00:10:07security partnerships but also I anticipate we're going to see
00:10:11more collective presence in the region,
00:10:15Turkey and Pakistan are going to play also
00:10:19bigger roles in the region and make sure that the security
00:10:22vacuum is filled by such. partnerships
00:10:26and such a force rather than uh security
00:10:29vacuum that is just simply filled by uh spoilers in the
00:10:33region um and so I think moving forward it's going to be very significant and
00:10:37I think and let me just say one more thing about this I would
00:10:40personally suggest this is better thought off as
00:10:44regional approach rather than regional architecture security
00:10:48architecture because I think it's it gives
00:10:51enough leeway for all the the respective. members the
00:10:55state
00:10:56of of this alliance to have space and build kind
00:11:00of uh build what they want to see from their own build
00:11:04what is necessary for them uh rather than entrap
00:11:08entrapping themselves with each other and i think this is why it's going to be it's
00:11:12going to have a long life ahead of

00:11:33Welcome to Pakistan TV's transmission, but what
00:11:36are your sentiments and what is your take on this
00:11:40very important and historic increment?
00:11:44Yeah, thank you for having me. I think it's a
00:11:48landmark agreement, it has lot of
00:11:51significance both at the regional level. as well
00:11:55as at the global level, it
00:11:58is certainly like each country that has
00:12:02signed, this agreement as it
00:12:06advantages for them, for saudis, it gives them more
00:12:10security umbrella for Pakistan, it gives
00:12:12more influence and in the middle
00:12:16east region, Pakistan has been playing very
00:12:20active role in Middle East diplomacy, being a key
00:12:23mediator between. Iran and the United States
00:12:27and also it being a part of another
00:12:30agreement with Saudi Arabia and building on that and
00:12:34now Turkey being part of another one and it becoming a
00:12:38trilateral agreement, so certainly it adds
00:12:42more players to the security
00:12:45arrangement that we are seeing, it's emerging security arrangement. I don't think
00:12:49this will be or these three will be the last countries that will be
00:12:53part of such arrangement. because Iran war has
00:12:57definitely changed lot of ground
00:13:01realities, the security environment
00:13:05has changed radically and
00:13:08certainly it has actually forced many countries in
00:13:12the region to recalibrate their own national security
00:13:16strategy, in the past their main stay
00:13:20for security umbrella was the United States, but now we see
00:13:23that ' may may be Saudi Arabia which is the
00:13:27key player or Kuwait or other countries in the
00:13:31region, all them are showing interest in different ways in
00:13:35engaging with countries like Pakistan, which is the only
00:13:38nuclear power in the world which is Muslim
00:13:42and also have the battle hearded military, so
00:13:46this pact makes it very unique combination of three
00:13:49powers that are in the region,
00:13:53one being rather two being. having global implications, all them have,
00:13:57but I think Turkey and Pakistan have more global implications
00:14:01when it comes to military power, because Saudi
00:14:05Arabia is bringing its deep pockets,
00:14:09Turkey is bringing its military technology and
00:14:12provices and Pakistan is bringing to the table
00:14:16its military which is bettle hearted and
00:14:19proven itself time and again how
00:14:23effectively it can deal with crisis, whether it is at
00:14:27home or abroad, even though Pakistan has not played
00:14:30any such role an active military
00:14:34theater, besides being part the international
00:14:38peaceekeepers under the United Nations, but this is a completely
00:14:42different game and I think that this gives Pakistan very
00:14:46different place, so it has certainly
00:14:49advantages for Pakistan, it may have some risks for Pakistan as
00:14:53well, so I think overall if..." look at it, it's a landmark
00:14:56agreement and i think that it will have far
00:15:00reaching implications and impact on the regional
00:15:03dynamics, the economic dynamics, the
00:15:06geostrategic dynamics of South Asia
00:15:10as well as the middle east and beyond,
00:15:13because the world at large, international economy
00:15:16depends a lot on the hydrocarbon resources the middle
00:15:20east region and Saudi Arabia being the world's
00:15:23largest hydrocarbon producer and second
00:15:27largest oil reserves country, the country which has
00:15:31the second largest oil reserves in the world, so so Saudi
00:15:35Arabia being at the... center of it and it being signed
00:15:39in Mecca, certainly all these are very significant, so I
00:15:43think it's a very significant development, it's a landmark
00:15:46agreement and I don't think these three will be the last, I think
00:15:50there may be other countries in the region which may be
00:15:54thinking or rethinking their strategy as well
00:15:58when they are recalibrating their national security strategy in
00:16:01the face of new realities that are emerging
00:16:05out the war. with
00:16:08Iran, now we have seen that
00:16:12Pakistan has clearly shown its military dominance over a
00:16:15period of time, we have faced India in operation Bunianum
00:16:19Marsus and actually that opened up new avenues for Pakistan as
00:16:23well, the whole world has seen the capabilities of Pakistan, the military
00:16:27preparedness, the war readiness of Pakistan, how Pakistan can
