00:02:22of of Palestine, Gaza, this is for the child that is searching, this is not just the war over stolen land,
00:02:25why do you are think throwing little stones

00:02:31dead? they drop bombs on innocent girls while they sleep in their bed.
00:02:34Israel is a terror state the terrorists that terrorize i'll testify my
00:02:38television televise i'm telling how many more resolutions have to be

00:03:03of Hello, of I'm of Chris Williamson and this is Palestine
00:03:06Declassified, but we focus on the international struggle to liberate
00:03:09Palestine and expose Israel's efforts to manipulate the political class
00:03:13of and corporate media. In today's show we'll be considering whether
00:03:17Ed Milliman's statement to the House of
00:03:19of Commons on Tuesday marked
00:03:21of sea change in the UK's relationship with the
00:03:23a Zionist colony, or was it simply performative politics? There's no
00:03:27doubt that the labour party's hemorage support. its facilitation
00:03:31of the genocide in Gaza, which rather begs a question, was the
00:03:35purpose
00:03:35of the foreign secretary statement aimed at winning back
00:03:38of votes of who've deserted them in their droves, or was it
00:03:42genuine
00:03:43of shift in foreign policy? well, despite the
00:03:46of hysterical reaction by prominent zionists like the
00:03:49a chief rabbi, who said it marked a truly dark day for British Jews,
00:03:53mil sanctions are incredibly modest, as this report will
00:03:56explain, the British has
00:04:00announced it will impose limited sanctions
00:04:02of on the zionist entity, focused on settlements in the occupied West
00:04:06Bank, which are illegal on the international
00:04:10of law. On the 8th of September, Britain's foreign secretary Ed Millibann told the
00:04:14House of Commons that Britain would ban imports of goods from the occupied
00:04:18West Bank and create new powers to
00:04:21of target companies and individuals who
00:04:23of finance, build or advertise those settlements. Those measures
00:04:27are due to take
00:04:28of effect in six to nine months. from now,
00:04:31of further more, the UK place sanctions on five additional individuals linked
00:04:35to settler terrorism, bringing the UK's total number of sanction
00:04:39settlers to 38. These measures follow on
00:04:43from a longer pattern of slow and limited action
00:04:46of taken by the British government. In late 2024, Britain
00:04:50suspended a small number of
00:04:52of arms of export licenses to Israel, and in June
00:04:552025, the UK, alongside Australia, Canada, and
00:04:59other. western countries imposed asset freezes and travel
00:05:03of bands on Itamar ben gaver and
00:05:06benzails, both of whom are ministers in the zianist
00:05:09regime, however the latest announcement goes further than
00:05:13those previous measures, the British government now recognizes
00:05:17Israel's occupation as unlawful and has used the term
00:05:21ethnic cleansing. Crucially, however, it still
00:05:25refuses to recognize the Gaza genocide. But how
00:05:29effective are these measures? Total trade between the UK and
00:05:32designist entity stands at around 8 billion US dollars
00:05:36a year. Trade with the occupied territories is estimated
00:05:40to only be a small fraction of that at around $51
00:05:44million US dollars, meaning this will only be a small dent in
00:05:48their trade relationship. moreover, it was reported
00:05:52in Bloomberg that British diplomats had brief US
00:05:55counterparts, that the sanctions are, quote, largely
00:05:58symbolic, and will have no material impact in the UK's
00:06:02wider relationship with Israel on trade or
00:06:05security. despite the teppid nature the
00:06:08sanctions, they invited a furious response from the zinanis.
00:06:12These foreign minister Gidian Saar announced that the British
00:06:16consulates in Alas Jerusalem would be closed, that
00:06:20British representatives will be expelled from the International AID Center for
00:06:24Gaza and that 12 elected British officials would be banned
00:06:28from entering design entity. Ben Gaver also announced his
00:06:32support for Argentina's claim to the Las Malvinas Islands or
00:06:36the Falklands and the US ambassador to Israel Mike
00:06:39Hockaby suggested that the US could impose. retaliatory
00:06:43trade measures against the UK, while the UK's measures
00:06:47against Israel
00:06:48are undoubtably weak and unlikely to cause serious material
00:06:52harm to Israel, they represent a clear shift in British government
00:06:56policy away from open and active support for zin
00:07:00is perpetrated genocide. well, joining me to

00:07:36Affairs Istanbul Zame university. welcome to the
00:07:39show.
