00:00:19Good afternoon, I am Filip Lukić, these are the most important
00:00:22news.
00:00:27Zelensky on his first official visit to Serbia. Meetings
00:00:30concluded, memorandum signed. European path
00:00:33and enhancement of cooperation, main
00:00:35topics.
00:00:39In Serbia today, six open fires, the most difficult
00:00:43situation in Deliblatska Peščara where the fire spread
00:00:46to 1.5 hectares. Wind is causing major
00:00:49problems.
00:00:52In Russian attacks in the area near Kyiv, at least three people
00:00:56died, including one child. Ukrainian army.
00:01:00attacked two Russian
00:01:01refineries.
00:01:07The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is on his first official
00:01:10visit to Serbia, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, welcomed
00:01:14the Ukrainian president in front of the Palace of Serbia. A bilateral
00:01:17meeting of the two presidents followed, where
00:01:21the topics were European integration, economic and
00:01:24energy cooperation. Serbia and Ukraine today signed a memorandum
00:01:27of understanding in Belgrade in the field of agriculture.
00:01:32Addressing the media after signing the memorandum,
00:01:35President Vučić stated that Ukraine is a friendly
00:01:38country, and that it was his pleasure to have had the opportunity to host
00:01:41Zelensky. Although they talked for a long time about European
00:01:45integration and the path to the European Union, the two
00:01:48presidents do not have the same views on the speed and outcome of
00:01:52that process.
00:01:54Ukraine wants to open all clusters as quickly as possible.
00:01:57Ukraine wants "fast
00:02:00membership in the European
00:02:02Union.
00:02:06I told President Zelensky
00:02:08that
00:02:10I understand all of that, and I also understand that kind of
00:02:13enthusiasm,
00:02:16but that as President of Serbia, as someone who is a political veteran, I do not see at this
00:02:20moment the possibility, first of all for Serbia, I am not
00:02:23talking about Ukraine, so first of all for Serbia
00:02:26to soon become a member of the European Union." "for
00:02:30numerous political reasons, I
00:02:32fully stand behind what I wrote together
00:02:36with the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, I
00:02:40think that it is also for our region, I told
00:02:43President Zelensky that I think it would be important and good, even for
00:02:47Ukraine, Moldova and
00:02:50other, as it is called, Eastern
00:02:52countries, and I think that is the reality, I don't believe
00:02:56that to be completely honest." "that
00:03:00all Europeans will be benevolent towards
00:03:04Ukrainian membership, as you can see,
00:03:07I am talking about it openly, no, they always
00:03:10find someone, for us they will find some
00:03:14Croats, Bulgarians, Dutch, anyone,
00:03:16for Ukrainians they will find others, but I don't
00:03:20see at this moment the possibility for
00:03:23that to be realistically implemented in practice, regardless
00:03:26of that, I understood all the hopes." President
00:03:30Zelensky, I wish Ukraine all the best, and as far as we
00:03:34are concerned, we as a country will never cause a problem,
00:03:37we will never say, first accept us, we started earlier,
00:03:41don't take Ukraine,
00:03:44stay tuned to N1 program. Thank you for your attention. Ukraine will never have such a problem, at least with
00:03:47a small country like Serbia.
00:03:49Srbija.
00:03:54It's not
00:03:58only reality, but enthusiasm
00:04:02is at stake when choosing the direction towards
00:04:04the European Union. I understand the skepticism, Aleksandar's
00:04:08skepticism that he shared with me yesterday quite in detail,
00:04:12Ukraine has no time for
00:04:15skepticism, we are
00:04:18at war.
00:04:22We understand and comprehend what Ukraine must be in the future,
00:04:25first is the path that we have chosen, which the people
00:04:29have chosen, this is unity between
00:04:32the state and the people,
00:04:35unity between institutions, the private
00:04:37sector,
00:04:39which allows us not only to move everything forward, so
00:04:43that people can be full members of the European
00:04:46Union, and this unity
00:04:50gives us strength,
00:04:52although many other leaders told me that we would not get candidate status and so
00:04:56on and so forth, and despite all of that.
