00:00:50is firmly top with solid majority. The runner-up
00:00:53is the communist party with almost 14% and the
00:00:57Liberal

00:01:04of tried to undermine the elections with a massive attack. As almost

00:01:11in a single day. The targeted assault on the Russian capital

00:01:22millions being cast around the Donbas, but with every
00:01:25vote cast in the

00:01:29of the Donbas. show that those threats don't
00:01:33scare them.

00:02:47of polls have closed, there's still a lot to see, count and discuss as the final
00:02:51figures won't be officially confirmed until next Friday. currently,
00:02:55here are the preliminary results after about one
00:02:58of quarter of
00:02:58of the ballots have. been tallied, the ruling United Russia party
00:03:02is firmly in the lead with
00:03:04of solid majority. The runner-up is the communist party with about
00:03:0814%. And in third place is the Liberal Democratic
00:03:11Party with a
00:03:12of little over 9%. Our correspondent

00:03:23of votes are being counted. What else can you tell us about the latest
00:03:26developments? Hi there.
00:03:30Nicki, well coming to you live from the very heart
00:03:32of the Russian capital, I think we actually have the most beautiful
00:03:36of spot with the Kremlin just behind
00:03:37of me, of as the polling stations across the nation have
00:03:41officially closed and the turnouts um has actually exceeded
00:03:4556%. It's been a busy three days for everyone
00:03:49taking part uh in the
00:03:51of organization process, but a more busy night
00:03:54of awaits ahead as the uh ballots are currently being counted
00:03:58and from what we know so... far and the
00:04:01of statistics are as follows: um, the United Russia party, the
00:04:05of current ruling party, is leading with just a little over
00:04:0957%. uh, the communist party is behind
00:04:13with nearly 14%. LDPR gets
00:04:169.31%, the new people is
00:04:19behind the LDPR with 7.99%, and
00:04:23a just Russia party is coming last uh in this
00:04:27list with just a little over... percent and
00:04:31just a quick reminder on how uh the elections
00:04:35actually work, well the stay doumer has uh
00:04:38450 deputies that are elected
00:04:42through uh two ballots, well um and these are divided into
00:04:47of 225 and 225. there are
00:04:49225 seats elected through party
00:04:53list and the other 225 are
00:04:57elected through single member constituent.
00:05:00so in practice once again we have two voting ballets and
00:05:04to enter
00:05:05in the state duma the party has to get
00:05:085%
00:05:09of the vote the actual political party needs to get. 5% the
00:05:13vote and we know that Russia is an enormous country
00:05:16stretching over 11 time zones, but for the first time in
00:05:20Russia's modern history, four new regions are taking
00:05:24part in this parliamentary elections and these are the
00:05:28Donask People's Republic, the Lugansk People's Republic, Zaparoji and
00:05:32Herson regions and so across Russia
00:05:36alone over 90,000 polling stations have
00:05:39been uh worked hard um across the nation. and um
00:05:43to allow Russian citizens to cast their ballots, and actually
00:05:47um, the uh voting system was very interesting
00:05:51and
00:05:52easy one, because uh, besides actually going
00:05:54to the polling station and casting your ballot, you could
00:05:57also vote online, and this is what I personally did, I cast my vote online, and that
00:06:01was actually very, very convenient, so um, once
00:06:05again we are waiting for the for more results to come and we'll of
00:06:09you course updated on
00:06:10keep that, thank you, well, "you know, was very busy weekend of
00:06:14voting amid a massive Ukrainian attack as
00:06:18well. Tell us more about this, because the Russian defense ministry called it

00:07:06been casualties uh in Moscow region for example three
00:07:10children have been wounded and unfortunately people have been killed
00:07:13to um, well, and to this unprecedented
00:07:17attack, the Russian defense ministry released the following
00:07:20statement. In an effort to undermine
00:07:23the democratic will the citizens the Russian Federation, as
00:07:27expressed in the elections to the state Duma the Federal Assembly
00:07:31the Russian Federation, the Kiev regime launched a massive
00:07:34attack on the territory the Russian Federation on September
00:07:3719th and 20th of this year, using UAVs and
00:07:41Flamingo. cruise missiles. In response to the Kiv regime's attacks
00:07:45on civilian targets on Russian territory, the armed forces the Russian
00:07:49Federation will intensify their strikes with high precision
00:07:53weapons against military targets in
00:07:55Kiev. So
00:07:58you know, it doesn't come as a surprise that Kiev used
00:08:01this election, the uh the process uh to carry out
00:08:05unprecedented attack when Russian citizens as a
00:08:09democratic nation headed to the polling stations. cast their
00:08:13ballots and to vote um and um
00:08:16while all this happened um we know that Ukraine its behalf
00:08:20itself fails to carry um out the presidential
00:08:24election have failed for the past two years um citing martial
00:08:28law the 9 million Ukrainians that are abroad um
00:08:32and this has all been happening since Zelensky's presidential term had
00:08:35expired back in May of
00:08:372024 thank you so much for
00:08:41updating us that's correspondent in the heart of Moscow there Anastasia