00:07:41I mean, has the British. gone far enough with these sanctions in your opinion
00:07:45or was it too little too late? suspect you know my answer,
00:07:49chris, it's i think it's very performative, yes too little,
00:07:53yes too late, it's not too late in the sense that nothing can be done
00:07:56now, irreparable damage obviously has been done through three years of
00:08:00genocidal war against the people of gaza and the wider
00:08:04region, west bank and the wider region, um since we've had
00:08:08this labor government and i know we've had a switch of labor prime ministers -
00:08:12labor have absolutely, as you say, been pivotal, instrumental
00:08:15in the genocide, and if I my reading of history is that labor's always been
00:08:19actually a party of Zionism, that's not that there haven't been
00:08:23significant people within it such as yourself and Jeremy
00:08:26Corbin who stood for Palestine and stood against the main
00:08:30message the labor government, but you can go all the way back to 1924 and see
00:08:34Ramsay McDonald sign the black letter, I'm sorry for my
00:08:38pronunciation, in which he guaranteed you unlimited
00:08:42immigration. and also the ongoing apart system of labor
00:08:45laws within when Netanyahu Israel came
00:08:48and to and address and the labor conference, which he did, he he pointed out
00:08:52labor has always been a party of Zionism, this is very limited action only against the
00:08:55west bank settlements, the illegal settlements in certain areas the west
00:08:59bank, and and this comes a time when Israel has made quite clear,
00:09:03not just through Bengavir, but through all of its ministers and all of its actions, its intention to
00:09:07take the whole of Palestine and to to go to expand, so the
00:09:11concept that there's a good israel a bad Israel, we can do business with a good Israel, but the bad
00:09:15Israel these settlers somehow totally separate, and we can just stop module
00:09:18dates coming into the country and but carry on our otherwise eight billion trade and
00:09:22supporting and funding the genocide, it's clearly a
00:09:26flaud, and that calls it out to me as another performative action by the
00:09:30government, as you say, trying to protect its
00:09:32heartland and and voting electoral
00:09:36fortunes. was interesting that you talk about
00:09:40the history the the labor party, the uh the support
00:09:44for the the zionist colony ranjit, because going right back
00:09:48to when the zionist entity was established in in
00:09:521948, it was enthusiastically supported by leading
00:09:55left-wing figures inside the labour party, wasn't it? people like naie beven
00:09:59and in mardo were indeed tony benn i think at that time
00:10:02was supportive of the establishment
00:10:05of man you can understand you
00:10:09know
00:10:10from a historical perspective people's incredible sympathy. for the
00:10:13triviles, the suffering of jews under the hands the nazis, but of course they weren't
00:10:17alone in that suffering, the people of entire people of Europe suffered, 27
00:10:21million soviet citizens died, so there was a degree, and a high degree.
