00:03:48of jesus was amongst other things a storyteller, and he just told
00:03:51captivating stories, and stories have a way of
00:03:55driving home the point, because they bring you
00:03:58into scenarios.

00:04:06a would act if it where me and all of that and that's why it drives lot of

00:07:02to act differently, i'm talking romantically

00:07:09portray christ like living, is that? Yeah, so
00:07:13narrative entertainment is
00:07:14a faith-based um organization, so we
00:07:18may not necessarily be preaching in our presentation, yeah,
00:07:21but uh, we want to leave the bread
00:07:25crumbs, leave um faith based principles there and and
00:07:29tell real life stories from the lens um the
00:07:33logos of speak to us on the casting then why these set of
00:07:36so that's part of that's part of what I'm saying like I
00:07:40just come up with the story. and leave
00:07:43it to professionals to do the casting so i don't do casting

00:08:24two, when i saw the thriller, i said he's a
00:08:28pastor, come they are boxing each other and doing all this
00:08:32and so on. you know, i think that's that's part the issues that we
00:08:35have. um, we try to do church a
00:08:39bubble, and that's why we don't prepare people for real life situation. because
00:08:43everybody you see in their Sunday best is going to go to
00:08:46offices, they're going to deal with real life issues, believe me,
00:08:50sincerely, some christians have been punched and have
00:08:53punched, and all of that, for instance, and that's
00:08:57exactly what I'm dealing with, in in counseling lot of Christians, I've
00:09:01seen that as spiritual as they are, as religious as they are,
00:09:05they just have, yeah, self-limiting believes that
00:09:09came from their trauma, the kind of upbringing that the... so lot
00:09:13of people who are having struggles in marriage like the young
00:09:17man in the movie is is not a prayer
00:09:20issue, it's not a prayer issue and the kind
00:09:24of feedback i've gotten from this we just speaks to that and
00:09:28when it comes to movie sets, the truth
00:09:31is everything rises and falls on leadership,
00:09:35if the kind of person who is um putting together the
00:09:39movie, lot of people are are intelligent, they are...
00:09:42matter how rascally anybody wants to be, there are some things they
00:09:46won't do in an embassy for instance and all of that, and so
00:09:50we've never had any such issues, um, this is my fourth
00:09:54project and my second release, mean i
00:09:56said clean as a whistle, so for me what
00:10:00inspires melt down, yes, is this
00:10:04a personal experience or the experience of as
00:10:08pastor, you meet a lot of people, and that's why you decide to come up with this?
00:10:12Oh my god, counselling people, counselling
00:10:16people, I mean it's proven psychologically
00:10:19that lot of
00:10:21people, the the way they act in.
00:10:25marriage is a projection of how they had relationship
00:10:29with their predominant caregiver when they were growing
00:10:32up and so sometimes because i've
00:10:36studied a bit the psychology just by seeing how people respond i
00:10:40can ask questions and i'm right 90% the time
00:10:44so if a child got used to um a caregiver not
00:10:48being present
00:10:50you know he will now develop what psychologist call an avoidance
00:10:53attachment hm so now that kind of
00:10:56person, now that kind of person, we
00:11:00just discover that in in marriage, he's
00:11:03reacting to presence, if you if you are the lovy dovy type, he will
00:11:07react to it, he won't like to be held for too long, he won't like to be
00:11:11hugged for too long, and he doesn't even understand why,
00:11:15because his entire neurological
00:11:18system has um attached those kind of
00:11:22behaviors to being unsafe,
00:11:25because if he brings himself to that point of
00:11:28vulnerability, it will trigger the feeling of rejection that he had
00:11:32repeatedly when
00:11:33it was growing up, so now even the Bible talks about
00:11:37renewing your mind, it's not just prayer, and so
00:11:41time and time again i've seen prayerful
00:11:44people, decent people, honest, in fact people who
00:11:48are good individually, but are not good together, together, interesting, and
00:11:52so those are kind of statistics, yes. the rate of
00:11:55divorce in the country and i see that you play
00:11:59a key role in ensuring that you councel young
00:12:03people in the church and you said something that it's not about prayer
00:12:07because we see lot of people come to the church to pray and at the end they get back home it's
00:12:11not only about prayer it's only about prayer they get back home and it's something
00:12:15else so how do we address this yes
00:12:18so uh you know like i said think a
00:12:21good scripture that puts case in point will be
00:12:25Romans 12 where he says versus one and two, paraphrasing,
00:12:29it says,
00:12:32um, um, renew your mind, present your body's living sacrifice, and then renew your
00:12:36mind, so there is what to do with your spirit, there's what to do with your
00:12:40mind, like I said, if you have limited limiting
00:12:43beliefs, case and points, the children of Israel were brought
00:12:47out of Egypt, but Egypt was never brought out them, it's a
00:12:51mind frame issue, it's it, so... even
00:12:55though desert, their minds kept going back, they they couldn't
00:12:59see themselves as better than slaves and all of that, it's
00:13:03very hard to sell a vision to people who haven't seen
00:13:06otherwise, and think it
00:13:09is underestimated the
00:13:13power for instance of growing up a wholesome family
00:13:16where you saw your dad love his wife
00:13:20consistently for years where you never saw him hit her or you
00:13:24never saw... her whole insults at him and you
00:13:27never saw all of that, lot of people don't understand the kind
00:13:31of emotional stability, a girl who grew up a
00:13:34household where her dad loved her and was present,
