00:25:29Hormus, southern Iran, the United States launched a heavy
00:25:33wave of strikes against command centers, radars,
00:25:37surveillance systems and air defense positions across southern
00:25:40Iran, intended to make the skies over southern Iran safer for
00:25:44American aircraft, but just hours later something unexpected
00:25:48happened. An American MQ9
00:25:52Reaper was shot down over the straight of Formoves.
00:25:56The MQ9 is no ordinary drone. It is one of America's
00:26:00primary platforms for intelligence.
00:26:02violence, reconnaissance and precision strikes, capable of remaining
00:26:06airborne for more than a full day while carrying an advanced suite of sensors
00:26:10and weapons, and this was not the first reaper lost. since the
00:26:13beginning the war, Iran has taken around 50 MQ9