00:05:00"We got that status, I fight for it every
00:05:04day, and sometimes it can
00:05:07seem so far away
00:05:10and unattainable, but we
00:05:13are achieving
00:05:16those dreams, there is unity in our
00:05:19country, we must not
00:05:23destroy that unity,
00:05:27there is unity in the European Union on many issues, not only on the issue
00:05:30of war,
00:05:33and they also have some of their own internal
00:05:36issues, when elections happen, some changes,
00:05:40many, many questions. need to be balanced
00:05:43and
00:05:47and how we would
00:05:50do it so that we can open all that we want, but we must be
00:05:53convinced and I am convinced that we can
00:05:56do it, no matter what is ahead
00:05:59of us.
00:06:01Zelensky's visit is a slap to Russia on a symbolic level, given
00:06:05that Serbia is one of the few, conditionally speaking,
00:06:08pro-Russian countries in Europe, former diplomat Duško Lopandić
00:06:12told N1. I think that the
00:06:16results will primarily be symbolic in nature, so I don't
00:06:20believe that now some big
00:06:23agreements, especially of this type which relates
00:06:26to military cooperation, can be
00:06:30agreed upon, but it is certainly a shift
00:06:33of Belgrade towards, as I said,
00:06:36primarily towards Berlin, Brussels,
00:06:38in fact, signals for which then...
00:06:42"Vučić expects some reward, right,
00:06:45in the foreseeable future, and that
00:06:49will be the primary effect, I think,
00:06:52of this visit, but
00:06:56I would say that Serbia is not in a position to
00:06:59completely take one side
00:07:02or the other. About how Zelensky's
00:07:05visit to Belgrade and the announcement of drone production
00:07:09in Serbia, which is sorely needed by Ukraine in the war
00:07:12with Russia, could affect Serbian-Russian relations,
00:07:16Marko Savković from the ISAC Fund spoke to N1:
00:07:19Serbia still counts on
00:07:22maintaining a relationship with Russia,
00:07:25I think that is no longer a partnership
00:07:28relationship, nor is it
00:07:31an alliance. Interests with Russia coincide on
00:07:34several issues, but now the maneuvering space
00:07:38has also narrowed considerably, after Zelensky is proof of that.
00:07:42because it might not have happened a year or two ago,
00:07:46but now it has happened and Russia's ability to
00:07:50punish Serbia for hosting
00:07:54Zelensky is now, I would say, very, very
00:07:57limited.
00:08:02Next, about the fires in Deliblatska Peščara, the fourth
00:08:05day of fighting the fire element is led by members of the Sector for
00:08:09Emergency Situations, members of volunteer fire brigades.
00:08:13The army, as well as citizens. Traffic on the Gaj
00:08:16Šumarak section has been suspended due to the fire in Deliblatska Peščara in
00:08:20the settlement of Šumarak. Houses are being defended, and a fire break of about
00:08:232,000 meters has been created. The situation is very difficult, stated
00:08:27the head of the Sector for Emergency
00:08:29Situations.
00:08:32Nenad Nešić is in Deliblatska Peščara, monitoring the situation
00:08:36on the ground. Nenad, a press conference
00:08:39was held by the head of the Sector for Emergency Situations, Luka
00:08:42Paušić. We heard him say that the situation is difficult. What
00:08:46are the forecasts, what is happening on the ground at this
00:08:49moment?
00:08:53That's right, Filip, in those very words, the situation is difficult and uncertain,
00:08:56and at this moment there is really no precise forecast
00:09:00as to when this fire in the settlement of Šumarak could
00:09:04be brought under control. So no
00:09:08close forecast, but it is said that this could really
00:09:11last the words of Luka Čaušić, the head
00:09:15of the Sector for Emergency Situations. I can testify to that from my position,
00:09:19Filip, we are currently in the very settlement of Šumarak,
00:09:22approximately 200 or 300 meters, here to my left,
00:09:26uphill is the first large fire, and
00:09:29indeed, we are surrounded by a lot of smoke, so the unpleasant smell
00:09:33of smoke, soot can be seen, so everywhere, everything is gray,
00:09:37at one point, even when the fire, or rather when the smoke rose into the sky,
00:09:40you could look at the sun without glasses, that's how covered the
00:09:44sky was with that gray
00:09:47color, and indeed, in a way,
00:09:50we are witnessing, even though we are at a safe distance, that
00:09:54the fires are still raging, I can freely
00:09:57say, in this part of Deliblatska Peščara. As for the
00:10:01Sector for Emergency Situations, as they say, at this moment there is no
00:10:05danger to people, so all of them have been evacuated from
00:10:08this area. Houses are being defended by the Sector for Emergency Situations.