00:13:38that's not a girl you can throw sweets at on the streets and then
00:13:42you fall, mean back to the ground, exactly,
00:13:46so those are the kind of things that we're trying to deal
00:13:49with, not just the spiritual exercise part of it,
00:13:53but using the word of God. as a as as as logos, as
00:13:57logic, to create principles and patterns that can be
00:14:01repeated and that can transform your life
00:14:04in in the long term. so let's let's talk about this um trauma that
00:14:07is um prevalent with youths, the
00:14:11church is a place where some these people go and find the most
00:14:15peace, while for others they have
00:14:18their fair of trauma there, and i'm speaking to the
00:14:22growing rape allegations. we hear happen in
00:14:26churches, i don't know where you stand on that, what you
00:14:30would say to the youths, to the pastors, and then i think there's
00:14:33also this
00:14:35um a game where it's not a game now for the lack of better
00:14:38word, you calling out someone that's done something to
00:14:42you at the church, but withholding that person's name, where do you
00:14:46stand on that, do you think those people should actually call the name so that mean i
00:14:50mean, i think that when it comes to serious issues like
00:14:54rap fiable um essay
00:14:57allegations, i think that criminal issues should be dealt you
00:15:01know like criminal treated like criminal
00:15:04issues you know so it's
00:15:07different from every other thing, in fact the
00:15:11moment is a criminal issue is no longer pastoral
00:15:13matter, you you mean the the
00:15:17right authorities should you take on take it up from
00:15:20there um yes and the truth is and
00:15:24that's part of what I was saying earlier, the church is not a
00:15:28bubble, it's reflection of society, it's the same people in
00:15:32society that are coming to church, and unfortunately even
00:15:35though church... she's a saddled
00:15:39with um immense responsibility, the reality
00:15:42is that lot of people come to church too
00:15:46late and this is it's just the same way an
00:15:50a hospital you can there's some people who are dead arrival there are some
00:15:54people who you know like we hear it all
00:15:58the time if symptoms persist after three days
00:16:01consult exactly so lot
00:16:05of pastors have to do the work both both of
00:16:09pastors and of parents, because you see people who are
00:16:12who were never really um parented well and then you have to
00:16:16start a fresh and teach them things that you shouldn't have to have taught them,
00:16:20so um so it's not just
00:16:24something that happens in religious settings even though the shock value
00:16:28is higher there, but it's reflection of something that happens
00:16:32everywhere and I don't think it's even more in religious institutions, like I
00:16:35said the shock value is more there.
00:16:37but it's it's an issue plaging our society. now let's go back to film
00:16:41production. um, we don't have lot
00:16:45of faith based movies in Nigeria.
00:16:49I'm wondering why uh, we have, you are pastor and you are
00:16:53into this business, how come you, you're
00:16:56not uh putting films together that uh,
00:17:00that are completely christian so to
00:17:04say. mean, so first and foremost, my wife is also a movie.
00:17:08and my wife has movies that are completely
00:17:11Christian and like I
00:17:14said is just when when Jesus comes on the
00:17:18scene and he he says the kingdom of heaven
00:17:22is like a marchant seeking goodly pers now that's something that is
00:17:26relatable a business socio
00:17:29economic sense yeah but it's also a kingdom
00:17:32lesson so the truth is many times you want to
00:17:36portray churches, pastors in the movie, as if that's
00:17:40all the the world has to show, there are real life
00:17:43issues, people, the average christian will go to church once
00:17:47in seven days, what about those other seven days, what does the word of God have to
00:17:51say about those days,
00:17:53you know, and that's my preoccupation, and also I have
00:17:57bias, I just feel like if I want to preach a sermon, I just preach a
00:18:01sermon, I preach lot, I preach every day, every day, you get what
00:18:05I'm saying, so I, I don't necessarily have to. in movies, there's no
00:18:08rule that says that because I'm a pastor, I must preach, no, I'm just, I'm looking
00:18:12at the movie industry generally, like in music, we have
00:18:15afro bee, we have this, we have jazz, and believe me, there are so
00:18:19many fit based movies, they
00:18:23just, they just need more sponsorship, they just need more
00:18:26encouragement,
00:18:28you know, and and and all of that, let me be a bit personal
00:18:32at the moment, because you've been so quiet here,
00:18:34and I want to take you off your seats, um, how do you do the
00:18:38balancing? okay, because I know you as
00:18:41pastor, you father, yes, your teacher, so how do you
00:18:45balance? you're also a storyteller, yes, so what time do you
00:18:49have
00:18:50to do all this, because i i told you earlier that your
00:18:54service center in our god is do very well, thank you, so i know you as very busy
00:18:58man, now doing storytelling, where's the
00:19:01balancing? okay, so let's let's start with milk down, i was
00:19:05on set. three
00:19:07times throughout the whole two weeks
00:19:11the about of casting i mean of shooting i was on set three
00:19:15times and each the three times i wasn't there more than
00:19:18two hours really oh yes so you were not you're not in the
00:19:22movie is that yeah i i'm a movie
00:19:25actually see you in the trailer anyway no it's
00:19:29deliberate so you've re the
00:19:32surprise for it's okay yeah
00:19:35so um i'm not a movie I'm I'm I'm a
00:19:38movie um so let me let me explain it this
00:19:41way something that everyone can relate to you're trying to
00:19:45travel and you want to be lazy with your packing so you just