00:08:48egos danov is reporting from one the headquarters of United
00:08:51Russia as the country's ruling party is firmly leading the
00:08:55race. The atmosphere certainly has been cheerful here, there's
00:08:59other word for it, and after all, if you look at the caliber of people
00:09:03that United Russia can show its roaster, well
00:09:06it certainly can't complain in that department, here we've spoken to
00:09:10heroes of Russia to dec. offices, veterans the
00:09:14special military operation of in Ukraine, it's
00:09:18acting senators, acting MPs, you name it, they all have
00:09:21gathered here to together find out the
00:09:25outcome of this election, and well to finally
00:09:28find themselves victorious in this race, it has been
00:09:32a long, rather long race, after all, people have
00:09:36been voting for three days and and well again the turnout
00:09:40has been quite significant, it has been... larger than uh
00:09:44five years ago and they
00:09:46you know the people uh the people of this party of United Russia uh
00:09:50it's members they have spoken openly about how happy
00:09:54they are that people chose to go and vote that they
00:09:57utilized these uh you know all the electronic uh
00:10:00methods that have been there available for the general population for
00:10:04the low mobility people in hospitals and so to to
00:10:08vote without having to go to the polling station.
00:10:12without having, you know, without having to physically appear at the polling
00:10:16booths, and especially they have talked about how
00:10:20people in the new regions of Russia, people in the border regions of
00:10:24Russia, and I'm talking... about the border regions, the ones that border with Ukraine, of
00:10:27course, that they were unphazed by the threats, they were
00:10:31unphazed by the constant threats of drones, of missile attacks and
00:10:35they went and voted and voted unmass. after all,
00:10:39if you look at the turnout in the Lugansk people's republic and the Dunetsk people's
00:10:42republic, those turnouts, they have been quite spectacular, well
00:10:46above the average across the country, and in fact I
00:10:50asked the senator representing the Lugansk people's republic, I
00:10:54asked her, I asked her uh what she
00:10:58thinks about it, what she thinks about the people who still
00:11:02in her hometown in her home region, they went and
00:11:05they decided to participate in this first election

00:11:17is unprecedentedly high in the Dunetsk and Lugansk Republics at
00:11:21about 80%. For the people, this is indeed very important.
00:11:24event, another step on the path of integration with Russia, because the
00:11:28residents the reunited historical regions are electing their representatives
00:11:32and parliament members for the first time. Indeed, there were many provocations
00:11:36and dangers. We have once again been convinced that our people cannot be
00:11:40intimidated. They steadfastly withstood these trials. Our
00:11:43adversary targeted energy and civil infrastructure with attacks intended to
00:11:47intimidate our people,
00:11:49to force them not to go to the polling stations, to jeopadizing the entire voting
00:11:53process. and well the threat, it was
00:11:57as real as it gets, after all, at least one member the electoral
00:12:00committee was killed in a Ukrainian strike in the Zaparogia
00:12:04region of Russia, and so really people they did risk
00:12:08literally risk their lives to go and have a have a
00:12:12go a democratic say that they have now as part of Russia,
00:12:16but they weren't the only ones uh you know taking this risk,
00:12:19Moscow uh was targeted by Ukrainian
00:12:22uh long-ranged uh attack uh over the past over
00:12:26the past three days really, there was several waves these attacks and
00:12:30- you had also international observers working at the polling
00:12:34stations and they took note of Russia's you
00:12:38know of how Russia has digitalized the voting process and they
00:12:42were quite impressed, they some uh some uh delegates, some uh
00:12:46well some the representatives the African of some African
00:12:49nations, they well they said that they might seek to
00:12:53adopt some of that technology and bring them
00:12:57to bring this technology to their home country. I
00:13:00asked an acting MP Perstoy as to what he
00:13:04thinks about this this representation when it comes to international
00:13:08observers and the general
00:13:11digitalization the vote here in Russia, what
00:13:14he he's what he had to say. We have a large
00:13:18team of international observers working in these elections and not just in
00:13:21Moscow. Everyone has noted how far Russia has advanced in terms of...
00:13:25technology for organizing the electoral process. This is transparent
00:13:29and verificable for voters. It is easy to understand and most importantly
00:13:32convenient for people to use. For us, it absolutely does not matter
00:13:36whether our former western partners recognize the elections or not, every
00:13:40day they tell stories about how bad we are, what monsters we are, and this
00:13:44entire wave of russophobia, I'm sure, will also spill over into the
00:13:47finalization the election results. For us, the most important thing is that
00:13:51the elections are recognized as fair and objective by our citizens. by our
00:13:55Russian voters, our legitimacy lies in the citizens of Russia and
00:13:59their voice, the trust the people is a politician's greatest
00:14:02asset, now there's still there is going to be
00:14:06few days that the Russian electoral committee will take to
00:14:09finalize the counter of all the votes, but it is already pretty
00:14:13clear that United Russia it is quite comfortably in the
00:14:17lead, well over 50% the public support,
00:14:21they have it, and so it's leadermit has already... he
00:14:25said addressing people here uh in uh in the people's in the
00:14:29public support HQ the United Russia party, he has
00:14:32said that now that they know that they have this public
00:14:36support, well they now United Russia can be more
00:14:40ambitious and it can really pursue everything that
00:14:44it stands for and uh really try and
00:14:48put forward their vision, bring closer their
00:14:51vision of success for Russia. multiple
00:14:55polling stations were open in Russian embassies in many locations for
00:14:59citizens who are currently abroad. Here are some pictures from
00:15:03voting locations around the world, from Armenia to the
00:15:06UAE. Russian voters also actively cast their ballots in
00:15:10European countries. Some these expatriates stress that it's
00:15:14important to express their position issues even if they live
00:15:17outside their homeland. We
00:15:21must always express our civic stands regardless.
00:15:25in the world or in our country, but right now, in 2026, it
00:15:29seems to me that the world is on the brink of very significant changes, and
00:15:33Russia has a duty to face them with dignity. That's why everyone should
00:15:37vote. "We've lived here for very long time and our
00:15:40families are here, that's all, but my heart and soul and my homeland
00:15:44are there, and I travel to Russia every year, so it's very
00:15:48important. I came here to support Russia, and our
00:15:52choice matters too, even for those of us living abroad, so that relations between

