00:00:20The occupation ended with the blood of Afghan martyrs,
00:00:24and independence was brought
00:00:26to our beloved country.
00:04:05Defending Islamic and national values, preserving
00:04:09independence, national sovereignty, territorial integrity,
00:04:12and ensuring better security is our national
00:04:16and Islamic responsibility.
00:04:30Independence, 24th of Asad, is a symbol of pride
00:04:34and solidarity of the Afghan nation.
00:04:56O brave Afghans, and my happiness,
00:05:13in the name of the great and exalted God, dear viewers, especially
00:05:16welcome to the Kawoosh program with me, Karimullah Ibrahimi.
00:05:20With the approaching 24th of Asad and the fifth
00:05:23anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Emirate, examining the economic
00:05:27path of Afghanistan in the past 5 years and the outlook
00:05:30for the next 5 years is of special importance.
00:05:34During this period, expanding economic
00:05:37relations with regional countries and beyond, efforts
00:05:41to implement large projects within the
00:05:44development of transit routes and connecting
00:05:47Afghanistan to the regional
00:05:50economy, increasing domestic production, and strengthening the
00:05:53banking, agriculture, and mining sectors have been at the forefront
00:05:57of economic policies, and this path continues
00:06:01to this day. How much has the economic
00:06:05policy of the Islamic Emirate been able to
00:06:07provide the conditions for the growth of production, investment,
00:06:11and improvement of people's livelihoods in the past 5 years?
00:06:15And finally, what should be the most
00:06:18important priorities and future plans for maintaining
00:06:21economic stability and transforming Afghanistan into a country connected
00:06:24to regional and global markets, so that these policies and programs
00:06:28can be used optimally in the next 5 years?
00:06:32We will discuss these issues here in the program.
00:06:35Stay with us here in Seydou with Mr. Mohammad
00:06:39Tavoos Farzad, an expert on economic issues who is here in
00:07:42All international and foreign aid was suspended.
00:07:46Currently, only humanitarian aid is being provided, and
00:07:49also, the banking reserves or the banking
00:07:52support of Afghanistan that we had outside Afghanistan were frozen
00:07:56in banks. Also, institutions
00:08:00and some other organizations left Afghanistan, which unfortunately
00:08:03in the early days, we faced economic problems.
00:08:07But the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was able to overcome
00:08:11them with its policy and cooperation.
00:10:25In Afghanistan, any transaction that takes place, monetary
00:10:28and economic transactions, all take place with Afghan currency.
00:10:32Another issue was that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan
00:10:36did not allow the dollar to leave Afghanistan.
00:10:39For example, they restricted the dollar so that
00:10:43anyone leaving Afghanistan was allowed to take up to $5,000
00:10:46out of Afghanistan, which itself
00:10:49helped to preserve money
00:10:52in Afghanistan.
00:17:37So, it came down. When the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan came to power,
00:17:41I think it reached up to $30. Then it's on the rise.
00:17:45That means it's going up. We, I think,
00:17:49will reach up to $500. individuals.
00:17:52This means that various sectors, including the agricultural sector,
00:17:55have seen very good work. We see that our mineral sector,
00:17:59our minerals, are being contracted out.
00:18:02For example, hundreds of small
00:18:05and large mines have been contracted out.
00:21:50Our exports have reached 2 billion dollars. This means that
00:21:53the total trade of Afghanistan is 13 billion dollars,
00:21:57of which a large part is imports, which
00:22:00is 11 billion dollars of our imports and 2 billion dollars of our exports.
00:22:04Look, when the roads to Pakistan were closed,
00:22:08we were able to shift our trade towards Iran,
00:22:11and we were able to have good trade
00:22:14with Iran, even though Iran
00:22:18has not been in Afghanistan's favor for years.
00:22:21Of course, Iran has been a country that may
00:22:24not have done worthy things in Afghanistan's
00:22:28internal affairs, security, and cultural
00:22:32affairs. But we were able to have good trade with Iran.
00:22:35Even during the war between Iran, America, and Israel,
00:22:39our trade was going on with India.
00:22:42Our trade with India is going on. For example, we were able
00:22:46to buy 100 million dollars worth of medicine.
00:23:20also flourish. What we know about Afghanistan, and
00:23:24what analysts have repeatedly said in programs, economic
00:23:27analysts have said that Afghanistan, as a transit center,
00:23:30at least has the status of a regional transit center.
00:23:33Afghanistan's economic crossroads
00:23:37for the region and other countries beyond it is
00:23:40a very fundamental factor and a great achievement for Afghanistan
00:23:44that regional countries, as well as foreign countries and beyond,
00:23:48can make proper use of this
00:23:50geographical region. In this regard, how much
00:23:54work has been done in the five-year plan, the same status that
00:23:57Afghanistan has had for many years, the historical status that
00:24:00will be the economic and transit crossroads of the region? How much attention
00:24:04has been paid to this, and where have we
00:24:07reached, Mr.
00:24:10Ibrahimi? Let's look at the projects
00:24:14related to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. The projects
00:24:17have stopped. In Afghanistan, the work is ongoing.
00:27:02come into being, and what are the ways to turn these challenges
00:27:06into opportunities? I think one of the problems is that Pakistan
00:27:09should be convinced of this, because the large projects that
00:27:13we see coming from Central Asia through Afghanistan to
00:27:17Pakistan, or through Pakistan to India, for example, if it is
00:27:20the TAPI project, or the Casa project, or the Afghan
00:27:24Trans project, we need to talk to Pakistan
00:27:27so that these years of obstacles to these
00:27:31projects can be removed.