00:10:12They claim that so far not a single building has burned
00:10:16in the fire. As they say, last night, the fire did reach the yards
00:10:19of some houses, but they reacted immediately and for
00:10:23now they have prevented, at least according to them, any house from burning
00:10:26in this area. As for the operation itself,
00:10:30four helicopters are constantly in the air, we are witnessing this, so
00:10:34we have been in this position for about several hours,
00:10:37three MUP helicopters and one military helicopter.
00:10:41Around 300 people are currently
00:10:44fighting the fire, we also asked if more
00:10:47helicopters are needed, if more people are needed, from the Sector for Emergency Situations they say that this is
00:10:51the correct or optimal number, that any more
00:10:55than that would actually pose a risk, that at this moment
00:10:59this is the best number of people and the best number of helicopters that can
00:11:03deal with this fire. In the meantime,
00:11:07they are also making so-called, as you said, fire
00:11:10breaks, or in a way, to be simpler, trenches
00:11:14through Deliblatska Peščara, so through the forest and through low
00:11:17vegetation, they are about
00:11:2150 meters wide, and the idea is to use construction machinery
00:11:25to somehow surround this fire that is spreading
00:11:28and in that way bring it under control. Then the question is again how long
00:11:32its extinguishing will last, because the key message is at
00:11:36this moment that the wind is what is causing the most problems and that
00:11:39the situation actually changes from minute to minute. Here, people
00:11:43in this area where we are at this moment, there is no one from the Sector for
00:11:47Emergency Situations, they again appeal to people to simply
00:11:50listen to their appeals not to approach the fire and that
00:11:53the firefighters and rescuers are there to defend
00:11:57the property of people who have cottages, as well as houses, in this
00:12:01place. They say that there are, of course, people who, of course, it is completely understandable, cannot
00:12:05leave their homes, but, well, I repeat,
00:12:08according to the Sector for Emergency Situations, at this moment all
00:12:12those who were most at risk have been evacuated, and all people are safe
00:12:16at this moment. I suggest that right now, of course, we cannot show
00:12:20this with our camera, but you can hear, Filip, that helicopters are flying
00:12:23above my head. I said, once again, there are
00:12:26four of them in total. Water is being brought from
00:12:30the Danube to extinguish the fire at this location. I suggest we hear what the head of the Sector for
00:12:34Emergency Situations said at the conference held about an hour
00:12:36ago. We are currently here in
00:12:39the Šumarak settlement, which we are intensely defending, so we are defending
00:12:43the houses right behind these
00:12:46residential buildings. Here there is a huge fire break that we made,
00:12:50over 50 meters in length,
00:12:521,700, maybe even 2,000
00:12:55meters. However, the wind is so strong, the conditions are so
00:12:59unfavorable when it comes to the development of this
00:13:02fire that this fight will be difficult and uncertain, and
00:13:06we have literally applied all known tactical
00:13:09actions here, so here
00:13:12due to the configuration of the terrain,
00:13:15due to strong winds, the only thing we can do
00:13:19is to surround the fire with fire breaks,
00:13:22as we said. As I said,
00:13:25we have 29, 30 large working
00:13:29machines, and we will try to contain it
00:13:32in that way, and this will certainly take time,
00:13:36this cannot be finished quickly. Our priority is that no one gets hurt, to
00:13:40try to protect the houses of several settlements, here of course then
00:13:43the most valuable forest, then everything else that is
00:13:47in this truly natural
00:13:49gem.
00:13:53Filip, to conclude, this is the most endangered point
00:13:56at this moment in Serbia, along with Stolovi near Kraljevo,
00:14:00but they say that here the fire is causing the biggest
00:14:04problems and they announce that the settlement of Šušara, which is located
00:14:07not far from Šumarak, could potentially be threatened, but at
00:14:11this moment there are no such forecasts that the fire could spread
00:14:15that far in that direction. Among other things, journalists were interested
00:14:19in the question of the cause of the fire here, in Deliblatska Peščara,
00:14:23and throughout Serbia, however. As for the head of the Sector for Emergency
00:14:26Situations, he said that everything will be thoroughly analyzed, but
00:14:30that first and foremost, the fires must be brought under control, and then
00:14:34that deeper analysis will be done. He did not want to speculate
00:14:37how this happened.