00:10:25of sympathy for the suffering the Jewish people of Europe at the hands of
00:10:29Nazism, but of that of course doesn't, you
00:10:33discount or somehow um dissolve the historical
00:10:37rights and the feelings the Arab population of
00:10:40Palestine, whose rights have been trampled over by the entire zianist
00:10:44settler colonial project. no, indeed, indeed. well,
00:10:47David, what said Milliband up to, do you think I mean i's
00:10:50announced even harsher sanctions to gates to Iran than the ones he's
00:10:54imposed. on the zionist entity? well, of course he has. mean, ed beband is
00:10:58not a critical zionism, he is a zionist himself, he's been labor friends of
00:11:02Israel as everybody should know, and of course what's happening
00:11:06here uh, you've used the word performative and i think ranjit did too, mean this is a
00:11:09performative measure and and the performance is that
00:11:13the British government is seen to be doing something serious and the
00:11:17performance is also that the zionists are seem to be resisting as
00:11:21if this is the end the possibility of Jews living in the UK. of
00:11:25course is ridiculous and of course everything that the chief rabbi says is
00:11:29ridiculous, he is
00:11:29a genocidal maniac, he trained a in
00:11:33yoshiva where he did IDF training in the evenings, so we should be taking
00:11:37any lessons in anything from the chief rabbi, but of course that's not
00:11:41how our political system operates, but look,
00:11:44this is a performative measure, yes, but it is does
00:11:47mark the first time that the british government has uh said that
00:11:51under international law, the whole the west bank is in legal
00:11:55occupation under international law, which of course everybody knew, but it's the first time the British government has
00:11:59said that, so that's a useful thing for us for the movement, because of course we can use
00:12:03that to leverage the some the the charities and other zionist
00:12:07organizations who are directly sponsoring the genocide by funding illegal
00:12:10settlements and of course the occupation forces, but let's see see
00:12:14also
00:12:15that the the question of what happens next, now the government will
00:12:19be thinking that they can as ranjit says uh just boycot
00:12:23a few middule dates and that that will be but of course what we have to do
00:12:26is we
00:12:27have to push this much much further, it's not that it's too little too late, it's that
00:12:30there is lot more we need to do, not just in terms of direct boycot, but
00:12:34also in terms of shutting down zionist organizations in this
00:12:37country, mean it seems to me
00:12:41David, the the chief rabbi is abusing
00:12:45his religious status you know to make
00:12:48these these these these
00:12:52arguments which are essentially excuse
00:12:56for a genocide? well, look, that's the problem
00:12:59with almost the whole of organized jury, isn't it? the chief rabbi
00:13:03represents something like 20 or 30% of Jews in this
00:13:07country, through the United Synagogue, which is the largest synagogue
00:13:11group in the country uh, and
00:13:14that they are united in their support for genocide, and they have been for
00:13:18very long time, they they run a whole series of schools and they have all their
00:13:21synagogues, all of which are openly on their way. so it's
00:13:25openly in support the genocide the existence the state of
00:13:29Israel, so there isn't really separable
00:13:32thing called religion that the that organized juryy has
00:13:36especially the mainstream orthodox jews who are
00:13:40associated with the united synagog and with the chief rabbi, so look he he's
00:13:43a genocide air and so are all the rest them in that particular fraction of
00:13:47of british jury and so that's what you would
00:13:51expect, no indeed, I suspect though people um...
00:13:55shy from from criticizing him because of his of his
00:13:59religious status and maybe that's why
00:14:01you know he gets away with as much as he he does do you think yes I think that's right I
00:14:05mean the thing is that uh that
00:14:09other religious leaders catholic or protestant even Hindu or Muslim
00:14:13religious leaders are asked about things to do with their religion but also
00:14:17to do with politics whereas with the with the chief rabbi I
00:14:21mean he is uh outwardly and a
00:14:25supporter of genocide and so we the thing is
00:14:29that that politics in britain hasn't found a way of dealing with that and
00:14:33understanding that properly and I suppose that's one the reasons why we do this show to
00:14:37try and help people to understand very very
00:14:40important role for the show I think in in that sense d
00:14:44but range you meanwhile ben gavier I mean Israel's
00:14:47so-called minister the national security is is supporting
00:14:51Argentina's claim to the Falkland Islands at the same time.
00:14:55Argentinas just announced that it's filing a criminal complaint
00:14:59against the Israeli oil company, navatas, I think they called for
00:15:02operating without Argentina's authorization in the waters
00:15:06around the the folks, I mean what's this all about do you think it is, it's
00:15:10an interesting uh s side hustle isn't it?
00:15:14I mean we've seen i spoke at David
00:15:16at the launch the anti-fascist international which is a an organization trying
00:15:20to pull and yourself of course trying to pull together um all
00:15:24the anti'.
