00:02:11of honorable, thank you, well let's begin with the issue of
00:02:15this fake agency, the proported presidential foreign
00:02:18investment promotional council
00:02:22reportedly secured about 1.3 billion
00:02:25naira in the 2026 budget, despite has
00:02:30having no legal basis,
00:02:31now how did the fake agency survive scrutiny by the budget
00:02:35office and still pass through the national
00:02:38assembly? investigation is going
00:02:41on and we're all
00:02:44surprised with this unfortunate development
00:02:48in Nigeria where government officials will
00:02:51conive with some individuals to come up with
00:02:55fake agency and operate in Nigeria, you
00:02:59know some... uh people are not doing their
00:03:02work and some
00:03:04of have
00:03:04of compromise and after full
00:03:07investigation, it will
00:03:09be clearly known to Nigerians, those that are involved,
00:03:13those that undermined the constitution
00:03:17of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and they will be charged to court and they will be
00:03:20prosecuted. you said um some people are not doing
00:03:24their work, you admit that lawmakers also have
00:03:28role of oversight to... play on the executive and as a
00:03:32law maker who voted on the budget, do you accept that the national
00:03:35assembly failed in its constitutional responsibility
00:03:39to scrutinize public spending
00:03:41of the executive? how do we feel when we
00:03:45receive a budget from the
00:03:49of president presented to us through the office
00:03:52of the
00:03:53uh uh DG budget, they they call all these uh
00:03:57submissions from government agencies and department? men
00:04:00ministries for them to compile all the
00:04:04submissions, take it to Mr. President, and the president will
00:04:08present it to the National Assembly, I will work on it,
00:04:12and uh, along the line, the committee on
00:04:15appropriation that are charged with the responsibility
00:04:19of you, managing the national budget to
00:04:23of the point of passing the budget, we have
00:04:27lot and they we invite them for budget
00:04:31defense through their departments,
00:04:34supervisory
00:04:35min ministries that are supervising them and agencies
00:04:39and they keep on sending them to us, that's why i said some
00:04:43people will have to answer question
00:04:46on the uh uh being part of
00:04:50this criminal act by deceiving
00:04:54nigerians
00:04:55of and uh also presenting fake documents to
00:04:59the members. the national assembly members
00:05:02a of the parliament and they will be prosecuted. another proported fake
00:05:06body, that is the national brands development and made in
00:05:10Nigerian special project office. was subsequently
00:05:14uncovered and alongside I think two or three agencies there
00:05:17about, does this suggest that the PFI
00:05:20PC was not an isolated fraud but
00:05:24evidence of a wider failure within the federal
00:05:27bureaucracy. You know, with this
00:05:30development now presently
00:05:34we're working on
00:05:37uh amending of so many financial
00:05:41act. under the ministry of
00:05:45finance and other agencies that are
00:05:49connected to all these issues that
00:05:53have been raised or this negative development in
00:05:57Nigeria and after doing that you will see
00:06:00that all these issues will be addressed. It is quite
00:06:04unfortunate that some government
00:06:07officials from all
00:06:11sector from all all the agencies that are linked to
00:06:15this that are linked to this are
00:06:19so much uh uh they have abused the constitution let me put it that
00:06:23way and will push for their
00:06:25prosecution we push push for their
00:06:28prosecution after the investigation that is that is
00:06:32ongoing let's talk about the cost of governance because
00:06:36already we have seen hundreds of ministries, departments and
00:06:39agencies and yet lawmakers continue to introduce bills,
00:06:43establishing new commissions, institutions and
00:06:47councils. now how do you justify creating more institution when
00:06:50government itself says it has to reduce
00:06:54its cost of governance? yes uh,
00:06:58it's the work the executive and
00:07:02we in the parliament. today,
00:07:06as a member representing my constituency, i can
00:07:09present new
00:07:12bill establishment bill to either
00:07:16establish a school or any
00:07:19institution within my federal constituency, so it is
00:07:23now left for my colleagues in the parliament to say,
00:07:27okay, we have done it for a, b, c, let's just pass it for
00:07:31him, the executive should uh
00:07:34decide, if they have enough resources to
00:07:37embark on, fine, because the ball is in their
00:07:41court, we have. done it from the parliament, but we have been
00:07:45trying as much as possible within the parliament, you know
00:07:49this is uh democracy, you have to play
00:07:52is is is a game of interest
00:07:55and uh your interest is for you to see how you can
00:07:59develop to your area or how you can bring uh achievement to
00:08:03your area, either institution or government
00:08:06school, you understand, so it is now for the
00:08:10executive to also engage the
00:08:13parliament to see how all these things can be
00:08:17addressed so that we don't keep on bringing up uh uh
00:08:21establishment bills on and on and on and we have been talking to
00:08:25ourselves in the parliament that look we need to correct this and we have
00:08:29to stop this so lot have been stepped down in regards to
00:08:33establishment bills all right the national assembly has
00:08:36enormous overside powers but nigerias
00:08:39often hear law makers complain that
00:08:43ministries and agencies refuse to honor invitations or
00:08:47provide documents. now if parliament controls appropriation, why
00:08:50does it sometimes appear powerless when agencies
00:08:54still refuse to corporate? and when an agency repeatedly
00:08:58ignores parliamentary summons, at what point do you move
00:09:02beyond issuing another invitation and what are the real
00:09:05consequences that national assembly can
00:09:08impose? well, the national assembly is so powerful.