00:14:40Filip, thank you, Nenad, for all this
00:14:43information. Nenad Nešić is following the situation regarding
00:14:47the fires in Deliblatska Peščara.
00:14:50And the residents of the settlements of Šumarak and Čardak are actively collecting aid
00:14:53for firefighters and all people involved in extinguishing the fire
00:14:57in Deliblatska Peščara. All who want to help can contact
00:15:00the organization Kovin Humano Srce. The action to collect
00:15:03aid was also called for today by students of the Faculty of Medicine and
00:15:07Dentistry in Belgrade, the Faculty of Philosophy in
00:15:10Novi Sad and Niš. Aid can be brought to the premises
00:15:14of the Red Cross in
00:15:15Kuršumlija.
00:15:18Official information from the municipal emergency headquarters
00:15:21that citizen assistance is no longer needed, which I would not agree with
00:15:25because I was in Šumarak last night and all day yesterday, where
00:15:28access was possible. It is necessary for people to
00:15:32bring frozen water, frozen juices, drinks, if
00:15:36possible or at least okay, canned food is also welcome.
00:15:40So that is all for the firefighters, people who are residents there and do not have other
00:15:43access to food and water currently. Last night at some
00:15:46point electricity was also cut off there due to prevention from further spread
00:15:50of the fire. The situation literally changes minute
00:15:53by minute and that is all I can say for
00:15:55now.
00:16:01In Priština, the second attempt to hold
00:16:04the constitutive session of the new convocation of the assembly failed,
00:16:08because the MP of the Alliance for the Future, Simkadri, threw eggs at Albin
00:16:11Kurti. When Kurti again asked for additional time for
00:16:15consultations, the MP of the Alliance threw eggs at him. This led to
00:16:19the suspension of the session and the entry of Kurti's bodyguards into
00:16:22the hall. Presiding officer Avni De Hari announced that the
00:16:25MPs would be informed later when the session would
00:16:29continue.
00:16:33The Integrity Network of the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy
00:16:36postponed a public forum planned for August 13th in
00:16:40Valjevo, on the anniversary of the police action in
00:16:43that city, after none of the contacted institutions
00:16:47agreed to provide space for its
00:16:49holding. The same applied to private entities, according to that
00:16:53organization. The Integrity Network estimates that the
00:16:56prevention of organizing a public event is another
00:17:00indicator of the degree of state capture and
00:17:03of society as a whole. They call on the competent institutions, including
00:17:06the city of Valjevo, to enable the holding
00:17:09of the forum in one of the public spaces as soon as possible, and no later than
00:17:13Monday, August 10th. At the same time, they also called on private
00:17:17entities to make decisions about providing space
00:17:20without fear of political or any other
00:17:23pressures.
00:17:29World. At least three people, including one child, were killed
00:17:33last night in Russian attacks near the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv.
00:17:37This is reported by the BBC, citing
00:17:40local officials. Rockets hit the area
00:17:44east of the capital early this morning. Moscow announced that it had hit
00:17:47a flamingo missile factory, a fuel and lubricant warehouse.
00:17:51Two ships were also hit while sailing at sea south and
00:17:54east of Odesa. On the other hand, the General Staff of Ukraine
00:17:58confirmed that refineries in the Krasnodar
00:18:01region and Samara Oblast in
00:18:03Russia were hit.
00:18:12At the Batrovci border crossing, as of this morning, when leaving
00:18:15Serbia, there is a wait of about four hours, while at the Šid crossing, there is a wait of about
00:18:19two hours, announced the Auto Moto Association of Serbia. At the
00:18:23Neštin and Horgoš crossings, delays are about an hour.
00:18:26On roads in Serbia today, increased
00:18:29traffic intensity is expected, and the auto moto association warns that
00:18:33variable weather conditions can make travel difficult.
00:18:36Some vehicles are also moving in columns, and everything is made more difficult by
00:18:40very high temperatures. There are no
00:18:43delays at the toll booths.