00:15:37and trying to leverage all kinds of uh tech advantages and economic
00:15:41advantages that it enjoys um to have not only the abraham
00:15:45cause for the Isaac cause and being increasingly close to certain prime ministers
00:15:49including Miley. Miley is an ultra-right
00:15:52neoliberal school, very close to Trump, uh done done all
00:15:56the progressive policies the the previous governments of
00:16:00Argentina seeking to further burn down
00:16:03rainforest is working in partnership, very close partnership with Israel.
00:16:07at the same time, Argentina as a country which has technically been
00:16:11within the sphere, I'd view it as satellite colon the United States, but
00:16:15Britain historically had huge amount of interest there as
00:16:18well in investing in its silver, silver
00:16:21mining and and and so that has heavy capital
00:16:25investment, so that's why you historically Britain had the the
00:16:28argentinas argentina or the Falkland
00:16:32islands, we know obviously we fought a war, I think is 1984, something that was
00:16:35pivotal part of my... just before, just before the minor strike, pivotal
00:16:39part of 82,
00:16:42it was pivotal part of my upbringing, i remember it very much that iron lady versus
00:16:45general galti and all the rest of it and simon
00:16:49west who was like burnt on
00:16:51the on
00:16:51the on the ship and also this was a big part of our life, this imperial war, our boys
00:16:55sailing off to see, so maintaining our our the the
00:16:59remnance of our colonies is important to the functioning of british imperialism, so they
00:17:03will defend their sovereignty, but united states has
00:17:07made several plays of showing it wants to control the whole hemisphere, and you if these
00:17:11if the falklands fall to to to Argentina
00:17:14then in reality they they will fall under the tighter control the United States and
00:17:18I think that may well be in the interest of Israel,
00:17:20so despite the fact is an Israeli company that's doing the drilling
00:17:24currently if the
00:17:26you know Argentine claim to the Falklands is respected, I
00:17:29think historically they do have a right to to
00:17:33to to the Forkl islands, Britain has no more right to it than it does over
00:17:36you know the Diego. garcia base which they split as British Indian Ocean territory
00:17:40from from their their former uh
00:17:44colony in in the
00:17:45in the pacific sorry
00:17:46in the Indian Ocean so these these are kind they are mixed historical claim but of
00:17:50course the way in which different imperial powers pursue them reveals something about the
00:17:54relations between those powers so I think there's a slight dispute between Trump as there is over
00:17:57Greenland over the sovereignty the whole of that continent and
00:18:01Israel they have very close relationship with the Malay government so I think their
00:18:05oil interest fundamentally won't be a if the
00:18:08territory, if the sovereignty of those islands passes back to to
00:18:12Argentina, but historically Argentina has a right to the
00:18:15Falklands, no indeed, which is only what couple hundred mis off the
00:18:19Argentinian coast is supposed to be 800 miles away from the
00:18:22United Kingdom, but David, I mean we just spoke didn't
00:18:26we about the the chief rabbi, but number of Jewish
00:18:30communal organizations in the UK have also condemned
00:18:33milliman's limited sanctions, I mean this seems to be further.
00:18:37evidence doesn't it, that that these groups prioritize Israel's interests
00:18:41over Britain's interests, over Britain's interests. Well, that's right, I mean
00:18:45the the science movement does that, that's they they
00:18:48see the interest of what they call Israel as being paramoun, so it's not a
00:18:52question of dual loyalty, I mean it's often said that we are doubting their
00:18:56loyalty to Britain and they have a dual loyalty, no they don't have dual
00:19:00loyalty, they have a singular loyalty
00:19:02and that is the loyalty to the genocide in the levant,
00:19:05look what what's also going on here. "I think people um
00:19:09mistaking uh what's happening in terms the
00:19:12the the the the theater of this, yes of course this is theater, of course these are not
00:19:16serious sanctions, but of course we can also say I think that the
00:19:20response the zionists to this
00:19:23theater has its own theatrical dimensions, so for for example what's
00:19:27happened is that they have banned 12 British people
00:19:31from uh entering the the colony uh and they are uh something
00:19:35like I think it's six uh labor" former labor mps including Jeremy
00:19:39Corbin and
00:19:41uh uh and others and of course they've
00:19:44also banned five green MPs along with a
00:19:48lawyer um the uh the lawyer who has
00:19:52been involved in uh the case for the
00:19:55deprescription of Hamas so that's that's kind
00:19:59of interesting that that's happened of course it's a batch of honor for them to be banned in this
00:20:03way but it's not a serious uh issue nor
00:20:07is the uh closure the UK consul British
00:20:10consulate east Jerusalem, of course that's intended to hurt the
00:20:13Palestinians as opposed to anyone else, they've not councelled any contracts,
00:20:17they're not seeking to rip up the massive agreements they have to uh
00:20:21to uh penetrate and get contracts with the national health service
00:20:25etc etc
00:20:26so that it's not that's not serious, but so what what is
00:20:30going on given the the communal organizations are saying that this is
00:20:33terrible, it's the worst amount of due hatred they've seen for.