00:19:53traveling bag and you just realize that when you're trying to zip
00:19:55it there isn't enough space also it appears but
00:19:59then you now bring everything out and begin to fold
00:20:03everything and then suddenly everything can fit I think that's that's a
00:20:06parable of. my life that um, if you create a space for
00:20:10everything and put everything a space, it you
00:20:13be surprised how many things you can do, so i've built
00:20:17systems, i'm i'm also releasing two music albums this
00:20:20year, okay, mean obviously gospel right,
00:20:24okay, you're a pastor of many
00:20:26exactly, and look, he is just talented person,
00:20:30happens to be pastor, you can put it
00:20:33that, but i think that... the
00:20:37the analogy give, and this is the same way we have
00:20:41stereotyped the application the word of God, we have
00:20:44lights in this studio, and if a place
00:20:48is dark and suddenly light. start shining, you look at the light and that's
00:20:52good, you can observe the light, but most importantly the purpose the light is
00:20:56that because the light you can see other things, not that you see the light, but because
00:21:00the light you can see other things, so we like to look at
00:21:03theology, we like to enjoy church services, but the real
00:21:07purpose is to take that light into
00:21:10society, so that's one of my core
00:21:13assignments and so that you can find Jesus in
00:21:17music, Jesus in movies and have real social
00:21:21impact and that's why I'm doing what I'm doing to also model it for other
00:21:25Christians to say, listen, this is the purpose of light,
00:21:29because I mean the kind of the kind
00:21:32of impact that the movies have had, the kind of conversations they
00:21:36spark, the kind of people who have come into you know my
00:21:39DM and the kind of, I mean you you be, you'l be shocked, so are you also having
00:21:43plans to go into politics because you you've done everywhere, the last
00:21:47time I was here, you people. i have
00:21:51i have no plan whatsoever
00:21:54whatsever when is it when are you
00:21:58releasing it? mean so a meltdown has been released in in the past

00:28:05geopolitical zones and most importantly we
00:28:09are planning to also um
00:28:13empow yout in
00:28:15creating
00:28:17uh um a branch which is going to begin in
00:28:20Abuja which is the capital because uh the Nigeria Football
00:28:24Federation has been the the the
00:28:27pioneer of everything I have achieved today and the super hegos players
00:28:31at large you. because they gave me partform, they gave me, they gave me chance
00:28:35and opportunity to chase my dream and to to tell other
00:28:39youth out there about um ensuring to make sure
