during
00:23:33the mentioned event, the minor victim suffered
00:23:36certain sexual harassment, which,
00:23:38having in mind the acts of commission, is prescribed
00:23:41as a criminal offense of sexual harassment. In that
00:23:45cacophony and speculation about legal qualifications,
00:23:48experts say, what should be at the center of attention,
00:23:52the child's well-being, was lost. Both the child
00:23:55and, probably with the support of the parents,
00:23:59were brave enough to report it, and now it has been
00:24:03made into such a sensation that I cannot imagine what
00:24:06the future of that child will look like regardless of the
00:24:09outcome
00:24:12that may happen to the perpetrators. The school
00:24:16decided that the victim would continue to attend classes regularly,
00:24:19while the suspected bullies will learn
00:24:22remotely. A psychotherapist from Čačak believes that the school
00:24:26did not communicate about the case well, which is why
00:24:29the public got the impression that something was being covered up, in
00:24:32a crisis situation, she says, communication should
00:24:35have been guided by the best interests of the child,
00:24:39meaning nothing should be omitted, but also nothing
00:24:42unnecessary should be added.
00:24:45situation, it was missing, I'm afraid
00:24:49that it... in the first moment, what should have been
00:24:53done was not done, that then the whole thing
00:24:56went too far. The school says that the moment
00:25:00they learned about the event, adequate
00:25:02measures were taken in accordance with procedures. Procedures
00:25:06are part of the problem, experts believe, because of them
00:25:10victims are additionally traumatized, which is why
00:25:12most children never even report
00:25:15violence. It's not enough what we have, that there's a protocol, these
00:25:19are... things that are on paper, but the child must really know where
00:25:23they can go to trust that when
00:25:27they speak up, the system will be able to protect them. The solution,
00:25:31he says, already exists throughout Europe. These are the so-called
00:25:34children's homes, places where different institutions come
00:25:38to the child, not the child to the institutions. Instead of a
00:25:41traumatized child, repeatedly telling their story
00:25:44to a doctor, pedagogue, school principal,
00:25:47police, prosecutor's office, experts gather in one
00:25:51place with guaranteed protection of the victim's
00:25:54identity. In Serbia, however, such a system is not
00:25:57yet in sight. Miodrag Sovilj, N1
00:26:01Belgrade.
00:26:04By the end of the news, you can expect this
00:26:05story as well.
00:26:09We are facing climatic extremes; August this year went
00:26:12down in history as one of the hottest months since records
00:26:15began.
00:26:19Several US military aircraft were damaged in an Iranian missile attack on a US
00:26:23airbase in Jordan. The attack followed the United States'
00:26:27attack on five Iranian tankers in response to an earlier
00:26:30Iranian attack on a US warship. ship, tensions in the Persian Gulf
00:26:34and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz once again raised oil prices above 100
00:26:38dollars per barrel, which caused a drop in indices on world
00:26:41stock exchanges and a new wave of concern about
00:26:44inflation.
00:26:48$500 for every adult American was promised
00:26:51last night by US President Donald Trump, but only exclusively if
00:26:55the Republican Party wins the midterm elections in November
00:26:59and retains control in both houses of Congress.
00:27:04The first party convention of the Republican Party for the midterm elections, i.e., the elections for
00:27:08both houses of Congress, brought news that resonated even outside the borders of the
00:27:11United States. So, if Republicans
00:27:15win, you win with us, you get $5,000,
00:27:19it will be called Trump's dividend. For the
00:27:23payment of $5,000, Trump was clear, Republicans would
00:27:27have to win, that is, retain control in the Senate and
00:27:30the House of Representatives, and... All adult citizens of
00:27:34America would receive money, and in that promise of money
00:27:37for everyone, lies the legality of the statement, claims lawyer
00:27:41John W. day. I would say that this is not bribery, because
00:27:44here's the difference: if someone approaches you on the street and says, "Here's
00:27:48$500, I want you to go and vote for that candidate,
00:27:52and if I get proof that you voted for that person, then you'll get
00:27:56the money or the rest of the money, that's a direct promise in a
00:27:59campaign, direct bribery in a campaign, and this is..." A public announcement
00:28:03that concerns everyone, and depends on the election
00:28:05results. Others, however, question the ethicality
00:28:09of the promise, precisely because it depends on the election results.
00:28:13And maybe it's possible to promise anything in a campaign, even
00:28:16something that looks like vote buying, but with about
00:28:19270 million adult citizens, this promise would
00:28:23cost Americans as much as 1.35 trillion
00:28:26dollars, which would almost double the budget
00:28:29deficit. Trump claims it would be possible because the economy
00:28:33has never been better, but according to a PBS survey, even
00:28:3663% of Americans say the economy is not
00:28:39working for them, and it seems that's why this promise of
00:28:43$5,000 is waiting.
00:28:46So, please, please, this is perhaps more important
00:28:50than Trump's dividend. Please, pretend
00:28:54I am running and go and vote on November 3rd
00:28:57or earlier.
00:29:00As well as trust in leadership. The economy and Trump's own popularity
00:29:04are at an all-time low. Republicans have
00:29:07every chance in November of ceding control of Congress
00:29:11to Democrats. And as for the legality of the promise itself,
00:29:15Elon Musk gave a million dollars during Donald Trump's presidential
00:29:18campaign to alleged lucky winners and has gotten away
00:29:22with it so far. Aleksandra Gotfra,
00:29:25N1.
00:29:30August of this year entered history as one of the hottest months
00:29:34since measurements began, the European Copernicus service announced,
00:29:38with a temperature higher by 1.65 degrees
00:29:40compared to the pre-industrial average, the key limit of the Paris
00:29:44Convention was temporarily broken. Experts
00:29:46warn that the combination of fossil fuel emissions and
00:29:50the El Niño phenomenon is bringing the planet to a point of no
00:29:53return, while disasters such as fires, floods and droughts are increasingly
00:29:56affecting Europe. Scientists point out that current global
00:30:00models underestimate the speed of warming.
00:30:02They call for urgent cutting of harmful
00:30:06gas emissions.
00:30:11From September 18th to 26th, the 17th
00:30:15Ballet Fest Sarajevo is held. Over the years, the festival has grown into an important
00:30:18meeting place for domestic and international artists. This year's program
00:30:22brings performances, exhibitions, workshops, and discussions dedicated
00:30:25to ballet and dance art. The audience can expect various dance
00:30:29expressions, from contemporary dance to great ballet
00:30:33classics. Special attention will be paid to artists who push the boundaries
00:30:36of dance
00:30:37art with their work.
00:30:40We have three or four segments in our festival that are
00:30:44naturally unavoidable, performances, an exhibition,
00:30:47discussions, a workshop. This year's performances
00:30:50are truly for lovers of contemporary
00:30:53expression, leaders in contemporary ballet
00:30:57expression.