00:20:37whatever
00:20:38it is, the last week or the last month or whatever else that they say, so
00:20:41what what is happening here though is of course that these
00:20:45sanctions by imposed by the zionists are
00:20:49simply a... small part their response, we saw
00:20:53another part their response before the measure was introduced, and that is the more
00:20:57serious level their response, and that of course was the
00:21:00the uh the march by what we refer to in the press
00:21:04is black shirts in Dover, now those are
00:21:07those um far right people, I suppose the they're called, these
00:21:11were marching to pursue the interests the state of
00:21:15Israel, and they were of course funded through this guy Danny tomo,
00:21:18former uh... bouncer for Tommy Robinson,
00:21:22Tel Aviv Tommy uh funded by the Middle East
00:21:26forum in the US, one the key think tanks in the Islamophobia
00:21:29network funded by Zyanis Funders as as are all the rest the Islamophobia
00:21:33network in the US, so what we're seeing here is the just
00:21:37like we have with the the riots after South Pole is that the zionists put
00:21:41their tanks on the lawn as well as having sort
00:21:45theatrical counter sanctions and this is a warning to the British
00:21:48state to go no further. uh uh or the or or
00:21:52race war will be launched by the zionists in the
00:21:56UK, that's what's really going on
00:21:57there, return if i
00:22:01may to uh edvan's motivation for
00:22:05uh the announcement that he he made, i think we're agree there was a degree of
00:22:09performative politics going on there, but i'm just interested in
00:22:13your take on the on the reaction uh
00:22:16to is very limited um sanctions that... he has
00:22:20announced, mean you think that looking at some the
00:22:24hysterical headlines and the response from the zanist
00:22:27lobby that that britain had declared war
00:22:31on on Israel, what do you make the
00:22:34reaction to milliban's
00:22:36announcement in the
00:22:38in the corporate media and in the wider zianist lobby? well the
00:22:42corporate media is just the reflection of what they're told to
00:22:45report by the zionists themselves, who are their main
00:22:49sources? of course there are zins inside the media corporations and
00:22:53key roles in almost all the corporations, some them of course are
00:22:57explicitly zionist corporations including the telegraph's new owners
00:23:01who who fly is really flags outside their offices,
00:23:04so uh but what the designers do is that they they go
00:23:08absolutely crazy at the least possible criticism in order to make
00:23:12it look like they're really serious about this, but that's what they
00:23:15do, and of course in order to push back again you
00:23:19have to... ignored this and you have to understand that this is all
00:23:23performance, they are performative, so when we say that the sanctions
00:23:27are performative, they are like performative to to to the
00:23:30end degree because they go absolutely crazy over something which is not really very serious
00:23:34at all, no indeed and range, what's your
00:23:38take on the on the response from the corporate media and and the
00:23:41zinish lobby? yeah, I'm in total agreement,
00:23:45that they're not serious measures, but if you react in a way that makes them
00:23:49seem oh... beyond the pale on the one hand, you you're pushing the scale
00:23:52back to make sure no serious measures are taken against Israel, on the other hand you
00:23:56make them seem like much more than they really are, and in that way you
00:23:59hand, edmiller band and the new leaders of
00:24:03the labour party some kind of credentials for being pro-
00:24:06palestine, which reassures their core votes, think a lot of
00:24:10it is about protecting labor electorally from the rising
00:24:14greens, so you know,
00:24:15i have concerns about the greens, because you all know as do that the greens
00:24:19also adopted the IHRA definition of anti-semitism, which
00:24:23essentially ensures that they never take serious criticism of
00:24:26Israel and
00:24:27that they discipline any their members who are serious critics of Israel, so despite the fact they got