00:16:32vote. several hundred people are expected to attend each the polling
00:16:36stations set up in time. Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and loss and
00:16:40voters there explained why they wanted to ex exercise their
00:16:43democratic rights despite being thousands of kilometers away from
00:16:47home for me this day is very important
00:16:51for our country and we uh from my
00:16:55point of view every Russian citizen should
00:16:58vote for their future. I think it's really

00:17:08our opinion and yeah,

00:17:16it is really important for Russian people abroad to take part
00:17:20in these elections, as it is
00:17:23very about to express
00:17:27fair will, a political will
00:17:30uh so that community in Russia, Russia people
00:17:33and international community would know '
00:18:08reports from polls that have been opened in south africa where Russian citizens went
00:18:12to cast their ballots. Russian citizens living
00:18:16in South Africa are turning out to cast their ballots in Russia's parliamentary

00:18:59priorities for the country's domestic trajectory as well as foreign
00:19:03policy. we believe we are still, we're still staying russians
00:19:07whether? far away from Russia or we living in Moscow, one thing which unite all of
00:19:10us is is Russia, is our home, it is a symbol the
00:19:14any democratic society, which should have, that should allow it
00:19:18citizens who want to vote to vote. what
00:19:22is the most important thing is the future, future of my country, future
00:19:26of my family, so that's why i have to make this
00:19:29choice, and that's
00:19:31why.

00:22:03administrative documents. yet few are
00:22:06afraid, people are used to drones and
00:22:09missiles. verbal threats no longer
00:22:12carry the same weight. tell me, have you been
00:22:16intimidated? did Zelensky threaten you saying you shouldn't go to these?
00:22:25Of course not, generally speaking it is very difficult to intimidate me,

00:23:24the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine
00:23:28are illegitimate. It is, of course, ironic that
00:23:32Ukraine forbids Ukrainians from voting in these
00:23:36Russian elections, because neither does it allow
00:23:39Ukrainians themselves any elections. They're too
00:23:43dangerous, says the former president of
00:23:46Ukraine. Elections as such are huge risk.
00:23:50Elections right now are a tsunami which could split Ukraine.
00:23:53Again, the irony: Ukraine professes to be fighting for
00:23:57freedom and democracy, but says elections are too
00:24:01dangerous. Russia, which Kiev accuses of aggression and
00:24:05tyrany, holds elections even in
00:24:07war. He's holding elections in September. He needs a
00:24:11united society that will support his united Russia.
00:24:15Zelensky, on the other hand, doesn't need his society's
00:24:19support. his term expired two years ago
00:24:22and no one can do anything about it. he already
00:24:26controls all Ukrainian media, all newspapers
00:24:30and online publications, full spectrum
00:24:34propaganda. anyone who criticizes him can be
00:24:37sanctioned, Ukrainian or otherwise, else

00:25:40Zelensky, the aid money pours in
00:25:44and it can be divided up and shared around
00:25:48between friends. the only concern is the people
00:25:52of Ukraine forced brutally to fight a war
00:25:56they don't want to fight in by a president they
00:25:59don't want blasted by propaganda. they don't
00:26:03agree with, and there's nothing they can do about
00:26:06it, but daydream. We must find a legal, safe and
00:26:10realistic mechanism that will allow Ukraine to restore a full-fledged
00:26:14democratic process even under the conditions of a prolonged
00:26:17war. This is difficult. We must guarantee the right to vote for our
00:26:20military, for millions of Ukrainians abroad, and for those in the
00:26:24frontline regions. We must ensure the security the electoral
00:26:28process, the independence of institutions, and trust in the
00:26:31results. If Russia could do it, then so could
00:26:35Ukraine, and the only thing stopping elections in
00:26:38Ukraine is the former president, one
00:26:41Zelensky who just doesn't want to
