00:16:27this is very difficult for people generally to understand, other than of
00:16:31course, knowing that the leaders of the
00:16:34world everywhere, you know, they are like this one
00:16:37unit, all these oligarchs wherever they are against the
00:16:41people. But many people just don't
00:16:44get it as to why the Arabs are really not doing anything. I
00:16:47mean, we've got Iran which is at the cost to itself really
00:16:51fighting for the cause of the Palestinians. Why are all
00:16:54these Arab countries, if they wanted, they could easily liberate
00:16:58Palestine? They could, but I think they've put themselves in a
00:17:01situation where the whole of their economy is based on rich people coming
00:17:05and living there in their countries. So, once you've got that situation,
00:17:09that even though they have defense, but they're not a military country, so
00:17:13really they just want to keep the status quo for themselves. Whatever is
00:17:16going on around them, they're not going to step in and intervene. They don't want
00:17:20to get involved themselves because then they will have a conflict
00:17:23themselves. Um, so to avoid that, they're just staying neutral, in
00:17:27effect. Um, because they just don't want to rock
00:17:31the the the boat. They don't want to um lose their
00:17:34their status as a sort of rich person
00:17:38playground. Yeah, absolutely. And it is also, you know, quite
00:17:41frustrating because you see them when uh Trump had
00:17:45this peace ward to try and bring a sort of ceasefire,
00:17:49they all rushed there, you know, to sign this peace
00:17:52treaty. But Sujud says clearly that she doesn't
00:17:55want a ceasefire. They've been deceiving them time and again. There is no
00:17:59ceasefire. People are getting killed every day. You know, it seems to
00:18:03me that the only country really is Iran that's trying to
00:18:07bring... real long-term end to the war, isn't it? Yes, yes,
00:18:10and they're suffering because of that, because obviously, in the memory of
00:18:14understanding, they're
00:18:17the Palestine people and Lebanon to stop the conflict
00:18:20there. And because of that
00:18:22is, I mean, Iran could have had an easier way
00:18:26out, an option, but they're standing firmly
00:18:30because of the injustice that's happening. They can't just turn their backs on
00:18:34them now, through through this time where they need them, where they need support. I mean,
00:18:37who's supporting them? There's yeah, there's a kind of an
00:18:41outcry globally for the concerns of what's happening, but nothing
00:18:45that's actually uh preventing anything from happening in real terms.
00:18:48So, in Sujud's case, um,
00:18:51there is no help, is there? She's just in
00:18:55the tent in the rubble. Yeah, absolutely. That's the
00:18:58reality. How how do we explain you, specifically when we talk of Iran here
00:19:02in the West, Britain included, you know, these very negative
00:19:05images of Iran? But how do you explain that from the
00:19:09entire globe, really, nobody is genuinely doing anything
00:19:13other than Iran? I mean, what is their motivation?
00:19:16Why are they at the cost, as you say, to themselves,
00:19:20fighting for the people of Lebanon, Palestine?
00:19:23I mean, generally against imperialism?
00:19:26I think it's the same cause. I mean, Iran was
00:19:29threatened pre the Iraqi war, wasn't it,
00:19:32by um, what's his name? Bush, George Bush, saying that
00:19:36they were... even though we're going to deal with Iraq and Afghanistan, which the
00:19:40problem has come from, or they were saying that at the time, but the real the
00:19:44real problem is coming from Iran. So they were always on the
00:19:47the target list, because because they they they can't just stand by and
00:19:51watch people, uh, well, I don't see how any of us can stand by and

00:20:51going to, um, sort of back away from that, because
00:20:54um, I think it's cost America something like, well, they're saying between
00:20:58300 um 33 billion or
00:21:01something to 100 billion. Yes, but the memorandum
00:21:05of understanding says that under that agreement, they should be
00:21:09paying Iran 300 billion. So the math doesn't work
00:21:12out. So there's no way that they're going to find that money to give it back to
00:21:16them, especially as they're thinking that they're their intention
00:21:20is to create the bomb, which they don't have that intention. And of
00:21:24course then, we destroyed America. Trump destroyed the
00:21:27um, was it the GCPOA? Yeah, so
00:21:30which was monitoring it, it was guaranteed, of
00:21:33course. And the important thing is to remember also
00:21:37that Iran has never really attacked any country before, not its
00:21:40neighbors, any other country, but it is Iran that is suffering from
00:21:44the illegal war. Let's just remind our viewers that you're watching Women

00:22:06campaigner, you know, what have been the initiatives here in the
00:22:09UK and generally in the West? What kind of things
00:22:13do you do? And you know, do you see any change because of
00:22:17that? I think there is a public awareness, but there's
00:22:20equally as much as like the big
00:22:23campaigns, big marches, and they've been on TV and they're trying to ban them, and they're trying
00:22:27to say the marches are hate. And
00:22:30also, now I believe they're trying to stop repeat protests.