00:16:30actually show its dominance in the air
00:16:34on on
00:16:35the in the sea and on the land. as well, what do you
00:16:39think about Pakistan's military capabilities that no one has
00:16:43any doubt about it
00:16:44anymore? mean
00:16:47every military in the world has the same claims
00:16:51that Pakistan has, but that there is a big difference, the difference
00:16:55is proven capabilities like many militaries that never
00:16:59have fought a war, but they say that we have these capabilities, but
00:17:02Pakistan has one unique position that it has displayed
00:17:06these... capabilities in the face of Indian
00:17:10aggressions, even though Pakistan was not was not the
00:17:13country which was the aggressor, it was the India and Pakistan
00:17:17responded to it, so I think Pakistan has proven that, but I
00:17:21think I am looking at this
00:17:24new security arrangement
00:17:27beyond the military capabilities, I think that it should go
00:17:31beyond that and like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia
00:17:35has have huge uh trade deficit,
00:17:38pakistan has a good opportunity to plug that
00:17:42gap and bring it instead of trade deficit,
00:17:46make it trade surplus. similarly, pakistan and
00:17:50turkey have the same situation, pakistan and turkey have been
00:17:53collaborating on the defense side, they have been really
00:17:57jointly manufacturing, pakistan is part of Kn project, in fact about 200
00:18:01Pakistani engineers are believed to be part the project where they
00:18:05are developing the fifth generation. and fighter jet, so
00:18:08Pakistan has that engagement, so certainly a country which has
00:18:12proved its capability
00:18:15through in war theaters and it has
00:18:18the assets as well which have proved
00:18:22like Chinese technology until not very
00:18:26like distant past, many in the world
00:18:30looked at it with lot of doubt, but Pakistan's
00:18:33use of Chinese technology I think gave new
00:18:38basically credibility to the Chinese technology, military technology as
00:18:42well, I think that has also placed Pakistan a very unique
00:18:46position where it is first because it being
00:18:50able to intelligently use the assets that
00:18:54it has against an adversary and secondly it
00:18:58has it becomes key
00:19:01candidate for any new technology that is coming out of
00:19:04Chinese factories and Pakistan. being an ideal and
00:19:08responsible player when it comes to use of such technologies, so I think
00:19:12Pakistan has that edge when it comes to
00:19:16using new technology and you know
00:19:19different levels of technological
00:19:23advancement in military science,
00:19:27so I think that all combines and makes Pakistan a
00:19:31unique case. Similarly, Turkey is also I think
00:19:35a very unique player, Turkey... being part of NATO, even though
00:19:39NATO has been kept out of this agreement, but Turkey has lot
00:19:43of expertise also, especially in the defense sector, their
00:19:47defense industry is emerging, it is becoming key player, their defense
00:19:51exports are growing, Pakistan is also one their key customers
00:19:54and I think these three countries working
00:19:58together and working in the defense
00:20:01development sector can also benefit immensely from
00:20:04each other. Pakistan has the experience and aircraft
00:20:08manufacturing, whether it is JF 17 or the way
00:20:11Pakistan has rebuilt miraj three and
00:20:14fives, I think that itself is success story,
00:20:18because 50, 60 year olds aircraft and the way Pakistan
00:20:22has befically reconditioned them is
00:20:26amazing, so Pakistan has that expertise, so Pakistan also brings
00:20:30its strength, but I think together Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and
00:20:34Turkey can benefit from each other's.
00:20:37capabilities as well as their insights
00:20:41into the military science and overall security
00:20:44environment, I think they can bring more stability to the region
00:20:48and as I said I think there will be many other countries which will be more
00:20:52than open to join it, just like Turkey announced today that other
00:20:56countries in the region are also more than welcome to join, and I think these are very
00:20:59good developments if other countries in the region also join, because this
00:21:03brings more stability to the region, if the rivalries between the
00:21:07gulf states go down and they become allies, so I think that
00:21:11Pakistan being part of it and Pakistan being the sold nuclear power in the
00:21:15club, it makes Pakistan very distinguished
00:21:18member.

00:23:24for Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. The message is one
00:23:28of unity, strength and a shared commitment to
00:23:31peace, security and stability across the region

00:23:50it stands on three principles that attack on one country would
00:23:54be attacked on all countries of course, secondly

00:24:54Asia, of course, we we need to understand, I think lot of our enemies
00:24:58would be thinking twice of attacking us and of
00:25:01course, and it's just not,
00:25:03of course, lot of people have
00:25:04been asking you, if Pakistan's attack by
00:25:08Indians, what would the Saudies or Turkish do, and I always said of
00:25:11course the Saudis and in the Turks would defend
00:25:15Pakistan, Iranian
00:25:19president posization
00:25:21has said Tehran is ready for dialogue with the United States and Europe
00:25:25but will not accept demands that compromise Iran's sovereignty or defense