00:09:13very very powerful and for any head of
00:09:17agency, either a minister or DG
00:09:21or MD or executive ed,
00:09:25executive director, even the president, the national
00:09:29assembly can summon him and he have to appear
00:09:32before the parliament, not to talk of his
00:09:36appointees, refusing to appear before the parliament to
00:09:40either defend their doings or... to answer
00:09:43questions from the legislators, so
00:09:47for you not to to choose not to appear,
00:09:51you are joking with your with your with your future
00:09:55and with your reputation, the national assembly will
00:09:59issue an warrant arrest warrant
00:10:02and you will be arrested by the security agencies and that
00:10:06is the provision the constitution, but we never seen that take
00:10:10effect, we just see repeated. we have done, we have done that in so
00:10:14many case, let me give you an example, the head of
00:10:17uh um uh CAC, corporate affairs
00:10:21commission, the senate invited him like,
00:10:25like two or three times and he refused to come, they
00:10:28issue warrant
00:10:31of uh arrest for him to be arrested, and
00:10:35the next day he appeared, he came to the parliament
00:10:39and the queried him, and the parliament can recommend
00:10:43your removal from office, if not,
00:10:46whatever the president will bring to the to the parliament, to the
00:10:50house or to the national assembly, will stand not to pass it,
00:10:54will not... attend to it until you remove this person from his
00:10:58office for undermining the Nigerian
00:11:01constitution by failing to appear before the parliament and
00:11:04answer questions on behalf of
00:11:08Nigerians. Well, Nigerians serious questions about
00:11:11constituency projects, if lawmakers are supposed to
00:11:15legislate and conduct oversight rather than
00:11:19execute projects, why should individual legislators
00:11:23in effectively? mean which projects
00:11:26federal agencies implements in their constituencies?
00:11:30is not uh, we are we
00:11:33advise and we facilitate, we we don't
00:11:37determine. in my constituency
00:11:40today, my people might be needing
00:11:44bridge, schools and hospital, so it
00:11:47is my responsibility as their representative
00:11:51to make my submission based on the need and... the needs of
00:11:55my people, I cannot begin to say, okay,
00:11:59what uh, southeast people needs
00:12:03should also come and use the same template and implement in
00:12:07my is not done that way, that is why we are representatives the
00:12:10people, we bring the our problems
00:12:14on behalf of our people, we bring our
00:12:18submissions, what my constituents
00:12:21needs, then from their agencies,
00:12:25that are responsible for uh implementation
00:12:29of such projects will take it from there and they will do it, we
00:12:33don't execute projects with the uh the members the
00:12:36parliament, we don't, we only give submissions, they are in charge
00:12:40of advice or influence, what
00:12:44advice or influence, you said the uh honorable or the
00:12:48law makers actually advise in in where necessary
00:12:51for constitution project that they hope to be in their
00:12:55constituencies, now is this more of an advice or influence? no,
00:12:59we submit, we make submissions, because if today I
00:13:03do right on my own, if I know my constituence have
00:13:07problem with bridge linking uh
00:13:11from this village to another village, I will write from my office to the
00:13:15minister of works or road that
00:13:18my so so place is in need of
00:13:22this, kindly treat with. Does
00:13:25ranking, does ranking play any role in terms the quality
00:13:29the constitution projects that you you can attract to
00:13:33your region? yeah, it it's is very clear
00:13:37in uh, even in developed
00:13:40democracy, ranking plays a major role in
00:13:44terms of not just the project that you attract your
00:13:47constituency, the position that you will you will you
00:13:51will held in the parliament, in fact the office that you will occupy.
