00:24:14Masasa Tahi was born in 1993 in Iraq
00:24:17Iran. Her life journey took her from simple room in her family home
00:24:21in Iraq to laboratories and advanced scientific research projects
00:24:25in Tehran. She began studying pure chemistry at Iraq
00:24:28University and continued her studies in zanjan for her master's
00:24:32degree and eventually became a PhD student in physical
00:24:35chemistry at Tarbiyat Mudarras University in Tehran where she
00:24:39also taught and worked on research projects. But
00:24:43behind the image of a brilliant young researcher was young woman
00:24:47with very was young woman with very... ordinary and
00:24:50deeply personal world, she loved dolls and gave even kept

00:25:36testing 10 days after her death. Her body was taken back to Iraq
00:25:40and buried in the city cemetery for marters a site that
00:25:44according to her family she had chosen herself. At first glance
00:25:48Mahsa Tahiri may have seemed. simply like a brilliant young scientist, her and
00:25:52sister who loved her dolls, her and sister who loved her dolls, once

00:26:00life that could have stretched decade of that. are few
00:26:03awards that are few awards, memories and a small piece
00:26:07of metal from one of her scientific projects, reminder of young

00:26:18yet when she was killed, her death was ignored in the international
00:26:21media, no headlines, no newspaper profiles, no sustained
00:26:25coverage the young scientist whose life was cut short, her
00:26:29death was met with complete silence.

00:28:37Flodan's most important contribution could never be captured
00:28:41in a sanction list or an official
00:28:43title. He taught, he trained young
00:28:47researchers, shared what he had learned and helped prepare new
00:28:51generation to work in some of Iran's most advanced fields of
00:28:55science and technology. For him, scientific power was not simply
00:28:59about what one scientist could achieve, it was about what could be. passed
00:29:02on from one generation to the next and what may explain why
00:29:06scientists like Fulad van can become targets. Eliminating
00:29:10as scientists may silence one voice, but it cannot erase the
00:29:14knowledge of that voice has already passed to others. Just days after his
00:29:18martterdom, the prestigious journal science in its April 6th,
00:29:212026 issue reported on the growing Israeli campaign targeting
00:29:25Iranian scientists and universities. Full advanced death had
00:29:29become part of a larger story, a war in which those
00:29:33capable of advancing Iran's scientific and technological
00:29:36future were themselves being targeted, but there is limit
00:29:40to what an attack can be hit, a researcher can be can be
00:29:44hit, reserger can be killed, a generation can lose one of
00:29:48its teachers, but knowledge survives. It is carried by the students
00:29:52they trained, the researchers they inspired, and the people who continue
