01:20:52There is a chain set up by distributors
01:20:56who buy from producers and deliver to markets
01:21:00and consumers, especially wholesalers. There
01:21:03is a system here, what is it? Now, they bought it from the producer
01:21:07for 9 liras, and invoiced it for 38 liras.
01:21:10They bought it from the producer for 11 liras,
01:21:13and invoiced it for 48 liras. Some of them showed
01:21:16that they bought from non-existent names,
01:21:20dead names. That is, from someone
01:21:23who is not alive, for example, they bought
01:21:27tomatoes for 7 liras from a deceased person,
01:21:31but they invoiced it for 48 liras.
01:21:34And while doing this, they inflated the price
01:21:37by issuing invoices from here to there,
01:21:41from there to here. Now, the producer says,
01:21:44"Sometimes we see it, sometimes they
01:21:47even throw them on the roads. We buy it for 8 liras,
01:21:50and people in the cities eat it for 48 liras."
01:21:53Even if they ate it for 48 liras, people
01:21:56would still be grateful. What is sold for 8 liras
01:22:00sometimes goes up to 80 liras. Of course, that supplier
01:22:03invoices it for 48 liras, and then the markets
01:22:06they sell it to sell it for 80 or 100 liras.
01:22:09That is, 10 times. A price increase of 30% or 40%
01:22:13would be understandable, it would be due to transportation
01:22:16or other current expenses, but here
01:22:20a complete system of robbery has been established.
01:22:24Here, the consumer is a victim, and the interesting
01:22:27thing is that the producer is also a victim. That
01:22:30is, he sells it for 8 liras, for 7 liras, he
01:22:33bears the costs of producing it, he
01:22:36bears the labor costs, he bears the irrigation
01:22:39costs, if energy is consumed there, he bears that
01:22:42cost. He bears these costs and produces
01:22:46it for 8 liras. The cost of this is 5.5
01:22:50to 6 liras. That is, the most he earns
01:22:53there is 2 liras. The person who buys
01:22:57it, the person who buys it, that is, the supplier
01:23:00there, by invoicing what he bought for 8 liras
01:23:04for 38 liras, immediately earns 30 liras. Then
01:23:07he transfers it to his other companies, as
01:23:11if one company bought it from another, and another
01:23:14bought it from another. They inflate the invoice.
01:23:17So, the consumer is being robbed. In this
01:23:20respect, they have entered from the right place.
01:23:23This needs to continue. It is this: from the
01:23:26suppliers who collect from the producers,
01:23:30there is also a system that takes from these
01:23:33suppliers and distributes to chain markets. We experienced
01:23:37this not only with fresh vegetables and fruits,
01:23:41but also with sugar and sunflower oil.
01:23:45Of course, these are chains that follow
01:23:48each other. A company establishes 10 companies,
01:23:51buys sunflower oil from one company,
01:23:54invoices it to another company, invoices it
01:23:58to another company. We eat what they bought
01:24:01for 15 liras for 150 liras. That is, by invoicing
01:24:04on paper, they increase their profit 10
01:24:08or 20 times. What does this mean? It means
01:24:11that citizens are becoming 10 or 20 times poorer
01:24:14and being robbed. But in the case of fresh
01:24:17vegetables, it's completely this: They issue
01:24:21high invoices for it needs to continue from here, and
01:24:25a very important point is that in economics, what is called elasticity,
01:24:28that is, the flexibility of the supply and demand of a good,
01:24:32whether it exists or not, also triggers inflation. For example,
01:24:35you may not buy a desired
01:24:38product, a luxury product, of course,
01:24:42but because people have to buy essential goods, basic food
01:24:46items like tomatoes, potatoes, and onions.
01:24:50As you said, it affects not only consumption
01:24:54but also production, and it affects macroeconomic
01:24:58balances. We are really talking about a manipulation,
01:25:01a price manipulation, of a magnitude that can truly

01:27:21and the producer. Because the producer is also harmed both in terms of
01:27:24profit from the product they produce and, in a sense,
01:27:28when you look at this process, the time frame
01:27:31for bringing it to the markets and the process
01:27:35within which both parties are victimized,
01:27:38is a file. Therefore, I would like to continue by
01:27:41reminding of the issue that Mr. Selvin mentioned.
01:27:45Two elections ago, there was an issue with potatoes and onions
01:27:48in Turkey, you know. Especially
01:27:51afterwards, during the election process,
01:27:55some of these were consciously stocked, and certain actions and attitudes
01:27:58were deliberately taken to increase prices by stocking.
01:28:02This was even heavily debated at the time, it was a period when the issue
01:28:05of organized sales was also discussed. Now,
01:28:09therefore, putting all these side by side over time,
01:28:12for example, during the Covid period, some products were launched
01:28:15as if they would be consumed immediately and would not last,
01:28:18causing their prices to skyrocket.