00:13:55high as your your your your your your
00:13:59ranking is increasing you're going upper if you are
00:14:03in first floor zero floor the your first
00:14:07term second ternar you
00:14:08will be at the second floor third you will be at the third floor fourth time
00:14:12you be
00:14:12at the fourth floor so you remain there that is the last floor
00:14:16all the ranking members you understand
00:14:19i had legislative experience it is not easy
00:14:23for you to win election three, two or four times coming back
00:14:27to the parliament and with somebody that just won election
00:14:31once, you understand? so even in advanced
00:14:34democracy, that is the practice, so
00:14:38it attracts you being a ranking member, you
00:14:42attract more project to your constituency
00:14:46than new member that just came in. all right,

00:15:08Honorable Ismail Dabo and now we'll be moving
00:15:12into what is expected uh as the campaigns
00:15:16have started. Now the ABC says is ready for
00:15:192027. Beyond the rallies, beyond the
00:15:23endorsements and also the... sections, what evidence shows that the
00:15:27party has clear strategy and functioning campaign
00:15:30structure nationwide? if you look at
00:15:34our campaign organization, Who
00:15:37clearly, you know, answer this question. We're very
00:15:41organized, unlike the other opposition
00:15:45parties. We have all our structure in
00:15:48place, and we will start campaign, we tell
00:15:52Nigerians what we have done, we tell Nigerians what we have
00:15:56for them in the next government, and we tell Nigerians
00:16:00our challenges also, and we'll ask
00:16:03them to support us where we need their support.
00:16:07in order to overcome those challenges, but this presidential campaign
00:16:11council has already generated some sort of controversy, some people feel
00:16:15left out the list, including governors, so how do
00:16:19you go into a campaign with already disgruntled
00:16:22members? no, uh, you know,
00:16:26in uh, constituting an
00:16:29election uh, campaign organization, you cannot
00:16:33have every member the party.
00:16:37on board to be part of it, but for the governors, APC
00:16:41governors, all them are automatic members the
00:16:45campaign organization, that I can say, and for those
00:16:49that things they are very important, they are supposed to be part
00:16:53the campaign organization, and maybe something
00:16:57happen along the line, they are still part the the
00:17:00movement, and I'm sure the party will look at them
00:17:04and they will place them appropriately. President wants
00:17:08an issue based campaign and the
00:17:11APC is is the APC ready to be judged
00:17:15you know by the food prices, rise in cost of
00:17:19transportation, jobs, household incomes and
00:17:23insecurity particularly, yes we are going to
00:17:26justify all that to Nigerians, how will you do that?
00:17:30Thank you uh today, if you look at our
00:17:33GDP, if you look at the uh
00:17:37what we're doing in terms of
00:17:39uh our growth, if you look at our foreign
00:17:43reserved, if you look at our critical
00:17:47reforms in in
00:17:50in in in so many
00:17:53areas then you look, you see future
00:17:57for Nigeria, you cannot be
00:18:01having such very sound reforms
00:18:05and you expect things to...
00:18:08immediately for you, no, we look
00:18:11beyond 2027, we look
00:18:15beyond ourselves, this government is looking
00:18:18at very, very
00:18:22prosp prospective Nigeria in the future, in the
00:18:26next 20, 30 years to come, Nigeria will be a
00:18:30great country, but for now yes, there is
00:18:33inflation, no two ways about it, and it's not
00:18:36only. Our own is not as as
00:18:40was as other nation
00:18:43that uh uh they are facing so will
00:18:46overcome all these challenges after the reform and by the
00:18:50grace of God when things have been explained well to
00:18:53Nigerians this is the situation we are and this is where we are
00:18:57going to Nigerians will understand the the
00:19:01the position of things well before the
00:19:03administration of um president
00:19:07APC sold renewed hope to
00:19:11Nigerians and that you end him the uh
00:19:15presidency now what will Nigerians what would the
00:19:18APC be selling to Nigerians this time will it still be
00:19:22renewed home is still renewed hope is working progress what
00:19:26of what part the hope is being renewed
00:19:29is is is still in progress is work in progress you have
00:19:33renewed hope in education you have renewed hope in road uh
00:19:37in infrastructure, you have renewed hope in education, you have renewed
00:19:41hope in health, you have renewed hope in security, so
00:19:45it's it's renewed hope is everywhere, even in housing scheme
00:19:49for Nigerians to have a place to live, a roof over their
00:19:53heads, we have renewed hope everywhere and
00:19:56nigerians that are already benefiting, they are
00:20:00aware the renewed hope that is going on, so it
00:20:04is still renewed hope and Nigerians will
00:20:08see the positive impact of what renewed
00:20:12hope is doing, well let's talk about your own
00:20:15ambition in this 2027 election, I'm
00:20:19sure you want to return to the national assembly, how are
00:20:23you convincing your constituents that
00:20:26you know you are still the right candidate for the job?