00:24:31a groundswell of people who used to be in labor pursuing a pro-palestine
00:24:35anti-war anti-genocide policy who've now gone to the greens, they've
00:24:39adopted resolution which stops them from pursuing that and they've got a serious fight on their hands
00:24:43trying to get rid of that, and i wonder whether they're going to be up to the task, but
00:24:46electorally and on the on the
00:24:49on the on the front... cover, it shows all labor is returning to its
00:24:52position of justice and it makes people for real shore, many people, 10 million
00:24:56people have marched in solidarity with Palestine, and they want to feel
00:25:00that, politics somehow reflects them, so you have to sometimes make a
00:25:04concession to reality to make it look as if we've recognized that, we've dealt with
00:25:08it, now everything's fine, and lot of people will be lulled by that because that's what they
00:25:11see. yes, now indeed, although just to be fair to
00:25:15the to the green party, there is motion before the conference next month I
00:25:19believe, which will stipulate if it's pass that the
00:25:23zinism is indeed racism, so we'll have to see how
00:25:26that pans out, mean there
00:25:28was an attempt to to pass that motion at an online
00:25:31conference in the spring, but that got phillybusted by the by the
00:25:35zianist membership the uh green party at that time, but
00:25:39anyway that'll be one to what to watch, but props finally david bause we are
00:25:43quite short of times i may not get chance to ask a further question to
00:25:46ranji, but mean talking about the response,
00:25:50Israel threatened, didn't they reprisals against
00:25:54these these sanctions and just two and a half hours
00:25:57after miliban's announcement, british air traffic control
00:26:01suffered an hours outage that affected around 2000
00:26:05flights to and from London airports, I mean was that
00:26:08coincidence, I mean could Israel have had something
00:26:11to to do with it, indeed
00:26:12do they even have the capability to have inflicted
00:26:16such inconvenience, well look, I don't know if they have the
00:26:19capability, it wouldn't surprise me if they did, it wouldn't be surprised me
00:26:23either if they were involved, but we don't have
00:26:26any evidence of that so far, I mean I think what we do know is that they are
00:26:29threatening all sorts of activities, one of course. is the the black
00:26:33shirts on the streets in dover, that's absolutely caused by the zionists and
00:26:37marshal by the zionis and part their strategy to threaten the british state, that's what they
00:26:41do every time there's a possibility, last time the creation the
00:26:45recognition the palestinian state, they launched rights, race rights after the
00:26:48southport incident, so that that's what that's what they do, that's their
00:26:52strategy, but the the other thing to say of course is that
00:26:55we've seen attacks in this country recently, alleged
00:26:59anti-semitic attacks, new pro
00:27:03Iranian terror group
00:27:05was was launched and did attacks in Greece and France and Belgium and the Netherlands and then
00:27:09of course in the UK and the purpose of that
00:27:13operation run by the zines of course was to launch false flag
00:27:17operations which didn't actually hurt any Jewish people but which looked like they
00:27:21were serious anti-semitic attacks but which would have the result of
00:27:24reallocating resources from the British state to organized
00:27:28jury and of course also passing the uh the banning the prescription the
00:27:32rgc that that's what they're doing and of course it's also been threats
00:27:36from the reform Jewish alliance which is led by guy
00:27:40called gary mond who was so racist that he was expelled from the board of
00:27:43deputies
00:27:44and he's been more or less threatening armed terror
00:27:48attacks by design
00:27:49so that's the kind of thing which they're thinking of no indeed absolutely
00:27:52something that we need to be very vigilant about but I'm afraid that's all we got
00:27:56time for today so I'd like to thank our guest Ranjit Braw and of course our resident
00:28:00expert David Miller if you want to support this you can follow us on x,
