00:04:32of president J.D. Vence talking about the Trump team in direct communication with the
00:04:36hooties. Uh, you, the Trump team did attack the
00:04:39hooties with air strikes twice, once in 2024 and once in
00:04:44of 2025, and usually it's a pretty big no for presidential administration
00:04:48to have direct communication with someone they believe is a
00:04:51terrorist
00:04:53of group. However, the Trump team was in communication with Hamas
00:04:56in the lead-up to that Gaza
00:04:59of ceasefire, so that... might not be as unexpected for the Trump team in all of
00:05:03this. Now axios is reporting that last July, just a couple months
00:05:06ago, the Saudis were telling the Trump team that they could handle the hooties on their
00:05:10own, that they didn't need help. but now with these increased attacks,
00:05:14apparently the Saudis do need more help, but the Trump team
00:05:17reportedly says they do not want to open up new front in this
00:05:21war, they just want to concentrate on Iran, trying to keep the
00:05:25straight of homos open, they don't want to open up new front uh
00:05:29to to help the Saudis in this regard militarily, however this
00:05:33does obviously drag the Saudis into uh this
00:05:36siranian conflict with the US, which is exactly the big fear that everyone had
00:05:40that this would become a widening war.
00:05:44Iranian state media say a drone strike has hit two Iranian
00:05:48fishing boats leaving several people missing. the strike happened near the
00:05:52port of Kargan along the state of hormoz. a separate incident
00:05:55aran's revolutionary guards says an oil tanker exploded and caught
00:05:59fire after striking mines in the waterway. the
00:06:02IRGC says the vessel entered what it called a prohibited
00:06:06zone, but the US military disputes that account saying the tanker
00:06:10was previously struck by Iran and rended. inoperable last
00:06:13month. Ryan Boll is a senior Middle East and North Africa analyst at
00:06:17the Risk Assistant Network Exchange. He says Washington
00:06:21currently has little incentive escalate its attacks on
00:06:24Iran. I would describe it as
00:06:27latent, that is that a single incident like this is
00:06:31unlikely to trigger the full-scale spring escalation that
00:06:35we saw uh for different reasons. From the American perspective, their
00:06:39low ammunitions,
00:06:40the the Pentagon Inspector General came out. like with how low those munitions
00:06:44are, and so it's no secret that the Americans have simply run out the
00:06:47high-end equipment that they prefer for this kind of war, and the political will in
00:06:51Washington is also very low for regional escalation, plus we're also
00:06:55dealing with all the economic effects the closure of hormoves from higher
00:06:59than normal bond rates to growing inflation worries to
00:07:03higher gas prices. There's a lot of reasons that the US wants to to not seize
00:07:07a single moment uh to return to that escalation that we saw in the
00:07:11spring from the Iran. perspective it's similar in that they believe that their
00:07:15current strategy is paying off against the Americans, undermining their
00:07:18economy, undermining their political will, so there's not a strong incentive to
00:07:22go back to a full-scale escalation unless they are provoked by the
00:07:26Americans first, and so we're that's where we're at is we're looking at the
00:07:30Americans as the first movers for escalation, but at least at the
00:07:33moment there's not a strong driver to do so at the scale we saw earlier this
00:07:37year. Oil prices are rising as
00:07:41concerns. grow over possible disruptions to global
00:07:44supplies. the international benchmark brent crude has climbed to
00:07:48around $107 a barrel, while key Saudi oil
00:07:52pipeline is expected to be out of service weeks after attack
00:07:56on Friday, but energy and oil market analyst Garab Sharma says
00:08:00increased US oil supplies are helping ease some the
00:08:04pressure. what we have witnessing is that
00:08:08we are sort of back to March, April levels, the height the Iran war.
00:08:12and the reason for that is not because there is shortaging of oil in the market,
00:08:16but rather both choke points, hormose and barbel straight
00:08:20are causing a lot of consennation
00:08:22in the market. in this part the world, asia, there is lot
00:08:26of reliance on middle eastern crude, there is some relief from
00:08:30us oil exports coming to this part the world, but there still a lot of
00:08:33anxieties both on oil and the natural gas front. the saudis
00:08:37had pivoted to that pipeline, now there is disruption, they were using
00:08:41this critical ... to mitigate their exposure to the straight of hermous
00:08:45and there was some relief out in Asian markets, the the peak of
00:08:49jet fuel prices etc
00:08:51that we saw in the summer had sort of kind of come down now again
00:08:54tensions back in the market because the sheer volume of crude that was
00:08:58being exported from that part the world has started to hit the
00:09:02supply chain in Asia. now what we have here is is kind of
00:09:06like the paradoxical situations that the Saudis are
00:09:09exporting less, but in fact given the... 300 three figure
00:09:13oil prices above $100, they are tend to
00:09:17the sort of pulling in more revenue and that is not good for
00:09:21some the economies, the emerging markets out in Asia where oil
00:09:24prices are causing a lot of inflationary pressures. i think quite a bit
00:09:28the the the risk has been priced in. if you're looking at this
00:09:31situation say say 10 years ago and this was not happening, adjusted for
00:09:35inflation, we be looking at $200 oil prices, the only the
00:09:39one and only reason that has not happened is because there is lot of
00:09:43American light sweet crude which is heading to the high demand
00:09:47markets out in Asia, Thailand, where I am, Vietnam, Cambodia,
00:09:50China there we say, so what we're seeing here is that US
00:09:54supplies are mitigating some the price pressures, but you can
00:09:58only do as much because this is a market that trades on sentiment
00:10:02and sentiment light now says 20% or fifth the world
00:10:06supplies are being impacted with the skirmishes in the Middle
00:10:09East.