00:20:30uh, I've been doing that through my
00:20:33my positive impact, what I have done.
00:20:38i don't campaign or promise,
00:20:42you see what i' have done in my
00:20:45constituency, hospitals, i have hospitals
00:20:48in so many rural areas, i've done
00:20:52schools, i've done uh rural uh
00:20:56bridge, i've done a water
00:20:59project, i've
00:21:00done
00:21:05empowerment, in education i've given
00:21:08scholarship to our students, i've trained
00:21:12them to ride jump about 700
00:21:16candidates and before the jam
00:21:20i placed them on special classes and you can
00:21:24believe me more than 50% them passed their jam and gave
00:21:28them scholarship to go to school so we have lot of students now
00:21:31in the university not just studing
00:21:35any special courses we have lot
00:21:38them in special courses before
00:21:41now i think we have few medical doctors students study
00:21:45medical doctor in medicine
00:21:49sorry study medicine in our universities from my constituency
00:21:53b, but as it is now with the intervention that I did
00:21:57to my constituents, we have lot them now in
00:22:00nursing, in medicine, in so many
00:22:04special courses, so I'm so proud and their parents are happy
00:22:08and the students are happy, you know, so I pay more attention to
00:22:11education to educate my people, to give them education
00:22:14support, classes and you know special
00:22:18intervention so that... will have better uh
00:22:21society. well, as we round of this conversation, what are the
00:22:25three measurable achievements that will form the
00:22:29strongest strongest part of your party's
00:22:32campaign, and how have they improved the daily lives of
00:22:36nigerians? wow, you know,
00:22:39um, we have, we have tried our best
00:22:43this government, and I'm sure,
00:22:47I'm sure you saw the emergency meeting that... the
00:22:50president of someone, the state
00:22:53governors, they have so much money with
00:22:56them to come and discuss on how they
00:22:59will bring down the
00:23:02prices of transportation, goods
00:23:06and services, hospital bills and lot
00:23:10of other you know intervention,
00:23:14so from now to election
00:23:17period, I'm sure Nigerians. be happy with the
00:23:21new uh intervention that the president is planning
00:23:25on these sectors in collaboration with the state governor since they have so
00:23:29much money with them from the subsidy uh funds
00:23:32removal so that Nigerians can have a space to
00:23:35breed more so from now to that time and the
00:23:39president is serious about it
00:23:42I have given you so much money
00:23:44how can we do this how can we reduce
00:23:47the hardship that is
00:23:49a leader. Yeah, that is leadership, he listens to
00:23:53his to to complain from his
00:23:57followers and that was why he decided to immediately
00:24:00act, he immediately act, so Nigerians will
00:24:04soon be jumping and celebrating APC for
00:24:08second time by the grace of God after this, are you sure about that, and is
00:24:12your best good enough, because you said your party has done
00:24:16its best, but to nigerians do you think that best?
00:24:20is good enough, it's always not going to be enough
00:24:23for uh, for somebody that is
00:24:27expecting more from you, you understand?
00:24:31it's always not going to be enough, but
00:24:34the uh most important part is
00:24:38for that person to make comparison
00:24:42or to see the hope that you are trying to
00:24:45bring to him and to his children and his
00:24:48grandchildren. then he will now say, okay,
00:24:52there is hope in what the APC government are doing in the
00:24:56future, so by the grace of God, all these
00:25:00things will be,
00:25:02you know, will be explained to Nigerians and
00:25:05after all the interventions, the consideration,
00:25:09the uh,
00:25:10you know, revisiting of some issues, Nigerians will clap for
00:25:14APC. All right, we look forward to that, so we must say thank you
