00:05:04now, mid-term elections coming up, how much of all of this has to
00:05:07do with posturing and messaging and
00:05:11political survive. for Donald
00:05:14Trump, lot, and President Trump is
00:05:18very worried about domestic
00:05:21politics that are linked to the Iran war
00:05:25or affected by the Iran war, so don't forget that in
00:05:29the United States usually foreign policy is not that big
00:05:32on US voters minds, but what's big on US
00:05:36voters minds is going to the gas station and seeing that
00:05:40diesels for six dollars a gallon, and gas is four or five
00:05:44dollars a gallon, that is something that Americans can
00:05:47see, and they are connecting the dots to the
00:05:51gas prices being linked to the war of aggression that
00:05:55President Trump waged on Iran with no congressional approval
00:05:59and no UN security council resolution authorizing it, so
00:06:02it's Trump's war that is leading the prices up, prices
00:06:06at the grocery store are up, interest rates in the United States are
00:06:10up, as of last week that... the first time that interest
00:06:14rates go up and this means that people will won't be able to afford to buy
00:06:17a new home, new car, so the economy is really
00:06:21suffering and that will definitely affect president Trump and the Republican

00:06:44saying things that he thinks will work that day without a

00:06:52a PR strategy that he has to deal with the

00:21:12then we could do it, but we live a situation in

00:21:31Nigeria, Africa's biggest refinery has opened its
00:21:35doors to investors. Billionaire Alikot Dangote is seeking to
00:21:39raise 1.6 billion US dollars in the continent's biggest initial
00:21:43public offering, and it's already drawing huge

00:22:14lifetime opportunity, being imagine being a part

00:22:18that is Nigerian that..." the $1.6
00:22:22billion share sale is the largest initial
00:22:26public offering in the African continent and in the history of
00:22:29Nigeria. It's also country's first fully digital
00:22:33IPO aimed at retail investors. Several
00:22:37investment apps crashed as people tried to buy a
00:22:41minimum of 10 shares costing around
00:22:44$40. By the end of day one we had cleared around
00:22:4770% the backlog. at the start of business on day two
00:22:51we had cleared 100% the backlog and now
00:22:55we you know are good to go, we increase the capacity
00:22:59just by you massive orders of magnitude.
00:23:02Africa's richest man says the aim is to make ownership
00:23:06accessible to ordinary Nigerians. Now we are looking at

00:23:55market, but despite the excitement, investing
00:23:58is still out of reach for many Nigerians, we are trying
00:24:02to survive, it's a good development, but it's
00:24:06not for for the poor, for poor people like us,
00:24:10but if you have money you can invest in it, but for we we
00:24:14are trying to survive, keep it going, keep it going, the IPO
00:24:18values the refinery at. turn on $49 billion,
00:24:22more than twice what it cost to build, while Dangode is
00:24:26still set to control 87% the company, for
00:24:29investors buying now, the real question is if Tangode
00:24:33can deliver on his company's share

00:25:55Nairobi-based company says it has distributed more than
00:25:597.3 million stoves across 11.
00:26:04African countries, built
00:26:05in computer chips, track cooking data in real time through
00:26:08GSM, allowing the company to sell verified
00:26:12carbon credits to international investors to fund the
00:26:16discount. Only way that clean cooking is going to
00:26:20scale on the continent is through carbon project
00:26:24finance, and so uh, it's a great model, governments can earn
00:26:27revenue from it, we earn revenue, customers get an
00:26:31amazing product. They would never get unless they had that subsidy that's
00:26:35brought by carbon project finance. In June, Africa
00:26:39secured 900 million dollars in clean cooking
00:26:42financial commitments, according to the International Energy
00:26:46Agency, but critics argue that building an
00:26:50entire green energy transition on volatile carbon
00:26:54markets poses a massive risk for the
00:26:57continent. If we depend holy on
00:27:01carbon credits to support the transition, it will be
00:27:04extremely slow, and it will not happen at the pace
00:27:08that we need it. the other issue for carbon market
00:27:12is before you can trade on the carbon market, you need to
00:27:15build the asset. back at Mary's home, her old
00:27:19charcoal stove sits outside next to piles of
00:27:23fuel still used by her neighbors, and while
00:27:27policy experts debate on the future of carbon
00:27:30finance, millions of... families across the
00:27:33continent cannot afford the upfront costs needed