00:10:21Ukraine's president Vladimir Zelensky says Kiv is to take
00:10:25steps towards deescalation, but only if Moscow also commits to
00:10:29holding attacks on Ukrainian
00:10:31infrastructure. Right now, there is also a
00:10:35strong proposal from the United States regarding a mutual halt to
00:10:38strikes on critical infrastructure, and if this can become the first
00:10:42deescalatory step, stopping Russian strikes on our critical
00:10:46infrastructure and hours in response, then Ukraine is ready to support
00:10:50deescalation. Earlier, US
00:10:53president Donald Trump. Russia and Ukraine had agreed to a mutual
00:10:57pause on strikes against energy infrastructure, posting on his truth
00:11:01social platform, Trump said, Ukraine has agreed not to hit
00:11:05Russian energy targets, Russia has agreed to do likewise. The
00:11:09world's diesel price rise is mostly caused by the
00:11:12Russia-Ukraine war, not Iran.
00:11:16Peter Dinkinson is in Kieve. He says Ukraine would likely
00:11:19support a cease fire covering energy infrastructure, provided Russia
00:11:23agrees to the same term. Ukraine
00:11:27has actually proposed very similar um partial ceasefires
00:11:31in relation to ener energy infrastructure a number of occasions, just
00:11:35recently again with the most recent time
00:11:38uh and each time Russia has said no, we're not interested, we don't want that
00:11:41um and has remained quite quite quite unwilling to
00:11:45cooperate, so it's not clear what has changed here, why uh Russia would
00:11:49suddenly have have decided that it would go forward, so at this point I think that the
00:11:53mood in Kiev is very much that... 'um president Trump was getting a little bit ahead
00:11:57of himself, he was jumping the gun so to speak by declaring this
00:12:01done deal as a
00:12:02as he often does, um, we're actually still quite far away
00:12:06from acfire, now if the Russians come forward and saying actually we would be
00:12:10interested in this kind
00:12:11of a this kind of deal to have a partial ceasefire on
00:12:14specifically on energy infrastructure, the Ukrainians I think would definitely want to want to
00:12:18explore that in more detail, as they say they they proposed exactly
00:12:22that a number of occasions, but they will be looking'. for some sort of a control
00:12:26mechanism um to avoid what we've seen in other ceasefires which have
00:12:30happened on over over national holidays and the like where both sides have
00:12:34basically accused the other of breaking the ceasefire um it's been a rather
00:12:37unclear picture
00:12:39and and there's been no real progress so if they were to have proceed with some sort of se sort of
00:12:43cease fire it would be very important to have some form of some
00:12:47mechanism for monitoring this and enforcing it uh that the international
00:12:51community would would need to be involved in alexander.
00:12:55Crowher is a senior fellow at the center for European policy analysis. He
00:12:59says the real challenge will be holding Moscow to the terms the
00:13:02agreement. The Russians will sign
00:13:06anything. They sign the intermediate nuclear uh
00:13:10intermediate range nuclear force treaty, the INF treaty,
00:13:13and then developed a long-range missiles
00:13:17and so uh,
00:13:19it would be very difficult to hold them to
00:13:22this, um,
00:13:23you know, uh, what, what are you going to? do if they continue to
00:13:27to uh attack Ukrainian infrastructure, wag your
00:13:30finger at them and uh send an aggressively worded paper,
00:13:34well
00:13:35you know Vladimir Putin keeps repeating what
00:13:38his uh what his goals are and they haven't
00:13:42changed uh uh denusification meaning getting rid
00:13:45the Zelinski regime uh no uh
00:13:49no NATO no EU
00:13:52uh Russia gets to keep the uh four
00:13:56areas in the donbas uh and
00:13:59Ukraine has to uh publicly
00:14:03state that uh that crimea is is part of
00:14:06Russia and so they haven't changed their goals from the very
00:14:10beginning, they may agree to something to get some pressure
00:14:14off uh but like Zelinski
00:14:17I'm skeptical that they would uh they would actually cleave to
00:14:21deal. Donald Trump is pushing back.
00:14:25against growing fears over artificial intelligence, calling efforts to rain
00:14:29in the technology, part of what he describes as sick
00:14:32conspiracy. the US president is dismissing warnings from tech
00:14:36leaders at companies including anthropic, open AI and space
00:14:40x who are calling for greater government oversight of AI and
00:14:43warning it could pose an existential threat to humanity.