00:18:47Today is warm and muggy, let's see what weather awaits us tomorrow.
00:19:18That's all for this news overview,
00:26:09Games are
00:26:10law.
00:26:13Games are law, welcome to Novi Sad, today we
00:26:17are socializing and meeting new friends, today we are not
00:26:20competing, but we came to cheer for our friends, register
00:26:24for the games because games are law, games are law because
00:26:27they help you be healthy
00:26:30so you never give up, and what else? Games are
00:26:34law.
00:26:37In Novi Sad, at the ceremonial opening Powered by
00:26:40Gorenje, the 13th season of Plasma Sports Games
00:26:44of Youth in Serbia began. Numerous children
00:26:46and famous personalities gathered to support young
00:26:49SIM participants, and what do they say? Games are
00:26:53law, well it's very nice here and there are
00:26:57many people and children. We came from Apatin and we really like
00:27:00the atmosphere and everything. "It's a lot of fun and we hope
00:27:04that we will invite some new friends and have a great time, it's very
00:27:08nice here to hang out with friends, you make a lot of friends,
00:27:12you win games and so on."
00:27:15The ceremonial opening was enhanced by House animators,
00:27:18influencer and streetball master Triki, as well as the popular
00:27:22rap group THCF. When you were little, you watched
00:27:25basketball, you watched gold on the court, you watched the brave,
00:27:29you took a three-pointer, you got the ball, you scored a basket." He said,
00:27:33"Shoot more, more!" He said I wasn't bad, I told myself, "Train
00:27:36more!" Play and win, finally
00:27:39come back, bring home to
00:27:42be called, Serbia waits, until
00:27:46our country is
00:27:48again.
00:27:53The ceremonial opening was attended by representatives of religious
00:27:56community, partners and sponsors of the event, management
00:27:59of basketball and football clubs, as well as many famous
00:28:03influential personalities, the city of Novi Sad, partner of the ceremonial
00:28:06opening, also provided support to young Simonovci, here is what the mayor of
00:28:10Novi Sad said on that occasion. The uniqueness
00:28:14of this event, which clearly shows year after
00:28:17year that young people from this area can socialize and
00:28:21compete in a sporting
00:28:24spirit. The real strength lies in the fact that children
00:28:28from the region connect, learn about the values of unity and
00:28:32build the foundations of a secure
00:28:35future. I wish you to grow into great
00:28:38athletes, carrying fair play in your heart, proudly
00:28:41representing the cities from which you come. The torch of friendship
00:28:44was carried by Dušan Domović Bulut, one of the best
00:28:47basketball players of all time.
00:28:50Let's light the torch and say that the
00:28:54youth sports games are open.
00:28:56Bravo!
00:28:59By lighting the flame of friendship, the games were ceremonially
00:29:02opened, says the president of the games, Mr. Zdravko
00:29:06Marić. Well, in any case, I am very satisfied, with the
00:29:09games in Serbia, for all these 13 years, I want to take
00:29:13this opportunity to praise the Plasma Youth Sports Games team in
00:29:16Serbia, led by Marija Mihajlović, because year after year
00:29:20the games are getting bigger, they are more recognizable by both
00:29:23children and local self-governments, cities,
00:29:27small towns, villages, so I hope that in the future
00:29:30it will be even bigger and bigger because
00:29:33children are the true pledge to the games and thank God, so far it
00:29:37has happened that they are the biggest advertisement and that is why they come in increasing
00:29:40numbers year after year. We are proud that we are part of such a big
00:29:44story, we are proud that it lasts, grows
00:29:48every year brings new smiles, new
00:29:52memories to remember. The game teaches us that everyone
00:29:55is equal on the field. That is why Plasma
00:29:59Youth Sports Games believe
00:30:01and celebrate that every child has the right to sports,
00:30:05regardless of gender, inclination or
00:30:08ability. In Novi Sad, young Simovci competed
00:30:11in an athletic race of 60 m, Lino game
00:30:15of dodgeball, volleyball, Coca-Cola Cup and Telekom
00:30:19Serbia Cup in futsal, as well as 3x3
00:30:22Sprite Cup in basketball. On the sports fields, they showed
00:30:26speed, agility and excellent coordination, but also
00:30:29team spirit, combativeness and fair play.