00:22:34So, okay, so we'll see what happens there. But, um,
00:22:37so, uh, is equally a huge part of the
00:22:40population that's not following it, that's switched off completely,
00:22:43that's trying to just survive themselves, pay their rent, and everything
00:22:47like that. So, a lot of people have turned away, not because they haven't got a heart,
00:22:50but they just can't cope. Some people can't mentally cope with trying to
00:22:54keep up with, you know, all these incidents that's happening, the Nepal, the
00:22:58flooding, the the um, the
00:23:01earthquakes have been happening in Venezuela and all these parts of the
00:23:04world. But the constant sort
00:23:06of um horror of what's being shown in
00:23:10Gaza, so many people, I can talk to now, and they don't
00:23:13know what's going on, because, you know, they they've sort of switched off their
00:23:17in their own lives. So, but the actual
00:23:21peace movement, I don't think we've been effective. We we we're we're all
00:23:24preaching to ourselves, and we all know the story, but
00:23:28how do we need to sort of put it
00:23:31embody into one source to say to make a stand
00:23:34properly, unite all the groups. Is is this some sort of
00:23:38a mental colonization, Maria? And also, you know, like if you
00:23:42look at the Iranian, I was there for the funeral of Seyyed Khamenei, and you
00:23:45could see that they are politically so astute, like even, you know,
00:23:49young people, older people, they are very aware of
00:23:53what's happening globally, maybe because of the years of, you
00:23:56know, sanction. But for us here, it's almost like like you, but
00:24:00for us here, it's almost like like you say, people are just worried about
00:24:04day to day, yes, paying the bills. Are we is this
00:24:08mental colonization? Well, yeah, I think it is. They're making us fearful, and
00:24:11people, you know, students, what is there going to be a job for them? People are leaving
00:24:15university, no job. Nurse qualified nurses. Now we need nurses,
00:24:19and there's no job. Uh, so people, youngsters
00:24:23are very, very confused at the moment. They're almost in a sort of
00:24:26survival mode themselves. Yeah, and they're looking for a
00:24:29future. And then obviously, the adults that are leading the world at the
00:24:33moment, aren't aren't answering these problems. We've
00:24:36got the number one is the climate emergency. You know, what we're going to be
00:24:40facing next year. Uh, we're destroying the planet with all
00:24:43these uh weapons, with all the pollution and the toxicity. But at the
00:24:47same time, this is all to do with our leaderships and, well, there is no
00:24:50leadership, there's no leadership. As you say, it's it's a global world now, and
00:24:54it's one big giant corporation. It's all linked together, and the whole
00:24:58source of it is just to keep making money and and
00:25:01buying land and monopolizing. And uh
00:25:04we we'll all get left behind at some point unless we make a change
00:25:08now. Talking of change, you know, there is this strike coming
00:25:12up, I believe, you know, that you are part of organizing on the 9th
00:25:16of October. It's a big strike for Palestine. Tell me a little bit about that.
00:25:19Well... strikes I'll be talking about, they're all a Friday. This one is uh the
00:25:239th of October, and uh so we're
00:25:26asking for people, and unless you're an emergency worker or an essential
00:25:30worker, and we all know who's an essential worker, so we trust them to do what they
00:25:33have to do. But the rest of us, uh, if if we
00:25:37can, we either don't go to work, um, don't
00:25:40send your children to school or college or university. And that's really important because the
00:25:44youngsters have to be empowered now. You know, this is
00:25:48not um, we're not sort of advocating, it's totally
00:25:52peaceful, but they have to be empowered because it's their
00:25:55future now. And then if you can't do any of those, then just don't buy anything on
00:25:59that Friday. Finally, Maria, do... do
00:26:02you have hope that even though here in the West we are not really making
00:26:06strides enough to awaken people to change
00:26:09things, but for example, with the war that is going on in the
00:26:13West Asian region, with the way Iran has been able to
00:26:16withstand and actually won this war? I
00:26:19think what we what they failed to realize is
00:26:23that Gaza, the people of Palestine, the people of Lebanon, and the people
00:26:27of Iran, they're not going to give up. Come what
00:26:30may, they will not give up the land. So you
00:26:34know, it's it, you know, these are futile wars. You
00:26:37know, these are not sort of, um, you
00:26:41know, these people have the mindset they've endured, and sometimes they've
00:26:44done these operations without any anesthetic. I mean, you can
00:26:47never come to terms with that. Israel will never
00:26:51win. It's and and actually, the actions that it's
00:26:54doing, it will backfire on Israel, and Israel will