00:15:33reshaping modern warfare. From the battlefields of Ukraine. to
00:15:37Israel's war on Gaza, militaries are increasingly turning to
00:15:41tech. Now one the world's leading AI companies says their
00:15:45tools were also used in attempt to develop more advanced missiles in
00:15:48Yemen. Antropics says it shut down a group of accounts linked
00:15:52to users in Northern Yemen, after identifying what it described as
00:15:56attempts to develop advanced missile technology using its cloud AI
00:16:00model. According to the company, the users relied on clot to
00:16:04write guidance, navigation and control software. for a
00:16:08multiviant missile program. Anthropic says they also
00:16:11carried out fail test of a guided rocket before returning
00:16:15to the chatbot to ask why it had not worked. The
00:16:19company says there's no evidence they succeeded in producing an
00:16:23operational weapon. Hethies, a militia group based
00:16:27in Yemen, used Anthropics AI, the publicly available one that you can just
00:16:31subscribe to build missile systems. They were developing three different
00:16:34missile systems using publicly accessible AI. and they did not get
00:16:38caught straight away, so they were using multiple accounts and multiple sessions to
00:16:42essentially separate out their research when trying to build these missile systems. they even
00:16:46got one them to the testing stage. they were trying to build missile systems that can reach
00:16:50up to 1500 to 2000 kilometers away, and top of this there's
00:16:53evidence that they were also researching biological weapons. now the hoothies, they
00:16:57already have ballistic missiles, the problem is making them and getting the people available with the
00:17:01knowledge to be able to make them, and they said in their report published by Anthropic
00:17:05that they could tell that these people were not. nears and they were essentially trying to substitute the
00:17:09knowledge that they had by using AI and they were able to do this for a
00:17:13period of time, because if they were able to get to the testing stage, it just proves
00:17:17again that they did not get caught straight away. terrifying part the report is where
00:17:21they say these people use commodity phone clask flight computers, which is
00:17:25very fancy way of saying they used hardware from mobile phones, which
00:17:29is again easily accessible to anyone in the public and to use the
00:17:32hardware and technology these phones combined with Anthropic's publicly
00:17:36accessible, to get to the testing stage of
00:17:40ballistic missile. the company says the users had already built
00:17:43offline simulation tools before turning to AI, suggesting
00:17:47the chatbot was used to accelerate development rather than replace
00:17:51it. the hoouties reject the allegations, calling the claims
00:17:55unreasonable and illogical. they say the group's military
00:17:58capabilities were developed over years and that its weapons are
00:18:02used for self-defense. no, the hootis did not use
00:18:06cloud to build their... this is obviously propaganda from anthropic as
00:18:10well as the US government, both of whom work very closely together, and
00:18:14no matter what the US media tries to tell you, the hoothies are not very
00:18:17sophisticated and they know very well that us ai models such as
00:18:21chat, gpt and claud are even less secure than public google searches
00:18:25and the hootis have been hounded by western intelligence agencies
00:18:29and tech companies for years, they know how the game is played,
00:18:32also you cannot vibe code your way into winning a war, the US
00:18:36military already tried against Iran and it did not work. Also, if they
00:18:40just wanted to use AI, why wouldn't they use the Chinese open source
00:18:44models, which are lot more secure than the US close source once, as
00:18:48well
00:18:49as lot less expensive. And this is just part of Anthropic's doomer propaganda,
00:18:53which has been working really well, I'm afraid, and now one their ex
00:18:57researchers has been going around western media saying that AI
00:19:00could destroy all humanity in the next decade.
00:19:04Developing missiles isn't the only military concern, AI company. say they're
00:19:08confronting. Antropics says it has also identified
00:19:11attempts to use its AI systems for activity that could support the
00:19:15development of biological weapons. The findings after a
00:19:19growing debate over whether artificial intelligence is advancing
00:19:23faster than the safeguards designed to contain it. In May
00:19:272026, our biological safety classifier blocked request for Cloud's
00:19:31assistance in authoring a grant application for scientific
00:19:34funding. The work discussed in the application involved. called gain of
00:19:38function research, basically attempting to give
00:19:41viruses even more capabilities and discovering cure
00:19:45for that virus. using AI for biology is
00:19:49dual use. it can obviously be incredibly helpful when you
00:19:53have amazing scientists using AI to discover new
00:19:57treatments for illness to try to solve and eradicate
00:20:00cancer, but with that same technology it
00:20:04can also create biological weapons and and
00:20:08luckily, anthropic is really good at stopping it so far. Top AI
00:20:11leaders are warning that building powerful artificial intelligence too
00:20:15quickly could be dangerous for humanity. Anthropic CEO
00:20:19Dary Amady, open AI Sam Altman and Elon Musk
00:20:23all agree that companies should slow down and be more careful.
00:20:27Concerns grew after antropic researcher quit saying AI
00:20:30companies are taking huge risks with people's lives. Some experts
00:20:34even think AI could become deadly by the end the decade.
00:20:45now the world food program has extended its partnership with the
00:20:49data and company for another 5 years. The
00:20:53deal is raising concerns within the UN agency over
00:20:56privacy, risk management and palinteers track
00:20:59record. The WFP manages one the
00:21:03world's largest humanitarian biometric databases
00:21:07containing information on millions of aid
